A staple for building supplies but that staff can be a bit hit and miss. If you're hoping to have a product cut down to your desired size you're better of shouting for help than using the bell provided.

Standard diy store. Stock just about everything you could need. Only problem is we wanted tiles but the ones we wanted were a few boxes short and they couldn't source more so we went elsewhere, but prices are usually competitive.

I have been to B&Q twice in the last few months. The first time looking for help with kitchen work tops. Justin who was working in the kitchen show room was beyond helpful! I honestly wish I had bought my whole kitchen through him not just the work tops! Due to him being so helpful I bought a friend back a month later and searched for poor Justin in the showroom and again he was brilliant. We chose some worktops with his help again, very pleased. Best customer service I’ve had in a long time.

It's OK. Store is big and is usually stocked OK but very messy and hard for you or the staff to find what you need. Have had a fair few issues with click and collect, items not available despite placing the order and making the trip. Also had the wrong item given to me a few times. The store often has blocked isles so it's hard to get around with a pram or with poor mobility. Staff are friendly and helpful when you ask for help finding something.

Standard B&Q it was ok quite a big store in comparison to other stores. Staff very helpful unless you meet the novice assistant who does not know where things are yet🤔😀. Most odd in these covid times they dont insist you scan in using the NHS app and the toilets are still closed not sure why when other stores toilets are mostly open and have been through the pandemic.

I intended on buying a kitchen from one of B&Qs competitors, but then we met Krysta at B@Q Cardiff Gate. From the moment we said hello, Krysta couldn’t do enough to help us make the correct choices for us, not the choices that would cost the most, but the ones right for us, the space we had to work with, and our budget. We mustn’t forget the other team members there though. We often popped in to look at other bathroom fitting etc and there was always someone ready to explain product benefits and again lead us to making the right choices. All in all, if you are looking for the best customer service during a very challenging project, go and see the team at B&Q in Cardiff Gate. They are truly a credit to the brand.

It's a shame this place has cornered the market in DIY. If I recall they used to employ former tradesmen who knew their stuff and were able to give you sound advice and support based on their experience and knowledge. Clearly this is no longer the case. Pretty expensive but handy if you need something today and can't wait for delivery from an online alternative.

The only thing that I didn't quite understand was that we were told by staff that everybody had to go in with a trolley - even if it was just to get one small thing, this was said to be an attempt by the store to help combat covid-19, although surely this would mean more touching of items? Other than that, it was not too crowded and there was no queueing required when I visited.

Good size for a B&Q - large enough that it has everything you need, not so large it takes you an hour to walk across the store to the one thing you need. Staff are usually friendly and seem to have a foolproof memory for remembering where everything is. Could do with slightly better self service checkouts though.

Ordered some items online but they were out of stock in the Cardiff Gate branch. Was told to pickup the items up from a different branch. Since the special offer had ended I had to pay almost tripple the price at the other branch. Spoke to Richard at Cardiff Gate branch who put 'customer care' above all. Richard looked into the problem and dealt with it smoothly and efficiently. Thanks Richard, you are a star!

My first visit to Cardiff gate bramch. Most of the staff was good but as usual one bad fish makes the pond smell bad...guy in garden centre was rude, while I'm over 3 meter away and I'm wearing a mask, I wanted to ask a question, he panicky warned me "please stay away", he wasn't wearing mask himself. I think covid has impacted mental health for sure but it has also given excuse to some people to behave erratically!

Very quiet HGV park, only room for about 20 or so lorries and as long as none are refrigerated then it's quiet , very clean toilets ,KFC and Burger king open

Set up very well for Covid 19. Seperste ques for collections and to go into the store. You need to get there early or be prepared to que for a long time to get in. Your queing in the open. So he prepared depending on what the weather is doing. They had not got all the stuff required and waiting for deliveries. Could not say when deliveries were due. But the should have got on top of these problems by now. Not long reopened when we visited. Have a look on line to place order. At least your undercover when your waiting to be served.

Love B&Q. They have good social distancing policy, and whilst we are still knockdown, it's good to have it open to get those pesky DIY jobs finally done. Staff actually made a point of coming around asking if there were any NHSstaff so that they could have access to the front of the very long queue. I appreciated being allowed in as I'm a key worker, after queuing for at least 25min. Staff were courteous, and helpful. Will go there again. :)

Safe Vivid procedures. Arranged to meet with bathroom design staff in January and a member of staff made an effort to get the right person for us to speak to because no staff in bathroom section.

Large store with lots of choice, knowledgeable and helpful staff when I visited, large car park with lots of disabled spaces. Visited again to try and buy some handles and internal door locks, needed help with purchase as items were non standard but couldn't find anyone, there were 2 people serving the large queue so I left. They need more staff.

Covid 19 layout confusing near construction materials section and stock level online for what I wanted showed 74 items, when I got there, there were only 3 and the bags were split with some of the contents missing, with no staff or bags to put the remains in available. Hence three stars.

No problem for parking can get most things in store but beware of so called expert knowledge from staff as i wasted nearly eight pounds on stuff i bought from there on the advice of a member of staff to extend the outlet pipe on my new washing machine as the pipe was too short followed his instructions and it leaked everywhere when i put machine on, ended up buying a kit from Amazon cost me half the price and did the job perfectly no leaks whatsoever moral is don't trust everything your told and if you are going to do something you're not familiar with research it firdt

It's a big DIY store selling all the things you'd expect at a DIY store! I've always found the staff very helpful and usually well stocked with whatever we've needed. Last time we went there was a shedload of carparking and a we got a carload of shed!!! The other great thing about this B&Q is that there is now a well know coffee shop in the car park too!!!

Probably the best place for one stop DIY, from professional standard tools plus handyman tools to everything you could need to make your home improvement. Helpful and Knowledgeable staff always willing to give you advice. Prices are great and sales are frequent. There is also an extensive range of garden products from flowers to garden sheds. A major superstore waiting for some plants for my apartment staff were very helpful but I did find that certain things were very overpriced for what they were and offer see if you're paying quality the price was a lot more overall a good visit as they reduce some plants for me the staff were very helpful I did try to order a taxi but it took over an hour and a half before one came to me as I was moving a few items it was necessary for me to have a taxi so I feel that they need to make sure this is service is very readily available for clients to come and purchase large items that have no transport of their own

Went to the Pontprennau store today for help in planning a very small shower room where every centimetre would be crucial. We were treated to a coffee by Dave whilst we waited to meet James Southgate who was tremendously helpful and took time to plan our new shower room very carefully. We were given a CAD plan and 3D view to take away with us and there was absolutely no pressure to purchase. However, with such competitive prices and knowledgeable staff, we placed our order with confidence.

Visited Tradepoint at B&Q. Service at Pontprennau branch exceptionally slow. Talking to several tradesmen in the lengthening queue they told me it was always like that at this branch. Two speeds dead slow and stop. Must say the centre in Cardiff West is much more efficient. A management issue it appears.

Cardiff bus 58 and 59 run there plus Nat cross Cardiff service to Pontprennau. On an industrial estate featuring Asda superstore and furniture outlets. Worth a visit.
