Really enjoyed visiting Newport Rock whilst in the area visiting family for Christmas. Welcoming staff and a lovely mix of routes. Will definitely visit again when down next time. Thanks for having us! :)

Windmills shopping centre is good. It has a great car park which is brilliant with CCTV installed. They do not take responsibility of any damges or loss but that is with every car park. The CCTV are there and i assume if needed they will provide you with the footage. Now there are also security guards which is nice of them as it is in place to keep us safe. There is room for improvements which is the reason for 4 stars.

Great place for all experience levels! The new set up is brilliant, very clean and staff are very involved and helpful if you need it. Dress down in the summer and very warm in the winter as it is a classic climbing warehouse. Easy to understand routing system at a very accurate grade in my opinion with routes to cater for all levels of experience. They have a top rope section which is great for kids and learning basic climbing skills though the routes themselves won't challenge an experienced climber. Incredible for kids though!

The safety standards are extremely high in this centre. The owners, Karl and Louise are very organised and very careful to see that children are made aware of the dangers they can face and ways to stay safe, such as not running or walking beneath someone who is climbing directly above you. Louise also does 'warm up' excercises with the children before they begin to climb to lessen the chances of injuries.The climbing centre has become so popular with our children that three dads asked to climb with them last time we visited! They too had a lovely time. The building might appear a bit shabby, but it is a training ground for REAL mountain climbing and as such cannot also be a beauty parlour! As well as a climbing area for adults and older children there is a toddlers' area upstairs where soft play equipment is provided for younger guests. The centre is not particularly easy to find if you don't know the area, as the council will not allow the owners to put out very prominent signs

I've been climbing for many years and visited many centres, this is always home. It's only a small centre but it packs a punch, with strong setting for all skill levels. It really will see you progress and the owners (Karl and Louise) will support you on this journey you take offering outdoor guiding trips too. They also have plenty of serious training gear which for a small centre is great! Friendly, fun and inspiring. Totally recommended if you are local to Stafford or Shropshire, as you won't find better for ropes, bouldering or just knowledge.
