I telephoned Kent Blaxill & spoke to James as I had a query regarding some paint that I wanted to add some glitter to. James was extremely helpful & answered my query without hesitation. When I went to purchase my paint again it was James who attended to me, once again he was extremely helpful professional & polite. Being in the retail sector myself I felt that this was exceptional customer service & James is an asset to your company. I would have no hesitation to recommend James & Kent Blaxill to anyone. I will definitely be returning.

Today, I was served by a nice young man called Dan and he was very helpful. I bought 3 lots of path and patio sealer and told him that I found them cheaper with 35% reduction online. He said he will go and checked it out to see if he can reduced the shops price for me. He did just that! …. Adjust to match online price. I am a very very happy bunny. I definitely will go back to Kent Blaxill and may even open an account with them, although I am not in business, just an ordinary client. Thank you Dan C Khetarpal

Visited yesterday to purchase some paint for my composite door. Was greeted by the area manager who was extremely helpful in advising me the best course of action for painting a door that can offer mixed results when painting. He was an example of what customers service should be. Being an area manager he could of just been out the back, however he went out of his way to help.

I was badly advised by my first builder and order was wrong, Kent Blaxill allowed me to change my order. They also held items for a few weeks and delivered at a time that suited me. Had 2 x 5ft curved mirrors. One broken corner. Took into glass centre. Huge cost to re-make, but was offered cutting 5cm off bottom of each, re-polishing the edges and re-drilling the fixing points. All done in under half an hour, cost £12. Absolutely brilliant service; helpful advice, good execution. Perhaps lucky to get it done while I waited, but hey, let's not complain!

I've just purchased my first property and a friend of mine recommended that I speak to the guys behind the decorating counter at Kent Blaxill for all my decorating needs. I have to say I was hugely impressed with the service from James C. He was efficient, helpful and friendly. The prices were very competitive too! The little bit extra I spent on high quality trade paints was then saved on the tools I needed so it probably worked out to be about the same as buying from the competitors! I've since decorated my flat and I've been massively impressed with the quality of the products, paints and tools I've used. I'm not a professional decorator by any stretch of the imagination but the finish on my walls, ceilings and woodwork looks fantastic! Very pleased and will be shopping at KB in future!

They have almost everything you want here but it will come with a price that's higher than the bigger competitors. Good bunch of staff work here and are really helpful too. I've only ever had one issue and that was in the paint department. I went in for another can of paint the same size and colour I had brought a week earlier and was told in no uncertain terms that not only did they not have one they never sold them, ever. I told the guy I brought it from them and pointed out the bloke who sold it to me only to be told I was wrong and they had never In the history of Kent Blaxil sold that particular paint in that particular size. Got the bloke to check the computer and I was right and they did sell it to me. Good I thought I was going crazy, the young lad wasn't so full of himself after that but I think he saw the funny side. I'd recommend it if your in a hurry. They do some good deals on tools so have a look around. Steer clear of the burger van in the carpark though. Since the regular guy left it's not the same, we got charged nearly £10 for 2 burgers that weren't nice at all and never went back. Bring back Dave and the mushroom, chilli and tomatoes!!

I've been shopping at this place for a few years and recently the place seems to be going to the dogs! Kent Blaxhill just about scrapes with 3 stars because the lady in the paint area was very helpful and I found the staff on that side of the shop to be far more welcoming and knowledgable! however my experience in the timber and building shop left a lot to be desired! the tall blonde girl behind the counter (she didnt have a nametag on) struck me as being quite clueless, she was making what I thought to be innappriopriate comments to other customers that made me uncomfortable. i had to wait while she waited for another member of staff to free up give her assistance with figuring out the amount of timber I needed, something I should think would be a basic skill in that part of the shop. when I asked why she didn't know how to work it out she got very sarcastic and snarky!!! if I didn't need the timber urgently I would have walked out at that point. I was quite relieved when she suddenly declared that it's time for her to "Go and get her little one" and walked off, leaving me to finish my transction with a more competent member of staff. finally, I visited on another occasion and was served by a young blonde lad with a "Harry" nametag in the landscape department who probably could have been related to the girl I mentioned earlier! I had to physically step in front of him to get his attention as he was clearly ignoring me and when I asked him about some fencing he just gave me a blank look and said "I dunno mate". I opted to get my fencing from another shop that day! I sincerely hope Kent Blaxhill have a close look at their staff and get rid of the people who clearly don't fit in ro give a damn about there job or are simply incompetent!

Went to KBs to get some equipment and found the staff to very helpful and was impressed at the wide range of products and services that are available to customers. If you are a DIY enthusiast then it is a good place to look but they are more a builders merchant than a store like B&Q so you might not find everything that you are after but, would recommend having a look anyway

I visited the Kent Blaxill showrooms in Colchester to look at the kitchens this week. I was impressed with the variety of kitchens available and the helpfulness of the staff.
