A Good Clean 24 Hour Chain Of Gym's All Over The Uk . And Set Out So Every Equiment Can Be Used . Helpful Staff & Cleaners . Personal Trainer / Classes On Diffent Memberships .

Pretty good but lacking some clips for the machines. Can also get quite busy although theres always parking. The owner acknowledging the fact that gyms get busier is fair. Although having more clips for some of the equipment is something that could be fixed easily and would make the gym less busy as people would not be queuing for equipment and make it less busy
o. m.
Not crowded. No bad atmosphere. Plenty of equipment. The app tells you how many people are currently using so you can plan your visit. Still enjoying it six months in

Jamie one of the workers handled my request perfectly.Clean basic gym, good air con.Really impressive ,I will be returning with membership as enjoyed my 28 day.

Pure Gym is a GEM for people like us.
The only thing i am not happy about them, they dont encourage or instruct people to return the weights once they have used it. People leave it on the floor here and there.
S. B.
Otherwise though, I like the self service aspect of the gym. Put in a code and you're free to enter any time of the day (assuming you have the correct membership). I like a minimum of hassle and it certainly achieves that.
The newer equipment is cheaper, feels bad, and is not rubberised. So any dumbbell-together exercises are actually now more dangerous than before, because the dumbbells slip and shift all over the place due to the incredibly cheap plastic shells (no more hex presses!). I actually got an injury attempting this, having had no problems with the previous equipment. This is all just so pure gym can have their own logos on the equipment - even if it sacrifices quality.
I have other minor complaints but they're not worth voicing really especially when there are more pressing issues.
TL;DR
- Good atmosphere.
- Very clean.
- Not much hassle.
- Lack of equipment (due to the overwhelming numbers of members). More equipment should be purchased!
- Equipment is quite poor and downright dangerous.

Good value for money, I have been to gyms that cost way more, with a contract, that had equipment falling to pieces, in the middle of nowhere. This one is central, no contract and you can cancel your direct debit without penalties, despite the heavy usage I rarely have to wait long for any piece of equipment, and it's well maintained and clean, plus the top tier actually is value for money in that you can visit most of the other Pure Gym branches if you travel for work, like I do.
Their Aircon works well so the gym is rarely stuffy but I wish they'd put shades on the side facing the Sturgess where the leg press is, when the sun hits that window it's like an oven on that corner and the glare makes it hard to workout. The members here, unlike on some other gyms I've been to, seem to be more mindful, considerate of others and generally not douchey, with some even offering to alternate with you on the equipment during busier times.
Definitely better than the St Georges Way branch. New treadmills and free weights installed in February 2020 but some of the machines need a little TLC. Some of the fake leather padding on the machines have rips on some of them, but nothing gross or that stops you from using the equipment, just can get uncomfortable when it rubs on your skin. They fixed the lack of water issues, now the water fountains and faucets always have water. Soap dispenser got fixed too in the male CR. Missing yellow weight pins on some machines. Not enough black strappy handles.
2 1/2 hours free parking for gym members is ace.

My fav locations to do my training ...what's really anoying me is that when the place is full and no space anywhere to do anything
Z. A.
Usually visit in the evenings but I get a good workout in. Sometimes a little smelly but decent gym
V. B.
Parking is way better than in Georges Way, Leicester and is free. In general it is common that these gyms are packed all day except for the night time. Occasionally at night showers/toilets are not accessible, however the individual/disabled toilet is available, although cleanliness of it is not great due to frequent use. If you know your strenght routine and want to go in, do the hard work and go - might not seem so easy as spots/equipment are busy and you might end up cooling down while waiting for the next equipment/spot to be accessible. I personally go late in the evening and had no trouble so far. Way less people, more productive time. Although if you are more in to cardio, there's plenty of equipment throughout the day.

Gym equipment in poor condition, much of it rusted, hand grips' rubber has deteriorated. Always very busy, busier than St George's, Bodytrax app doesn't work, no QR code scanner on first door to get in. Too few cleaning stations. Weights are always a mess and you feel like you're on display in a zoo with the big Windows. Poor parking.
Good range of equipment. Screens between treadmills. Good social distancing. Plenty of hand sanitiser. Drinks fountain and machine actually work. Free weight section is spacious.

Amazing gym, with good quality equipments!

I have visited PureGym in St. George's street and then this one at Walnut Street. I would definitely say this is the best one out of these two. The parking isn't big enough but the gym itself is much better.
K.
I personally think this pure gym is a great one for anyone of all sizes and shapes. It's a very welcoming gym and there's no pressure from other people or trainers when you go in. There's plenty on offer including a great yoga instructor and the free weights and machines are never really overcrowded. The 24/7 option is amazing for anyone wanting to plan accordingly and the machines are clean and kept to a high standard. You get the standard people who waste time or are too busy chatting or even the meathead hogs but you can get a full workout no problem.
H. A.
A few of the machines need a little tlc but otherwise its was good.
J. M.
Fantasticka posilnovna tu si viem zamakat a potrapit svoje telo :-) A fantastic gym here I know to sink my body and shape the figure

Now is much better, they moved all equipment, bought more equipment, looks much better. Still busy between Monday and Friday. 17:00 - 22:00 sometimes around 175 people. Weekends less. Night time from midnight gets better around 20 - 30 people. At 3am only 5 - 15 people and gets busier from 6am. 17:00 - 22:00 you will be very lucky if you will find where to park a car, VERY LUCKY. Go and check yourself it not gonna cost you money. And after midnight changing rooms is closed, and only 1 disable shower and 1 toilet is open, only cleaner, no staff.
J. D.
Good gym with all the training equipment. Centrally located and open 24 hours with PIN entry. General cleanliness good except they do not provide any Antibacterial wipes for cleaning equipment before and after use. Peak hours gets busy so certain equipment use have to wait for access.
k. e.
Really enjoy this place. If you want a no fuss gym then this is for you. Gets busy at peak times like all gyms but I never struggle to use equipment. 24hrs is a great bonus for my lifestyle
S.
I go here most days, great gym, good equipment and lots of classes included in the membership. Changing rooms are large and have adequate private showers. Car parking is quite often a nightmare so it's nearly always full in the gym car park and you have to be careful where you park locally due to residents only on most streets and restrictions on event days at the King power stadium which mean a ticket if you don't see the poorly placed event day signs. I've found a street nearby that has cheap on street parking which is useful
J.
I'm not much of a gym goer so when I got a membership for this place I don't have anything to compare except the leisure centres. It's very modern inside and plent of machines. The studio for most of the classes is a lot smaller than I expected and there is only one as well. The car park can be a nightmare and sometimes you are waiting 30 minutes for a space, definitley not big enough and with more people joining the gym it will only get worse.
k. b.
Great place to train, clean and easy. I have been going for 1 1/2 hours for a month and dropped a stone in weight. Love it.
Z. T.
I use the gym had a nice refurb. Great equipment and very good classes only downfall is a lot of cardio machines always have chewing gums inside it’s gross and Unhygienic however it’s selfish customers to blame for that they need to check for chewing gum more often but other than that it’s a great gym
F. B.
Great gym with good equipment
J. S.
Great gym, with sufficient equipment. However, as the price is cheap compared local gyms, the gyms busy periods usually mean finding time on your favourite machine or in the free weight section is hard to come by.
k. k.
Good gym overall. It's clean and has lots of equipment and has free parking.
What would be better if they had boxing facilities.
O. K.
Great little gym good equipment does what you need open 24/7. Only one issue parking isn't great always seems to be full even when the gym itself isnt busy. I believe of it being close to the university I think students are also parking their cars there.
G. R.
Cool gym but too crowded at 18:00
Still good because it's 24/7
S.
A good gym with decent equipment. The parking is a nightmare if you go in the evenings. I usually go to the Spin classes and most of the bikes have a broken monitor which is quite annoying during the class when you need it.
C. H.
Excellent selection of machines. Hardly ever a queue. 3 power racks and 2 Smith machines. Good selection of weights with many copies of each. Friendly staff and guests.
Excellent gym for the money. Suits occasional visitors on a daily rate or regular members for only £20 a month. A bargain.
K. H.
Really good gym for the price.
Came here for a early morning session as couldn't attend my box in the evening and I was extremely impressed by the quality of the equipment.
Oly bars, bumper plates and platforms for oly lifts/deads. Functional area also has really good equipment, I.e sleds and wall balls.
Only criticism I have is dumbbells were in no order which isn't the gyms fault and is a minor inconvenience.
K. H.
I've just joined this place after being a member of a much more expensive gym of a few years. The equipment is all good quality and there is so much of it there isn't a problem getting on what you need. Good mix of people - lots of women. Turnstiles haven't been a problem for me and there is a big carpark at the end of the road which is free after 6pm (I've also been able to use it free at the weekend). Not sure what it will be like on a match day but that's only once a fortnight in the winter so I'm sure I'll work around it.
N. K.
Was a regular at this gym during my postgraduate studies. This gym has it all, variety of free weights, machines and cleanliness. Open 24 hours a day every day, lots of promotions, lots of space and friendly stuff.
F. W.
This gym is great on weekends when its empty.
When its busy, (eg after work hours) there is not enough small weight free weights eg 2kg 3kg 4kg. Please can you get some more.
Also Pure gym have the technology to be able to book classes online which is great but youd think theyd also be able to remove/block a class if the instructor is ill so that you dont go to the gym only to find it written on a piece of paper.
For the money this gym is good but there are a few little things that would make this gym so much better.
E. H.
Good gym for the price.
Free weights area seems to always be at max capacity whereas the huge cardio area is never at more than 50% capacity.
Car park gets busy but it's good they have such a large one
Weird pod doors take ages to let people through causes bottle necks at times when classes start and finish. Maybe the doors could be manned at times of classes.
Edit: this gym is regularly putting money back in to improve facilities and services. And they always ensure works are undertaken at quite times.
New showers.
Free weights area was made bigger and cardio area compressed a little. Also they got more racks for squating and bench press which they desperately needed.
Free weights area could be bigger still as they've now put machines in it which take up a lot of space.
I don't like how the free weights and cable machines are at opposite ends of the gym so you have to keep going back and forth to find free equipment.
Separate cycle studio now so hopefully this cuts out on the load music bothering everyone else.
I like that there's squat rack in the 'functional area' as lots of girls are starting to squat now and many don't like to go in the free weights area.
In my opinion though the functional area isn't the best use of space. It's an area about a quater the size of the free weights area which could hold quite a few people but as a functional area is only used every now and again by a personal trainer. It's good to have but I feel space is at to much of a premium to justify it.
It does allow the gym to appeal to more people though as it is a gym for all, not just bodybuilders.
To summarise, great gym for the price, busy at peak times but that's coz it's so cheap, and just when you think about changing gym they upgrade the facilities.
M. A.
Great value for money, though there are a lot of students using the gym so it can get extremely busy. If you come at certain times the gym will be empty enough for you to have a great session without time constraints
s. j.
Good layout.
Showers lack hot water.
T. “. G.
Has almost everything you'd need, sweet and nice place to exercise

PureGym Limited is a chain of no frills health clubs in the United Kingdom. The chain is based in Leeds and has gyms across the UK. It is Britain's largest gym chain by membership, being the first to gain 1,000,000 members. It has plans to open 300 gyms by 2020.Most locations are open 24 hours a day and offer cardio equipment, fixed and free weights, and exercise classes. There are no swimming pools or saunas, which are found in more expensive gyms.

Super, super, super
T. S.
Parking is always full for some reason even with 2 members inside the gym. The entrance system is ridicolous at best, recognising your PIN only when it wants too, and God forbids you need assistance. Staff is always absent and of the 2 terminals outside only 1 works and is very slow. There is an abundance of cardio machines and a tiny weightlifting area. Recently the wall that divided the cardio machines and weights area got removed so it's not as claustrophobic as before but the area is still extremely small. Unfortunately nobody respects gym etiquette and you will find weights all over the place and members using equipment inappropriately or hogging equipment for hours and staff never intervenes not even when asked to. Nightmare. Use only as a last resort due to the fact that it's open 24/7.
N. M.
Plenty of equipment for everyone. It does get busy due to the university students nearby however the staff are very friendly and always there to help. They should provide antibacterial wipes for the equipment. Also the air con is terrible it is too warm to exercise. It seems that the air con does not work this is the only reason I gave it a 3 star
M. I.
Its the best gym i have been in Leicester and the cleanest imo. There were some bad apples when i was going that were like spitting on the floor or some using the equipment barefoot that kinda disgusted me but you cant do much about that, only suspend their memberships.
Like usual the worst hours is between 6-8 which is like a thailandese market full of people.
Everything else is ok.
s.
I was there a few years back. Gym was great. Amazing free weights equipment, plenty of cardio machines and they have a huge empty room with mirror with fantastic classes.
Staff - One thing i dont like about this gym is one of the trainers. He looks a bit like messi, but a shorter version. There were a couple of instances where he pissed me off.
I was doing light squats the other day, this arhole came to me and said "do you mind if i warm up with your working weights".. he then emphasised that he was warming up with my current weight, which in Gym lingo is considered a disrespectful statement. The next thing I know, this guy brought his client to workout on the squat rack without even asking me.
Another one, I was sitting down at the locker area putting on my gym shoes, and this messi short stuff came and cleaned one empty locker with a feather brush for no reason at all. Why this bothered me was becasue that locker was literally above my head and it was a clean locker in the first place. He then went away laughing with the other trainer~
Having said that, the staff are great. For future clients, please avoid Messi short stuff. nuff said

My first visit of this gym was little bit confusing. After entering the building I found out, that there is no reception, instead which there was just two computer station via which I should bought the entry pass. Of course I didn't know that and there was no sign or note about it somewhere on the wall. After I asked some people around I managed to get inside, where I found out that I should bring my own locker if I want to have my stuff locked in the locker. Of course I didn't know that as well, so I had to have unlocked everything. Otherwise the gym is ok, a lot of machines, dumbells, mats, mirrors pretty much everything what you could need on your training. But they really should add some section on their website "How to join our gym" for new people, cause I was really about to leave, when someone helps me to get inside.
M. U. P.
A good gym. The only problem is that the gym gets overcrowded as hell. I mean, how many people do u want working out in the gym at the same time. U might not even be able to do a hip twist without bumping into someone. They expanded the weights area which is a good thing. Equipements have been added. The best time to workout is by afternoon or late night..
A. G.
Best gym in Leicester. Has all the equipment for each kinds of workout. The membership cost is a bit high though, and it can be really busy in the afternoon/evening.
N. R.
Enough space for that price. Cheap gym. Sometimes overcrowded but 24hrs open.
Some machines needs fixing quite often but you got different choices instead. Big room for classes and own workout.
k. p.
This Gym has loads of cardio machines and weights(room for weights is smaller and can get full fast on peak hrs). The gym can become full at times, i think this mainly because of the university, I'm a student and this the the go to gym because it's 24/7. Having said that because i'm student and this is a ten min walk i go to it on off peak times. I also wanted to say i have never seen a gym this clean before which is a big plus in my books. Some previous post talk about 'complicated door systems', you will have to remember i think it's a 8-9 digit code to get in but if you go everyday it's not too hard. This code is so you can get into the gym at any time day/night and not have to worry about random people coming in. More for security reasons which i prefer because it means this gym is serious.
The membership scheme is good as well, i paid monthly but when i got too much work e.g. dissertation, i knew i wouldn't go, so i 'freeze-ed' my account online for two months and payment went down to 5.99 month. You can cancel your account but if you want to go back you have to pay I 'joining fee' that will cost you more in the long run. unless the uni yr is over.
N. R.
Pretty damn good. Only reason not a 5 is because there are a few machines that are limited unless your only about cardio. Other than that pretty good. Everything you need. Can get a little busy but manageable.
S. O.
Its lower than "what you pay what you get". As someone already said- 75% area is for running machine and small room for weight. Queuing up to get the weight machine behind 2/3 persons. They need to put more focus on weight area than investing on running machine. £20 is still a lot for running machine.
