Reviews of SportsDock
Great place to play badminton if you can get a slot.
Good lighting, good flooring and only £10 per hour. Staff are really friendly and laid back. There's also a cafe inside if you're there during the day.
I suspect getting there by public transport wouldn't really be convenient so would recommend going by car (free parking available)
Nice gym, and the story behind how the equipment was left behind by the US Olympic team as a thanks for letting them train there is a nice touch. The trophies are cool to see, and there are a lot of signs to help you find anything that you need.
Nice.
Great gym with good facilities and equipment. Good selection of classes. Main hall can be hired for multiple sports including: Basketball, Volleyball, Badminton etc. Changing rooms and showers are fine. No pool or sauna.
Excellent venue for sporting events. Plenty of parking on site. There is a small cafe providing a basic range of hot food (most of which is halal) and sandwiches.
Amazing facilities and spacious pitches and courts. Nice variety for indoor and outdoor sports
Been playing football here regularly for the past 4 years and so can only really comment on the caged pitch at the far corner of the facility, as opposed to the rest of the amenities available to actual members of the gym.
Pitch itself has always been well maintained and is great for 6 to 8 a-side football games.
Also from the brief interactions I've had with staff over the years, they have only ever been welcoming and helpful! Love this place
Great gym to be in with equipment contrbuted from the american 2012 team
Fantastic facilities. Plenty of parking, very helpful staff, fully accessible, clean and tidy.
Decent gym with nice range of weights kit. Recommend it highly, staff are friendly.
Helped me get into the best shape of my life. Classes are good. Staff are friendly. They have good equipment and 2 separate rooms to train
Came to this place to play football. The pitch is almost a square and can be played with 12-14 players. Goals are to scale but can be changed to smaller ones to make it more difficult to score. Touch line markings around the pitch means no kicking it off the wall and running on to the ball.
Pricing competitive with power league and such like. Free parking available on site with plenty of spaces.
4 stars mainly because of the pitch shape.
Great place to work out and do other sports..
It's an absolutely wonderful place with many classes and events going on - it feels more like a community here than just a gym! They run some fantastic programmes, have a separate strength and conditioning room and a café just outside.
They're very open and welcoming regardless of your size, weight or disability and offer many adjustments if required! I love it here and have reached many of my goals already, and will be achieving more soon!
A great open clean centre to exercise in.
Great facilities, nice good value for money café, visited for judo comp
Loads of equipment. Great calm place.
Very nice basketball courts, fantastic sporting environment!
A great gym, with brilliant staff. The staff are friendly and helpful and are ready to give advice, guidance and tips for effective training and to help you achieve your goals. Special shout outs to the Graduate Interns and Sports Scholars too!
Great variety of equipment, I love it that it's separated in two so even during the rush hours it's not so crowded and noise and men can practice freely in the strength and conditioning room. I love the classes especially salsa and the stuff members are sofriendly. However there there a few minor things. First it can be a bit cold in the gym sometimes the air conditioning is way too much but after you warm up is fine. Secondly, not all lockers in the changing room are working. And thirdly, especially late in the evening you need quite a lot of patience to get the hot water working in the shower room.
Gym is ok but many items worn off , classes are not organised well -short and not many / or not at suitable time for working people. It covers a huge area , but no swimming pool or sauna. Toilets always smell of piss. Otherwise decent place and the best thing about it is the free parking for members
Facilities are nice but could do with a good clean. Healthy vending options are good but would like to see healthier hot food options in the canteen. Cash only despite having card machines made it an annoying experience.
Like being valued as a loyal member of the gym? If you answered yes - skip this place. As a silver member for a year and a half I forgot that I can't attend during rush hours (16:00 - 21:00) and got turned away. Fair enough, my mistake. What annoyed me was the fact that I already changed and when asked the guy if there is no way I could enter - I heard back a simple 'no'. No alternative offered. No 'yeah, pay something and go in' or 'you know what, mistakes happen, just use it this time'. Sad really. Otherwise it is a decent gym, modern equipment. I used to love the virtual spin class that anyone can attend without any additional cost or sign up. So if you are not fussy like me - it is a very good value for money gym.
It's got everything for your basic gym sessions. It's spacious, clean, with great staff.
I thought this place will be great, with the Olympic legacy. However, it's just there....Maybe it's me, but I ended up going back to my old gym. So I paid already for a whole year but I had to go back to my old gym, I couldn't blend here
Recently had to go here for Taekwondo competition over Christmas. Was very impresses with cafe the food was actually very good for a small cafe in a sport complex. Only down side was that it did not take cards and we had to pay by cash.
Been going to this gym for 4 years, not once have I had a problem. They are always open, friendly and have great fascilities. The membership is probably the best value around.
Good value gym, its just lacking a swimming pool, courts can get really busy so would advise to book in advance. I wish it was 27 hours though but not possible as its ran by human staff. The PTs there are not great, coming from a David Lloyds these guys offers no help, maybe tidy up the weights but that's all, basically don't expect much help.
Good gym equipment and the university has changed in the past years especially with the inclusion of the gym and the indoor sporting complex. Very impressed and good addition for students
State of the art facilities at the East End of London. The Sports Dock is based at the University of East London. It has a lot to offer, from gym, to aerobic, yoga, Pilates and other classes. You can go there without a membership. Open to the community members.
We had loads of fun using the Gym we highly recommend this place. We moved to different locations but we love this place so helpful and professional staff that are knowledgeable.
From not being able to use the lift to get upstairs to water fountains not working and hallways that aren't wheelchair friendly when people are queuing to get into a room this visit could have been better.
I am part of the support team of Carlson Gracie Jiu Jitsu team, we ran a yearly comp The English open at the sports centre. Yesterday I dropped my wallet in the car park outside the sports centre main entrance. I only realised once I had reached home in Tonbridge Kent. I rang this morning and spoke to one of your staff George, he informed me that one of the instructors Kefentse (Kef) had handed it in to reception. Please thank him very much from me for his honesty it shows great character and I am know his good deed will not go unrewarded, also please thank George. My name is Augustus but everybody knows me as Abdul. You have a great staff who you should be very proud of many thanks again God Bless.
One of the best sports centre i've been to for badminton courts, no dipped nets and flooring is good. Bonus they have a canteen too!
Excellent place.
Has parking
Staff are nice and friendly
Is wheelchair access
The outdoor football pitch is really good and is priced fairly
Gym has good facilities and there are a variety of classes on offer. Staff are friendly, and there is ample parking.
Good plays for workouts
It is a great gym m. Very cheap even if you are not a student. The gym classes are really great too
Proud member. Sophisticated gym and play area with a small cafe and lot more. Hopefully this time I'll get rid of my tummy ;-)
Brings back fond memories. Used facilities but also class rooms. Amazing!
Great venue 👌
Nice gym staff great had a very hard work out going back every week
I wasn't told that I not will be able to park my car if I am a student. Payd for 6 month membership ( discounted), and not will be able to use it. Very disappointed.
Well equipped. If I were you'd avoid the peak hours which is more expensive. There's usually a small crowd during the off-peak hours
Awesome gym with lots of equipment and training sessions. Covid-secure.
Facilities are really good, but it's a bit pricey compared to other Gyms
very helpfully staff, always clean and tidy. Great place for exercise
I went to watch my nephew play basketball and I really loved what they've done with the place. Looks nice and clean.
Great gym, not too busy, clean and friendly
Great Badminton courts
My home away from home. Friendly staff and members! Glad I found this gym or shall I say gem.
It's a nice place. But too much crowded with multi sports courts.
Just perfect !
When I go to Sportsdock, I feel calm and wasn't stressing at all.
I also enjoy going to the gym and exercise classes.
