Reviews of easyGym
This gym is located in the Capitol shopping centre in Cardiff City centre, which is convenient for me. The monthly membership fee is very reasonably priced, and it is well equipped, clean, and the effective air conditioning makes it a comfortable environment to work in. The gym staff are friendly and helpful. For members who enjoy training in a group, they also offer daily group exercise classes at no extra cost. It also has a very good physiotherapy facility, which I have found helpful.
My main reason for joining this gym was to strengthen my lower back and improve my general health. I am very fortunate to have a fantastic personal trainer, Mr Luke Routley. He has excellent knowledge about body training techniques, and is a fantastic motivator, who continues to help me push my physical limits in a safe and sustainable way, in order to achieve my health and fitness goals.
Being a member here for almost a year, I can say that I really do enjoy training at this gym. It is my favourite gym in Cardiff.
I join Easygym since more than one year, almost 5 days a week.
All the members of the staff are really friendly and helpful, also the environment over there is great, loads of young people, student, proffesionals, etc. Give you the chance to meet new people.
As a result, I recomend it 100%.
Great gym with all machines and weight racks, but contains a small free weight area. Decent price for being central on Queen Street and no contract
Great gym. New machines and good environment. Its locationin in the centre of Cardiff and the opening hours make it really convenient for most of people. Highly recommend!
Lots of equipment, but what I love the most about this gym is the amount of cardio you get from jumping over and dodging all the weights strewn around the floor. Nobody re-racks. Ever.
Wide variety of equipment Cardio, machines, free weights and studio. Pack45 is a great class with good instructors
Loved this gym, great selection of equipment, but a membership that allows you to attend other gyms in UK would give it the edge for me
There are a wide variety of machines available here, plenty of cardio machines, you will always be able to find a cardio machine to go on even at peak times there are that many, however occasionally some of the machines, such as the pull up machine towards the end of the day can be quite stiff to operate due to a lack of lubrication, likely from heavy usage which I can understand, the free weights are is fairly large but don't be surprised if you don't get the weights you want as the gym is often very busy.
as a member staff I can honestly say it one of the best gyms I have conducted my personal training from
Great location, reasonably priced membership.
PT staff very friendly and professional.
Love Pack45 classes at lunchtime!
Review:
PRO'S
- Equipment is fantastic, in great condition
- Good, central location
- Cheap monthly membership compared to competitors
- No contract, easy to cancel and only £5 to rejoin
CON'S
- Currently at a BIG risk of becoming over subscribed and way too crowded
- Certain times of the day almost unusable and no point in going as all equipment in use (5-7pm)
Big with plenty of machines and always a free one, that is a must for any modern gym. The free weight section is a bit messy and more order will do it good. Staff are not too pushy and I like that. The process to join and enter is incredible easy and price is reasonable and straightforward (not with confusing fees or extra hidden payments).
Overall a nice urban gym.
A modern and good gym, that is 24hrs and easily accessible, however it gets packed and there is not enough equipment
Affordable and in an ideal location for students to get to. Lots of really good, modern equipment and a big selection of work out classes!
19 pounds per month with no contract (25 pounds sign up fee may be waived in promotional periods)
do avoid going at high peak times if you can
Good location, machinery and opening times. It can get overcrowded 5pm onwards, making it difficult to do a decent workout.
Great gym, plenty of equipment to use to do workouts.
Great equipment but too crowdy , car park is a pain sometimes and toilets are not that clean .... equipment takes ages to be repaired....but cheap
Enjoyed my membership, but could do with some more squat racks
No one re-racks weights, the free weights are never sorted and its always pretty busy
Great staff very friendly and great equipment to and I've been working out here since it opened.
Easygym, is a great facility with an abundance of equipment and great customer service.
If - like me - you just want to stick your headphones in and zone out for an hour or so this place is ideal. If you're bothered by a busy gym then give this a miss between 4 and 7 on a week day. Other than that, it's central location, 24hr access and low fee make this a great no-fuss gym for those seeking convenience and ease of access. As other reviews have mentioned there can be a lack of gym etiquette among some members, but again this can be side stepped by avoiding peak times.
Tried using the pin for the mall from the website and it didn’t work and when i rang the bell he refused to open nor to give me the pin.
Crowded but nice equipment, fair prices
Great place, good value for money, friendly staff, great classes.
Love 24/7
Best space to work out in the city. Convenient location
Great location, friendly staff and a reasonable price.
Full of pretty blond students with huge arms
Really good equipment and always available
Easy, no-fuss gym.
Location, location, location. Important words have to be triple repeated.
Pros: Convenient location and opening times. You don't need to pay membership and that the price is very reasonable. Machines and working-out materials are good. Enough lockers. Clean bathrooms. Nice staff and atmosphere.
To be considered: Hairdryers in the changing rooms. Spinning classes would be great. Some classes during the evenings of the weekdays are very demanded (body attack, yoga, body pump and body combat) - more yoga and body combat should be considered. You can only sign up for up to 3 classes in a row so by the time you want to sign up for a class you normally go, the class is full (maybe the system should be 15 booking spaces + 5 first come first served)
I love it
Awesome gym!
Good for what you need
Needs more facilities
Standard
Equipped with everything. Personal trainers ready to give free advice to those just starting out.
(Translated) Cheap, open 24 hours and with many machines.
(Original)
Barato, 24 horas abierto y con muchas maquinas.
There's a lot of mixed reviews here - I'll try and give a comprehensive review.
Negatives:
It does get busy. Come between 5 and 7 on a weekday (especially earlier in the week) and you'll struggle to do the things you want to do. You'll feel rushed by others, and everything will just take a while longer.
Most things are automated. Most of the staff are the personal trainers, who are really lovely people, but might be busy with their clients. This has knock on effects on quality. For example, if a machine gets broken, it can be quite a while before it's fixed/replaced. But once you're in, you'll probably be fine without the need to seek assistance.
If you're looking to workout without annoyingly loud and banging music, I'd recommend elsewhere. But tell me a cheap gym that isn't like that?
Positives:
It's really good value. £18.99 a month with no contract. I go 3-4 times a week, so it's less than £1.50 a session for me. For that, you get access to the entire gym.
Personal trainers. The PTs have a range of experiences and are really friendly. I use a PT and he's introduced me to the gym really well, and I've come on leaps and bounds. Prices vary depending on each PT. They're self employed.
The gym itself is good. Avoid after work on a weekday and you'll find you can do whatever you want. Go at lunchtime, or a morning, or a weekend, and you'll be fine. It's a bit of a basic design - get used to that mix of Easy orange and grey - but for the price, it's great.
If you're looking for a city centre gym, especially on the Queen Street side of the city rather than the stadium (eg PureGym), then it does the job nicely. It should get quieter in the new year, as JD Gym is opening nearby.
Maybe not the most plush or well equipped as some of the newer gyms which have popped up, but suits me perfectly. It's 2 mins from work, the membership is reasonable, it allows you free parking in Capitol when using the gym and the staff are fab.
I have been using this gym for a couple of years now. I enlisted the help of personal trainer Kirsty Powell to help me get into strength training. The fact that I am still attending is testament to how much I enjoy, it as if I didn't, I'd be in Greggs 🤣
There are plenty of machines and free weights and additional bits of kit for plyo training etc. They also have Pack 45 classes running pretty regularly if you want something structured without the cost of personal training.
The staff are all really friendly and welcoming and Kirsty kicks my butt. I would highly recommend.
Very good facilities and the gym crew has very good advice ! It is in a very practical location, next to the center and close to the train station. There is no contract so you can join and stop or freeze your member ship very easily in the holidays when you are away for example !
I started going to EasyGym In January 2017 to have personal training sessions with Kirsty Powell. If you want someone who will build a plan exactly as you want it, whether its conditioning or strength or to mix it up with both, then she's the trainer for you. I have always hated the gym yet 20 months later I still go, that is down to Kirsty. As for the gym itself I do feel it is too small and the music too quiet.
I love Easy gym. I really enjoy all the classes, especially body pump with Lisa, and HIIT with both Lukes! I always enjoy the atmosphere in the gym, everyone is always very friendly and welcoming :) xxx
I love easyGym - its good to see a gym that doesn't make you sign up for long-term contracts. The equipment is ace... the price is low.... no contracts... great technology....its in the centre of Cardiff. Perfect.
