I was surprised by some negative reviews as for me the staff have been super helpful and friendly .
I only use the pool but as a regular swimmer it’s good value and will be great to be able to go again without booking at weekends .
I would remove half a star for cleanliness ! It’s fine now but already the grouting in the showers is getting old with touches of rust .
Over all I love the vibe and they have adapted well to the Covid restrictions

The Turkish baths is amazing, you get your own dressing gown, small towel, jugs of water to top up your glass, and hair dryer in chaning room. After you can relax to calming music. Or fall asleep.

Normal baths not made for intensive swimming. Only three lanes and no big clock with seconds at all.
Also, no cold shower available for after the sauna, that’s not good for the body. Swimming pool itself isn’t cold enough for that. Sauna was lovely though.
And I would like some music while swimming.
Wouldn’t pay for it to be honest.

Only visited the baths as I was thinking to change my membership from my regular gym/pool. Lovely pool, beautiful light, small but ok changing rooms. Only 50 minutes and this included time allowed in the poolside sauna also. There were only two other people in the pool for the session I attended and the pool closes temporarily after the session. I suppose this is due to Covid measures but I didn’t feel as relaxed as I usually do when returning from a swim and sauna. You can only sauna if there is a lifeguard present. There is only a sauna poolside, no steam room or cold shower to finish with. If you pay per session its £8 whereas Northumbria Uni is £3 and they have a steam room too. I think the focus is on the gym/health club aspect and less of the pools which is a shame as its hard to find a pool which has good opening hours in Newcastle, whereas there are loads of gyms. Didn’t have a friendly community feeling with other swimmers like some pools do. I was a bit underwhelmed tbh as I really wanted to like it!

Fantastic facilities including gym, pool and sauna. The staff are really friendly and I have found the customer service to be excellent. Good value and nice and convenient for the city centre. This by far the best pool I have been a member of.

Hands down one of the best facilities in Newcastle....it goes far beyond the swimming pool, sauna and Turkish baths...the gym and functional facilities are really good(whether you're lifting or doing functional) + the manager is a really friendly guy who has been very helpful

I visited to use the steam bath and sauna. It's a good, recently refurbished but historic venue. Using the website to book was a bit clunky but staff at the City Baths were excellent. It's pricey, given that sessions are just 90 minutes in length, but worth experiencing.

Friendly staff, convenient location, excellent conservation and refurbishment. The pool, showers, and changing facilities are spotless and well-designed. The decor and natural light levels in the pool make for a tranquil atmosphere. I can’t wait for the Turkish Baths to be completed!

Great equipment and good staff. Gym is usually fairly quiet which is a godsend at the moment. Manager is obviously trying hard to run the gym well. The booking app is a little buggy but otherwise no complaints!

Everything most people need in a gym. Good combination of resistance equipment, free weights and CV. Big empty space upstairs for stretching, core workouts etc.
Never busy! Highly recommended

The City Baths are exceptionally well maintained and it is clear the staff care about the customers. Whilst there may have been some teething problems with the booking app in the past these are now gone. I would highly recommend this centre to anyone in the area!

Beautifully restored Turkish baths. Staff is so friendly and knowledgeable, treatments offered are amazing! The place looks stunning, the decor and cleanliness is really impressive. Definitely coming back!

Pool is nice. Gym seems well equipped. Turkish baths area looks attractive but disappointed that they don't actually contain any baths only steam rooms. Seems very misleading to call it Turkish baths, I was expecting a series of plunge pools.

The place is stunning and has made use of a wonderful building to treat the people of Newcastle to a unique health and well weing club. It has something for everyone as it delivers to those wishing to relax and lead a healthier lifestyle to top end athletes seeking those marginal gains for peak performance. What a club! 😁

Gym is well equipped and it's usually pretty quiet. That pool is clean, well maintained and kept at a good temperature. If you're willing to pay a bit more I think it's worth it if your fed up with busy gyms.

I went to the City Baths for a Sauna and Swim session.
Very good and relaxing experience with friendly staff and a clean and safe environment.

Great place would of been 5 star if the first member of staff had of been more helpful as all other staff were great

Went for the newly opened turkish baths, was a bit disappointed at what was available. Essentially it's 2 hot rooms and 1 steam room, all with the same decor. There's a shower and a tipping bucket and you get a rest area. Maybe I dont understand fully what a Turkish bath is but there was no little pools or anything to relax in. This is essentially a big sauna. The staff were friendly though and it is newly opened and looks like there will be more treatments to come. Not worth the £15 you pay right now but may be worth it in the future.

Lovely pool and really enjoy swimming lengths there.

Got tour & pleased to see this lovely venue's glory being returned. Shame old pool which I swam in up until it's closure is no longer to be seen, but lays under the floor & hopefully for me it will one day re-emerge.

Great to see the vintage features but there are too many inconceniences and lack of comfort for a 'premium' pool and gym. And we are still waiting for the Turkish bath.
