Great experience. Very cheap and staff is amazing. I recommend Family Friday if you are going with little kids. The changing room have cubicles and you get a lot of privacy when changing. The water was warm and the staff didn't rushed us out even if we stayed quite late. Our little one loved the slide and the wave machine.

I've been bringing my little one to swim here and he loves the wave pool. The website could do with more information on time slots as we intended to use the baby pool but it was shut for lessons. There also needs to be more large family cubicles.

Absolutely positive experience. Staff is very helpful and attentive to safety. The temperature is comfy to stay in the water for more than an hour even for kids. The only inconvenience was necessity of coins for cabins and hair dryer.

I use to attend the pool as a student at then Woolverstone Hall school (now Ipswich high school). We use to attend every week. It was such a nice trip out! I met a girl called Louise here, and had fond romantic memories of her. I really liked her! Thanks to Crown Pools! (PS I am not in denial as bisexual)

It's a bit tired on the inside. The most annoying part was not being able to take my 6yr old into the large swimming pool to practise her swimming. I know there was lane swimming happening and we were supper observant to not interrupt the 2 people using it. She couldn't practice in the baby pool or wave machine pool. And we were asked to leave the big pool. Other then that gripe. Waves happen every 20mins quite strong. Loads of life guards on the side and on the ball watching people. And the band system seemed to work well for the busy period of time we were in there for. Changing rooms clean and adequate.

There are various pools with one for babies and young children, a fun pool with a wave making machine and another 25M long for swimmers wanting to swim competitively or just to keep fit. The showers and changing facilities are of a high standard.

Crown pools is a very nice pool complex. I went to swim laps which is in the competition pool. There is also a toddler/kids pool and a main pool with wave machine. Changing rooms were clean and spacious. #pool #swimming

Great pool, one small child pool, the main pool which has a wave machine which operates on a 20 minute basis & a competition pool for more serious swimmers. Unisex changing rooms with lockers & toilets & warm showers for when you come out of the pool. Always clean & tidy & not too expensive either.

Visited for the first time with my son. Not as big as I was expecting and the community pool is further limited in size by constructions in the pool area, so you're limited to splashing about rather than swimming.

Pool is pretty well kept the sauna is only small as is the steam room however its quite friendly ,there is only one toilet area and if your in sauna then you got to walk all the way back to changing room to use the toilet .

The best. Family fun, swimming lessons and an asset to our town. No slides (unless you go on an Inflatable day) but plenty of fun in the wave pool and the other water play features. The competition pool is a great facility.

Facilities are amazing, but!! Website is absolutely terrible, myself and others this morning turned up early thinking "opens at 7:30am" means the pool is actually open. The website showed last week's DAYS but drop downs for times were just empty boxes. As mentioned myself and others mentioned this at reception and the lady just whipped out her phone to say "well it's working now"... Super helpful... Also, last time I came there were loads of floats and things out, even though it was very quiet this morning, I asked a lifeguard if I could use a float for my kid, he turned and asked a slightly older teenager who just said "no, sorry, different rules on half term", what for floats? In the training pool. I asked how would I find out when the floats are being used "check the website before you come", the website that hasn't been updated since lockdown was lifted... Great! Again, excellent facilities, but the staff are completely unhelpful jobsworths who need a lesson in customer services. And whoever manages the website needs to sort it out.

The icard is great value for money in my opinion. I'm subbed to the £22 'Gym and Swim' package that might seem steep compared to private gym prices however it entitles me to discounts across multiple sports centers, utilise their facilities, access to fitness classes, can swim in multiple pools in and around the Town and many more benefits. Staff seem helpful and friendly and the Gym staff in particular are great and helpful if you're unsure how to use something or seeking advice. I'm having fun and losing weight. Would highly recommend to anybody wanting to shake Christmas and January blues! Big up IBC and pubically owned facilities and services. 5*s 😊

Very clean. Very high standards of cleanliness. The changing rooms are cleaned regularly and are reasonably warm before and after the swim. Very helpful staff, a lady helped me with finding the family changing room. All the staff were friendly. I would definitely recommend the swimming facilities. My granddaughter loved the warm training pool and the wave pool.

Had to queue for 40mins as restrictions in place which is understandable with covid and school holidays. Only leisure pool open, shame couldn't use competition pool for those that wish to actually swim lengths, but everywhere clean and well organised

Go to this pool regularly as it's convenient. It's generally very nice. A couple of times have had problems with lockers and the private shower cubicles for a proper shower are pretty grim. The changing rooms could do with a really good clean up but apart from that it's suitable for my needs.

Nice pool. The competition pool is great for lane swimming but a cooler temperature. The leisure pool is good with the wave machine every 20 minutes and is a warmer temperature. There is also a baby/learning pool which is really warm. It gets very busy so when we go as a family we try and get there for 9am or before. Not given it 5 stars as it is starting to look a little tired now and could do with a clean up in some areas. Changing rooms are a good size with family changing cubicles available too.

Only complaint would be that some of the pools were a little cool when doing nothing but sitting taking care of kids.

My children have lessons here and the instructors are all friendly and great at dealing with the kids. They rotate on and off lifeguard duties and go in the water with smaller kiddies. Lovely place.

We visit here regularly with the kids, leisure pool temperature can be sporadic, warm enough on some visits and too cold on others. Additionally on some occasions, the seal, mushroom and foot sprays are turned off with no explanation. More could be done to keep pools clean too, with what appears to be silt or dirt built up in the corners or edges of the pool. Overall an average swimming pool complex, but there are better locally.

I've been to the pool couple of time, enjoyed it each time. Two separate pools (competition & leisure), with a small warm pool available for toddlers. A fitness center available at the top floor of the building, with some workout machines and weight machines. Staff is always happy to help you, and a personal trainer is available for the fitness center; the trainer will create a week-by-week plan for you, and help you achieve your goal. It can be a little expensive, if you decide to go for the fitness plan & the pools; you can pay just for the day if you want to swim from time to time. Separate plans available if you want just fitness/pool.

A very nicely maintained public pool. It has one international size pool, one Family pool which also have wave pool and one toddler pool. There is a gym and nice siting arrangement for family who are accompanied with their kids. Enough lockers to keep your stuff. The facility has manned staff all time who are very friendly.

I haven't been to this place since it had it's refurb, of which was ~6 years ago. It's a lot better than it was. However, the cost to come here is extortionate. Such a shame, why should fitness come at such a cost? Don't get me wrong, it's a lovely place to bring children with many different events, including: inflatables, slides and of course, a wave machine.

A bit miffed that schools now have classes here three days a week which means I can now only swim Thursday and Friday mornings. Not everyone can make it in the evenings. Otherwise a good sized pool that allows plenty of room for a proper swim.

Town centre swimming pool and leisure centre. Small gym with cardio and weight machines, some free weights. The main pool is nice here, but often used by classes and galas. Leisure pool closed presently. Toddlers pool available. Small health suite (sauna/steam bath) although this often has issues, meaning one or other is unavailable. Edit (16-10-18) Happy to say the steam bath has been fixed, and has been working reliably for months now; much better. Could benefit from an overhaul, as it's 30 odd years old now. All in all, just adequate.

Typical fun pool,however the life guards (not all) are young and do not pay attention to bathers they are far too busy mucking around and not focusing on the swimmers.i complained to the management on one occasion because I felt I could not take my eyes off of my children due to the "lifeguards" playing with the floats hitting each other and mucking about I even caught one sat in the observation chair picking his nose whilst checking his phone! I was pretty annoyed at this and brought it up with the manager on exit who said he'd deal with it but I didn't leave feeling reassured that he took me seriously. I have been back since and things seen better but please don't assume that the life guards would be paying attention if your child came into difficulties.

Great swimming pool... Less chlorine would be advised I've been told off a few times for diving, I still don't understand why, it's even a beet freaky to have someone watching you all the time... The sauna area needs a bit of improvement...

Took children on Monday. Leisure pool was a nightmare. They had two large balls to play with which resulted in several older boys smashing them around unconcerned about anyone else. One couple were there with their little boy and when asked to be careful just got attitude. Kids wouldn't go in other pool as they said too cold so we left. Should allocate a time for this sort of thing as smaller children were just getting pushed and knocked into. Life guards weren't interested but it's not them that organise these things. Won't be going back unfortunately better pools elsewhere!

This is a great venue with three pools and a gym. It is right opposite the bus station and near a pub and some cafes.

Me and my lovely lady decided to go and have a nice swim in the waters of crown pools, once there we got changed in a crowded changing room and then proceeded to the pool. After stepping into the pool we eventually got use to the temperature or the water which is slightly cold, we managed to swim past all the children who where floating a round on the floats and reach the deep end, after a couple of minutes the way machine started and we had great fun bouncing up and down and getting pushed around, we decided the best way to experience the wave machine is in the baby section where the water will push you around like a ragdoll, I then went to the competition pool and set a record of 1 minute exactly, there and back which I challenge someone to beat, after that we cleaned the chlorine off in the public showers which did a fair job of this but the chlorine stayed to my skin much later on, the only thing bad worth mentioning was the dirt in the water from the plants that sit near the pool and the hair that was floating and wrapped around my arm, I feel like they need to clean it more frequently, the life guards look slightly bored and didn't seem to put full attention into scouting for danger, apart from that it was a plesent trip and we will return in the future

A fairly decent council swimming pool. Could be cleaner but it's a big place with a recreation pool, competition pool and a sauna and steamroom. Often quite busy but the staff are friendly and very helpful. Its the only swimming pool I've ever been to where the police have been waiting for someone to get out of the pool to speak with them... but I think that's just Ipswich for you tbh. 😂
