Nice spa and pool, different rooms to look around, afternoon tea was nice but not the best herbal selection. We would of had a problem if it wasn't for my friend spotting strawberries on our stand (I have a severe allergy and she had already phoned it through) but the chef and staff were very accommodating and changed it all to make sure none of the food was contaminated. They could think about adding a few more saunas on their next expansion and possibly think about turning the swimming pool heat up a bit. The new expansion is nice and clean, the gym has nice up to date equipment and no one expects any different if you walk around in a robe. The hot chocolate definitely hits the spot

Visited with a friend for a spa day using a voucher. We had to hire towels, robes or slippers, but this was OK as we came prepared after reading this online. Lovely pool and hot tub area at a comfortable temperature. The loungers weren’t the comfiest and there was no shampoo available in the showers, but we could have brought our own and had no problems. As for the afternoon tea included in our voucher, the cakes were a little dry, however we were thoroughly impressed with the catering for my lactose intolerant friend - a whole seperate afternoon tea! And it looked fantastic! Thank you Riverhills for a great day!

We had an appointment booked l, and struggled to get in due to work commitments, after speaking with the team, they managed to find a work around for us to enjoy our day. We turned up and were greeted by extremely friendly staff. The facial treatment we received was top notch, myself and my wife left that part feeling extremely relaxed and fresh. On to the sauna, steam room, jacuzzi and swimming pool, all included in our package. After enjoying ourselves, we moved onto the our full body massage….. words can not express how good it was, wow, if we had a choice we would have stayed exactly where we were, but lunch called, so, on we went, just when we thought it couldn’t get any better, again, wow, the food was amazing. I wish we knew about this place sooner, we would have 100% been more often, unfortunately for us, another country is calling, so on with our adventures, thank you Riverhills, and the whole team for making our experience amazing!

We had a spa day booked through buyagift. There were positives and negatives, but we are unlikely to go again. Positives - Staff were friendly, and polite, massage was pleasant and it was quite easy to get to. Negatives - we were not pre warned.about the roadworks and noise going on outside the massage room, so no chance of proper relaxing whilst the heavy equipment is breaking up the car park behind. Also we couldn't get into the swimming pool as they were having classes there. In addition to that, there is a huge amount of work going on with renovations which does detract from the overall experience unfortunately.

Went for a spa day with a friend. Treatments were lovely, all the therapists were very good and professional. Gorgeous lunch. 3 stars is because of reception staff who spent so much time loudly gossiping amongst themselves. Very disruptive and not very restful when you're trying to relax!

The reason 3 stars only is the afternoon tea let it down as 2 gluton free options were booked and only one was available, which resulted in illness. Beautiful, clean well maintained health spa. My friend and I went for a spa day, and had a lovely day from start to finish. The therapists were very experienced, we both had fantastic treatments plus lunch was delicious. I had the prawn salad. The spa itself is very nice, especially the steam room and sauna area. The swimming pool is all one level and the pool area was excellent. We had a brilliant day and plan to return in the new year.

Was gifted a spa day here and went in early November. The spa was lovely, clean and had a nice atmosphere. Had access to the pool and steam/sauna for the day. Had a nice back/shoulder massage and a little facial. Also had a manicure and nail paint. Would have paid extra to upgrade My nail varnish as the choice for my package wasn’t that great. Lunch was nice. My only complaint was that you couldn’t access the gym area unless you are a member. No part day membership available . You couldn’t even pay extra to use it off peak! Total missed sales opportunity to use their empty gym (off peak) just using the pool/steam/sauna got a bit boring…Still, had a good day overall 😊

Bought a day spa with afternoon tea for 2 on a deal last year. Booked and went today and had a lovely day. Full use of the swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. Warm robes and towel provided for your visit with flip flops to keep. Plenty of comfy seating and loungers to enjoy the day and chill/read etc. Afternoon tea was very nice, generously filled sandwiches, nice fresh cake selection and of course fruit scone with clotted cream and jam all washed down with plenty of filter coffee or tea. All in all a lovely day, well worth a visit if you're in need of a relax and chill out.

We enjoyed a lovely afternoon of use of the spa and afternoon tea. The facilities were clean and adequate. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our own criticism is the floor in the room where we had our afternoon tea was dirty, the area around our table there were bits of food on the floor. We were also disappointed with the coffee in the main Spa area was your basic coffee in a throw away cup would have liked to see china cups and a decent choice of teas and coffees.

If I were rating on value for money only I would have given 5 stars based on what I paid. I booked a spa day through buyagift for £100 for 2 people. This included a facial, back and neck massage, mini manicure for both of us and a 2 course lunch. We did get our moneys worth so to be critical feels unkind. That said, if we had paid full price I would have been disappointed. Firstly they have changed products, no longer using Germaine De Cappucini. The new products are not great. I didn't come away with the same lovely soft skin that I have done previously. Secondly the massage was not good. I asked for firm, I think the therapist got this confused with fast. Instead of a nice relaxing slow firm massage, I felt like I got a fast sweeping rub. Not dissimilar to the unenthusiastic massages I get from my other half. She didn't touch my neck at all. The facilities were good, the lunch was lovely and I did have a nice day with my friend. However I do think it's now time to try a different spa after many years using Riverhills and Clarice House before they changed name. Take away message, don't pay full price and you won't be disappointed.

4 of my daughters, my husband and I all visited this spa for my birthday/mother's day. We had an amazing time. We had sandwiches, cake and drinks for tea. Food was delicious and plentiful. Staff were very friendly and polite.

Lovely place, majority of staff are really friendly and happy to help with any questions etc. Really good equipment in the gym and changing rooms are well laid out with areas to change, dry hair and get ready if your going straight off to work etc. My only feedback is the cleanliness of the place, the female cleaner in the changing room did a fantastic job and it was immaculate but other days I've seen people who do a good job of looking busy but the floor area around the pool and particularly the sauna area was dirty.

I hold a gym membership here and Its fantastic!!! There are loads of classes to choose from. The gym team are very accommodating, changing classes and times to suit their members. My instructor Jackie starts our spin class at 6.40am to suit us early birds and always makes the classes challenging. Lauren made signing up so easy and everyone is super friendly and helpful.

Bought a spa day for two as a gift and after having to postpone a few times, finally got there. Staff on the day were lovely and the facilities were very good and very clean. They included: a little cafe area, a restaurant where our lunch was served and afternoon tea could be had, multiple clean treatment rooms and waiting areas, pool, steam room, sauna, hot tub and gym. The changing room lockers are coded so no need to remember your £1 which was a bonus. The reasons for the four stars and not five are the provisions for vegetarians and dairy free options for lunch were lacking, although the onion and apple soup was especially good and my companion adored her food. The music in the treatment room was quite load and pan pipes can get quite painful when turned up to 11! Unfortunately the therapists couldn't turn down only our room. Definitely by far one of the better spa days I've purchased.

This place is situated in lovely surroundings from the moment I walk through the door till the moment I left the staff were very nice and helpful to me. The treatment's I had where wonderful. Really enjoyed the steam room, sauna and swimming facilities. Private or open plan changing areas with showers and hair drying facilities. Bathrobe towel and flip-flop hire was included in our package. Also included in our package was a top rate two course meal. Very reasonably priced extras like tea and coffee and squash are available as well as alcoholic beverages. Would highly recommend a day here I certainly will be going back again 👍👍

Went here today, with a spa package for 2 that included a light lunch and a back massage. We both had a brilliant experience here. The pool was lovely and clean and a nice temperature, jacuzzi was a brilliant temperature, nice and bubbly. sauna and steam rooms lovely. The day was lovely and organised, our food was brilliant and every member of staff was lovely, welcoming and helpful. All in all we had a great experience, i couldn’t fault it. Even saw staff going around regularly cleaning which shows they are keeping up with covid regulations. Would defiantly come again and recommend to anyone

Me and my partner visited yesterday. We had the most relaxing time. The staff were so helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them. It was a lovely atmosphere. For the price we payed had a amazing day here. The pool side loungers a little uncomfortably and no pegs or stool in shower rooms to put your clothes on while showering. Staff friendly and helpful would return in near future:)

Visited with my best friend, we are very regular visitors. As always we enjoyed a first class day. Made to feel very welcome by Debbie the manager when we arrived, and booked in quickly. Our treatments were first class in lovely relaxing atmosphere. My facial was carried out by Fran, by far the best facial I have had in a number of years, very thorough wonderfully relaxing. We also had massages, which again were fantastic. The food was fantastic, it was really difficult to choose what to eat as the menu has lots of options. All of the staff are very Covid aware, and even in these difficult times they strive to make sure your day is special. We will be back very soon.

My daughter treated me to a Spa day with lunch and two treatments for my birthday. In spite of ringing before hand and asking at Reception on arrival I was assured that the robes were one size and would fit anyone. Mine would not go around me comfortably and was far too short as I am 5ft 10in tall. Surely I could have been offered a man's robe which would be more ample. This spoilt my bathing experience. Also the flip flops were marked medium. I am a size 8 in shoes. It would be better to hand these out on arrival to ensure correct size. The music was very loud for the aerobics class but I could put up with that but not a very restful environment. The lunch and treatments were first class but the robe provided was umwearable. I had to get dressed for lunch and treatments as I couldn't walk around decently with the robe. Surely a few large size robes could be provided. The rest of the day was so good.

My friend and I visited Riverhills spa as part of a buy one get one free May offer. We paid £117.50 each which felt reasonable as it included 4 treatments and a two course lunch, but had we paid the full price of £235 each I think we’d have felt a bit ripped off. Some of my personal niggles: - the flip flops provided were knotted together with a piece of rough brown string which I couldn’t untie so I had to walk barefoot to reception to get them to cut it which seems a bit to defeat the point of providing them - While I highly rate the quality of the massage I received, the set up/decor of the therapy room and having to lie for an hour on a scratchy paper towel made me feel more like I was in a dentist’s room - The therapy rooms appear to overlook a busy road, the windows were kept open. I’m very sound sensitive, but for me the sound of traffic at some points was very loud that I couldn’t actually hear the spa music and it made the experience less relaxing. Perhaps the windows could be closed and fans provided instead if the rooms are too warm? - I also wasn’t given the option to choose my oil blend, despite the spa menu staying this would be the case. - I can’t fault my facial but it would be a nice addition to provide an info sheet of the products used - Lunch was disappointing - given the usual full price, I’d have expected at least the choice of a hot or cold drink to be included, but we had to pay for any drinks other than tap water - I ordered the Goat’s Cheese, Caper, Tomato, Basil and Sourdough Panzanella Salad as a starter - I had half a piece of cherry tomato, several croutons drowned in olive oil, far too many capers and the ‘salad’ consisted of a few leaves displayed around the edge of the plate - if I’m being generous, one of these may have been a piece of basil, but otherwise overall the basil and tomato portion was severely lacking - During lunch I noticed at least two members of staff were wearing their masks below the nose - totally pointless and ineffective - The pool facilities were generally very nice, however the seating - especially in the outside area - were in a poor state. Given the pandemic I’d have expected to see staff regularly wiping these down between customers for hygiene purposes, but given the huge black marks on the backs of our robes after sitting in them I think it’s safe to assume this wasn’t happening - I’d be surprised if the tables and chairs had ever been cleaned. The outdoor sun loungers had peeling paint and splintered wood - Generally customer service was excellent and everyone was very helpful when we needed something, including exchanging our robes when they were black from sitting in the chairs and because my friend found hers to have a hole in I think if these issues above could be rectified the spa could feel much more inline with its luxury price tag. All of these, however, pale in significance next to my mani pedi treatments which were quite simply the worst I’ve ever had. I was seen by Tracey, who was very friendly and chatty but would maybe be better suited to a position at front desk than giving treatments. The state of my nails after my treatments was frankly laughable with wonky filing, cuticles pushed back (quite painfully I might add) but not trimmed away, paint patchy with whole sections left unpainted and paint left around the skin in my nails that wasn’t cleaned away with any remover. I did ask for several nails to be filled in where the paint didn’t reach the tips of my nails, but it was still such a mess that in the end I just sat back and let her get on, fully intending to just remove it all when I got home. Honestly, my 4 year old niece could have done a better job and as it was my last treatment of the day it did mean the experience ended on a bit of a negative and made me feel less Inclined to return. Overall, I’d only go back if the price was more in line with the quality of the facilities and experience - and I’d ask for a different beautician for a mani pedi!!

Lovely place. Staff really friendly only thing was the treatment beds in dire state. Found flicks of the white plastic/ leather on my skin and floor really need to be recovered. This cannot be hygienic and be cleaned properly. Bit of a shame that a full body scrub did not include stomach and above breast area as my friends did ? Food amazing.

Spa Day and Afternoon Tea Felt very welcome on arrival and the staff there were very accommodating, lovely and kind- really top notch! We were a little worried as we are both deaf and masks are compulsory making communication difficult (to lipread, you need to see lips!) but most of the staff wore large clear face shields making lipreading easier. Swimming pool was relaxing and so was the hot tub- very clean too. (Steam rooms and sauna was not in service due to COVID guidelines but they did look very spacious!) Afternoon tea was presented well and was well and truly stuffed afterwards- the chicken sandwich was lovely and worth it. Stayed at the spa until the early evening to make the most of it. An ideal getaway if you need to escape the hustle and bustle of London!

Nice big pool but the water was not that warm, the food was lovely and the steam and sauna rooms are very large and very hot. We had a neck back & shoulder massage and it was good. We used this spa because it was a resent of a Groupon vouvher and you do not get the robes, towels or the flip flops free, but you didn't need them we took our own and paid £1 for a towel.

Relaxing adult oriented favouring the non-fanatic exercisers. 16m pool very pleasant at quiet times. Limited space and skills for classes but they offer a good opportunity for developing friends as well as fitness. Showers, steam room and jacuzzi all a bit cool but probably more pleasant in warmer weather.

Price of robe and slippers hire a bit excessive compared to other spas who offer them as complementary.......let's face it these spa days are not cheap. First time I booked this place my appointment was lost and was treated as if it was my fault that I didn't receive a confirmation email from them. Took me 6 months before I could actually get an appointment because of the first event and then I had to extend my voucher and reschedule. At this point I had still not received a confirmation email. I had to check every week to make sure they sent me one. Even once the emails were sent supposedly my email somehow yet again was missed. Once my appointment finally arrived, I had a back massage and facial in the morning then lunch and a pedicure in the afternoon. There are different types of massages and maybe one of the other massages would have been what suited me but I was rather disappointed. The walls in the room had oil hand prints on them and splattered oil as well. The massage was very light and I told the girl to be firm. It was slightly relaxing but was not what I expected and lasted about 30 mins.I did enjoy the facial massage. It was very nice and relaxing. The pedicure was another disappointment. I'm accustomed to having my feet soaked, cleaned, nails trimmed, feet and legs massaged when I receive a pedicure. My nails were cleaned, trimmed and painted. On a positive note, the staff members were all very friendly and nice. The facilities were cleaned, other than the massage room, and there were various things to do in between treatments, such as aromatherapy, pool and steam. Lunch was amazing and was probably my favourite of the whole trip. With every trip there are pros and cons, I would suggest asking details about services before you decide so you are getting exactly what you want.

Had a spa day Friday 27th April and was disappointed as when there previously I felt the times actually doing treatments were very short and therefore had my fitbit on this time. For example our massage time was 9am, we got called in at 9.04am, asked to take off robes whilst masseus left the room and then returned at 9.10am, we did wonder if they'd forgotten us and then massage was finished at 9.24am. 14 minutes is not acceptable, the facial lasted 19minutes and pedicure 21minutes. When paying for my J2o and 2 filter paper cup coffees and a biscuit the lady at the counter said £8.00, I said I realise the j2o was £2.50 but surely the small paper cup filter coffees aren't well over £2 each as last time I paid cash and they were about a pound. Lovely day with the bride tribe lunch was lovely and enjoyed by all spa was lovely with steam room (ooa)but opened later that day sauna was lovely too and enjoyed a swim in the package. I had a treatment but not the one i chose said i had to go back to reception for them to help so not helping instead had the facial but wanted the back massage really but assist said that if i did go down stairs to ask why i didnt have the treatmnt i wanted 'it would impinge on my treatment time' was a bit miffed but when she finished i did feel good.also as i had been swimming for most of the day etc my robe was very wet i didnt feel i could ask for another one as maybe i might get charged extra All in all i still had a good experieñce but it was the little things

Just got home from a day at Riverhills. Full body massage, facial , pedicure and manicure all performed by Edina, I was very impressed by her professional approach and skills in making my visit so relaxed and enjoyable.thankyou Edina.😊. My wife and I relaxed around the pool which backed on to a small external area. An area that could do with a good tidy up.While across the pool to the outside area where there were plastic loungers I too feel that a tidy up and more modern sun beds would not go a miss.In general we enjoyed the hospitality of the staff .
