Reviews of Parkour Generations London

This is truly an amazing place. Coaches are helpful and do a great job to teach and motivate you.
Gym is well suited to the Parkour workout and I can’t recommend this place enough.

Amazing place for training. The instructors are very knowledgeable and supportive. They take into account the needs and abilities of the students and adapt the exercises accordingly. I learn something new everyday.

Great facillity, atmosphere, and culture, but admin/management needs work.
I want to start out by saying that I could not be more pleased with the facilities and services offered. I really get a sense that the people here embody the real parkour philosophy. Throughout everything that Parkour Generations does they are showing, teaching, and encouraging not just the physical practices but the mental and cultural elements behind it as well. These people know the true meaning of parkour, and this is a pleasant contrast compared to all the people and organisations today who are more focused on performing "cool" tricks and miss what parkour is really about. The coaches are experienced and inspiring and I would think very carefully about going anywhere else to learn. The world needs more people and organisations like this and I hope that Parkour Generations can continue to share and spread their passion for human movement.
So I am disappointed by the repeatedly sub-par experience that I have had from an administration and management perspective.
On my first visit to the gym, the opening times listed on the website were incorrect (they have subsequently been corrected) which was disappointing as I had travelled for a few hours to arrive in good time and had to wait 45 minutes before I could go in. I had also been informed that I would be allowed to train shirtless but when I arrived there was a private hire using the gym and I was asked to put a shirt on, and I did not have a particularly suitable shirt with me.
On another occasion a class that I had booked for was cancelled to make room for an event. I was not notified that it had been cancelled and the class was still listed on the website even after the event had been announced so I assumed that it was still going ahead.
I have also found that enquiries on the telephone or on Twitter tend to receive generic responses which makes it frustrating to determine the suitability of a particular class based on your own skill level and what you hope to learn (they say that most of their classes and events are suitable for beginners but this is unhelpful when you're trying to determine how much you'll be able to benefit on an individual level). The promotion of events also tends to be rather hyped-up and misleading rather than objective and informative, and when I am planning a trip I generally do not feel confident that it will be worthwhile or that my money will be well spent.
So if you live locally and you have the money to spare for regular classes or a membership or whatever then I would 100% recommend it, and I feel like this is really who their offerings are aimed at. But it's hard to recommend planning a long trip to visit the gym or attend a single class or event when most of my trips and interactions have resulted in frustration or disappointment due to bad administration or promotion.
I really want to see this improve though, as everything else about the organisation and what they're doing is great and it's unfortunate that the administration feels careless and lacking attention compared to the quality of everything else.
EDIT: As Parkour Generations have now replied to my review, I feel that I must point out that my first visit to the gym was in 2019. I must also stress that none of the issues that I have highlighted have any relation to the impact that lockdowns have had on planning. The cancellation that I am referring to was in Summer 2020 and this was simple negligence in ensuring that the information on the timetable was updated promptly. The mis-advertising also has no relation to lockdowns, and the enquiries to which I am referring were not at a time or in relation to anything surrounding lockdowns either. The issues that I am highlighting go beyond that and I feel that this is a weak excuse for an issue that has continued through times of greater stability and in areas of administration not affected by lockdowns. This is the kind of generic response that I am talking about, where my points have not been properly understood and addressed.

I can’t recommend this place enough. Firstly, the quality of the teaching is incredible. I’ve done a dozen or so gymnastics classes at another place, but made more progress in one acrobatics class here than all those others combined – and that’s not even the main speciality here. It’s a great setup for parkour and there’s a lot of variety between classes. I can only speak for the parkour and acrobatics classes, but I’m sure the rest are of the same quality.
The place also stands out for its management. Most other gyms seem to be trying to take you for every penny you’ve got – here the management is not only fair, but does its very best to accommodate you. Can't praise it enough.
The people here are also by far the most welcoming and fun out of any place I’ve been to – lots of laughs in (and after!) each class. I don’t normally leave reviews, but come along for a free trial class and you won’t regret it!

Absolute amazing staff, special thanks to Luke! My son Luca love it, we will return for 2 more sections this week and looking into regular classes on our schedules.
Great place, very professional staff and amazing mezzanine for parents to relax or work while kids are on class.
Highly recommend!
Thank you again Luke!

Excellent training space with awesome coaches to boot that took my parkour from beginner to Adapt level coaching! Classes are a fantastic way to start getting into the basics and the strength and conditioning zones are excellent for complimentary training. Set up changes regularly to keep things fresh, great range of classes and the location is awesome.

The classes offered at The Chainstore are excellent for a serious and practical workout. I generally keep fit with gym and running etc. but after taking a class I am sore for days showing how intense and deep the workout is.
Not only do you learn practical skills of balance and physical confidence through staged increased difficulty but it is a great complement to other physical exercise building core strength and stamina.
The teachers are all very competent and helpful pushing you hard while finding exercises within your ability.
I recommend this to anyone wanting a good all-around workout. Prepare to be pushed physically and beyond your comfort zone with jumps and exercises you didn’t know you could do.
Yes, it’s far to get to, it’s very basic without showers and only basic changing facilities but I never regret going.

I've trained with Parkour Generations at the Chainstore for just over a year now and have been impressed by everything on offer. The coaches have a forward thinking approach ensuring progress for everyone attending, I've particularly enjoyed the S&C classes. There's also a great community feel to training there - no complaints!

I started here in Oct 2018 for only 2,5 months frequently. After taking 3 classes per week for 2,5 months I gathered a vitality experience like never before in my life. The working team in this institution is very professional and very human. No bullies, no problems. A very powerful hub to improve personal physical health and to bring the own body to the next level. I would re-visit this place with every chance and can hardly suggest all work-outs. Very consumer friendly with powerful effects! Thumbs up - 5 stars.
Important thing to know: They have no showers - but civil guest toilettes are available 40m next to it.
I suggest everybody to try at least this place out for 1 month to see how the routine impacts on personal life. This place is a pearl in London.
