Reviews of Wickes
Having been a Trade Pro member for years they always look after you & go above & beyond to make sure they can help you with your projects & have always got plenty of offers which is brilliant because of the times we seem to be living in your always looking for a bargain. Also the staff are always friendly.
Thanks to Kerry and Sharon! Very helpful, and informative, taking the time to answer my question about buying and fitting a cistron for toilet.
Great customer service, very friendly and proffesional.
Thank you.
It was quick and easy to load up with a few bags of compost.
Staff are usually very helpful and the quality of most products are good. Staff will assist disabled customers with heavy items into their vehicle. Being a smaller depot their range is occasionally out of stock. Prefer Wickes to the other big DIY shed where the staff are less proactive.
It's good for general off the shelf DIY supplies and tools. Staff are, more often than not, friendly and helpful and the store is convenient and adequately stocked for most home repair goods.
Sadly I can't give more *'s as we had serious issues with a large item delivery order which left us with weeks of wasted time and unnecessary stress as we had already waited 2 weeks before being notified of a problem with the order and were being asked to wait a further 5 weeks for delivery which was unacceptable, so we ended up having to shop elsewhere for an alternative. Getting a refund was also a faff about, we returned to the shop as instructed, but once at the store we were told they couldn't refund us until the next day, in my opinion the whole farce was not only ridiculous but completely avoidable with better organisation and communication, of which wickes is severely lacking.
I would still shop there for small off the shelf items but I wouldn't trust them with large delivery orders ever again.
always have everything you need, cheap priced , staff are very friendly and chatty which makes your day better with that smile & laughter
Would be better if things were priced never any tags and don't believe the stock count on the website
Helpful staff neat and tidy place. Nice to shop at
I visited Wickes to purchase specific items and although I had to wait in line before entering, it didn't take too long. I selected the items I wanted, which were all in stock and was quickly able to join the queue to pay. The store was very well organised to help keep customers apart and it all looked clean and a safe shopping experience.
Not bad, easy to park and it's never quite as busy as b&q but I am not sure why because some of the stuff is priced really competitively. I don't know if they don't keep quite so much stock at the Hull branch because it's a smaller one or not, but it can sometimes be a little limited? Not sure but the staff are always really helpful when I get lost in the place.
Bizarrely always cars in the car park with flat tyres.
Ordered a garden shed great price. Delivery on time. The bad bit only one man delivering asked me to help lift the shed from the van & help carry it to my garden. Not great when you suffer from arthritis. Don't think I will be shopping there again. Not good service
Didn't have to queue long to get in. Sanitizer just inside. Cross over alleys blocked and arrows making it a one way system in place. Loads of stock too. Plenty of parking. Got all I needed. Sweet.
Store very quiet when I visited maybe due to local roadworks? Stock seems erratic probably suffering from shortages or logistics like everyone.
Im kind of like the shop and as usual went and got surprised as my sutuff was not in stock yet noticed fancy routing round in shop and people have this for nothing as everyone walks as they want.
Expect to wait to get in, but it doesn't take long and is part of the Corvid 19 protection they have set up to keep you safe, but if it's a hot day make sure you take a drink, the staff are going out of their way to be helpful and will answer any questions you may have, great store and staff
Very helpful staffs in Hull branch
Just want to say a huge thanks to Bradley at the Hull store ~ after going to the Doncaster store, then onto the Scunthorpe store to get a P shape bath panel with no luck we googled Hull branch. Bradley was extremely helpful over the phone and made sure we didn't have a wasted journey and kept one back for us to collect ~ thanks Bradley we appreciated it very much!
Had what I wanted...sand and a paving slab but they need to get the water outside the entrance and exit sorted.
Wickes had the exact length/cross-section of wood I was looking for slightly cheaper then B&Q, so good fun unexciting but useful bits.
They're open to normal customers with restrictions to numbers due to COVID 19.
Great in store design services. So good I've ordered my bathroom! Good range of building and DIY products at great prices.
Don't take any notice of the online stock levels, not updated till next day we were told. This has happened to use before. We wasted our time again waiting in the social distancing que to go in and told we had to join the long till que to leave even if not making a purchase.
The kitchen team were outstanding
Wickes in Leads road is very convenient. Ive noticed lately that they seem to have cut back on some items that used to be available instore. Last time I needed white cement they didnt have it and Ive never seen it in stock since also kingspan insulation board which I needed in smaller size for internal wall insulation wasnt there in November. I looks like you need to order more things online these days which delays the job. Having said this I always find the staff very helpful and its always easy to park. If they have what you need then its an ok place.
Just got sharp sand and an offer on tulips thanks
Great service, and well stocked with all I needed.
Not been there 4 a long time but seems to b struggling along didn't have what I wanted !!
Checked they had what I wanted online then found it in store without a problem. Reliable always
Excellent service, the young lady was knowledgeable and willing to help make things happen. Would use again.
Very helpful staff, sorted my query out for me which resulted in me purchasing some Oak doors
Wicked is Wicked, has what we required at a sensible price. Service though was good, and reasonably quick.
Bought some logs, when I got them home they were damp so no good to get a fire going, took them back and they exchanged them no problems.
Great service. staff are fantastic and quick to deal with any queries. i pre-ordered my items and picked up within 15 minutes.
Always good on price
This Wickes on Leads Rd is the grubbiest, dirtiest and most dated Wickes store I have ever visited but they beat B&Q on price 90% of the time so it's worth a visit.
Most grubby wicks store I have seen in a long time. Exterior looks dated, did have what was needed but desperately requires a refit.
Fair priced products and very helpful staff An extremely varied of building and gardening items suitable for both trade and diy enthusiasts They have really good offers on various products throughout the year
Marvellous shop 4 DIY got my door handle there that B&Q didn't stock can't be Wickes
Quick service, polite and helpful staff. Purchased online and collected instore.
It's only a small store so doesn't tend to stock everything. Popped in for some fence treatment bargain 241. Popped in again and the item was on the Internet but they didn't have it in store.
Excellent service and all the stock I needed staff very helpful
Very good so organised with social distancing and lay out some big supermarkets should learn from them (ie Asda kingswood) well done To all Involved
Ordered by click and collect excellent service the staff were friendly and very helpful
Always good quality and better than some other DIY stores
Had what I wanted (for a change!) Yet to fit part to toilet but seems the same as the one that is on there at the moment
Got all we wanted which we couldn't get at the other leading DIY store
The young man who served me was very pleasant and helpful.
Staff are always happy to help. Some good items at reasonable prices too.
Friendly safe visit good product range
Very safe to visit. Strict social distancing in place and easy to follow markings on aisle floor
For people who don't use card's it's a bit of a pain, I and a lot of other people just use cash.
Great store, well laid out and very helpful staff
Could be better limited stock often leaves you dissatisfied
Ordered on the internet however we browsed the store anyway as there are plenty of goods and ideas at reasonable prices.
Had to wait for a few minutes but staff really good and helpful
With the all extra work the staff have do they still went the extra mile to help me today so a very big thank you.
Helpful staff and ordering by click and collect is a great time saver.

House reno has meant lots of visits! Good stock and friendly staff
Great prices and really good service :)
Excellent value for money. The layout leaves a lot to be desired when looking for small items.
Wickes is a bit old fashioned these days. It leans towards the builder rather than the diy.
It's ok but it's got a limited stock and the staff although helpful seemed a bit clueless.
They have some great coronavirus plans in place
They only take card payments and have got very expensive
Always get what I need from Wickes. I always like to check the stock online before going to the store.
Good shop, massive veriety, bit pricey though.
Husband loves going to wickes for the odd things that he needs good prices too
Seems to be low on a few of the basic building stocks at the moment.
