This gym is excellent, has more machinery you know what to do with (but with friendly staff who are more than happy to demonstrate etc.), loose weights, a functional fitness area, studio and classes (which unfortunately never got round to attending due to relocating). The changing facilities are smart, too. I would really recommend Riverside to someone looking to join a gym.

Great gym. Good equipment. Been here for years now.

It’s a lovely gym that not many people know about. I’d definitely recommend it to anyone that asked. The staff and the manager are all lovely and the gym itself is very well stocked with your choice of machinery and weights. For me, the main selling point however is the female only section, not many gyms offer that and for that reason - 5 stars.

Absolutely love this gym, as a person who was super nervous to join a gym for the first time after feeling anxious, they made me feel really welcome and took the time to show me how everything works, they genuinely cared and the juice bar is amazing! The machines and changing rooms are always kept clean. The staff are super friendly and always willing to help.

Recently joined here and I have to say, it's an ok gym, equipment is a bit dated but essentially works!! Best things are the sauna, steam and ice rooms. They also have a ladies only area which is perfect for those that aren't so confident or just like working out in a more quiet area. Changing rooms are huge and even have a tv in there, plenty of showers, hair driers and plug sockets for straighteners etc. It has to be the only gym that has 6 tv screens that you can put your headphones into whilst working out on the treadmils, bikes, cross trainer etc, plus they play all the best old school music.

Really friendly staff with a nice crowd of people. The only female space is perfectly equipped. I really don't need to go anywhere else, but when i do, I don't feel eyes on me or judgement like a lot of other gyms. My favourite gym in Cardiff by a million miles

Haven't really got much experience on the gym front but I joined here about 4 months ago as a friend has referred me. All the equipment is pretty new and in good condition, a nice variety of machines and classes. Air con is a God send on the warmer days, however I think the separate section downstairs for ladies only lacks with the air con. It always seems so much warmer than the rest of the gym. Showers and sauna available to use and a large changing room with toilets and plenty of lockers also.

Recently got admission there. The gym is on ideal location and is in the calm place. Affordable plans and ideally designed to be accessed by everyone. The equipment is well maintained. From clean lockers to the well maintained hot showers it’s all amazing. Separate hall for ladies to workout on side where even the Male staff is reluctant to go. So professional and friendly staff. Easily approachable. Free WiFi and the countless machines to target every muscle in your body. Music playlists are always latest. I’d highly recommend this gym for the locals although I’m on short stay but you can definitely take advantage of this amazingly clean and nice gym. Good luck with the fitness.

I've been a member of this gym since before it was owned by Lifestyle Fitness. Their revamp significantly improved the layout of the gym. Their prices are excellent for the facilities. The sauna, steam room, and ice room are exactly as they were from Fitness First, yet the prices are more towards a budget gym. There are only a few negatives; there was a stretch of a few months where I would go to the sauna only to find it is room temperature, or to the steam room and the steam is off. No prior notice, which made it frustrating. The other is that the water bottle fountain is very low pressure and takes ages to fill a bottle. Odd, considering the taps on the basins themselves seem very over-powered. It's near-impossible to use the hot water too, as it's painfully hot. They are aware of this, and have put up "caution hot water" signs rather than perhaps installing mixer taps. Overall rather picky negatives which hopefully says that they're doing everything else right. Very pleased to be a member here.

Excellent gym. Been a member of many gyms in the past, this is by far my favourite. Good atmosphere, friendly but not at all pushy staff to hand if needed. Excellent selection of equipment and gym and facilities always in impeccable condition!!

Fantastic gym. It's huge with so much equipment. There's a sauna and steam room too and a café area that sells shakes. They have one area here that is for women only which I think is really good for the self conscious females (or of a particular religion). Even Male staff aren't allowed in there. The price of this gym is very good considering how amazing it is. I paid for 15 months up front and it worked out at about £14 a month. There are different options for membership but I need to commit so that was best for me.

Great gym(especially for the price) got everything you need for total workout, a high quality protein/juice bar and sauna/steam rooms.. We'll worth it's 4.5 Av rating

Really good gym the staff are really friendly and helpful. I would give it 5 stars but there is a really foul smell in the ladies changing room which ruins it unfourtuantly but apart from that all good

By far the best gym in Cardiff! Not only does Lifestyle have a great range of equipment available for people of all levels and abilities, it also has a great community feel to it, which is usually a hard thing to find in a gym environment. Not only are the Personal Trainers very friendly and helpful, the General Manager, Lawrence, is always walking around to check that everybody is happy with their experience at the club and to answer and queries anybody has, which I have never experienced with other General Managers that I have come across in the past. This club definitely has the friendliest team of professionals I have ever met and I would recommend to everybody! (Also, you won't come across better post-workout smoothies/shakes anywhere else thanks to Pete!)

Great staff who are always keen to help. The gym has 2 floors so there's a wide range of equipment, from cardio, strength and fuctional. They also have a ladies only gym which many gyms don't, great idea if you are self conscious. And tne Personal Trainers are amazing.

Plenty of equipment to chose from but needs investment in some new machines and new toilets. Staff are friendly and not pushy to get clients. I see the only money being spent by Riverside Leisure is a wooden fence around the parimeter. Very strange place to start especially when asking new members to pay £20 a month!

I am overjoyed and truly grateful to Paul who happened to answer my call today when I've called the club number. Paul went beyond the call of duty to assist in finding the records of my gym membership which goes as far as 2014. I was a member of the gym then and I needed a letter to confirm just that. The letter was of critical importance to me and despite the previous attempts/calls to Hartland, the company dealing with direct debits for memberships, my payments history was still hard to be traced. Paul really made my day in helping finding the records and agreeing to help with the letter I needed. I am truly grateful for your help Paul.... Very professional attitude, politeness and willingness to help.... You are definitely a real asset to the club. Thank you!

Has everything you need out of a gym. Plenty of squat racks, bars, benches etc. Good member/gym ratio also, so even at the busiest of times you can still get a good session in, which is always a plus. Price is also competitive for what they offer.

Love this gym. It has a womens only section too which is fab if you're intimidated by hulky looking men lol.. also fab legs bums and tums class and yoga.. also the staff are super friendly and welcoming. You will not feel intimidated coming here 🤗

This place has 2 floors so I love that there's such a great variety of equipment both cardio and resistance. Slightly addicted to the juicebar here too!!
