An amazing club with an exceptional community. Everyone is on equal ground, no matter your athletic ability. This has to be one of the funnest martials arts to be doing in Cardiff Uni. The sessions are great and intense, yet go at a good pace. And the people here make it even better. Definitely something to try!

This is a very welcoming and easy-going club. If you were thinking about trying a martial art but unsure where to start, then start here. It’s not like martial arts on the telly, there isn’t “sparring” and people competing against you and trying to hurt you - you train and learn together, and look after each other. Practical, relevant, and effective. With bad jokes. Lots of bad jokes.

I arrived to a Jiujitsu session in this club by coincidence and with no expectations and I felt so comfortable and happy that I went back again and again until I became a member! Super good atmosphere and learning. For me that I am an international student, it's a good way to meet people from the UK, but also many other people from all over the world. If you come, you will love it!

Joining Cardiff University's Jiu Jitsu club was one of the best decisions I've made! It taught me that balance almost always overcomes strength and confidence is key. Not having done MMA before, I joined the club in my 3rd year of university (it's never too late!) and I wish I joined earlier. It's an outstanding platform to learn new skills, such as self-defence, and a really fun workout session! The instructors do a really good job in training each individual at their own pace and are very friendly. Club members are welcoming and awesome to hang out with. Highly recommend it!

Joining the Jiu Jitsu club has probably been the best decision i've made so far! My experience at Cardiff Jiu-Jitsu as a beginner has been extremely positive so far. The first thing that comes to mind is that the sensei and grades are all really friendly and patient with everyone, which makes learning this "gentle art" of self-defense enjoyable and formative at the same time. Each training session builds up the confidence to engage and defend against different opponents in various situations. Moreover, it is always nice to hang out with fellow club members for a pint after training. I have truly had a great time at socials chatting, dancing and getting to know new people. I am glad I decided to give it a go at the start of the year. I recommend Cardiff Jiu Jitsu wholeheartedly!

Jitsu is a great stress reliever, they have great teachers who bounce off each other very well and it is loads of fun! It's also the best way to meet a range of very different people who are easy to get along with. If you had to pick only 1 society, this should absolutely be your choice!!

amazingly welcoming club! The instructors have such a joy in teaching, they even do it during uni breaks! And the members make people from all ages and nationalities feel welcome. After training, they usually have a pint (or non- alcoholic drink) in a nearby pub. This club is a great place to get into material arts, and for erasmus students it's a fantastic way to experience British culture and settle down in a new country. You guys gave me the best time in Cardiff, on and off the mats, thank you so much!!

Jiu jitsu is a fantastic way to learn self defence, you’ll improve your fitness, confidence, strength and conditioning amongst many other things. It’s all done in a very safe environment meaning there is a minimal risk of injury, whilst still learning very effective techniques from our excellent instructors. I’ve only been a part of the club for a few months, but I’ve learnt so much and improved in so many different ways due to the very low pressure and easy learning environment. Join us to become part of a very friendly group who learn self defence by day and partake in amazing socials by night!

Honestly one of the best decisions I've ever made, sometimes I forget how good the sensies truly are. As bouncer Jiu Jitsu gave me the confidence to handle many confrontational situations in a calm and controlled manner. Cardiff Jitsu were like my University family. They created an environment where exercise could be fun and rewarding without the focus being on fitness. As someone with no experience in sports or martial arts, Jitsu was a complete game changer and showed how much you can achieve even with injuries etc. The opportunity to meet people and be part of a wider network of Aiuchi meant you were welcome across the country and made meeting people in new places so much easier. I may not be able to train anymore but I will always be grateful for the confidence and sense of achievement I got from the club, the fantastic teaching and support through Uni and onwards.

Honestly - Aiuchi JiuJitsu as a Gendai Martial Art is a strong self defence system based in the UK. The Welsh branch based in Cardiff is a good place for students starting out on there journey in life and Martial Arts away from there parents and love one's. With experienced and professionally qualified instructor's who have trained for years in this modern style of Martial Arts they can offer guidance and good advice on this journey of life. If you like being thrown around or throwing people around or if you want to experience and try something new weather your a student, graduate or working I'd recommend this club.
