Reviews of PureGym

Good service, the staff help you a lot.
2 Floors, well equipped, but maybe not enough if it gets a little busy.
Classes are a Plus for those who prefer to do exercise in company.
The only thing I would love that they have is Towels like in other PureGyms, that would be amazing.
Remember to clean after you use anything.
Thanks
J. C.
Good gym. Has all you need to workout. Friendly & helpful staff & nice customers of all ages. Great atmosphere. Safe & unthreatening. There are a lot of personal trainers to go to for quick advice. The changing rooms are constantly cleaned. Quite a few of the locker doors need repairing, though you can usually find a spare locker. It's a 5 star gym. I mistakenly tapped on the first star thinking I could tap on all the stars, so it was my mistake. Now I've altered that to 5 stars. It's very busy, so the changing rooms are surprisingly clean. It's very close to all public transport connections. Fantastic!

A very good gym with a lovely and helpful staff.
The gym is conveniently located near Hammersmith tube station and big enough to accommodate 200 people at a time.
It is a huge gym with lots of equipments for cardio and weight training alike. They have two studios to conduct group classes. The classes have to be pre-booked as they fill up real quick. A spacious locker room with more than enough lockers to keep your stuff securely. Vending machines to provide for basic food (protein bars etc.) and accessories (padlock etc.)
Would definitely recommend the gym to everyone

So if your planning to go here for maybe a few workouts or a vacation, it's amazing 👏
I enjoyed it. Great machines.
Lighting downstairs is abit dark but still good.
If you complain just remember, it's priced in the way it is for a reason.

She asked the question even though she didn't really want to hear the answer. It was a no-win situation since she already knew. If he told the truth, she'd get confirmation of her worst fears. If he lied, she'd know that he wasn't who she thought he was which would be almost as bad. Yet she asked the question anyway and waited for his answer.
He dropped the ball. While most people would think that this was a metaphor of some type, in Joe's case it was absolutely literal. He had hopes of reaching the Major League and that dream was now it great jeopardy. All because he had dropped the ball.
Where do they get a random paragraph?" he wondered as he clicked the generate button. Do they just write a random paragraph or do they get it somewhere? At that moment he read the random paragraph and realized it was about random paragraphs and his world would never be the same.
Have you ever wondered about toes? Why 10 toes and not 12. Why are some bigger than others? Some people can use their toes to pick up things while others can barely move them on command. Some toes are nice to look at while others are definitely not something you want to look at. Toes can be stubbed and make us scream. Toes help us balance and walk. 10 toes are just something to ponder.

Spacious, but messy and slightly dilapidated.
This gym has fantastic space and a good range of equipment and therefore has great potential. Unfortunately the place is not maintained very well, the walls and ceiling always seem a bit run down (lots of leaks) and I have never seen the weights be in the correct order on the rack. The lighting is also not great. Puregym Fulham is not as spacious but because it is much brighter and crucially is better organised it is much than the one in Hammersmith so if the team can make these changes then I would consider this a 4 star or 5 star gym.

Can't belive there are still no benches in the changing room even though there is so much space for it.
Staff are excellent and vibe is good this is what raises my rating.
Lockers are in terrible condition sometimes finding and using one is the hardest part of the workout.. 🤕 if you don't have your own music using headphones you are doomed as the music is rubbish and not near loud enough.
Staff 8/10
Lockers 1/10
Showers 4/10
Equipment 7/10 some machines need attention.
People using the gym 9/10
Cleasiness 6/10
Other Equipment such as massage machine only available on plus membership 8/10
Vending machines take a life time to dispense 😶.

The only good pure gym in West London. Clean and plenty of space/equipment. Avoid peak times as it gets very busy (4 to 7pm)

PureGym Hammersmith: the internet is too poor and annoying to connect, either to upgrade it or to completely remove it.

I was so fortunate to be able to train with Rico, he is helpful and never fails to make the sessions fun and productive. Highly recommend working with him.

Very good because is 24hrs so can go anytime I need to.I am disabled so it is very good for me and the person that helps me as we can go anytime. Definitely would recommend it to everyone.

Great choice of machines, very spacious. It is very busy at all times, but also very clean and provides disinfectant and blue paper in many spots of the areas, in order to clean a machine after using it. Satisfied 😌

Plenty of variety at this gym qnd a nice atmosphere to workout. Nice big changing rooms aswell

I like going to classes but i dont understand why abs is only 15minutes. Also i think the "missed classed" needs to be adjusted somehow because if i go on a waiting list and then an hour before the class it says i am able to attend if i cant because other arrangements have been made or its short notice, no matter what someone does, cancel or miss the class they will get a strike against their name which i really dont think is fair really.

I like this gym it's good. Its a nice big space has a lot in it. Price is not bad for a month.

And a good gym, for those who want training with higher level of result, has many machines, I use another gym, virgin Active. and their equipment is limited. Especially in Hammersmith.

Nice gym 2 floors spacious. Only thing I did not like was the bad odour in the gym especially in the free weights area. Now I've gone very late around 3am so gym is practically empty and yet it was so smelly which is very off-putting, its like peoples sweat has been soaked into the gym. I can only imagine it being a lot more worse when the gym is busy but apart from that its not a bad gym

PG wouldn't publish a review they requested from me directly because of a 'legality issue', so leaving it here instead since everyone deserves a bit of transparency.
So-so value with so-so equipment that's becoming dated and damaged and hasn't been replaced in some time. Used to visit a PG just outside of Birmingham which was - and still is - less than half the price of a regular membership in London. Their facilities were kept much more up-to-date.
Almost impossible to book classes without being placed on a waitlist.
Staff are friendly enough and clean down equipment regularly during quieter hours. Cleaning staff in particular are on it and can't be faulted.
Members regularly ignore requests to clean down equipment; recently saw some guy doing circuits of machinery for about 30s at a time but not wiping anything down afterwards, and a few machines were being 'used' by him at a time which isn't good etiquette. Folks were visibly uncomfortable because they wanted to use the equipment he kept leaving and going back to. Staff were there and didn't say anything.
Probably the legally sensitive bit that PG didn't want to publish; it's difficult to keep to mask regulations depending on where you are in the gym and what exercises you're doing. Members are expected to keep masks on them to move between equipment etc. which isn't always feasible. Staff often don't wear masks regardless of what they're doing and nobody asks members to comply with this rule, so not many people do besides in changing/locker areas and when using facilities like the massage chairs or vending machines.
This is probably more of a restriction that's overall awkward to follow than people not being bothered, which is understandable.
As much as I enjoy being able to go to the gym again generally, I miss my old gym a lot more than I'd miss this place.

Big gym with loads of equipments. Has many personal trainers who are helpful and nice

It’s a decent sized gym with a lot of great people and great equipment.
However it can be very hard to get the machine you during peak times (as it is at most gyms), and I’ve often found the cleaning stations out of paper towels & spray.

I went yesterday for a short tour and everything seemed as expected. The staff member was friendly, and the gym was spatious and well-equipped with everything that I need for my weightlifting workouts. I think I will buy a membership and give it a try.
Z. J.
Nice gym, good range of equipment and easy to come in using codes / QR codes. In my
opinion 181 is slightly too high a maximum, so I go in the early morning when it is relatively
empty, which is nice. Good location and I find it useful to follow the workouts in the puregym app!
A. J.
Even though it a large gym, it does get really busy. Overall it's a good place to workout.
T. R.
Great gym, 24hrs they have a great machines and free weight spaces for everything from dead lifting to yoga, they dont have a swimming pool though
A.
Unbeatable price for the space and sheer quantity and quality of equipment. One of the best gyms in London for the price, to go somewhere similar you'd need to fork out in the order of £60-100/month.
Biggest negative is it gets rammed at peak hours (5-8pm).
If you're serious about getting strong this is the place to do it: about 10 high quality racks means the wait for a rack is usually swift or you can even share. It even has eleiko bars, benches and bumpers with enough weight for multiple national level lifters.
What sets this place apart, however, is the top tier community of trainers and lifters. All super friendly and happy to help out, with the results to back up their advice.

Great classes, great instructors, they were up beat and welcoming. Just did a Heat class followed by a pure abs class. Just a 15min gap inbetween the classes, which was much needed. Great workouts! Looking forward to hitting those classes again. Feeling good! :)
M. J.
I frequently visit 4 times a week. People claim not many machines and weights available but I disagree, able to do all of my workouts in a good hour.
However, sometimes it’s hectic and it’s very busy but it’s understandable, you can easily ask to go in-between workouts and let someone else take over as you rest - friendly gym-goers.
The humidity of the changing rooms aren’t that good and they are busy, but it’s never a problem to find a locker.
Overall, £24.99p a month for a 24hr gym is worth it.
M.
Great gym and personal trainers are friendly and cooperative. Could do with better ventilation and turning up the air con.

The new manager -bhavik, is by far the best manager this club has ever had. He's very professional and going above and beyond for his member, he's very efficient, proactive and competent in what he does and always makes sure his members are receiving the best service. This gym is amazing by far one of the best clubs I have been to at pure gym. It has great equipment, even a massage bed and everything you can possibly imagine. The manager keeps this gym to its top standards and I am really impressed with the quality of service received and he deserves a well done. This gym is always clean everything is how it should be and I have recommended everyone to join this gym as it's much better than other gyms I ha e been to. If there are any issues I speak to the manager and he resolves things within seconds! He deserves a well done for providing great customer service and his dedication is very impressive. There needs to be more managers like him within pure gym because some clubs are not the way it should be and he deserves a reward!

If you're not fussed about all the bolt-ons (sauna, swimming pool, etc.) and just want the basics for a minimal price, PureGym is perfect.

Have finally moved over from the Fulham branch and I'm very pleased already. I am paying less for a much larger gym with more equipment and its 24 hours. I usually attend after 1000pm and the gym almost empty compared to the daytime hours. Only complaint is the studio is locked but I'm assuming its due to untidy members leaving weights every where and any where. Highly recommend if you go during the night.
M. C.
First trip to this gym, Very impressed, clean, nicely laid out, lots of kit. Will be back. Thank you!
J. S.
Good sized gym, wide range of equipment. new equipment recently added to.
Cons:
Many broken lockers.
showers and changing room often dirty. I have never seen it cleaned in the 4 years i have been a member. power in showers are awful with cold water.
The gym floor is always a mess and members leave equipment everywhere. signs are up saying member will be banned however i doubt this is enforced as the personal trainers also leave equipment on the floor. Its not only annoying to workout in a messy gym but dangerous as you can easily trip on equipment left out.
Members hog both sides of a cable machine to do different exercises and are rude and aggressive when you go to use a piece of equipment as if they own the whole gym.
i have witnessed and have had friends tell me they have seen personal trainers sleeping on the massage chairs which member have to pay extra for.
Some of the personal trainers seem friendly, some seem egotistical and make member feel uncomfortable. I believe that they are self-employed and should not wear pure gym branded clothing as they come across as staff when in reality it seems that pure gym Hammersmith has no staff.
B.
Great location used on the commute home. Double lock your bike out the front as their are bikes getting stolen, that was my only discomfort when using this gym. Heaps of equipment - great gym.
V. C.
The gym is really spacious and not so busy post-lockdown.. i normally gym during the day. There are lots of cleaning stations so you can spray a paper towel with disinfectant and clean before and after using equipment. The staff are cleaning equipment too. Lockers are available. The music is alright.
A. x.
This gym left me in absolute awe. The facility was incredibly clean, including equipment. They have a huge variety and plenty of equipment, which meant I didn’t have to put my workout on pause and wait around for equipment. The aspects I enjoyed the most was the delicious Yanga water they serve and the enjoyable & relaxing hydrotherapy massage chairs on the top floor. Both of them really hit the spot after an intense workout
S. S.
Good classes, great location, good equipment, challenging in terms of hygiene and cleanings never seen a cleaner, challenging when in locker room as male attenders shout are you decent and come in frequently, the question should be are you comfortable that we have male attendants in a female locker room, it's about consent not convenience. That much said, if cleanliness and female attendants were in the female locker rooms, it would be the best gym without a swimming pool in Hammersmith. Convenience, equipment, classes and space are great...on the principle that you can't have everything this is a pretty good gym!!!

UPDATE REVIEW:
Since my last review of 2 stars, the gym has significantly improved!
A lot more tidy. Air conditioning seems to have been sorted, and incredible additions with the new equipment!
Still extremely packed at peak time, but easily avoided by working out around those times! :)
Seriously good work with the improvement!
M. F.
Always super busy, toilets also smell a bit funky and always seems to be either a water leak, broken taps or no wifi.
Big draw back is there is no phone reception in most of the gym which means Spotify doesn’t work and of, like me, you have your workouts saved to online you can’t access them.
On the plus side - has 3 deadlift platform, 3 power cages, 2 additional squat racks and a gym cube for additional barbell set ups (3 additional spaces. Also has eliko power bars, a hex bar and plenty of flat benches. Downside - only 2 bench presses.
M. F.
The gym is well furnished but it needs more maintenance. The locker room and the showers stink of urine and they are really dirty! Most of the times the smell is unbearable and disgusting! You can't keep a gym open 24/7 if you don't clean it properly. Hire more professional cleaners and install some air fresheners in the toilets and showers! Also it would be nice to have some wet wipes to clean the branches and the machines or force every one to use a towel.
E. G.
Since the moment I asked to have a tour of the installations I've had an amazing experience. Everyone is helpful and they've taken care of me both when they had to take care of the gym and with the amazing equipment they have. I was surprised to see that other (much older reviews) were nasty about them. I go very early, and everyone is happy to be there, achieving the best of themselves.

Gym is very good, but some of the stuff could be send for a customers service training.
The second think is that, very often gym members are frustrated, when in the middle of the workout in the far end section downstairs, stuff comes and tells you to clear that place, because they will have some classes.
I didn't see a schedule where it say, when they got classes over there, to plan my workout to be not kick out.
Generally I am happy, but there is a couple of thinks to be improved.
