Reviews of Paddington Recreation Ground
C. L.
It's amazing how one green Park can offer so many recreational experiences. Go and see it with your family, you will not be disappointed 🤓
B. C.
Best recreation ground in the area, beautifully curated Gardens
A. S.
Separate playground for toddlers that was recently opened and is quite new. There are separate playgrounds for older kids too.
Apart from that it has lots of sports activities and courts (tennis football etc) Nice cafe as well. It is usually quite crowded
R. S.
Nice park with good facilities, shame not well maintained. Went for a football match but both goals were broken, one leaning heavily to one side, nets not attached and with large holes. Parking is available around the park but is paid during week, free weekends
T. H.
Excellent adventure playground, plenty for children to do, cafe and toilets very nearby.
K. M.
Lovely park. Lots of space for many activities. Loads of families and dogs running around enjoying the green space. We love stopping in on a Sunday for a fresh juice and a coffee in the cafe.
V. K.
Have only recently discovered this place. The kids playground is absolutely massive. But get very very busy.
The football pitches are very well maintained.
Fantastic ground to play your sports.
D. H.
So this place has so much to offer adults and children.
If you like to explore, this is a great hidden gem within the NW London vicinity. Surrounded by beautiful homes and streets, Paddington (Rec) is a place where you can exercise, relax and even take your children to have their own fun and adventure.
For the sports enthusiast, the vibrant blue 400m running track is a great place to start. It is surrounded by many exercise frames for calisthenics and is very spacious for those who require more open space.
There is a also a brand new gym within the grounds. Unfortunately I did not use the facilities but from looking in the windows, it looks like a extremely clean and modern gym with new equipment. I also believe there is an adjoining fitness studio.
For the football lover. There are artificial pitches which looked great and by the amount of people playing on them, it seems they are very popular. There is also outdoor bowling but I did not get to see the green as it is smartly secured.
To top it off. There is a cricket pitch located next to the visually amazing looking changing rooms. I did not play but managed to watch a game from the boundary whilst drinking a lovely well priced coffee from the on-site Park cafe.
For the children. There is a secret nature garden which is fantastically home to much Flora and many local Fauna. The large play area with the steamliner and play houses has Paddington Rec full of features for for children of all ages. For infants, there's a train and tunnel, slide, swings, scramble net, climbing wall, platforms and springers.
I highly recommend a visit and enjoy a relaxing day.
A. M.
A lovely place to escape and relax.
Love the flowers in the woodland garden by the bowling green. Also really like the wild garden and pond near the Carlton tavern.
Miss the velodrome still!
M. G.
Lovely spot.
However, super busy with families if the weather is nice. Uneven ground so would need to look around for flat space for yoga.
Toddlers playground which is nice.
N. A.
Great community hub used for activities ranging from cricket & fútbol practice to catching up with old friends at the cafe.
One of the most active parks in my opinion. Have been about 5-10 times
C. Z.
This place even during these harsh times we are living through, was so well looked after. The energy this place has is unreal. It's such a beautiful place to go alone, with family and/or friends and even as a pet. I would recommend of you haven't been you should definitely not limit yourself to a stroll.
I. F.
This place is truly amazing. There is something for everyone: A Paddington themed playground, an area for older kids, rose garden, cafe, playing fields, outdoor gym and toilets amongst many other fantastic features. PRG is explanatory..
H.
Decent, but there is a football area. But the basketball area is subpar. The flooring is slippery, there football pitch in basketball area. No nets. I mean come on. Basketball has no love. Would appreciate it if there was more development.
H. J.
It's a great place for young kids. Dedicated areas for all sports with a separate track for running.
J. C.
The Park is wonderful but not patrolled properly. If there's problem it takes forever to find a security guy.
Also there's an outdoor gym but hardly ever available to use as the kids play football there.
K.
Lovely local park with great green spaces, cute playground for the little ones, and exercise areas with tracks, sports courts, and workout machines.
a. t.
The best park ever, everything inside
Amazing place for picnic, birthday gathering with family and friends
O. M.
Great place for all sorts of outdoor activities. Unfortunately most courts including the 13 floodlit tennis courts are closed now for lockdown, but the 400m athletics track is still open and free to use. Also nice to walk around the green space. Ideally located next to maida vale tube as well!
A. A.
Very good park. Clean. The cafe has really good food. And its not expensive!
S. W.
It's quite convenient to have a small park in the neighbourhood. It's body building centre is quite popular amongst women who appear as if their naked bodies have simply been painted!
v. b.
1. Amazing place to be in summer.
2. Great place for Cricket net practice.
3. Wonderful athletic track with running clubs.
4. Nice turf for field hockey.
5. Good places for jogging and place to workout with functional training zones.
6. Tennis courts: see it to believe it.
7. Football pitches are amazing.
8. Lovely place for picnics and dog walks.
L. E.
Lovely place for running, sunbathing, relaxing and kids entertainment.
M. A.
Beautiful, tennis courts, playground, coffee shop!
I.
Cool place where you can hang out with your friends lots of different pitches for different sports and workout areas. I would recommend to go here if you interested in working out and/or in parkour.
J. M.
Great kids playground great gym a lovely cafe where there coffee and pastries and there pizzas are lovely they do breakfast and lunch x ive been going to that park since i was 2yrs old and its a wonderful park to go too x
G. H.
Parking was busy but not full (use Ringo). First time seeing and using the updated running track. It seems very good.
R. D.
Wonderful park in Maida Vale area. Has everything you would want: good space for walking, a café, seating in the park, a children's play area, sports pitches, running track, and even a little nature trail. You will find plenty of Squirrels hanging out there too!
N. A.
Lovely park, fancy cafe and amazing sports facilities I think the downfall is you have to pay for parking in general love park
W. C.
Great park with something for everyone. The running track and tennis courts are very popular
T. H.
My favorite gym in here.. not too busy, always clean and the best sessions with best instructors 👌🏻
G. W.
Lovely park, with a brand new children's play area being built which looks like it's going to be great fun. Also has nice café serving food and drinks and ice cream.
C. L.
Sports ground for everyone.it is lovely place to bring your kids and share with the other.and the play ground is big enough for the kids to play in there.
C. A.
I love this place. Was a Godsend during lockdown. Good facilities. Very nice area.
J. K.
One of the great place for outdoor activities and sports. It is run by the City of Westminster council in London but it has excellent tracks and hockey, football, cricket fields.
D. S.
Paddington rec is a wonderful little park in Maida vale. It has a gym, cricket pitch, running track, tennis courts, football field, a cafe and lovely outdoor seating with benches sprinkled around. I love it for hanging out on good weather days and running year round!
M. A.
My child love to play there so much. Especially now there some new things.
D. C.
A beautiful public space in the midst of central London with tennis courts, basketball courts, a gym, cafe and open green spaces. What more could you ask for?
C. R.
Great facilities and very diverse park. There's a wonderful children park with games, a gym, running tracks, quiet gardens with well cared plants and flower beds, woodland garden with a pond, bug hotels, tennis courts and football pitch. You can find a lot of birds, squirrels, or insects during the day.
C. K.
This has been lovingly restored and the grounds are so well looked after. You meet so many familiar faces when walking your dog,and it's one of few places, you can take them off the leash. There's a nice cafe and 2 seating areas, one especially for dogs and their owners.
Recently,a childrens playground was added alongside the athletes tracks. As a child growing up,I played many hours on the tennis courts, which are always busy, there is also a gym facility. We are very fortunate to have Paddington Rec,especially during lockdowns,it was so good to have it on our doorstep.
R. V.
It's a good running track for sure. The only problem is that people don't read the rules of the track before entering. You're not meant to walk on the 1st lane which is a fast lane. You're meant to look at the track as if it's a motorway when you're crossing. You can't get a good run in without distractions of people crossing and walking on the track. The track is not managed well enough and needs clearer rules that everyone can see.
M. M.
Great place, kids love it, clean tidy, lots of space, great venue.
T. J.
Fabulous playground -both for younger and older children- and delicious grub at the cafe right next door. We’ve taken picnics too and there are lovely bench tables to accommodate. Also spoken to some lovely, friendly families there too.
Y. C.
Great Place to Play Professional Football 11vs11
I join there every Monday for a league game and the pitch is okay, dressing room is good, you can find hot water for shower.
F. C. D.
There are some places you feel that you are lucky to be near. Especially when you have small children. This is one of them. A life saver. A green oasis of sports and activities for every age. A gym. A sunbathing ground. Cannot fault it.
E. H. M. (.
Awesome place, loved it
N. N.
Great park with brand new athletics track and nice gardens to walk around or sit and read a book.
It has all the facilities from tennis courts, gym, multiple gardens to a very nice children's area.
A. I.
An excellent space with lots of great sports facilities. I regularly use the cricket nets which are very well maintained. The only downside is you have to bring your own stumps...which I guess is understandable.
N. A.
Reasonable parking for London. Free on weekend. Has an Athletics track, some nice areas of grass for picnics. Good place to walk the dogs.
A. E.
Wonderful place with landscape & several sporting activities
J. Y.
There's a free general public 400m athletic tracks here, nice running club like Track Mafia (Thurs) or New Balance Run Club (Mon) are here
M. K.
Green fields, sunny day & coffee out
m. a.
Handy local park a lot bigger than it looks with woodland garden playpark a gym a lots of other amenities
P. J.
Lovely park, especially the quiet gardens. Beautiful Victorian and Edwardian terraces nearby (ugly skyscrapers further away)... Also, a kind of wildlife type little forest on one side with flourishing natural ambience. Pleasant café to sit al fresco.
S. S.
Me & my friends took some children there & they really enjoyed the park & the outdoor space. We brought our stuff but the children always want chips !
Lots of families & non sitting & taking in the beautiful weather.
A. P.
Our go to park for the last 18 years - lovely park and gardens. Football hockey basketball cricket gym cafe and lots more.
K. D.
This place has something for everyone. An indoor gym, outdoor workout equipment dotted around, tennis courts, cricket and football pitches, large children's play area (fenced), a walking loop that goes around the whole park, a cafe, and a big open space in the middle for dogs or playing games etc. There are also benches around and a lovely little garden.
There is parking, but the park is easily accessible on foot from multiple entrances -- 2 from Maida Vale side and an entrance at the Carlton Vale side.
The park is always busy, tons of dogs, nice place if you want to get some laps in or just chill out.
B. J.
I haven't been for a few years I noticed they have resurfaced the running track it was nice to run on .
S. G.
The playground is fantastic toilets much improved. I like the new gazebo. The two so called dog parks need a lot of work. Really neglected smell awful Cafe is lovely very good team.
Parking a lot better but you could do with longer hours for people who travel far.
More disabled bays please. Small ramps not easy for wheelchair users.
Could we have a disabled area in the playground bark is ok but it not good for chairs or frames.
J. C. D.
I love this park! If you want to practice sports, enjoy with kids or even arrange a small picnic with friends this place is fabulous.
M. T.
Such a beautiful and elaborate park for the neighborhoods! It’s very well maintained and full of activities 😍
D. P.
Beautiful and spacious park with various sports activities. Pay to park parking is available. There is 4 entrance to the park
L. M.
Lovely park with big open space and lots of sports facilities and a comprehensive play area.
B. A.
I really enjoyed this park with my daughter. The focus at this park is on organized sports and an amazing play area. Whether your kid likes climbing, jumping, dirt, or zip lining they can find something they like here.
L. H.
Open space. Well care for garden open to public as is open to public the sport installation outside (basketball, athletism...).
Awesome for family days, sport and social-health life.
T.
So much to do here for all ages! We took our friends kids (12 and 7) here in the evening and park was still open at 5pm on Sunday. There's a great playground for all ages, and a full track, basketball & football pitch. Also some lovely area to walk around if you want to relax. A really great park.
K. H.
I must say this place so much harmonic with one's desire. I love exercising one after other day and enjoy the recreation ground. Plus the most outstanding point is the behaviour of sportsmen/women to each other. Not to forget the way Black people treat you as a family is on the top.
Love them.
l. z.
Lovely local park. Love the new wild garden, thoughtful addition to the park. (The constant updates and upkeep of the park makes it q truly amazing local park).
R. M.
Great for kids and dogs. Really great for athletes and hockey. Also has really good cricket nets, football facilities and large outdoor tennis complex taking up an entire side of the park. Did I mention the gym and free workout areas dotted around the park? Oh did I mention the parking? Oh how about that cafe? Not too bad either.
J. H.
Amazing park for exercising and enjoying a peaceful time with friends and family.
S. M.
Very nice - all facilities to get motivated being active
T. L.
The grounds are great for all sports and the track is good for jogging too. Park itself is a hotspot for dogs! Amazing venue.
However, the tennis courts are less desirable - the artificial grass courts are always soaking wet no matter the weather. The drainage is shockingly bad.
E. T.
WOW. There are so many people working out in this park. We did some Muay Thai, there were people doing boxing, sit ups, press-ups, pull-ups, skipping, pole fighting, weightlifting, running, walking, talking, eating, picnicking, cricket, tennis and much much more.
F. k.
Very nice place for running and relaxation .. The only thing , Is expect dogs walking free and dog poop on the lawns as some of the dog owners don't clean up and the new kids play ground gets very dirty.. Hope the Council do something about it... The toilet is neat .. Remember parking ain't free
G. B.
Welcome green space tucked into the middle of residential Maida Vale. Huge array of amenities including bookable tennis courts, running track and yoga (Outdoors in the summertime) The gym was, for may years, incredibly dated however recent funding seems to have pulled it into the 21st century and it's now great value for money. The park is mainly used by residents of the surrounding area but is of course open to all. Dog friendly and highly worth checking out.
H. H. F.
Nice park but not enough games for the littles ones. You need to watch them constantly because of the older kids running everywhere and bumping on each others
B. R.
Wonderful park and a great cafe. A must visit. If you are into sports there is a running track, tennis courts, etc. If you visit, let me know how you find it, by leaving a comment. Stay Safe Covid-19 🙏 🙂
W. M.
A quiet Saturday morning drinking coffee with my wife in the warm sunshine of a London park, watching the joggers, dog trainers, tennis players, strollers and dawdlers. Lovely.
H. S.
Beautiful park with something for every one. At the weekends it is full of families and has an extremely pleasant atmosphere. There is a cricket oval, several 5 a side pitches, an out door comunity gym & running track, several flower gardens, Tennis courts and a lovely cafe. It's a really lovely place to spend the day.
N. H.
Great park with a playground for different ages, a running track, quiet garden, cafe among others.
D. A.
It's a great place to visit if you live locally. Plenty of play space for kids with a recently refurbished playground. The park also offers a number of tennis courts, a gym, running track and a coffee shop which is not th best in town.
R. B.
Amazing place! All the playground is very new with many type of play areas. From very young kids up to big kids it’s definitely one of the best playgrounds in London. There is also a coffee place right in front of it which makes everything better.
I. K.
On a sunny day this is a great place to be. The park holds a basketball pitch, 2 full size football pitches, 1 smaller pitch(which are all Astro turf),a 400m track, lots of grass, a cafe, playground and changing rooms. This is a great place for activities like football, running, basketball and just to relax. It is not huge but has a lot of space. Really recommended.
J. T.
The racetrack is a great free public facility with a great surface, people respecting distancing and we'll maintained. Works are currently going on but they have minimised impact to runners and today even a leaf blower was deployed to keep the track nice and clean
L. R.
Really nice park. Also has a woodland walk area and even a few outdoor fenced areas so they can run free off the lead. One of them had two men smoking weed and they had a big rough acting dog, which made it hard for other dogs to be let off their leads.
O.
Fantastic venue
All sports imaginable available
S. W.
Love coming here, just sitting in the sun, watching some amateur cricket and all the other things happening. Super relaxing and absolutely worth to come by if you live close
c.
Amazing park and playground for kids in the centre of the city of London. Very easy to access. Inside the park there is a kiosk where snack and drinks are available, and restrooms as well. Is a nice place to relax during the weekends, but also after a long at work, if sunny!
p. n.
omg, this place is awsome. The refurbishment has done it justice and the kids can't get enough. nice lil cafe too and toilet facilities.
D. B.
Since it’s made it’s make over this has became a very fun and amazing place for children to come and play . Who ever designed it thought of everything. We love it .
J. B.
Very sweet place to go and visit with friends or family.
E. B.
Great running track kept in perfect working order. The "Trim Trail" around the park is nice too with a half dozen different pieces of exercise equipment around the trail to workout on. The park can be very busy on sunny days, but it's a great amenity to have.
D. L.
Lovely park amazing place to relax and chill with pets and other family members
M. J.
Nice overall area, split into a running track /gym, rose garden, main lawn (used for cricket in summer), football pitches and then some pathways. Well maintained, lots of park staff presence and generally well behaved people although lots of dogs of lead so only go there with dogs if yours are social
j. g.
This is a great little park with loads of facilities. 14 tennis courts, concrete and synthetic, a full size running track and a good gym. The oval shaped park is great for dogs and children as you can pretty much see everything. I love it there
M.
Fantastic facility!! Superbly maintained
J. M.
Such cute vibe
T.
Recommended for kids , dogs 🐕 🐶 and athletic people who like sport.
There is 3-4 football pitches, once cricket 🏏 pitch and 10 tennis 🎾 courts and 2 table tennis 🏓 free . Outside gym equipment available. Running 🏃♀️.
Kids play ground for all ages in the side, a nice cafe with nice coffee ☕️ and ice cream 🍦.
There is a gym inside too. (Better gym)
There is parking too good price but you can park on the road after 6:30 🕡 for free and weekends all time.
J. D.
The main part of the park is nice, the cafe is great but the dog park is looking unbelievably neglected
N. B.
Famous athletic ground and velodrome now equipped for city life.
Roger Bannister trained here and so did Bradley Wiggins. Now there are plenty of tennis courts, a rubberised running track, football and hockey pitches, outdoor fitness trail and gym and an indoor gym. Coffee shop with ice-creams for the kids. Some quiet spots and a children's playground.
Green open space for cricket is the preferred summer lounging area. Nice people too!
M. F.
Lovely park, very busy enjoyed by families and those getting/keeping fit. Rose garden and flower beds nicely looked after too. Always enjoy going.
A. R.
Good Park & Amenities. Athletic Track, Gym, Cricket, Bowling, Kids Play Area, Flower Garden, Tennis, Nature Walk, Football. Fair size. Reputable. North Westminster.
U. o.
Park and newly revamped playground is great, caters to all ages if children. Track and gym, football, cricket, hockey and tennis courts all well maintained and available. Great Summer camps for kids too
M. R.
Been coming here since I was a child,my children loved and now my grandchildren do. A really good playground for children, great sports facilities and beautiful well maintained gardens. A lot of improvements have been done and a cafe on site. Has something for everyone
J. N.
Great local park. This park has seen generations of families through the years and it has gone through some changes which I think is positive. Park opens from 630am to about 9pm. Great facilities; cafe gym, running track, nature gardens, dog facilities etc. Great for families and individuals..support local parks!😚
H. S.
I've lived so close to this place for more than 2 years & even though I knew it existed, I'd never been before last week. Probably because I'm already a gym member & I either lived close to Regents Park or Queens Park, which I knew were decent. The name 'rec' also never really made me want to visit.
HOWEVER, this place is amazing. Who knew it was so special! It literally has bit of everything & is SO nicely kept. I've been couple of times already within couple of days & I plan to reroute my local runs to go here as it's flat & so pretty - public can also run on the athletics track. Hired out tennis court during day which was easily done at reception, pretty cheap too. Wondered round in the summer evening, trees etc. lit up, looks great.
Just be careful to check the closing times as they may lock you in! They do a bit of a generic sweep before closing, but they'll only tell you it's closing if they see you, they won't go looking for you.
n. k.
My children love it ... Nice busy Park so we can meet our friends every time we go ... big and safe for kids as my children don't stop playing with their bicycles . I like thé café they have in thé corner where you can get ice cream, soap or hot/cold drink Any time while you are there... sport place .. small gardens if you don't wanna get mixed with others ...... I love it ...
l. l.
A gem of a park and recreational space. You can absolutly feel that in this design the goal is to enhance the neighborhood and the people and children living here. The cafe is great, the playground is fun and the open green space is perfect for games or relaxing
A. B.
This is a great local recreation facility with many types of activities, running track, hockey pitch, tennis courts, football (soccer) pitches including 5 a side, 7 a side and 11 a side size.
There's a good fitness suit with all modern equipment plus qualified fitness instructors.
There's also a cricket pitch and above all a beautiful walking space, catering for all types, sizes and shapes.
V. K.
Nice local playground. Good for kids. Safe and spacious with lots of activities.
J. A.
I've never seen so many semi- hidden benches where you can sit. It has everything what you might need (green area, sport facilities, Playground, coffee and toilet)
H. M.
Decent grounds with good quality of civilised public, nothing too special, decent amount of football fields, tennis courts, along with a rose garden etc, I like the way benches are dotted around the park, plenty of them.
N. A.
Great park for all ages! A unique and creative design for young mine imagination; especially the giant wooden house, kind of maze like and exit with slides! Lots of fun in one place. A sandpit would complete the playground!
E. C.
Really spent some limey on this place and it shows. Lots for kids but could do with having some more picnic tables in the older playground.
C. T.
Great playground for kids to run wild. Some equipment out of service though so could do with fixing.
C. D.
Stunning!! Amazing playground, kids loved itz!! And Park Cafe have such an amazing food, very good pasta bolognese, tasty soup and amazing burger and chips. Definitely recommended!! 😍
K. S.
Really nice playground, good variety of equipment for older and younger kids and the cafe is very good and reasonably priced.
A. O.
Great park for workouts on one side and relax spots on other sides. Has a big athletics track, basketball court and football pitch. Had an outdoor gym but that isnt great but ita free so hey. Toilets are also avaialable. Children's park is also inside the park.
C. G.
Lovely area, I come here to workout at the gym. Small facilities but clean, good service and a decent variety of weights.
M. G.
Very cozy local park, peaceful and very clean with several facilities. Ideal for getting relaxed.
D. E.
We drove down to London to visit family. I've known The Rec all my life, at school we played Tennis and even used the cycling track which was once there many moons ago. Sunday was great, Cricket was being played, the athletes track was busy, café very busy and the children's play area was thronging.
Happy people everywhere, including us. Although I now live 20miles from London we try to visit The Rec whenever we can, a lovely park in the heart of Maida Vale.
G. W.
Good sports facilities, excellent play facilities it is the poor state of the grounds letting the place down
b. i.
All you need for a self-pursued fitness program. Great Gym. Great Grounds. Great Supportive People. Great Facilities.
Good when with kids as well. The Canteen/Cafeteria has amazing people. Pick up a leaflet and see what you can do for kids.
Good, well maintained Grounds.
q. s.
Great park very well equipped great dog park Two dog parks so if you want to let your dog loose in a safe environment you name it they have it
C. S.
Nice location, staff are always exemplary and the whole place is spotless.
Sadly there aren't enough classes or equipment (ONE medicine ball for a whole gym??) and the ladies showers are just completely useless.
I love the atmosphere in this gym but go elsewhere for better equipment/utilities and opening times.
T. M.
New kids play area really nice. Kids loved it.
A. W.
Lovely park with a very nice café serving drinks and snacks. Staff were friendly even though it was a bust Sunday afternoon. Watched a first class hockey match for free, a definite bonus. (Home to Hampstead and Westminster Hockey Club).
r. b.
Nice place to exercise outdoors. Been using the track often and twas amazing. There are also pull up bars scattered around the field so queuing isn't an issue
j. b.
This is my local park and they have refurbished the Children's play area. There are lots of problems with safeguarding. Younger Children especially are at risk of injury and escaping with too many entry /exit points. There is no segregated toddler play area which is being used by older and faster paced Children causing the little ones injury.
G. H.
This place has been on top of the list for my kid in the last couple of years. There is so many things children could do here. For parents the is a nice coffee shop to enjoy
A. M.
Excellent playground and if you want to do some excercise.
A. a. T. 4.
Bit of a nightmare when you have more than one child to take I have 3 under 6and the park is so open with so many exit gates now it's hard to keep track.. maybe better for older kids
S. Z.
Good for running exercise~
J. L.
Beautiful grounds, awesome playground! Looking forward to spending a lot of time here with my son.
J. S.
It's a place were you can get nice fresh air
L. F.
Gorgeous park with excellent race track for jogging, good play sections for kids and lovely rose garden. Perfect park for jogging, walking your dog or even a date. Really peaceful
J. R. C.
It's an amazing place to do some workout , it even have some space to rest and enjoy the sun in summer. It's quite big and have everything you need to enjoy a day with friends or family
j. l.
Dog friendly. Lots of fitness stuff like basketball, running track, gym as membership, small outside gym for public use. Cricket in the summer times. Tennis courts and cricket bowling practice areas, cafe, football pitches with astronomy turf. Great park all year round
T. M.
Beautiful park. You can just chill and relax. Have a walk around the park as few times. If you are sporty there's loads of sport stuff you can do
B. L.
One of the busiest park in London with great variety of alternative sport activities. It is rarely an oasis of peace (except for the rose garden). Great for tennis and athletics) the hearth of the community of Maida Vale. The negative aspect is the security.
N. S.
This track here is in perfect condition and open to the public daily. Floodlights keep it usable until 9pm weekdays (but for some reason it closes at sundown on weekends along with the rest of Paddington Rec). It's busiest on weekends but also on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings when local clubs have sessions. It also has shot put and a long jump pit but these are very rarely in use; as far as I can tell it's never used for (adult) track meets which seems a shame. Sometimes in the summer at weekends you get kids riding round on bikes but thankfully this is rare as the park security do nothing to stop this. As it happens, I've never seen the security guys do anything at all! The park is generally very nice and a fantastic place for a wide range of sports or just to relax.
C. W.
Good cafe to get a coffee while you hang out with the kids
A. N.
Nice park with lots of working out stations.
M. M.
Unbelievable new kids play ground has just opened! It's amazing! I have two active kids and live round the corner, I've been to a few play grounds in my time, but this is in a class of its own! I think there should be some sort of a prize or an award given to the person/company who planned/design it! And the committee who approved it! It's simply faultless, such clever use of space! Extremely child friendly, fun, imaginative, Your kids can't possibly hirt themselves here! The best things in life are FREE!!
R. H.
Nice park by the Westminster council. It features a cafe, clean toilets, gim, picnic area, sports fields, tennis courts, basketball, machines, free coin operated lockers and 400m running track.
Family friendly (No evident drug or alcohol use).
The roses garden give a series of small private places.
No cycling is allowed inside the park.
J. S.
Mahoosive flat swathe of manicured grassland, flower garden and mature trees. The only thing it lacks is a water feature.
Very popular with dog walkers, families and sports fanatics.
Recently revamped with excellent play area for all ages and always dripping with kids.
Outdoor gym equipment dotted throughout.
Running track, cycling track, football, cricket, basketball and hockey pitches and tennis courts provided.
First opened to the public as a cricket ground by Paddington parish church in the 1860's. It proved so popular that by 1888 it was opened to all Londoners and was London's first athletic grounds. The original cricket pavilion still stands today.
During the 1980's someone used to walk their pet pig here! 🐖😂
In close proximity to The BBC Maida Vale Studios.
Nearest stations are Kilburn Park and Maida Vale.
L. O.
Beautiful park, something for everyone from a running track, outside gym, tennis courts cafe, and stunning rose gardens ...
n. e.
Bit of of dog park, but good footie/track/kids park recently upgraded
B. M.
love my daily run here, free to use the running track and for a modest fee you can book 5 a side pitches and low quality tennis courts. the synthetic ones are a bit pricey, but very good. the outdoor gym is quite alright too!
G. Y.
Since they opened the new running track in 2012 this sports ground has seen a influx of users which is great. I played football down here at least once a week and facilities really are top notch. The football pitch is a 3G Astro, and the changing rooms a large and accommodating.
B. K.
Great to have the athletics track available to the public to keep us all in shape. Need more places like this
y. b. (.
Pretty excellent play area very busy but really good stuff!!
S. A.
Lovely little park . With a sweet cafe, as well as coffee etc they serve home made soup, breakfast, and really nice meals.
Tennis courts, gym, area for dogs also play area for children.
A must visit if in the area.
A. K.
That is a small park, but there are a lot of interesting points for sportsmen, babies and others. For example there are 12 tennis courts,2 basketball courts, 5 football pitches, 1 running track, 2 cricket fields, 2 gyms, 2 fields of lawn hockey, 2 table tennis tables, 1 field for bowling green, 7 stations of other exercises, 3 fields for dog exercising, environment area (including the lake and rose gardens), quite zones, cafe with lovely food, and there are 2 children playground as well.
There are squirrels and magpies everywhere.
That is one of my favourite parks.
P. S. (.
Visited here for community meet. Good place
P.
Big Park with expensive cafe. Big playground divided forunder 5s and over 5s. Big grass area. Running truck and outdoor gym. Places for dogs to be run free. Small garden with a pond and different educational observation points to look for bugs and other insects great for kids. Few football fields.
V. A.
A very good place to play sport, to chill, to be with friends
Also, it's very calm
T. L.
Paddington rec is an amazing park where you can find all the training structures like push up bars for kalistenik training
There is a free running halo with a free open air gym on the side. There is also a cricket field in the middle of the grass field and many synthetic football and cricket fields. Everyone active gym is also present in the middle of the park with a nice bar as well
Its keeped very clean and it s open till evening, night time is closed.
If you want to train or take some sun on sunny days in a nice green field, that's the place for you!!!
B. G.
Great rec space. Wish the footy lights were fixed quicker/more permanently. A constant issue. Also the ground staff are unfriendly - shouting at you when you are just trying to leave (having finished at 9pm).
W. R.
Lovely park. Gym, running track etc. Was so hot this day..they started up the water sprayer...the kids loved it. My first time in park since covid-19 started
T. C.
Wonderful place to relax, exercise and have fun
R. B.
Often go past when I cycle up Maida Vale.
Popped in one day and it all seems very sports orientated and has some nice space which would be great for ornamental flower beds and attractive areas to sit.
This park has improved alot during the past couple of years but they do need to get the borders sorted and more imaginative plsnting otherwise nice tidy park
M. M.
This is a great place come and excersie also the Cafe is open for take only. They do a lovely cappuccino, hot chocolate and my favourite Portuguese cake
J. M.

L. D.
Great, leafy lil park, with excellent activities facilities
B. M.
Love the running track!! It has an uneven spot on the outter lane, near the trees facing the street. Be careful there! Also wish teenagers were banned from riding their bikes on the track!
坂.
Pretty playground for kids.
r. s.
Nice 4G pitch but as an 11-a-side pitch, its really small and narrow but great surface and goals.
S. M.
Plenty of space and play ground cricket fields tennis courts, a huge swing park for kids
A. M.
5* always, lovely facilities, great dog parks, miserable groundskeepers. Everything you might possibly want in a park

N. T.

Recently renovated childrens play area. Spanning 2 sections connected through a bridge the kids can walk across. My 4 year old absolutely loves this park. I recommend it to anyone.
A. K. H.
Recreation center and loads of place for outdoor activities, recommended for every one
M. T.
Very good, the only down point is there are lot of free dogs which is really annoying
C. P.
Lovely park and facilities! Has the best outdoor gym and running track I have seen in London!
F. R.
Really enjoy strolling through Paddington Recreation Ground, any time of year. Love to stop off at the Park Cafe. Its a great space in the Middle of Maida Vale, which is highly utilised. Apart from the Cafe, it has a gym, plenty of tennis courts, a bowls green, hockey field, childrens play area, a rose garden and an athletics track.
*****
M. R.
My favourite place to have a cup of freshly ground coffee, it's so good!
J. T.
A local recreational ground for the residents of Paddington and Maida Vale, and all visitors welcome. Not the biggest grounds but it does provide a large variety of physical pursuits such as tennis, cricket, basketball, track and field, etc. visit their website for full details.
F. Z.
First time there since lockdown started. Toilets open, good point.
Negative side, the cafe says it is open for takeaway, although it was shut.
C. H.
Love this little park, for workouts or just doing a picnic
N. A.
This park is stunningly beautiful. There are facilities for free sports. There are sport fields that are very good. There are also spaces for contemplation as well as relaxation and socialisation.
D. D.
Best friendly park in west London! I go there with my dog almost every day ❤️
L. B.
we love to spend time here. There are two playground areas for the children, and a honest independent place where to eat and rest. There is also a gym, tennis courts, soccer fields etc. Just enjoy!.
T. C.

M. S.
I love how there's things for everyone. There's a gym, a nature section (not a lot there but it looks quite nice), the kids play ground looks great and there is a cafe and a nice quiet garden.
D. T.
A nice area with a good sports facilities and a large kids play area also a good family restaurant, also if tennis is your thing, they have several of them, but if you want to sit and be calm theirs plenty of that too.
C. A.
Quiet and calm place to relax but also an amazing place to workout. I use the running track and its used properly and seriously and also quiet not packed
G. A.
New children’s playground is amazing. The AstroTurf areas are also being updated so adding considerably to what was already a great park
C. F.
Used to come to this place as a child. Absolutely loved going to the. Park. I have many happy memories of this place.
D. G.
I've been coming to this park for over 40 years and its grown to be such a pretty space hidden away from the hussle and bussle of the surrounding area. It is very well maintained and has developed to kind of caters for everyone's needs. Definitely recommend.
D. D.
it’s amazing has a lot of sports facilities
A. M.
Family friendly park, always lovely & loads of good dogs!

K. G.
Great park with lots of activities to pass your time and a nice little cafe. Totally enjoyed my time with my wife.

Nice little park. There are a couple of off leash areas for dogs, but are pretty small without much grass in the winter.
P. G.
I went to paddington recreation ground on Friday 3rd August 2018 with my flexi-carer. We both felt so relaxed there, and felt we were both in Paradise, in God's Garden. What a pleasant feeling. Can't wait to go again.
K. W.
Lovely grounds with many different, separate areas for play, sport and enjoying the gardens.
O. A.
Awesome park with multiple quiet gardens as well as an extensive kids playing area. The zip line in the play area is fun for kids.
J. S. S.
Fantastic new adventure playground themed around Paddington Bear, set in a vibrant community park in Maida Vale
J. L.
Clean and great place to run or chill. Not too many people either. I usually run around or just simply picnic and soak in the sun on the regularly trimmed grass.
B. A.
Park is lovely but the kids and adults can be very badly behaved
C. B.
Paddington Rec is a great neighborhood park. With lots of sports facilities, a rose garden , and even a little woodland area there is something everyone can enjoy.
A.
Paddington Rec has been a lifeline for NW Londoners in lockdown. The grounds staff have been doing a quite exceptional job in keeping the grounds open, ensuring that social distancing is observed, and keeping us all safe. Thank you!
S. G.
It's a new playground with a lot new and exciting adventures. What is desperately needed is an area for teens and young people. Also what would awesome is a disabled play area. This is sadly lacking in all parks
G. J.
Lovely green area. Great space for kids and a well designed playground. Very good cafeteria with Armenian cake... worth a visit for that alone. Good coffee, tea, hot food too. Look out for the 2 important commemorative plaques: good encouragment for youngsters, see attached photos.
