Having two active girls I looked into taking them to boxing classes. Having heard good things about ELBA I decided to give them a try. I was always a bit wary as you often wonder whether the girls will get as much attention as the boys.
However I was extremely impressed with the attention to detail given to young kids, be them girls or boys. The kids absolutely loved the session, which included circuits, bag work, basic boxing technique. The coaches gave so much attention to the kids and the girls were treated equally. The session was conducted in a fun manner which helped the kids to engage. They came out of the first session having found a new passion for boxing. They've attended ever since. Thank you ELBA

The best amateur boxing club in this country possibly as the coaches really take time in developing you and giving you realistic goals to take your skills to the next level. The training is amazing and is planned to help with your fitness in mind and developing your technique and core skills for those who wish to compete. The coaches are very experienced and you will have very high level sparring in comparison to other clubs.

Amazing atmosphere and aura. The Club is very professional and the coaches put in a lot of effort into welcoming new boxers. 100% of the clubs profits go into the club itself aswell as creating very good opportunities for the boxers who train there.

This is the best boxing club in the area and probably in London soon. They are most welcoming whether you are a starter or been boxing a while, they treat you the same. The club is diverse, just look at their show posters and see the different fighters from different backgrounds. They are a fully affiliated club with England boxing and just search their name, they produce boxing champions every year, from London champions to National champions but teach all levels. The coaches seem very devoted, professional and knowledgeable. Also the coaches are all fully qualified. I have not experienced any bullying behaviour as one review suggested and found the members respectful.

This is an amazing, small, community focused boxing club. I go there purely for fitness and they work me hard! I haven't been this fit in a long time. My husband is being trained brilliantly by the really dedicated, professional coaches, I know he's in very good hands. I've found it really welcoming and love seeing the younger lads learning in a safe environment. Couldn't recommend it enough.

The best boxing club I've ever been to. Completely changed me and my brother as fighters. Coaches are very motivating and could be spoken to as brothers.
Very well organised and one of the best training me and my brother have ever had 💯
Motivating atmosphere and has many talented fighters and future world champions!

Guaranteed great coaching , facility’s and a good workout at the east London boxing academy . I have had Over 30 boxing bouts with the gym and have been training for 5+ years and don’t have a single complaint with the gym as they have provided a safe effective environment that teaches discipline and allows people to better their fitness and boxing ability. would recommend to both adults and kids a definite 5 stars

Great, hard-working and supportive atmosphere for both fighters and those looking to improve fitness. I’m a relatively new, aspiring fighter and I have found the coaches and boxers really encouraging and knowledgeable. ELBA always keeps the drills varied, looks after you and pushes you to achieve the best.

So this was my first crack at a boxing class (I have never had any sort of boxing lessons in the past) and my first impressions are:
A session is £5, adult sessions run 7:30pm-9:30pm Mon-Fri.
The gym itself is alright, some might say it's quite run down but I would never expect a boxing gym to be in pristine condition or anything, in fact this gym had met my expectations in this area (being low to begin with)
There are 3 rooms and only 1 coach. The coach tries to manage the Covid rules by trying to keep max 6 people per room (obviously this wasn't the case, it was more like 8, but there was still enough room to social distance so I wasn't too fussed).
Now onto the session itself - firstly, I say 'session' because this definitely could not be categorised as a class. There was no class as such. At £5 I get I wasn't expecting a high-end personalised 1-1 coaching or anything, but at least 5/10minutes of the coaches time maybe would have been fair?
I made the coach aware I was totally new to boxing and the first thing he asks me to do is start shadow boxing. My reaction was "what? what do you want me to do, just swing my arms?" so he then gave me a 30second rundown. He told me how to position my feet and "weak hand is for speed, dominant hand is for power, now shadow box with the mirror" - and that was all the time I had with the coach.
They have a timing system where an alarm goes off so you know when to train and when to rest, had to figure that out myself. The rest of the session was pretty standard. Spent about 20min shadow boxing, 20min skipping, 20min with the punching bags, and last the 30mins doing circuit training (pushups, situps, burpees etc.) totalling a 1hr 30min sess.
Overall, a mediocre first experience into the boxing world. Will I give up on getting into boxing? No. Will I come back to this gym? No.

Great coaching and a lot of very talented boxers at this club. Coaches go out of their way to be there every single night to give everyone the best training they can. I found ELBA very welcoming and the coaches are full of encouragement. Great club and great atmosphere!

I’ve alongside the coaches for about 8 years and it’s a very friendly learning environment that teaches all members the self control and discipline behind the sport of boxing. ELBA has very qualified coaches that are experts in the fields of boxing and this club produces the some of the most talented boxers in London . Would recommend anyone to come down any level you think you are at ELBA can help 🥊

Very Proffesional.
Kids classes Mon to Fri 6pm to 7.30pm
Adult classes Mon to Fri 7.30pm to 9pm
You don't just walk into a boxing gym and spar it probably would take atleast a year for you to go anywhere near a boxing ring if you have never boxed before.
So some people dont know what they are talking about!!

Fantastic non-profit boxing club with some brilliant teachers, for what you pay it rivals the most expensive city based HIIT classes. Great atmosphere and environment, also great to see more and more women attend the club.

The Best Amatuer Gym probably in the Country.. And I've been to a good few..
It's a family unit and they train very very hard. The Gym has Beginner's, keep fitters and Athletes who box for England all training together under one roof.
And with the 8 Qualified England Boxing Coaches it is an amazing place with great coaching and skills all under one roof..

Amazing friendly club, that welcomes you from the moment you step in the building. Great coaches and equipment for all ages and abilities whether you just want to get fit or train for a fight

The best boxing academy in London, just you can know when you come inside and see the different weight categories amateur champions.
I see some people lift the 1 star feedback, in boxing academy one or two coaches can't have one hour time for some one just come for one day or just first day, because they are other people ( all team), fighters they're coming more than 5 years, need to follow all group and everyday different things to do, if you don't have the medical check certification, dbs, right gloves for sparing right gloves for bags, shield gums, head guard ect, then you can't aspect that on your first day a coach train and follow you for 1 hour.
