Really nice gym. Situated stone throw from Preston docks and around 5-7min drive from city centre. Very spacious with good choice of classes and well equipped. There is sauna and free parking on site. Highly recommended 👌 Edit: my fiancee said to added it: "good vibe and music 🎶 🎵 👌 "

Good variety of equipment, well layed out, free parking, classes are good too. PTs don't hassle you and you're left to do your own thing if you so wish. Sauna is very small but that's the only criticism

Note: All of the reviews and photos have been copied over from the previous gym location, so a lot of the comments made here don't necessarily apply! This is a great new gym. Loads of benches, 6 bench press stations (2 flat, 2 incline, 2 decline), 4 Olympic platforms downstairs (2 with power cages) along with 3 squat racks and 2 Smith machines. There are also a lot of other plate and cable machines, with a big studio, a good sized spin class, and good changing rooms. This is a big step up from the last location!

Brilliant gym! I turned up when there was no spin class and Adam kindly let me use his AUX cable and phone to have my own spin session in the studio.. I was ready to go home otherwise! Got my workout in and I feel good. Great gym, with fantastic facilities.. definitely give them a go!

A fantastic new Gym located perfectly near the Docklands at portway in preston, kitted out with the latest/Brand new equipment on 2 levels , brand new changing rooms with Sauna and hot and cold showers . Also some amazing classes included in your membership, and a great staffing team on hand to help with all your fitness needs 👍💪.

I use this gym for general fitness and have just started to work through a programme from one of the PTs there. I am two weeks in and am already starting to feel fantastic - health is definitely the real wealth. I find the staff at the gym are really approachable and offer advice when I am using the equipment. There are plenty of fully stocked cleaning stations at the gym which is important to me. Peak times are not too busy and I rarely have to wait long to use equipment etc. I find going to a gym better than working out at home and for such as small cost per month - it’s a no brainer!

This Gym is quite small but has every machine you could want or need packed in. There is a small room with 2 punch bags on the ground floor. A weights area, cardio section and a big frame for multi use upstairs along with a 12.5m track for the sled. Morning visits are usually less busy than the afternoon but a great Gym overall!

Great gym with friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere. All the equipment is great quality. There is a large variety of equipment and the whole place is continuously kept exceptionally clean. There is a good distance between a lot of the equipment so it doesn’t have a tightly crammed in feel that some gyms have.

This is a great new gym.What a big improvement from the last location! Loads of machines and no queuing for racks which is brill. Staff are ace, make it feel like a second home and always happy to help. I value the fact they kept it so affordable yet getting so much more for your money - including all the classes! Always adapted for anyones abilities and capabilities. On a side note, Vince (PT) is an absolute legend who has helped me progress over the past few months and made me feel more comfortable in the gym. Would recommend him any day of the week. Would never go anywhere else!!! :)

The staff in this gym are knowledgeable, welcoming and provide such a fun and friendly atmosphere. The equipment is the best in the Preston area catering for everyone's training needs whether it's weights, cardio, fitness classes, or heavy lifters and crossfitters. Joined the Gym when it opened, it was convinenet as I pass it on the way home, The place is always clean and tidy, all the staff a professional and very helpful , there is a lot of classes you can do, there is something for everybody. The facility's are top notch, it is one of the best gyms I have been to, There are no contracts pay monthly £20 well worth the money

I loved the old gym, the bigger space and extra equipment made it a better gym for me, despite the lack of working lockers. The new gym is very nice, but smaller and the machines aren't as good - the belt fed ones feel awful to use for example.

It's a great gym with great facilities. However if you want to go in the evenings don't bother as everytime I've tried the carpark has been full with cars parked on both sides of the road up till KFC. Also they keep playing "it's Friday then" on Mondays.

I found this to be a welcoming, friendly gym where the PTs run great classes and help ensure that you use proper form. It's also good value, and unlike some other gyms, runs classes at lunch time (in addition to mornings and evenings)

The atmosphere of the place made me feel like working out. All types of people at different fitness levels so my goals of not being an athlete was not a big deal. An improvement would be keypads on the lockers, spaced out weights section and more signage.

Great gym, price is cheap for what you get in this gym. The atmosphere in gym makes you wanna go forwards and train hard. All PT (Personal Trainers) can provide high quality support and classes, thus, you can always find things to do and improve. If you drive you get free parking up to 2h twice a day so can't go wrong with that. There is a lot of equipment so you will always find something that will allow you to train any muscle you have decided to train. If you are not sure if you want to join this gym then take a free day pass and see for yourself what's this gym offers. There also free steam room in changing rooms.

Not unhappy with this gym for the price. I joined after lockdown because I am UCLan staff and our gym is still shut. I have my YMCA level 2 gym instructor (did it for a hobby) and I am not sure why anyone would complain about a lack of strength equipment. They've got some great strength and conditioning equipment. My issue is the cardio equipment is somewhat out of date compared to the best stuff available (it is the type of equipment I was using back 2004 when I first got into training as a younger woman in her early 20s). However, it is reflected in the price. Be warned no televisions/radio stations on the cardio equipment. Life has moved on since the capability of some of the cardio equipment. There are more sturdy treadmills out there also (not that the ones in JD are bad!)

Best facilities; inexpensive, clean and friendly. Great atmosphere at this gym. Probably the best in Preston. Membership is great and there are additional classes etc. Very spacious and you wont find that you'll be waiting around for equipment.

The staff and personal trainers are dead welcoming and chilled , friendly atmostere .my first time at jd gym today nervous and they made me feel at ease . had a personal trainer today she is a great instructer very encouraging and friendly and gave me really good tips highly recommended the gym. Also the gym is in great condition and easy acess to gym equipment and nice clean changing rooms . defo gunna be a regular from now on.

Hardly any staff which means you have to have yet another app on your phone to get in and out. Also the weight plates are scattered around the gym which gives you an opportunity to increase your daily step count whilst searching for the one you need. Also the music that is pumped incessantly into the gym is the sort of stuff boy racers doing doughnuts in a supermarket car park at night have blaring from their cars,only they have it slightly lower volume. Basically a means to an end,get in, get the workout done and get out again (if your phone works)
