Funny shop this one.. basically homebase which used to have the air of a step up from B&Q but this particular store doesnt 🤣 I can't even describe it but it's more like a big step down. Always has been. And more expensive and yet there we were. Basically chose to spend the budget of a weekly food shop on wood because Home Bargs had run out. It's nice wood, don't get me wrong - slow burn & all that. But so little in each bag it's an absolute wonder. Had my son scavenging the floor for random pieces to pop into one of the bags just to justify it. I just hope they pay their wood choppers £25 an hour which would make it feel less irritating 😂 It's unlikely. I won't be buying there again unless I'm absolutely desperate.

Love homebase. Bought a cool selection of plants an alocasia and some cacti and succulents all in great condition. Perfect!

Whilst there is loads of stock in store it just feels drab. On our visit it was dimly lit and looks worn out. In desperate need of a refurb. When going to a DIY shop it's not confidence filling when the store is in need of work. When the main competition b and q is well lit and displays have a fresh look it's difficult to want to shop there instead.

I have not visited this store before. I appreciate therefore that things are very different under the current circumstances. However it would be helpful if the staff could have some understanding that not all customers are aware of the rules when approaching the checkout. I was not told that I needed to have a basket or trolley when entering and it was an odd set up of putting your purchased goods down on 1 side of the checkout then having to go around the other side to pay. Overall without these rules in place I was happy with my purchase.

I wanted to buy two matching floor lamps, but only one was on the shelf due to the size of the box. The staff on duty on Sunday 15 march were fantastic, hunting for another one for me as it wasn't obvious where it would be. They found another and I was so pleased to have it. I can't thank them enough for the time and trouble they took without complaint!

We had quite a few different kinds of questions and requests and although the staff were rushed off their feet everyone of them were polite, professional and willing to help. One young lady was half an hour late taking her lunch break. Willingness like this is hard to find in superstores these days, so it was most welcome. Had to take a strimmer back that no longer worked a few months after I purchased it, staff couldn't be more helpful, quickly swapped it for a new replacement one with the minimum of fuss. Great customer service!!

Was looking for a new kitchen, had some great deals with all the discounts and a free Neff oven,we had great customer care from Ed and he came up with the best design for our kitchen there was no pushing for us to buy he took his time in a relaxed attitude and really listened to what we was looking for giving us the best storage design and advice .we went on to buy the country living kitchen its excellent quality and made in Britain fully assembled we came away feeling confident with our choice.

This store seems to be increasing it's prices ridiculously since it was taken over. It used to be a really reasonable useful store but even it's plants have been increased dramatically so grow from seed guys and get them online

Another year, another awesome real Christmas tree. The Birdman Spruce trees here are excellent. We've been coming for years and even when it's time to take the tree down it still looks in mint condition. It's a big store but never gets that busy - but always a good selection and staff are helpful when needed.

A really useful range of products and the staff are super-helpful. The only reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 is because the disabled parking bays were mostly underwater because of, presumably, a blocked drain. I got my feet wet! Grr.

Nice Christmas section....no prices on a lot of stuff though. Thought the cashier was avoiding the point putting a glove on to handle our cash when she had just touched all the products we been carrying with no gloves on

Found an Outback brand twin burner gas barbecue for about £110.00 - seemed the best build quality and price after many visits to the usual outlets plus garden centres etc. Also purchased an all metal garden bench which for £42 seemed pretty fair value. Store layout is a tad chaotic, and getting access to the bench I bought in store was quite challenging, but Homebase has some interesting lines that I haven't seen anywhere else. Always worth a look and not so 'out of kilter' on price as it used to be years ago.

I I love DIY places and Homebase is a lovely place to go for redecorating ideas. Staff are extremely helpful every time I've been there. I would love to give five stars for the fact that they have customer toilets, but the stench from the men's toilet is sickening to the nose and stomach. Apart from that, great place.

I like Homebase, they have a great selection of DIY stuff for home and the garden. It went downhill after the takeover from Budgens, but now it's picked up again and seems back to normal. Good selection of own brand tools too. Better to see exactly what you're getting unlike catalogue or online outlets.

Like most DIY stores has a good selection of home stuff at reasonable prices. I was looking for ceiling tiles to insulate a small room ceiling. Tried all the cheap shops and B&Q with no luck. Finally I tried Homebase and they had them although they were pricey they done the job.

Called looking for an item it turned they didn't sell. However a floor manager was extremely helpful and told us where we could buy it and even took out his phone and found the nearest branch for us. That is what I call good customer service, thank you homebase

As far as Homebase goes this one is ok. I find the whole chain a tad on the expensive side. The range of products is ok. I'm not sure what their fitted bathroom and kitchen stuff is like though. We would normally choose a local shop.

A reasonably wide selection of home and garden stuff. More user friendly than Wickes or B&Q, though Wickes is less expensive and B&Q seems to have more stuff for bigger jobs. Out of those three, Homebase is certainly the best for layout and customer service and has similar prices to B&Q. One tip though. They stock Johnstones paint. It’s cheaper than their own brand for a reason. It’s like watered down Tippex! Took 3 coats just to lighten the colour of the wall. It was like looking at the wall through a mild fog.
