C. D.The great thing about doing bootcamp style workouts rather than standard gym machine workouts is you're part of a group, and you push yourself just that bit further. Kat and James run a brilliant gym - its super friendly, professional and a lot of fun. If you're new to fitness or an ultra marathon runner you will be able to workout at a pace that suits you and never feel judged - only supported. For Norwich people looking for a gym in the style of franchises Crossfit or F45 this is a brilliant place to workout. Thumbs up.
A. B.I have been attending morning boot camp for 6 months now and I just love it. Trust me if you knew me that would be a big statement. As a forty something woman who used to hide in the toilets at school to avoid PE , I am now fully hooked. The members are so friendly and the sessions are fun , yes I said fun. You can work at your own pace and will always get encouragement and after a while you will find you can do more and that is a great feeling. Also as it is boot camp the individual exercises are ranging from 30 seconds to a minute and hey that is completely manageable. If you are looking for a friendly place to make positive body changes with knowledgable and supportive PT’s then the Norwich Fitness Academy is the place to be.
I. H.I've tried out a number of different gyms and styles of working out but so far the NFA is my favourite. It's lovely to be part of a community that's so welcoming and helpful. The gym is well equipped, clean and feels well looked after. It's also a bonus that you're able to stand outside in the fresh air while resting between sets!
As well as having the group boot camp sessions twice a day they also have an open gym on Friday's, if you like to have the option of an independent work out. NFA is great for all levels of fitness as the classes cater to all. I found it especially good as I was a bit anxious about joining somewhere new and wanted to learn more about equipment and ways of working out.
If you've read all of this review you may as well sign up to a free trial session, that'll speak for itself!
B. W.There is absolutely no one else I would trust more than James Bradshaw and the NFA to educate on fitness, nutrition, and the most effective, safe way to diet and exercise. It's due to their guidance that i've been able to completely transform my life.
I'd advise anyone thinking about getting into NFA to do it now. Don't make excuses like I did for years. This gym has taught me that the thought of exercise doesn't have to fill you with dread if it's structured and directed at a goal. James has managed to share a love of working out through his passion for fitness and commitment to his own body. The classes are incredible, the people are invariably lovely, and the entire atmosphere, simply put, is exactly what gym culture should be.
C. M.Exercise is my least favourite thing to do! But, for some reason I find myself getting up at 6am three times a week to go to bootcamp. I’ve tried numerous gyms and always felt intimidated but NFA is so friendly, everyone is supportive and it doesn’t matter what level you’re at you always feel welcome. My favourite thing about it is there’s no judgement whatsoever, only support!

C.after attending a few classes around Norwich I found that they did not cater for people less experienced in the gyms and the whole experience was quite awful, I then found the Norwich fitness academy and from the first session it was warm and welcoming, everybody helps and encourages you reach your goals. You are able to go at your pace and there’s 0 judgement on how advanced you are. I’ve made some incredible friends and it’s a really great setting to get you started in reaching your goals

Full Review:
I’ve been a member of NFA for around 4 months now and I have to say that it’s been one of the best decisions that I have ever made!
James and Kat are passionate about your health and when you need any help with your techniques, or any questions related to fitness, they will gladly help you as they did with me.
I was completely clueless before my induction with James, but he gave me the confidence I needed to push past my initial difficulties. I was incredibly nervous before meeting James (you get a free induction / chat) but assured me that he would give me all the support I need for me to meet my fitness goals.
Personal Training:
From the very beginning to the present day, James has always been encouraging and when I initially joined (with no previous experience), he gave me so much support despite my struggles. James is a natural teacher and leader, demonstrating clearly whichever techniques you need to train with. I was really impressed with his level of teaching and passion! I was terrible at the beginning but he gave me the confidence to over-come my fears. I am really pleased with my progress (just under 3 months I transformed my shape and fitness!).
If you’re looking for a PT, go with James! Not only you will get an amazing teacher but you’ll get someone who truly cares about you and your fitness.
Bootcamps:
Before I started 3 months ago, I had no idea what I was doing initially but James demonstrated every technique I needed to know during the Bootcamp sessions (6:30am). I was really nervous during my first session but everyone at NFA are super friendly and welcoming. It didn’t take me long to learn the techniques (and still learning!) and the bootcamp members will help you if you ever need a hand :) All the equipment is laid out beforehand and is clearly explained before every session by James or Kat.
NFA has all the equipment you can expect from a gym and I have never had any issues with equipment or space when working out 🏋️♀️.
In such a short amount of time, I have transformed my fitness from absolutely terrible - to the fittest I’ve been in my life and I am grateful to them for their professionalism and passion whenever I am training at NFA.
James and Kat have built an amazing atmosphere, with good parking and a welcoming environment for all. I can honestly say that this gym is all I need and I am still in awe of how amazing this under-rated gym is!
Thank you James & Kat for all your support and I am looking forward to continuing my fitness journey at NFA!
J. L.A lovely family owned gym with supportive and helpful trainers. If you're turned away from gyms because you feel out of place or they feel a bit too macho then this place would probably be up your alley. For those familiar, their boot camps are high intensity interval training, similar to F45, offered before and after work. M
m. l.I never thought that I would feel comfortable going to the gym, let alone enjoy it, but both Kat and James have chased my fears away. The environment they have created is warm and welcoming for all levels of experience. They will help you set goals for yourself and guide you to achieve them. If you are nervous about joining a gym or want experienced trainers to help you achieve your goals this is the place for you.

L. W.Ive been a member at the NFA for 2 years and love it. The fitness training is always a different routine so you never get bored. If the exercises seem easy you just add extra weights. Kettlebells, weights, Burpees lunges, running, indoors and outdoors NFA has the lot.
Kat & James are watching everyone to check they have the right movement and form so you don’t get injured. I’ve lost weight and toned up and feel so much more confident in myself.
We feel like we have community of friends not just a gym with machines and corporate brand. Plus they have a very cute dog 👍

C. B.Can’t recommend this place enough. I’ve always loved the gym and exercise in general but I lacked motivation when training alone. The Norwich Fitness Academy is amazing, everyone is friendly and helpful. Incredible atmosphere in every class and suitable for all abilities, and all members help encourage each other as well as the Team running each class. The free trial is totally worth it, you won’t regret joining this amazing club/friendly group.
m. c.My wife and I have been members for over a year. We try and get 4 classes in a week which now includes the weights class on a Wednesday. The classes are run by either James or Kat. Both are very informative and very personable.
We have tried nearly all the gyms in the City and have never felt so driven. This is obviously the same for a large majority of the members who have been there since we started.
Going to the gym has never been so easy and rewarding. Varied, well thought out classes. Well done Kat and James! 👏
P. L.I couldn’t recommend NFA more highly. Kat and James have created both a gym and a community, providing brilliant and varied daily boot camps and 1-1 PT sessions. They even kept us going through lockdown, providing live online sessions and setting various exercise challenges for us all. It went a long way towards keeping us all sane. Basically, it’s a whole lot more than a gym and I am very pleased it exists.

Kat and James the trainers always demonstrate that days exercises so we all learn proper form and don’t get injured and they make sure we all warm up and cool down with stretch exercises.

A fully equipped studio with friendly and professional owners, Kat and James always offer a warm welcome when anyone arrives. They have created an incredibly inclusive environment, offering support, motivation and encouragement to their diverse group of clients and members. This gym is unique in that it offers gender neutral changing areas and a comfortable seating area with available MegaDrive! There is no other gym around that offers such a service, and I definitely will not ever go to another gym again!

Since moving to Norwich, I wanted to keep up my fitness routine and do something that actually works, and I'm very grateful I came across the Norwich Fitness Academy. T. B.I’ve been a member for over a year and am as excited to go to bootcamps now as I was a year ago! The incredibly varied sessions keep us on our toes. Kat and James are two of the most knowledgable and friendly trainers out there; always giving advice on how to improve your form to get the best out of each exercise. There are no egos here. Everyone is friendly and encourages each other and it’s truly like a bootcamp family.

I am so pleased with the results I have achieved so far and now with the new ‘strength’ classes as an addition to bootcamp I’m still loving coming here as many evenings as I can a week .
The Norwich Fitness Academy is fairly priced , Infact lots cheaper than any bootcamp I’ve been a member of before and the members here are so friendly - love coming here and seeing friends I’ve made since joining ! Five star rating for me !
D. P.I have been a member here for 9 months now. The instructors are friendly, motivating and knowledgeable. I started here with problems with an injured achilles and calf. Kat and James gave me alternative and safe exercises so I could still take part in the bootcamps. Over the last 9 months I have made huge improvments. I enjoy coming here because it has a cool community vibe to it.
