I recently joined this gym after training in several independent places. This is by far the best gym in Kent. The staff are always so friendly, welcoming and kind. The sales team were brilliant when signing me up. My trainings really elevated to the next stage. I couldn’t recommend this place more. Get yourselves down here!

Recently joined this gym and I am very impressed. The staff are always very polite and make me feel very welcoming and comfortable. I find gyms quite daunting so i explained this in my tour and the membership team who took me round made me feel really comfortable and more relaxed when coming to the gym. The swimming pool is newly refurbished with a jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. Really impressed and highly recommend

Used the Groupon deal to experience the Village Gym. Place was clean and well equipped. Worth making note of when swimming lessons are as losing a lane of swimming makes the pool quite busy.

Just been in the Village gym at Maidstone and wanted to share my experience. In this environment, it's all very tricky to know what you're going to get. I looked at the equipment in the gym on my way to the 9.30am spin class. The layout is great. It's clean, plenty of accessible equipment and a wide range of exercises to choose from. The real reason for my review is the excellent spin class by Karen Mead on the Thursday morning session. No gentle coaxing back to monotone spin grind…No! Just but banging tunes, high tempo and high energy exercise class which makes you smile from beginning to end. Karen was knowledgeable, informative, clear in her directions but above all...relentless! I can't recommend her class highly enough. It's a great workout, which makes you feel like you've really left those winter blues behind! Well done Karen and well done to the Village Maidstone for getting an excellent instructor to bring the class along with her. Awesome!

The atmosphere at The Village Gym was very relaxed, there was a huge array of machines and weights and on top of that there's a great pool, jacuzzi, steamroom and sauna. The manager, Richard Owen, was really friendly and helpful. After this initial visit, it's very likely that we'll become members. I've never been to a gym and health suite where I've felt so relaxed and supported by the friendly staff. The place is receiving modernisation but it looked great anyway. I would definitely recommend this place. There's also a great bar area and restaurant serving some healthy food, though I haven't tried it out. Next time!!

The pool area is going under major upgrading, the new jacuzzi is lovely, the sauna and the steam room are a good plus. The gym is well equipped and has sufficient space even when it's busy time.

I visited the pool here on a quiet Thursday evening. Friendly and helpful staff compensate for the slightly down-at-heel facilities. The pool is a good size (25m), however, on my visit the water was very cloudy and an unpleasant smell pervaded the poolside area, especially at one end, suggesting a possible drain problem. Users of the steam room and sauna used the pool as their cool-off plunge. Swimmers were a mix of ducks and others swimming lengths. A large net Is suspended above the pool to catch paint flaking off the metal roof beams above, emphasising the slightly shabby feel. Gents' changing was let down by strong odours from urinals. It's seen better days.

The gym is a bit small and the range of equipment isn't expansive but the staff are generally very friendly and helpful to make up for it. The pool is ok. It's often very busy and the jacuzzi is almost always broken. Not sure why it hasn't been replaced considering the monthly fee we pay. If possible, I'd recommend attending the gyms in the late evening. 5-8 on Monday to Wednesday is too busy to have an effective workout as you'll likely be waiting consistently to use the machines.

Great gym, clean, lots of parking, the pool is clean too. Showers and changing rooms are clean as well. I like the variety of classes and that they start at 6am, which means I can do a class before work. It does get busy in the evenings but I do quite enjoy the mornings when there aren’t many people around. I feel the membership is a bit on the expensive side and the staff aren’t overly helpful in assisting with a gym plan etc. For example, with other gyms I’ve attended, I’ve sat down with the staff and they’ve helped me formulate an exercise plan and I’m sent reminders every couple of months to rebook in and review the plan. However, I think this is a minor point. I also feel as though the free weight area and the floor work area is a bit on the small side - which is why I’ve not rated this 5 stars. This is a good gym, with modern decor, a clean feel to it and with a great selection of classes (resisting Starbucks on the way out is often a challenge too)

Don't bother. During COVID you pay and your time in lockdown is lost. Village Hotel group has proven that they are profiteering from the world pandemic. I paid for 3 months and due to the lockdown was only allowed to use it for 1 and 2/3 of the month. Let alone the pool and auxiliary rooms (sauna and steam room) are notoriously out of use. For 68 pounds a month you can get yourself a decent gym down in town for 3 months (no pool though)

Since joining to use the pool, spa pool, sauna and steam room a number of problems have been on going for the last 5 months. At our last visit the pool was cold and had a hose of hot water running into it as it did 3 months ago. The spa pool was out of action as it has been 80% of the time and so is the steam room. Complaining is pointless the staff are just not interested☹️

A great gym, very tidy with helpful and friendly staff. It’s also on 24hrs a day.

Good clean gym with friendly staff. Only bug bear is they constantly run out of the keys for the lockers meaning you have to take your gear with you into the gym or risk having stuff pinched. They do need to sort this.

The gym itself is nice and the classes are great but wasn't best pleased with my non existent induction that I was promised upon joining. Also had to chase staff to actually give me a pass to get in and a locker key.
