Reviews of Gardiner Haskins Interiors
F. R.
Not quite as good as before but still worth buying from as they have maintained their high quality and standards.
P. W.
Went for lamp shade from the Lumination franchises shop inside, disappointed as not much colour choice. 3 Stars.
The new kitchen and bathroom section is really nice and we will be back to look at the kitchen department when we renew our kitchen soon. 5 Stars

We recently purchased our kitchen and appliances from Gardiner Haskins. The quality of the kitchen is amazing and the service provided by Alec and the fitter Paul was second to none. Alec has such a wealth of knowledge and experience and provided sound advice from start to finish. In particular, he spent a a lot of time with us at the outset to understand what we wanted and what would work in our space. Nothing was too much trouble. The installed kitchen is perfect and has exceeded all our expectations. We wouldn't use anyone else.

We purchased a new Harrisons mattress and the customer service was excellent. Monike was very helpful and gave us professional advice with no sales pressure.
The store is very well laid out and has free customer parking.
S. B.
Great service in the Bed department from Monika and Seath. Both very informative offering impartial advice. One of the few stockists around bristol of Harrison Spinks mattresses. Bought one in the winter sale, fantastic value for money for a phenomenal mattress. Can’t recommend highly enough.
M. W.
Popped in to look at lighting. Very good selection, saw things there i hadn't seen elsewhere and will be buying a reading lamp. Bought a couple of things in the bathroom side at a good price.

We have had a new kitchen. From start to finish a fantastic job. Alec who designed it was amazing, lots of good ideas which I would never have thought of. The timing was all perfect. The fitting, first class job. Everything finished not waiting for anything, no small bits left outstanding. Just perfect. 100% recommend.

Great lighting department.
Very helpful staff

We wanted our ensuite shower room redesigned and decided to use Gardiner Haskins as we have always had good service from them over the years. They have now moved from the building they were in previously, to one just across the road. The new showroom is great with lots of different examples to give inspiration and ideas. David Rodgers one of the bathroom designers was excellent, really helpful and patient as we were uncertain about what to choose regarding shower layout and units, and changed our mind a couple of times. It was great to see the CAD design pictures to have a visual the room. We are delighted with the finished result. If shopping in the store, car parking is free and a short walk from the store. Would definitely recommend.

Indifferent after sale service. However 110% for Craig Tarr who did the electrics, plumbing, tiling and fitting the kitchen. He is absolutely superb. Nothing was too much trouble.

I purchased an outdoor lounge set but couldn't see a delivery option on checkout so had to select click n collect. I figured it would be flat pack. Had an email from the store within 24 hours asking when I wanted to collect so i replied and said I would be there Monday. When i arrived the box was as big as my car and the furniture was built already! Richard in the warehouse was great he and a driver - sorry I didn't get your name mate agreed to help me and get it delivered the same day. I paid a small fee and within the hour the van was outside dropping off the furniture. Stunning service and thanks to both of you for making a bad situation turn out well. Cheers.

Closing down after 30 years in Bristol. A very sad day. Excellent store with fantastic staff.
I stand corrected, it's not closing but moving to new buildings. What an excellent piece of news. I have shopped at this store for over 30 years and plan to shop here for the next 30.
I will certainly be there for the opening of the new building.

This is this is the second kitchen that we have had from Gardiner Haskins Interiors.
We were lucky enough to have Alec Yull offer his advice on both occasions (First time was 16 years ago!) Alec is amazing. There’s no hard sell. Alec is very calm, knowledgeable and helpful. His product knowledge is incredible. Alec was meticulous in his planning. The standard of after sales service from Alec was a joy to experience.
Both kitchens that we have from Gardner Haskins Interiors have been superb. The quality of the kitchens at Gardiners is staggeringly good, as are the designs.
The kitchen fitters were professional, conscientious and very polite. They did everything that they could to make the whole installation process run as smoothly as possible and with the minimum inconvenience.
I can recommend Gardiner Haskins Interiors and Alec Yull without any reservations. We are very proud and pleased with our new kitchen. Our friends and relatives always comment on the quality of the kitchen and the clever touches that have gone along way to making our kitchen special and unique.
Alan and Karen Monaghan.

This place is hilarious, like stepping back in time. To be fair, they have a decent stock of quality, useful items for the home and garden, usually at competitive prices. The staff seem totally disinterested - I get the impression business is definitely not booming but it's a Bristol institution!

Everything and I mean everything you may need from paint to new bathroom suite. Went in this morning to see what they could do with respect to a bathroom tap that had become faulty 15 months after purchase. 10 mins later I walked out with a replacement tap. Staff could not have done anything else to make the issue a more pleasant experience. I'm going to buy all future stuff there to give me peace of mind. Fantastic customer service.

We purchased our Crown kitchen from Gardiner Haskins from Alec, he was very helpful designing and helping us with choices of all the various extras ie sinks hob ovens.
Fitted by Craig with perfection.
After sales excellent when had flaw on cupboard door.
Would and do highly recommend kitchen department.
Thanks again.

If you want an excellent lunch at a very reasonable price, GH has a very nice cafe with a good selection. Recommended.
It would have been 5 stars, except that Gardner Haskins' primary business is not as a restaurant, but if you're shopping for the home, don't miss a nice meal there; one small criticism is those annoying steel teapots that leak when you pour them! Otherwise, very happy.

'Hats off' to Gardiner Haskins in Bristol who have a really super, helpful, polite and knowledgeable bathroom designer in their Bathroom showroom. David Rodgers is a credit to this company and went to extraordinary lengths to ensure we ended up with the right products that performed well for our new en-suite bathroom. I can't thank him enough for the time and trouble he took over our initial order and our follow up conversations. Well done David, you really know what excellent customer service means and deliver it superbly.
S. B.
Always price competitive with helpful friendly staff and cheaper installation costs and removals than their bigger competitors! Good selection of goods across the board. Always go to Gardner's first before anywhere els
C. R.
A shadow of its former self. Gone are many of the departments we all knew and loved. They've vacated their old building and moved across the alley and are showcasing up market home interiors. Don't bother going unless you are looking for a new kitchen or bathroom. Bedrooms are upstairs.
L. W.
This shop has always been our first go to shop when needing household items. Staff always polite and helpful. We are very sad to see it changing but will still make good use of the new smaller shop.

On a wet Monday afternoon I decided to read your reviews and must just say......
On Saturday last we visited the Bristol Store to check out fridges etc. The Lady staff member could not have been more helpful in trying to advise but struggled over specification information . Suggest a "summary info card" in each appliance with headline details would assist all concerned. Also the male staff member (been there for years) who assisted us in unravelling the complexities of your now ridiculously expensive/over complicated /spend £10/but must in one transaction/cannot use the token twice/car parking system could not have been more helpful.
PS Web Site still useless, will have to visit Store again when sufficient dosh saved for parking.

Great place if you're looking for home decorating products - superb paint range in particular. The staff are a bit of a let-down however: plenty of disinterested, late middle-aged women who think they are doing you a favour by being there - hanging around the till asking each other what time their shift ends seems to be all part of the job description. The furniture upstairs is of course cheaper on-line so best look here for what you want, make a note of the product description and buy later on.
P. A.
We went to Gardiner Haskins especially to order curtains and cushions but were sad to see that they had vacated the big old building, Fortunately for us, fabrics, bedding and kitchens were alive and well in the Brunel rooms across the road. We were able to choose from a great range of quality fabrics and the care and advice we received from Klaudia was very helpful. Would have rated FIVE stars but although the curtains were superb, the finishing on the cushions was not perfect. However, Klaudia made no fuss in ordering replacements for us that we are very pleased with.
C. K.
We bought new bedroom furniture here. Staff member was extremely helpful and patient, as we changed our mind several times, before finally deciding. Thank you.
M. B.
A long established homeware, bathroom and kitchen store selling an excellent range of fixtures and fittings. Also a useful source of DIY materials and products. We have made a number of major purchases for our home, including a range cooker and bathroom suite.
L. R.
The staff are all lovely and friendly but I can't help but feel its gotten stuck in a bit of a time warp, it all feels a bit 1980's...other than the price which reflects the cost of goods in the year 2080. It can be obscenely expensive with some things...a tube of gripfill for example costs £2.30 in tool station vs £4.99 here!!! If your buying 10 or more tubes then that makes for a lot of money.
r. k.
the new showroom is really nice and although they have less lines there still seems to be a wide choice from the ones they've kept. The staff are knowledgeable as ever.
M. N.
Brilliant place, I've always got what I want in there, staff very friendly and helpful, it's a pity they are moving over the road, I don't think it will be the same, more done on line, the staff that are leaving thank you for all the help you have provided over the years. A sad customer.
C. B.
You get everything you need for the home. Kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, flooring, and all maintenance and repair supplies. There's also a small restaurant on the upper level if you're in the middle of your shopping spree. However, it's not among the cheapest so if you're strapped for cash it's probably not the last place to go.
D. P.
Bought bathroom sink unit ,led mirror and shower screen was served by Nick excellent service and help would definitely recommend buying from Gardiners brilliant, also bought Smeg cooker really please

In the middle of a refurb so not quite up to its usual quality. Not many department stores around, lots of interesting floors. Look forward to it getting fully complete.
D. B.
Staff is nice and helpful always give refunds, products are nice quality and you can find many British made stuff. The cafe is one of the best in Bristol.
T. Z.
I am pleased to say that a previously reported issue has been resolved to our satisfaction after discussion at director level. Such concern over a single customer complaint is commendable.

Ii visited a lot of DIY centres today and you have the best selection of wallpaper at a great cost .. i only came in by chance so its a shame you do not advertise your selection on your website! ..... you should....
J. W.
They are refurbishing in Bristol at the moment so they have a sale on in curtains etc not sure if it includes bedding. New kitchen design centre is very nice.

Idealy situated for a motorhome stopover no facilities. A good store to visit and near Cabot circus shopping centre.
M. (.
Closing down sale in progress, some real bargains but generally still over priced, days of the department store definitely numbered
K. R.
Such a shade of its former self. I'm sure it's great if you're after an interior showroom, but that's all it is now!
B. K.
Lots of different paints and wallpapers when decorating. Also, kitchen department has wide range of electrical goods.
S. B.
