Barre is my favourite training from now on. Teachers are very helpful when you need to correct techniques to perform better and work out the right muscles. Classes here are never boring as they add diverse exercises EVERY time. After one month I see transformation in my body, got twice stronger and more enduring, lost 4 cm in thigh, got lifted belly and neck and even cheeks( because of intense breathing:) And absolutely welcoming and helpful ladies at the reception. Love this studio and the shake it gives me

I’ve enjoyed visiting while traveling in London (taking several classes). The location was convenient, the studio is nice, the staff was friendly and the workout was challenging. It reminded me of my home barre studio in the states. Classes are small and not too overwhelming. Showers and other amenities. Instructors are thorough and provide detailed instruction. Highly recommend to locals and visitors.

I have been going to classes at the BARREtoned studio since March! And it is safe to say that I am obsessed. As I was planning my wedding, I wanted to find a type of workout that was equally enjoyable and challenging - BARREtoned classes do just that! The journey the instructor team took me on was nothing short of amazing. My body has truly transformed, not only making me feel more comfortable in my own skin (more so than I maybe ever have) but has also provided me with new focus and insight on how I can challenge myself in every single class, in every single exercise we do that day.

I have been exercising in gyms and various classes over the years and never got the results I wanted. I had heard about Barre classes and was so excited when BarreToned launched in April 2013. I went to try out a class and haven't looked back since. I was welcomed by a very friendly team and this continued through to the classes with very enthusiastic, friendly and motivating instructors. It is the first form of exercise where I have been surprised how quickly the hour has flown by and how much I have enjoyed it! The instructors take the time to correct your positioning and so you feel like you get fabulous personal attention, like no other class. It is clear that the passion the founder instructors have in the exercise has extended to all the team and I am truly a BarreToned addict! I have had so many compliments about my changing physique and am well on my way to the long and lean body I always wanted. My improved posture, flexibility and strength has helped me immensely.

I became addicted to barre classes after having discovered them in the United States. The exercises provide fast results, and have the benefits of strengthening and lengthening muscles while promoting flexibility and proper posture. Upon moving to London, I was thrilled to know that I would be able to continue this practice at BARREtoned. Workout aside, it was an added bonus to walk into my first class in Notting Hill and be welcomed by an incredibly friendly staff. From the people at the front desk to all of the instructors, BARREtoned does an incredible job of making each client feel valued and part of a special community. During class, the instructors give personal attention to everyone in the room, creating a sense of having a personal trainer amidst a supportive group of people whose collective goal is to be strong! Cheers to BARREtoned for bringing this amazing class to London!

I have been taking BARREtoned classes for almost two years and have always thoroughly enjoyed them. I don't live close to the Notting Hill studio now, but try to fit in a class whenever I can because the quality (especially the personal attention) is much better than in most gym classes. All instructors (especially Katharina and Esther) are warm, welcoming and inspiring and they make sure that you do the exercises effectively and safely. It's impressive how they always remember everyone's name and special conditions, even if they have a bunch of new people in class. I love how they don't let you "cheat" and make you push yourself to get the best results. And it has been worth it! I have definitely seen visible improvements in muscle tone and flexibility, and I always walk out of the class feeling strong and reenergised.

Simply wonderful/hard/exhilarating workout that every girl should try and stick with it for a while, or at least one month.
It is tough. But not in the rough sense and you won't get injured. You will acquire a lovely ballerina posture whilst hiding the strength of a composed wrestler! :-)
I went back to my swimming after some months @ BARREtoned and I acquired so much core strength that even my everyday activities have changed for the better.
Ps About the 'though' instructor i read about in the previous rather negative google reviews.. Very sad. Yes, she is lovely but tough and disciplined, in a VERY good way. She will challenge and push you to the limit and that takes caring for teaching. She is one of the best instructors.

Barretoned is defenitely my favourite workout in London. I’ve tried several different studios but never felt the same as I do here. It’s not just that the workout has made my body fit and helped improve my posture, I always feel welcomed by the friendly team when I step through that door. Instructors are very professional and work hard to get their students exercise correctly to prevent injuries. Love this place!

BARREtoned is brilliant - it works! From the first class, there have been visible results to my body which are astounding. I achieved much more in twenty BARREtoned hours than a year of 1:1 Ashtanga yoga back in my twenties.
If you want to skulk around at the back of an exercise class hoping you won't be noticed, then BARREtoned is not for you. What stands out is that the friendly instructors really care about you maintaining correct form in the exercises and stretches so that you maximise the return on your effort. You are addressed by name and some times they will manipulate your body to support you getting into the right position. What is great is that the classes are clearly structured, challenging for all levels of fitness and exercises are varied. Plus, you will be consistently encouraged with positive feedback "great shaking!" which fuels motivation when legs have turned to jelly.
A year on and the benefits keep on coming: measurably stronger, fitter, more flexible than I ever thought possible and clear muscle definition. Plus, I'm 'officially' half an inch taller due to improved posture!

I love BARREtoned! I've done similar group classes for years in the US and London, including different forms of Pilates and barre and the BARREtoned is one of my favorite workouts ever and definitely in London. It goes deep into my muscles and shapes them in a very nice way; they are really long and toned now. I've been doing BARREtoned for a year now (3-4 time a week because I am obsessed:) and it has really reshaped my body, I feel so ready for yet another season!
Moreover what made me stick to barre is the quality of the instructors. Girls take an amazing care of their clients. They take time to make corrections and I feel like they know my body so well and know how to challenge me to make the most out of the workout. I've been recently changing flats and I decided to stay in the same area because of the BARREtoned. Now I know what they mean by "Once you go to barre, you never go back", although it does not rhyme:).

After many years of running, I discovered barre classes and became completely addicted to this method. It provides a true full-body workout, hitting all of the major muscle groups, which makes me feel more truly fit and balanced than most other fitness regimes. The instructors at BarreToned are also fantastic. They are truly dedicated to helping students achieve their best results, constantly providing corrections, challenges, and encouragement ("I know you can go farther!"). Classes include students at various experience and fitness levels, but the instructors provide appropriate modifications or challenging options to make sure that everyone can find the right level of intensity. The BarreToned team have also done a fantastic job building a community in the studio - I love walking in to a chorus of cheerful hellos from instructors and fellow students. BarreToned has become an absolutely essential part of my daily routine!

I started Barre some time ago as an alternative to weight training in the gym, admittedly slightly sceptical and a little apprehensive (there aren't many blokes who go yet!). BARREtoned has introduced me to an extremely effective balance of training that includes strengthening, stretching and toning. Moving through the exercises and various forms at a rate that keeps you aerobically stretched too. My flexibility has improved no end and I feel healthy and energized as well. Before, during and after class the team of instructors at BARREtoned are friendly, accommodating and inclusive towards all participants - they know everyone's name! I noticed early on that the instructors were catering to individual's past or existing injuries by using specific modifications to some of the exercises - that impressed me! They have pushed me and make me challenge myself every time I take part. I find it a powerful and infectious way to gain full body fitness and to keep improving core, upper body and lower body strength. I seriously doubt I will use a gym again thanks to the professional instruction and personal approach at Btoned.

As a former dancer, I love re-living my dancing days at the BARREtoned barre in Notting Hill. The founders, Esther + Katharina, are fantastic. Unlike many other fitness instructors, they truly care about their clients. They take the time to chat to newcomers before class to understand their health + fitness goals, during class they provide helpful corrections, + afterwards stick around to see how new clients feel. As a former marathon runner, I was always getting injured but BARREtoned is something that I can do for the rest of my life as it's easy on the joints. I've tried countless fitness regimes (yoga, bootcamps, pilates, spinning) but nothing beats BARREtoned :)

I was a huge sceptic of any kind of exercise that was not hard core cardio, intense boot camp or any other similar form of staying in shape until I discovered Barretoned. It changed the way I think completely about body strength and made me addicted to this form of exercise. Main reason for this is the highly experienced, educated, professional and serious staff lead by the highly dedicated owner of the shop (there is no huge commercial corporation behind this place but it is a privately owned boutique). They make sure that you are always doing a 100% right thing throughout the class. They offer hands on corrections (they would not even start the class without knowing everyone's name) making this one hour long workout feel like you are in a 100% personal training (but done in a group which is great for the doze of extra motivation).
The studio is high quality making this place absolutely worth your money. I have tried other places for Barre exercise and I still did not find anywhere in London that compares to Barretoned level of expertise, professionalism and staff knowledge when it comes to this form of exercise (not to mention that other places charge the same amount of money for much lower quality of workout).
I would recommend this to everyone who takes their workout seriously (everywhere else you go you will feel ripped off as other Barre places don't even bother remembering your name and not to talk about actively correcting you throughout the class).

I wasn't crazy about the idea of a barre-based class - not my "type" of workout - but a friend encouraged me to try it out. To my surprise, I have really come to enjoy it! I learn a lot each class both from the instructors and other students. It's been a great change from my usual routine.

I cannot rave enough about Barretoned and all the fantastic, encouraging, supportive trainers who work there. It has changed my mind as much as my body, reducing stress and increasing strength. Plus my back ache has all but disappeared and I stand straighter. Anyone who feels, like I did, that exercise is never going to be anything but a huge chore giving barely noticeable results, I urge you to give Barre a go. There really is something out there which actually does what it says it will (ie pretty quickly gives you the body you want) and honestly becomes something to look forward to rather than dread. I finally have a body that doesn't depress me at the thought of bikini season and I'm no longer the girl at the back of the class, desperately counting down the minutes until I can escape the gym. Truly, this works.

Utterly incredible.... after just two classes my whole body was 'lifted'! My bum was less saggy and there was instant tone all over. I have never had such a fast result from any other sport or fitness exercise and I do a lot. But beware! If you are not used to this, be prepared for achy muscles the following day. Fabulous stuff.
