I have been training with John for just over two years. I know that I never would have achieved the level of fitness and wellness without his guidance and support. I have really enjoyed the variety and challenge he puts into our sessions and somehow still makes them fun! He is outcome focused, and I have been able to see continual improvement from my sessions. A motivating and encouraging trainer who will apply the science to help you achieve; whatever your goal maybe. I would have no hesitation in recommending him as your personal trainer if you want to achieve your fitness and health goals.

A first rate boot camp that caters for all abilities. John encourages everyone and has personally got me to do things I never thought I would have done! Very friendly and welcoming group. I have been a member of numerous gyms over the years and held the belief that I understood fitness and how to train, how wrong I was. Gone are the extra-long recovery between sets (time wasting), people watching, frothy coffees and chocolate muffins in the gym cafes. They have been replaced by John’s full on and focused sessions based around what you would like to achieve.
John is a fully qualified Physiotherapist with an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the human form. As a result of this he knows exactly what it takes to motivate you and obtain the best results, tailoring realistic programmes to suit you as an individual whilst considering any underlying injuries, tweaks, aches and pains.
No two training sessions are the same and although John always makes them fun you certainly know you’ve been ‘put through it’ during each session. The range of equipment in his studio gym is first rate and he has something for every muscle group as well as enough cardiovascular equipment to push you to your limit. Each time I attend he seems to have acquired more kit!
I have never felt as fit and strong and that is all down to John. He has a great manner, I thoroughly enjoy every session with him and with his continued support I am confident that I will reach my personal goals.
Would I recommend his services? Most definitely.

Unlike other personal trainers I've had, John is great at getting the best out of me. Would really recommend John. Have been training with him now for nearly a year. In that time I've lost just over 2 stone in weight and changed shape. His sessions are challengingoing. I look forward to my session each week. He has changed the way that I look at my training. His sessions are tailored to the individual he is training. I feel like I have achieved something when I walk out of the gym.

For years my three gym sessions a week was spent multi-tasking - 60 minutes on the bike whilst reading a book! As I move closer to my 50s I'm not interested in running a marathon; completing a triathlon or becoming part of the England hockey team but I don't want to see everything disappear south either!!
This June a friend recommended I have some personal training sessions with John. Wow! There's now no time for breathing never minding reading!!! Since working out with John once a week - I've lost weight; my body fats reduced; my shape has changed; I physically feel great; it's galvanised me to revamp my other gym sessions and my knowledge of the tricky trees has increased which is a bonus if your husband is a Forest fan!!
Would I recommend you book some personal training sessions with John Thompson? A resounding YES!!!

I had used other personal trainers prior to John but i can honestly say that John is by far the best. With John it's all about what you want to achieve out of your session and not about what he wants to teach you. My goal was/is a long term one and John understood this, designing me a programme of exercises that enables me to maximise each and every session. He is a personal trainer with the emphasis being on PERSONAL. John is an extremely skilled and highly efficient trainer and I would have no hesitation in recommending him to anybody, no matter what it is that you want to achieve.

I started out with John 18 months ago, very much overweight and not in a great place mentally, and through a dedicated and varied exercise plan and good education given to me, coupled with my own willpower, my results were first class and I lost 3 stones in weight. The biggest thing I achieved was a new found enjoyment in exercise which still gives me the desire to eat well and train as often as I can both with John and in my own time.

Love training with John, I also attend his bootcamp on Saturday morning in Woodborough! They are always fun and John makes sure all the exercises and circuits are different every week so you don't get bored!!
