We’re a family from The Midlands but when we’re here visiting family we’ve been coming to Morgan’s for numerous years. It may only be once or twice a year but they have always be accommodating & sorted out a membership for the days we are here.
The staff are all helpful & having only ever used the gym today I joined in with the Thursday morning spin (9:15-10:00am) which I would recommend to go too.
Definitely would recommend this gym 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

The gym is big. It's got multiple machines for every muscle group. Plenty of free weights, area and benches. Great large clean changing rooms, with plenty of room , lockers and shower cubicles.

Morgan’s is a welcoming, warm gym where they build packages around your needs to make sure you get the most out of your membership. I’m on a classes only pass and love the variety, the instructors and the feel to classes; I only joined in December but always felt welcomed and a part of the class. During lockdown, the team at Morgan’s have been amazing; they set up an online weight loss package usually worth £100s which they offered for free; allowing members to keep on track with diet and exercise plans whilst the gym has been shut. Couldn’t be happier having joined here.

When Lockdown is over and normality exists.....Where do I start, this gym is what I think about when I think of the perfect gym. It started with location, ten minutes from my house. It quickly moved to the awesome energy and knowledge that you get from the trainer's here, they are egar to help and will take time with you. They understand what you are striving for and they WILL get you there and further, while having fun. The classes are intense for every level of athlete, and you will love the diverse workout combinations. I will definitely be returning for round two, hope to see you there!

I joined Morgans just before lockdown and am so grateful for Morgans Front Room Fitness! John & Gem are amazing, their wealth of knowledge, their tenacity, motivation and laughs have really helped keep a lot of us sane as well as FIT! Just completed the 4 week challenge here and it has been the best! Have never stuck to any food or exercise programs but I did with this one... it's not a diet, it's a lifestyle! So much support from all the trainers and staff, everyone is so friendly and help anyway they can. Massive thankyou to you all especially Jack for the killer workouts. Well if there was ever a time to recommend Morgan’s gym , it is now!! I have been a member of the Truro Gym for a couple of years now . I have always gone in , been greeted by lovely friendly staff , done my own thing , but advice and assistance has been at hand if Needed! Always been very happy with the facilities , atmosphere, layout, cleanliness, everything has been spot on.....
Then we got to lockdown! What now??.......Well as I was thinking where do I try and exercise at home and what do I do to try and keep myself motivated, John and Gemma set up a fantastic Morgan’s front room fitness page!! That meant we could stay active , and keep fit even though we couldn’t go out!!
Over 3 months ago this page was created and the daily fitness exercise sessions started....great content , great enthusiasm, great music, an amazing variety of full body exercises , some with weights (John always made sure he adapted the workouts so you could use household items as weights , filling milk bottles or petrol cans with water !! ) , other workouts just using body weight , working every muscle in our body to help motivate us and keep us fit and healthy both physically and mentally .
Morgan’s offer a VIP weight loss programme that is normally paid for , but again John and Gemma decided to offer this out to the group for free . A 12 week programme that not only offered the daily workouts delivered live , but also a complete meal planner , with recipes , shopping lists , calorie and macro counters , and working it with my fitness pal , you could easily workout your daily plan and make sure you were sticking to it! The recipes were delicious , the hard work was done for you working out all of the nutritional information , all we had to do was cook it and enjoy it😋😋!!!
On top of that John would answer any questions you had , deliver live chats of different aspects of fitness and nutrition and generally make sure we were ok.
We’ve come to the end of the challenge , it is wonderful to see so many great results from everyone in the group . I lost 11lb and 30cm , which I was chuffed with . I do wonder how much Weight I would have put on over the 12 week lockdown without this to keep me motivated!
I have learnt so much from the passion that John shows about fitness , nutrition and overall general wellbeing . I don’t need to spend an hour on the cross trainer ( I used to , and thought if I don’t I won’t lose weight!!!) , a short sharp 20/30 minute workout 4 times a
Week gives great results , gives us more free time and also allows the body to recover when using all of our different muscles to the max!
John also taught me I can eat carbs, and fats and not put on weight ( I’ve tried so many different diets that have cut these out in the past but the weight creeps back on!)
It has been so interesting learning how exercise and nutrition go hand in hand , to a fitter healthier lifestyle . What to eat straight after exercise and what to avoid later on in the day!! I can come away from this lockdown experience armed with all of the excellent advice and information that has been given by John and Gemma , from the Morgan’s family and know that I can continue to stay healthy in body and mind .
Going back to my first line , as I said if there is ever a time to recommend Morgan’s gym , Truro and Plymouth , it is NOW!!
If you’ve never been to a gym or been to other gyms in the past , give them a try , you will
Not be disappointed , and it’s never too late to start ! I will be fifty this year and never felt fitter ! In these current circumstances, it’s unfortunate that gyms have had to close, which has left many people without their chosen form of exercise.
John from Morgan’s gym first formed a facebook page to help people stay motivated and healthy by putting on their daily workouts which are done live. The workouts have included weights (TUT) and a short HIIT training. John has worked tirelessly and very imaginatively to think or ways we can carry out exercises at home with the kind of general things we'd all have around the house. I have been so impressed with the amount of effort, time, imagination that John has put in, and care that clearly shows through.
This then progressed to the 4 week challenge and now 8 week challenge. I've loved it so far, the daily workouts, the meal plans, the motivation and accountability and support has just been outstanding. I don't know of any other gyms who are working so hard to support others health and diet. You seem like a lovely family and the workouts also come with laughter and genuineness. You wouldn't believe how important it is in these times.
I work as a associate psychologist in adult mental health and exercise has always been my way of switching my mind away from work and grounding myself again. Exercising really is key to me maintaining my mental health and I really do believe that these past four weeks have been my saviour and helped me maintain my mental health so I can support others in there's. I was also due to get married this year, which has been postponed after I had my dress fitting, this has been so helpful in helping me stay motivated, keep to a healthy diet, when during these times all I really want it chocolate, sweets and cider. Lol!
So thank you so much for all your effort! Here's to the next 8 weeks!
I would highly recommend joining the challenge for now and when the gym re-opens to join the gym. If the last four weeks are anything to go by, it is clear that you will be really very well looked after.

Where to start. When lockdown started and the gyms closed, I tried to stay focused and keep to a workout routine. I did some online workouts and tried to do things that I remembered from my own gym classes.
It’s hard to stay focused and on it though when you’re on your own. There’s no cheerleading, guidance or even healthy competition that drives you to the last burpee.
I had been given access to Morgan’s Front Row Fitness by my own gym and had tried a couple of the online classes but it was a bit sporadic.
Then I came across John and Gemma doing their Facebook sessions and decided to give it a go. Having done one, John talked about trying to get people on zoom and without thinking about how challenging it might be to join in with people I didn’t know & who could see me too - I decided to give it a go.
I am so glad that I did. Until I went back to school a fortnight ago, I was joining in with the sessions on a daily basis and the rest of my day was planned around them. John and Gemma were so encouraging, warm and supportive that it became the highlight of my day. Every session was something different and I almost looked forward to whatever John had in mind - I say almost because I’ve discovered that I’m really not a fan of burpees or sit ups when they appear so regularly in a EMOM or WOD 🤣 However despite that, I always felt like I had this with John and Gemma behind me. John and Gemma did every workout with us (& sometimes their children joined in too), it was definitely a case of we’re all In this together.
During this time, I decided to join the 4week challenge where I was given access to a huge range of meal options, along with an understanding of how to work out my calorie intake and understand the importance of a balance of protein, carbs and fats. I lost 7lbs and 7inches off my body and feel so much more comfortable in myself and it’s all down to Morgan’s.
I’m over 300 miles away but I can quite honestly say that if I was closer, I’d join Morgan’s and would be recommending it to everyone I know. I’ve already raved about them and what we do, to just about everyone I know anyway & will have to be careful not to go on and on about them when I return to my own gym.
John and Gemma are a lovely couple that clearly love what they do and that shows. You get drawn in by their enthusiasm and it’s catching. It’s felt like being part of a large family and I’ve absolutely loved being part of it.

I have been a member at Morgan’s for a few years now, and have always found it a welcoming and happy place to be. However, it’s only been since lockdown that I’ve really accessed the help and support they have available (using the VIP programme) and what a difference it has made……… I have lost weight (almost a stone at time of writing), not only in a healthy and sustainable way, but I have been re-educated about how to best do it so I can maintain it in the future. I have tried Slimming World and done the Fast diet in the past, with limited success, but I feel so much healthier and in control of my diet using the knowledge Morgan’s have given me and learning the science behind it. Knowledge is power, as they say! It has also showed me a new way of training and that how spending an hour on the treadmill will not get me the results I want to achieve. “Time Under Tension” is King and the way forward in the future!! Thanks so much John for all the support along my journey :)

Been at this gym for 4 years. There's deffiantly something for everyone. Staff are friendly and helpful. You can train from 6am - 10pm so opening times are good. Can't wait to return after Xmas!

I joined morgans gym on a 6 week challenge .nutrition and fitness , it is well and truly the hardest but the best challenge i have ever done . Everyone was so supportive and helpful giving useful ideas and I just want to say thank you to everyone who helped me achieve my goal. Its safe to say i never thought i would be able to stick to it affer failing different diets in the past . But with the help of all the great staff at morgans , and the lovely people i have met on this challenge i did it wooo . Thank you so much 😊

New to Morgan's, been a member there a few weeks but it's safe to say the atmosphere and staff are great! Very welcoming to new members, the equipment might look daunting but everyone is willing to help with any questions, and even when you go at peak times, there's more than enough stations to be getting on with something! Best gym I've been to by far!

Possibly this is a review more for Paul Coker the physiotherapist at Morgans Gym.
I had never heard of the gym before but after a recommendation to see the physio there I visited for a session to work on my legs and hips after a running injury.
I now attend regular appointments with the physio at the gym and the staff at Morgans are always friendly and welcoming.
