Reviews of Fitness4Less Southwark
R. B.
The team is very friendly. Good place for workout.
Plenty of space to exercise, even in the morning rush.
F. S.
I have been a member of the gym for over a year and it has been fantastic. The gym facilities, shower and changing spaces are brilliant, never too crowded and of a great standard. Classes and instructors make workouts fun and accessible. Staff very helpful and in particular Simon Gibbs, who has been excellent when dealing with membership and various other queries! Highly recommend!
O. N.
I love this gym. First of all it is reasonably priced, so why pay more somewhere and get the same or less? This is the only gym opened every day (including Sunday) in this area, a big plus. And they have many classes, of all types, even Thai Boxing. They have plenty of machines and weights. In short: the best gym in this neighborhood.
K. G.
Very nice clean gym eith modern and comfortable equipment. with studios for classes, different variety of equipment, professional trainers and coach to always assist you. Every day from morning to evening there are several classes from yoga to spin revolution to weights work out. Nice changing areas with lockers and shower facilities.
Glad I joined as I use it very regularly as it's close to my work place in Southwark.

This is a really good gym. Great location, well maintained, good value and not too busy outside of the lunch-time. The only thing that lets it down are the showers are not adjustable for temperature, that wouldn't be so bad if they were not so scalding hot! a problem exacerbated in warm weather.
M. D.
Been at Fitness4Less Southwark for 6 months and I’m pleased with the membership. Friendly staff and gym goers, enough equipment and weights, spacious, good selection of classes, nice/clean interior, clean showers. Only ever ‘packed’ in the mornings between about 7 and 9 am.
L. R.
Very good value for money - decent gym with all the equipment. Does get crowded at peak times but I just go to a class if that's the case. Staff have always been friendly too. Changing/shower rooms could be nicer but you get what you pay for!
B. T.
Great value for money gym. Plenty of membership options. Has everything you need including plenty of cardio machines and a sizeable room for free weight training. Separate rooms for classes. Sometimes gets a bit crowded. Staff are friendly ans helpful. The look and feel of the place is great, brick walls and high ceilings. Some equipment are out of order from time to time, and the dumbbells are always a mess.

I don't think people reviewing THIS particular gym seem to know what they're babbling on about. Ques for the Sauna?? Swimming pool?? Not enough weights?? This is a £16 per month gym, what were you expecting - back rubs and table service? Just for the record, there's no pool or sauna. However, for the money, it's brilliant value – gyms near me in Zone 4 cost more than this place. There are loads of weights, even more machines, and a hall, all wrapped in a cheap price. Get over yourselves people, its cheap and does the job. If you want better, go to a more expensive gym. By the way, this gym doesn't require stupid letters to break out of your contract, all you have to do is cancel your DD and you're free! Simples.
S. C.
Great gym, If you are like me and just want to do your own thing its great. Its basic but if you end up only paying around the £20 mark its more than fair.
Many Pros, Cons: I have seen people just come with shoes off the street and then straight working out. Some of the mats then have gravel and other stuff of the street. Also so free weights have their numbers so warn off that you can't read what weight they are ( good be fixed by just writing on them with a marker).
K. A.
I really enjoyed going to this gym at this location. Classes and staff were the most favorite part. The price and offer value is amazing. If not moving to another location I would be still going there. Really recommend this place! Thank you!
J. C.
This gym is great and cheap.
I have had memberships of better gym, pure gym, and the gym all in the local area. I have also tried Bannatynes and Virgin Active clubs elsewhere.
For the money, this gym is spacious, the equipment is decent, there are plenty of machines and the trainers are great. I especially love Legs, Bums and Tums on Tuesday and Wednesday. In fact the trainers for those are so good I actually look forward to the next one each time, I wish they could have another 2 at the weekend.
Because the gym is cheap, the people are more down to earth and the staff working there are polite. Nadia is especially really friendly.
Better gym's corporate membership is 50 a month, 30 more than this, and the trainers aren't as good and you have to queue to go in when booking for a class. TheGym have those annoying caged gates that are a nightmare to open if your card stops working. Virgin and Bannatyne have those annoying touch button lockers that always go faulty. PureGym is alright but more expensive.
Only downsides, and they are easily overcome:
No water in the training area, you need to go to the bathrooms to refill bottles. And the bottles need to be 500ml or less to get into the sink.
Only 2 ladies loos.
No towels for hire/available.
No wifi.
Some of the more popular classes get full really quickly, and they don't really do pilates here (which is a shame because I would love a pilates class)
Thank you fitness4less for helping my life without breaking the bank!!!!
J. T.
Unbeaten price and has all the basics. But the maintenance isn't as great as it should be. The equipment is fairly new but the showers show that some fixes are overdue. It's usually clean and staff is friendly. Best to go off peak as it's too busy during lunch time and after work.
Z. G.
For someone like me, who was once described as the most anti-fitness person ever, this gym changed my life (yeah it sounds cheesy but true lol).
I've been going there for a year now pretty much every day. First I did that because it was conveniently a couple of minutes from work so I had no excuse not to go. If I chose a gym near my home I would have never gone for sure.
What do I love about this gym? I love the architecture, I love the layout, I love the classes and I love the different tools and machines (apart from the kettlebells. Aluminium/metal handle instead of cast iron?! Seriously?! Whose 'brilliant' idea was that?! 🙄) . But most importantly I love the people. The 'gymrats' are as part of it as are the Trainers. There is a living, breathing community with a bunch of great people. Good atmosphere, great banter and a lot of sweat. It doesn't matter, if you're a man or a woman, big or small, strong or weak. Nobody cares while they all make you feel welcome. What else would you want from a gym?
If I ever changed my job, I'd make sure to look for work in the area so I could keep on going to this gym.
D. L. B.
At risk of spoiling this hidden "gem" with overpopulation: I've tried every gym in this area (even the highest end ones) and this has the most space, equipment & availability w/ the friendliest vibe. Shockingly, it's also the least expensive. No, it doesn't have towel service or copper walls, but you can actually get a great workout in. And no, no one gave me a thing to say this, it's just worthy of praise.
A. W.
Great space for working out, lots of cardio and resistance machines, equipment for functional training, very well organised and amazing staff. Very good prices!
J. T.
One of the best "basic" gyms I've ever lifted at. Got everything you need for weight lifting, Olympic lifting and cardio. Recently increased the space by adding an Olympic lift section with bumper plates, great for what I need. Pay for the whole year and you'll save ££, works out at around £15 a month that way.
C. G.
Big, clean and well-equiped. Good distribution of the areas. However, there is no wifi connection and not even network signal, which makes it difficult for people who might need to answer important or urgent work phone calls. I have also noticed something strange: lockers are usually taken and locked while there are not many people working out, wondering if there are customers who will just "reserve" their lockers or use them as storage.
C. P.
Good gym especially for the price! However I don't really feel safe squatting heavy in there as the two squat 'racks' are terrible. You need to get at least one proper squat rack (cage style).
E. A.
The best Gym I have joined to date, functional and you can train at whatever your end goal is. Space for Power lifting, Resistance training (weights) equipment and cardio. The A game is the quality of HIIT and cardio classes; the coaches are really amazing; friendly and very knowledgeable. Don't be put off by the low membership fee; I get more out of Fitness4less than what my friend gets from a £100 a month gym!! I go there with a smile!
I. L.
One of the best city time I've been in. It's inside the arches that support the railway lines coming out of London Bridge, but huge inside. Well kept and clean, and with enough classes and machines to keep you entertained. It's also very convenient for exercising in the lunchbreak.
R. J.
Great price, reasonable equipment (including Olympic weightlifting area), free classes, but quite crowded during peak hours.
*Edit*
Additional star for the new equipment and moving the stupid Smith machine out of the lifting area!
Z. N.
Nice looking gym under the railway arches in Southwark with loads of equipment and classes included in membership which is great value. Showers are TERRIBLE, no other word for it. And it does get very busy in peak hours.
E. C.
good gym and convenient for london bridge and southwark workers. not very big but cheap and well equipped. restrooms are a good size and clean but showers could be better: hot water but it sprays everywhere so it's difficult to take a proper and quick shower.
S. M.
Great price! Excellent classes. Awesome price! The equipment is great. The cost is fantastic! It's near where I live.... oh it's cheap compared to other gyms also.
o. F.
The most affordable gym in town!! Who says you can't get fit in london at an affordable price? This is your gym! Classes and weight room for just 16,99 per month! And it's worth the price!
E. A.
The space is good and there’s a decent breadth of equipment. Biggest issue are the opening hours which are quite restricted for a central London gym (e.g. 6pm on weekends...)
H. M.
No frills, but good value for money. Equipment is good and regularly updated, gym is clean and staff are freindly. Very busy during first half of week, but quiet Thursday to Sunday.
P. S.
Good gym for the price you pay: 20£ without contract. Usually busy at lunch time and after work (6pm -> 8pm). Mornings, late evenings and week end are not.
L. D.
Great price for London, great size for London, friendly staff (quite rare for London). A great gym all round.
V. V.
Epic gym. I went there 4 days ago when I was still in London. Good equipments, but only to people who already know his own workout.
Low budget and good equipment, clean and descent.
J. P.
Great value, half the price of gyms in the area and arguably better equipped. Some free weights equipment is a little beaten up but can't argue at the price.
L. T.
Really cheap and no contract. Gym equipment is good and lots of space. No water fountain and can get a bit crowded at peak times.
A. B.
Classes alone mean that I save so much money by going here. Brick barrelled ceilings are really lovely, and a lot of great equipment. Also have some really creative, fun instructors who keep me going.
R. K.
Great location. Great value. Great staff. Great classes. Great gym. Have been a member for a few years (on and off)...Highly recommended.
J. P.
Great spacious gym with lots of equipment. Friendly atmosphere with awesome staff giving awesome classes. And so cheap for a gym!
S. O.
Excellent gym with great staff who really motivate and support.
R. R.
Been going here for 3 years. It's a no fuss gym. Equipment a bit tired and sometimes a bit dirty. Nice lay out though.
A. W.
Have worked out here for a couple of years and other than a few issues with the showers always found it an easy place to workout compared to some other gyms
b.
Great place, I am a member from 2012 and love the place, very spacious, great equipment, nice staff
M. A.
Very professional, clean, lots of space and equipment, friendly staff.
E. D.
For the price - you get more than you pay for. Amazing gym with this in mind, great classes and equipment for under £20/pm.
L. F.
Large variety of classes, take Yoga and Pilates classes here, instructors are great and it's all included in the gym fee.
A. M.
Busy gym. Go out of peak times so you don't have to wait. Friendly staff. Got everything you need for a work out. Showers suck.
D. H.
Can’t fault this place. Loads of room, plenty of equipment (including machines and free weights) and clean facilities. Love it.
J. H.
Reduced the cardio equipment quite significantly so other gyms nearby now better if using machines. Shame as was a nice gym.
J. W.
They changed the equipment a while back now less of the type equipment I use so the amount of times I can't use the the piece of kit I want to has increased, personally I preferred as it was before the change. Still good value though.
H. W.
Exactly what it says on the tin. Fitness classes and well equipped gym with minimal cost. Great value
A. G.
I like this gym, which has good open space. I myself probably going to join from next month
S. B.
I visit non peak times, the gym is usually not very busy and well looked after staff always say hello on the way in and out.
S. S.

A. T.

c. y.
Much bigger than the other gyms that I've tried in the area. Great variety and amazing price!
J. D.
Solid gym but no drinking water and some old machines (bikes, mainly) which need updating along with the treadmills which were done recently
L. C. B.
Good value for money. No men's showers for now so need to go back to the office all sweaty and have the shower in there
A. M.
The best value for money, the trainers are very enthusiastic and attentive at the classless. Great atmosphere during the classes
P.
Great price for what you get. Starting to look a little tired as lights, hand dryers etc need replacing as they are faulty
c. c.
Big, full of activities, lockers, tons of different
Machinas. Cons: only 2 toilets and bad recirculation air system
D. A.
Great price for range of equipment and central London location
