The receptionist on the phone (Sharon) was so friendly, helpful and efficient, taking me through registration for Everyone Active, and helping me understand the holiday swim options. On arrival there is plenty free parking, a well stocked shop with lots of goggles etc. The kids are having a brilliant time in the Family Swim, they're already familiar with the building as they come here for school swimming lessons. The lifeguards are alert and not overbearing. A great experience

It's seems to be managing in these difficult times. They are confusing me a bit by moving the equipment locations and I find myself wasting the restricted 50 minute session times looking for stuff. But overall it's a good place full of normal people with no attitude issues so you will feel at ease. Must mention the personal trainers as they are very approachable and very professional should you need help and encouragement as I do.

Good equipment, solid weights area, and plenty of classes and other activities (swimming, squash etc.) Staff are polite and helpful. Great gym with an affordable membership. Only downside I can think of is the high cost of a one-off session and the fact that if you want to bring a friend they will need an induction for even a single session before using the gym. Not ideal if you have someone visiting you.

This is a very clean gym with friendly staff members. It has lots of activities and a very nice big pool. The only thing is missing is a sauna, but that's not the end of the world. I used it for over an year and it really improved my overall body and mental health. Totally recommend it if you live in Southmead/Gloucester area

I was a member of this centre for more than 2 years. I attended both the gym and the swimming pool almost on a daily basis. I really liked when they renovated and increases the size of the gym. I believe one of the major disadvantages here is that one needs to leave the gym, go to the reception and only then one can go to the swimming pool. it would be much better and easier if there was a way to have a single dressing area for both facilities. The badminton courts are fine, though the surface is quite slippery.

Good parking, liked how they have accessible steps in to the pool and grab rails in the changing rooms which came in handy for me, but wasn't very clean. Showers had dirt all on the walls and mould, floor wasn't clean either, lockers took our tokens so we had to leave the door unlocked. Nice swim but didn't like that it was only an open pool at a specific time.

It's all been working very well at the baths since returning after lockdown. Especially when the showers came back into use. The only grumble I have is about the men's urinals - which seems to be a recurring problem.

Friendly and knowledgeable staff with a decent selection of top of the line equipment. Could only be improve by adding more machines for the peak hours, but this seems to plague almost every gym. Could really benefit as well from increasing the number of lockers and/or providing cheaper "wallet-sized" lockers- kind of a pain shelling out 1£ every time you go to the gym on top of your member fee. Overall a good solid place, I would recommend it.

Would like to see a bit more timely maintenance and little more tlc.. Its good to re upholster equipment now and then...update there is talk pf big renovations sometime in the future. WiFi has become unworkable during peak times... Previously streaming youtube or music was possible... In the lobby/cafe and down the corridors would be nice to see more seating for those seeking warmth during winter of 2022/23

We arrived one evening at around 5:30pm. Drove straight in and down to the end (almost) just past the bushes and reversed in. Our alko chassis is quite low, but the kerb and grass didn't present a problem. So, it's 3 hours free parking here, to extend it you have to go to reception and input your vehicle registration into the tablet, it's easy peasy. The staff are brilliant so no problems there. I booked my wife a swimming session for 6:40am and that was only £5. That booking classes us as members, so we got 24 hrs free parking (however, please note it's midnight to midnight). There are charging points for electric vehicles and plenty of parking spaces. Due to Covid the toilets and showers were closed but on our last visit, the 19th, all facilities were open. It was a very quiet and hassle free experience. I recommend this place highly.

The till staff are really friendly, helpful and professional. If you're lucky enough to have a NUS card, you're also lucky enough to get discounted entry on a pay as you go basis. Fairly modern in design, the pool could do with a better clean around the edges. A short course pool; it can get a little crowded. Multiple lane speeds so you can usually get a good swim session in. As you might expect, the cafe is expensive, the menu limited but the staff are friendly- but you probably didn't come here for a Cappuccino.

I like the place and have been going there for a year. Last night it was meant to be open till 22:00 but the PT on shift turned off half of the lights at 21:30 as well as the music and sat on a bench hoping everyone would leave early. I can definitely understand that he wanted to go home, but I pay to use the facilities untill 22:00 and would have left before the closing time anyway. It was rude and unnecessary.

I visited the leisure centre last night for the time, the leisure centre staff were friendly, the facilities were clean, there's loads of parking and they sell swimwear and accessories at a reasonable price. My main reason for the visit was to attend the roller disco with my children, which I have to say was amazing the Lets sk8 team are fantastic. My two girls had never skated before and could hardly stand up on the skates, by the end of the evening they were both up and away on their own. Thanks again for a great night, roll on the night one!

It's great that it's open again, and even though you can only get 50 minutes in the gym at any one time, I'm happy to be back! The only disappointment is that a fair few of my personal favourite pieces of equipment is not available!

Is a nice place but it can get extremely busy when children do their swimming lessons. They have lots of activities for all ages. Parking is free for 3 hours but after that you will get a fine. They have a coffee shop and crèche for parents that have a gym membership. You can use your move Gb here. They have showers and changing rooms.

Gym has just been refurbished and is looking great. One down side is the queue for lane swimming. Have to queue until the set time, surely we could save time by at least being allowed to get changed and wait at the pool side!? Staff are sometimes a bit surly.

The booking system on the everyone active app is easy to use. Sessions occasionally get filled quickly. You'll then have to be put on a waiting list and get notified if a space becomes available. A swim session cost £5.40 for an adult. A session lasts 55 minutes. If you are planning on swimming at least twice a week I advise that you pay for a swim membership. The pool doesn't have a strong chlorine smell which is good, apparently. Overall it is a decent leisure centre but needs improving. The swimming changing room is often very smelly. I have seen members of staff hosing the floor and wiping the mirrors but I think the changing room needs a deep clean. A lot of the lockers do not work. Either the key gets jammed, the token gets stuck or spits the token out. You have to get a token from reception that costs £1 and is card payment only. Showers are often barely lukewarm. The staff are friendly. Plenty of parking spaces.

I'm a frequent user of the gym, and I am impressed with gym staff and their desire to help you achieve the best you can! However, I have experienced problems on the reception desk, such as being told to wait for a membership advisor, and then sitting and waiting for 20 minutes with no idea what to do.. Also being a teen, I used to be turned away from the gym because I was too young? I thought it was 'Everyone Active'? Well, apart from a few downsides, Horfeild Leisure Centre has good all round facilities and I would recommend this to other sport enthusiasts.

Fairly good facilities overall although the cafe could benefit from a better selection and is overpriced. "Wet n wild" is great fun, grand kids love this! Only down side is having t sea with Linda at reception who is consistently rude and unhelpful - maybe a course in hospitality would help!!

Great classes, best to get annual membership. Reception does let the side down as most of the time they're grumpy and it feels like they are doing you a favour. But I would recommend everyone active over David Lloyd every time.

The gym is great here but sadly the pool is so oversubscribed that you can only ever do widths since the other half is needed for schools and lessons etc. Perhaps one day they'll treat us to a second pool. Perhaps outdoors wity a jacuzzi and sauna to boot ;)

I play football here on the outdoor pitches, which look pretty much new. The toilets and showers are reasonably clean also. I've not used any other part of the centre but it is all quite modern looking.

A good facility with lots going on, have a look at the timetable to see the full list of their activities. Gym, pool, indoor and outdoor courts. The swimming pool area is nice but changing areas can get dirty if it's busy, they have a no shoes policy but don't enforce it so the floor can get pretty muddy (not nice when walking bare foot). The kids pool can be quite cold, not great for babies but fine for active young ones. They have plenty of places to lock up your bike, the car park is big enough but can be a nightmare to leave at peak traffic times.

Facilities are good overall, but the gym needs some serious maintenance. At least 2 machines (often more) are always broken and a lot of the working machines are very clearly worn.
