J. P.I wanted a certain air line fitting and regulator, kept getting told to get the smaller regulator without them knowing how much I use my compressor. Eventually he sold me the bigger one with thr adaptors I needed, very odd experience

J. M.I needed a staple gun for my upholstery projects and internet searches showed that Machine Mart was one of the few places that I could get a decent one. The staff greeted me as I came in and asked if they could help. They showed me several different options and were able to answer all my questions and offered staples and nails to go with my choice. Couldn't fault the service and all Covid compliant.

J. M.I had a lot of fun last time I went here. I wanted a site transformer and a few other items. The staff welcomed me and asked if they could help - immediately pointing me at the slightly used and heavily discounted transformer. We then went through the other items and examined specs and the like. I felt valued as a customer and god a bargain to boot!
R. P.Fantastic range of products, and lots of it in stock. Some of the products can be of poor quality (ie cheap Chinese .....), you get what you pay for! Prices can be competitive; cheaper than Screwfix and Toolstaion, like 15% cheaper. The staff in the Colchester branch were freindly & super helpful; they also provided exemplary customer service.
W. F.Loads of tools here, I'm surprised they are still open! Good for stuff you can't get anywhere else! They have the weird and wonderful tools that any tradesman and handyman would ever need. Great! Check them out!
R. N.Needed a compressor and a few tools staff very helpful listened to what I needed and advised as necessary. Only thing I would say if you don't know the area well parking could be an issue as think the car park is at rear but not sure which side road to take. but I managed to park on main road out the front.
O.Nice place for men, just don't let them in by their own. Lots of good quality goods. They stock most of the products. The staff is very helpful, there is nothing they don't know. Very good experience overall.
M. T.Machine mart is essentially a toy shop for adults where you go there and wonder how you can own all these wonderful things....if you like tools that is. The staff are friendly and helpful and don't harass you as you browse around the store but do ensure you have assistance if you require it. Prices are reasonable on most things but check online to compare. For example the brake caliper windback kit in the store I bought online at our favourite internet auction site for £12, I think they sell it for around £30.
I have bought a LOT of tools from machinemart. Make sure you keep receipts forever for lifetime warranty stuff because unless you have the receipt they won't replace under warranty which in this day and age of tool warranty if pretty poor. I learnt this the hard way recently when a lifetime warranty screwdriver had a spline snap off...it won't cover you for tool abuse though of course!!
If you like tools, you'll easily loose and hour in here and not realise it! It's a shame they don't have a coffee machine and toilet lol lol.
