Reviews of B&Q Leicester

It's always pretty good here. The floors are clean and if you can find a staff member who's not talking, they will help you out by pointing to where you need to go. It would be a 5 star if their customer service staff walked and showed you what you asked for or if they didn't stand around gossiping but hey ho.

The man from the Trade Point has none knowledge about his products. I asked him few questions and for each one he has to gave by radio, asking his colleagues. I made an order to be delivered and one of the items was multipurpose filler... In store was at bag of 1kg and 5 kg. I needed 10kg so I wanted 2 bags of 5kg. He gave me 10 bags of 1kg, which was more expensive🤦♀️

Fairly easy place to navigate around. I always find it easier to look on their website first for what you want as it tells you exactly what aisle to find it in. I went late morning and it wasn't very busy then and no queue at the tills.
D. G.
This store has just about everything you need if your a fan of D.I.Y.
However, although the aisles are well signed I find that looking for small items very tedious. It seems that no matter what room you are decorating, if you want a small item then good luck to you.
Also, a bit on the pricey side.

I collected over 300kg of Sharp Sand recently from B&Q Leicester, as always, the service was fantastic in every respect. I particularly wish to extend my thanks to Ian for not only loading my sand onto a pallet, but also using a pallet truck to transport the sand to my car and assist with loading; Ian does himself and B&Q tremendous credit: Thank you Ian.

They keep brand products and quite responsibly priced very good customer service. Paint, bathroom, plumbing... all under one roof at competitive prices. What more can you ask for. Very good for a local store, the selection of paints is excellent, and staff are always very helpful. They keep brand products and quite responsibly priced very good customer service and friendly staff. Team Always gave great advice and guided me on everything I needed.

As we had our patio done and now we coming into summer, my husband and I visited B&Q store to check out their BBQ range . And one we like had a misleading on the price . To get a member of staff to help out is a nightmare. We walked out .
G. B.
A rock in a hard place, this B&Q rarely lets me down, lots of stock, knowledgeable staff, easy parking, and now a new self service facility, what more could you want from a hardware store?
A. s.
Has everything you would expect from B&Q. The prices have gone up but so has everywhere! Easy enough to locate what I needed but I find the shared carpark outside a nightmare in the van

If you are into building decor or DIYs you will be excited like a child in a candy shop when you enter here. They have most things you will need for finishes to your building or for maintenance. They have light fittings, doors, plumbing and bathroom fittings, paints and many more.
The equally have a large range of DIY tools... drills; cutters, saw and everything.
Downside is that staff are not very helpful; again their prices are a bit steep and by the way their electrical lights are LED and mostly screw bulbs.
For small tools like pliers, spanners, screwdrivers etc; try Home Bargains next Door the prize difference will wow you.
K.
Everything you could need for house improvement. I love the garden section. Not to expensive either.
T. H.
I’m glad to say b&q have a large range of peat free compost yesterday. I couldn’t lift the bags of manure and compost but a Lovely member of staff named Jermaine offered to help lift 6 bags and load them into the car. What a polite, helpful guy!
Jarmaine your an asset to b&q. ⭐️

You will get everything to renovate your house. You can also hire machines like vacum to wash a carpet. The only thing i didn't like - all the paint cans are 2.5l or more - i just needed 1l witch is not available
A. C.
This place is huge! The aisles are so tall and wide. There's so much in there (apart from the curver baskets I wanted) but was busy with builders and tradespeople. Friendly staff. Car parking outside
R. C. C.
I love going to this shop ,I love to look at the garden plants and house plants ,they have some lovely light shades and lamps lots of different wallpapers ,paint ,paint brushes and rollers ,curtains and curtain poles to fit them up with ,carpets ,fires,,you cant just pass the shop .
C. W.
Good stock variety and prices. The staff seemed knowledgeable and helpful although a couple more open checkouts would have been useful when I visited.
S. D.
Not many staff on floor other than few chatting to one another.
But pleasant atmosphere.
Very friendly and helpful Raj on saw.

It's a good store you can get everything you need to help you with projects and if you can't find what you are looking for you can always ask a member of staff for help and everything you need is on the shelves and when you pay for the things all the staff at the checkout are very friendly and polite and helpful

Well stocked store, friendly gent advised me where I could find my purchases.
Good selection of indoor and outdoor plants.
Picked up a "Free" piece of wood by making a donation to local community appeal.
No bare shelves here!
Friendly checkout gent too.
What a lovely store.

Stock levels still poor but service good. Friendly staff. Tend only to use for sheet materials, hardware over priced.

Good range of kitchens, shame they don't have more space to display more in room sets. One good idea is a plaque in one room set that states price to buy kitchen and also price to install which I thought was very good as you don't have to make an appointment and measure etc to get an idea of price. Good 0% offer also and good appointment availability, £50 charge for visit to confirm measurements but this is refunded if you order, other companies DO do this for free tho.
R. B.
Few items seem to be in short supply

A. M.
Got help to find what I wanted, good. Garden centre plants nothing special.
G. S.
Not a bad place to go for DIY stuff, but can be a bit expensive but there's plenty of choice
C. N.
Great experience. Lots of options and good price. Highly recommended
H. S.
Always had a great experience shopping here. They have the facilities to cut timber to your desired dimensions which is always handy especially when travelling in a passenger vehicle. This is the larger B&Q Store which stock a wider range of products in comparison to smaller stores like the Wigston branch. Keep up the great work guys!
P.
Great place to visit, good knowledge from all staff, and a big thanks to Chris, as he spent time explaining things simply that i could follow and understand. He was very helpful and helped me with some things as I've a day landlord wouldn't let me change some stuff and even though he was unsure he told me straight without seeing what was what he only could advise what he knows.
Thanks guys never been to aB&Q before as always thought be out of my price range and help i need for basic things thanks
J. E.
Great store for all your DIY needs
S. C.
Good range of products nicely spaced out, not claustrophobic like some home stores. Didn't interact with any staff.
m. n.
Awesome place for all trade and DIY needs ....
G. L.
Has everything as it's a large store and the service was fast but drops a star as there was angry customer at the tills shouting and swearing at everyone and they didn't remove him.
K. K.
Probably the best B&Q store in Leicester. Joseph went above and beyond to help us chose laminate floor. He had a lot of knowledge on items in store.
R. K.
Surely a nice experience. Visited this B&Q for a kitchen sink mixer tap and splash back tiles. Guided to the right spot by Michael and Sid. A lady helped me to get the things right. Wide variety of goods and DIY materials to pick and choose from a single place. Highly recommend this.
P. H. (.
We getting our bedroom redecorated and went to find the right colour. Person in the department was very helpful and gave us some good pointers which we took into account when picking the colours. I was busting for pee, even though toilets was locked and staff have to take you, someone was happy to drop what was they doing and let me into toilet. It's the little things that matters when you visit somewhere. Keep the good work.
H. M.
Staff were really helpful and everything we came to get was available.
R. M.
I come here more often now for gardening supplies. The staff are really helpful to be honest and have good product knowledge. Queues were long though so be prepared. Also don't go alone if you can't lift compost bags, very heavy
M. J.
Went to get crown paint only to find out they don't stock it.
j. v.
Was helped by ketan this weekend,he was very informative and found me items I needed
J. H.
I was able to go straight to my purchase having asked on the way in where the product would be situated
A. A.
After a previous hopeless and unhelpful assistant I was reluctant to go back to B&Q. However I did today and what a difference good helpful staff make to a shopping experience. Today's stars were Abbie and Daniel, brilliant young people, credit to the company
S. W.
Got quite a good selection of the things I needed
N. B.
Easy to get around, plenty of signs to locate specifics, staff most helpful, always.
J. B.
Visited to purchase bathroom furniture and delt with a lady in the bathroom department I think she is a store manager, was incredibly helpful knew the products inside and out. She is absolutely bonkers but we loved her!
R. B.
Mandeep on the click and collect was brilliant. She coped not only with my multiple orders but also the fact that I had made a mistake on one of them. My credit was processed by the time I had got back home.
K. S.
A large selection of plants, picked up some lovely seeds. Stock choice is on point. The store layout is well thought out

Always grab stuff here, But,,, Never seem to stock up on stone edging. Been numerous times, keep saying so out. Really????
Update,
Went up today, and items we wanted previously that was empty on shelving for 3 weeks.
Now full up. 👍
So I guess patience is a virtue.
However Imagine the blame would be now out of EU, delivery issues.
Did end up spending £180
So all good now.
J. L.
I like this place. It's easy to find stuff, staff are always helpful. I'm in and out with whatever I need in a blink of an eye.
I've always had a very positive experience at B&Q. I'm 52 and been shopping in their stores since I was a boy. Never once have I heard a staff member swearing or being disrespectful (Not like Adsa staff, I'm gobsmacked at how their staff behave sometimes, and I've stopped shopping there, because the staff act like an unruly bunch of chavs).
Shopping at B&Q has always been a pleasure. Even when I've had to return something for one reason or another, the entire experience has always been simple and friendly.
Well done B&Q
S. C.
B&Q are my go to diy and rumour has it that we will have one in Newark soon. So excited😃
C. C.
Large selection of stock and click and collect is so easy to use
M. C.
My favourite place to buy all my DIY stuff
K. K.
DIY tools or house renovations best place to visits
S. E.
Helpful staff and able to click and collect without any difficulty
S. G.
Friendly and helpful staff at the thurmaston B&Q , in the Asda store
N. T.
Going very early was a good idea. Mostly trades people in there, collecting what they need and leaving. So no crowds. Staff were helpful and friendly. Prices are high for the quality. Far too noisy on the tannoy system - I don't need a disco at 7a.m.
M. D.
Usually has what you want, it is further for me than my local at Melton Mowbray but worth it. I always check online to see if its in stock before I waste diesel.
r. b.
Ash was very helpful ,very good DIY store
O. O.
It was such an amazing customer service experience at this branch, especially with a lady called Helen who was at the paint desk unit. God bless her massively, she's a brilliant customers service officer.
S. I.
Good stocks of gardening materials and plants. Plants were competitively priced. We have always had success with B&Q plants. Variety of perennials not great but loads of evergreens and bedding plants
I. F.
Good...little bit expensive, but I like the program and because I can find most of the stuff I need, and I don't need to look at 7 stores to buy 3 items. That's awesome. I would like some more employees that know how to answer my questions about the products. But overall pretty happy with this.
N. B.
Still one the best place to go for DIY products.
D. L.
I was well impressed by the service I received, a lovely lady called Rekha she was so helpful nothing to was to much trouble for her.The plan she did for me was spot on.such a polite lady
Explained everything, made suggestions. I would recommend her to anyone, 2 other members of staff also suggested things when she asked. What a brilliant team you have. Thankyou for everything.
D. L.
Staff friendly and helpful well stocked food available in car park
H. D.
As I am not an handyman or a diy expert my purchases are mainly garden tools/furniture or general electrical items. Quality products at fair prices.
P. H.
I had a very good experience when buying a large mirror a few days ago at B&Q Leicester. Andy was very helpful in offering to carry the mirror to my car and even putting my back seats down ready to put the mirror in.Thank you.
J. P.
Excellent place for DIY and garden needs. Helpful friendly staff
H. S.
Great advice on wooden flooring. Thank you.
R. M.
It's a big b&q Warehouse with loads available but can be hard to find what u want. And not all parts for DIY are available. When u need staff for help they are not available which is frustrating. They need to recruit more staff for a big store like that.
A. A.
Plenty of parking. Large store with all the usual departments. This time round, the plumbing section wasn't very well stocked though. Only a couple of tills open at a time making paying for stuff rather slow. No self service available.
M. L.
Big store. can find everything you need at decent prices
J. S.
Great selection of outdoor plants and impressed by growing solutions
N. D.
Today at B&Q Devonshire road, Leicester, we were given an amazing service by Joseph, who went all along my husband to help him with measurements and then to select the right tools and he even happily guided my husband to register himself.

Good range of everything..getting a little too expensive on the prices.

Always enjoy going to b and q but unfortunately they dint have what I went for so was bit disappointed.
D. G.
Good store, friendly and helpful staff.
P. A.
Very polite staff and express service
C. W.
I found the store very well stocked and a few of the staff not very keen to help you would rather stand talking to each other.
M. B.
Very busy got what we needed and out in 30min job done.
C. M.
For all your home and Garden items including ornaments fixtures is exclusively in B&Q it's so nice the designs for their wall papers are beautiful got myself some few for a change.
D. O.
The store to was busy . I was walking around looking for some shelfs couldn't find them . I saw a member of staff asked about the shelfs he was busy but polite and showed me where the shelfs were thanked him for his help then went to the checkout .
J. F.
I needed to return an item and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Everything is clearly marked and easy to find and we didn't have to wait very long to be served.
R. H.
I always find the staff here to be extremely helpful, a huge thanks to the man on the paint isle (didn't get his name unfortunately) who helped me when I couldn't find my favourite 'Antique White' paint. After months thinking it had been discontinued, on my recent visit I decided to ask about it. He informed me it had been rebranded and had a new name. Made my day 😁
C. V.
I like this place products wise, but expensive, but you need some more staff knowledge about products and staff that are WILLING to work as I do not feel welcome and comfy. Difficult to find staff, if found they just point from a distance to tell you the where to go but NOT specific.
Had 2 times that I asked staff and the said, sorry I'm going for a coffee break now look for someone else 😱☹
They do NOT go the extra mile. The till staff are great and helpful.
S. P.
Always good to pop to the local b n q
S. C.
Good and big store. Nice prices. There is a problem : you never find somebody to help you. It takes ages to find someone and at the end, 50% chanses that staff can answer your questions about the item you're interested to buy.
G. R. U.
What more can you ask for. Very good for a local store, the selection of paints is excellent, and staff are always very helpful. They keep brand products everything I needed.
and quite responsibly priced very good customer service and friendly staff
F. C.
Great! Other than we stood in the queue to collect an item that we had purchased online via click and collect. Only to be told we had to go back out of the building to a shutter door outside. No big deal as the rain had stopped. Maybe there was a sign, but we didn't see one.
F. B.
Few things where out but the price was in my budget
C. W.
I found the store very well stocked and a few of the staff not very keen to help you would rather stand talking to each other.
M. H.
Its a tough one. Some staff are excellent, the selection of stuff is ok. Some staff really need to go on a customer service course. Ive been to better BnQs but its better than the other local one in Wigston
S. W.
Click and collect used, nice easy service. Though they did forget to give me my workbench so had to go back..
S. C.
Clean well set out store, friendly helpful staff.
W.
Popped in this morning 14/02/21 there was a que. We all can see that the aisles were empty but weren't allowed in. Staff standing around doing nothing. Ques at the checkout no staff to delegate customers 😒 to counters. There were few people not wearing face mask. Security and staff should be enforcing the law to customers to wear there mask. B&Q get your act together and do your job.
S. M.
Of u r a DIY junkie then this place is for you to be fine.
s. p.
Bigger than expected
Loads of great products
M. C.
Not great if I'm honest! There playing at being covid19 friendly but you are almost forced to hand sanitize by someone at the entrance. This is a choice! Also they have it in the foyer which we used and as you walk in a member of staff tells you to use the sanitizer. And gave us a look like sure you did.
And the staff are standing in groups chatting and when we asked for help they pointed us in the right direction instead of taking us there and making sure that we found what we needed.
They are lucky that there's not massive competition.
A. B.
Fab choices and lovely staff 👌
W. M.
Was served by a young lady called mollie today, she was really helpful & polite.. even helped me with packing my bags! Would definitely give her 5 stars.
D. E.
Proffesional assistance. Good quality. What we want more.
R. W.
Got everything we needed to redo the back garden, went a couple of times and served both days by Kylie. What a wonderful personality she has, made us feel valued and also made us laugh 😃😃😃

Ideal Place for DIY and proffesional needs .
D. H.
Was ok but the wood section could be sorted I was looking for 6mm x 46mm x 2400mm it was a job to find but other than that staff were friendly and helpful
T. R.
I'm sure everyone knows what B & Q is like, this is no different although I went looking for a new bath & bathroom sink/basin but was disappointed that there wasn't a lot there, perhaps a flip catalog with different styles in, I only found a couple of baths, mind you loads of shower cubicles. Just a touch disappointed this visit.
G. J.
Usually lacks things you see on their website but its the biggest diy shop in Leicester and 99% of times you will find what you are looking for
a. a.
You find everything you need in this store. The is the warehouse just for building materials on one side and everything else on the other which helps space the crowd. I also like when there are long queues, all staff fill up the checkout lanes to ensure customers are served promptly.
C. B.
Store nice and clean, staff very helpful as usual. Stock in certain Isles seem well down. Good range of plants etc outside.
K. L.
My review isn't regarding the actual shop, but a member of there staff. I think the guys name was Jermaine. I had ventured out today for the first time since my baby was born, with baby and toddler. Its pretty hard and even harder when you have a toddler in the trolly seat and a car seat filling the trolly! Couldn't fit anything id come for inside the trolly. Jermaine not only went and got me another trolly, just came with me while I chose some plants and then helped me load the car. If it wasn't for Jermane I'd of gone home with a very disappointed 2.5yr old as he wanted to do some planting and gardening. There are not many people about like this anymore, especially within the younger generation like Jermane was. Well done B & Q for hiring him!
P. S.
It was a good experience and staff was excellent 👌
M. H.
If your new to gardening,it's where u can start

Great variety, reasonable prices, opening hours brilliant, amazing staff.
R. L.
Had to return an item as I had trouble with the assembly of the item. Probably my own fault. They refunded my money without hesitation. Thank you B & Q.
K. R.
Staff always try their best and its much better than the other diy shops, more in stock
s. m.
We were looking for paints to decorate our home but we're really confused on deciding which shades to go for. We were served by a young lady name Lou at the valspar paint help desk who was absolutely fantastic, friendly and extremely helpful. She made our decision making much Easier. Excellent customer service!
A.
Big variety, good quality products, better prices
J. L.
I'm pregnant and felt faint and dizzy from standing in the queue so long (I didn't realise pregnant women don't need to). I sat down and my husband ran off to find water, the security guard helped him and gave him a free bottle after the vending machine wasn't working. Thank you for looking after me, we really appreciate it.
A. H.
You can buy all the things you wish your wife didn't know about,to brighten up your home and make it just how she wants it,because all blokes know it means work, work, work for us lol,so be warned guys lol.
R. L.
If you can't find what you want here I would be surprised.
C. P.
I was disappointed. I expected good Covid-safe precautions, but they seem to be slow to let the next group in, when we can see lots leaving. Also they aren't interested in any customer interaction... You can't get imitation grass cut to size because "it's against our Covid policy"! How is looking at a piece of paper with measurements on it of any danger whatsoever. Then I saw the same 2 employees, one pulling a pallet truck between the aisles with the other riding on it draped over all the boxes to hold them on. But that is safe right? Totally ridiculous. Either too lazy to care, or their H&S policy needs revisiting.
K. B.
Visited on a Saturday. The shop was reasonably busy. Very dark and drab inside but depth of range and prices were good. Acknowledged by a member of staff in the bathroom area. We selected our items and went to pay. The checkouts were very busy but within moments more tills were opened and so served quite quickly. The physical area around the checkouts was too small to handle the large items going through and caused congestion. It was also very dirty and in need of a rethink and refresh around this area. It was more like a functional visit rather than a shopping experience.
B. B.
Not busy no queues at 10.30 on a Wednesday morning paint mixing desk very helpful.
C. T.
Huge selection of everything may need for small or large diy projects, check prices before you go though, not always the cheapest. I bought a stanley tool box which was cheaper here than on line, by over 8 pounds! Bargains can be found here.
There is a burger van outside, which I fully recommend too, excellent burgers, ☆☆☆☆☆
P. H.
Staff are not great with communication. There was only one guy there, that had not been working there long (in home decor) , he was really helpful and friendly. It's seems old staff members don't care about customer service.
Nice choice of wall paper though. Will go back again
D. G.
Good store, friendly and helpful staff.
A. D.
The store itself was fine and the guy on the paint counter was excellent. Getting out of the car park took over thirty minutes though which was a right pain.
I. P.
This is not a traditional hardware store. It has a range of goods and materials as well as hardware. This business uses the "showroom" model. This can be somewhat confused offering as they attempt to group items for specific jobs together.
S. W.
First visit since the Covid crisis. Arrived at 8:30am on a Sat. There were queuing lanes laid out in the car park, but no queues. In the store there are markings every 2 metres to make you aware to socially distance.
At the checkout you push your trolley in an step back. The cashier then steps out and scans the items. It is contact payment only.
H. C.
B&Q Devonshire Road, Leicester, very efficient, lady checked my details then brought our fence panels straight out. Contacting them was also great as I'd had trouble ordering online. Thanks B&Q!
K. C.
Good place, everything you need
B. L. B.
It's okay a standard hardware store.. I went for gardening fork and left without one because they was all poor quality or over priced.
S. N.
What's the point of chain megastores if they regularly have stock issues! Today I wanted a 3m length of 15mm plastic pipe but they were out of stock with only 2m lengths. Generally better choice and prices than Homebase though
b. D.
I went for a gate and fencing. Had a good choice and staff were very helpful. Only negative they are a bit more expensive than some other places.
R. W.
Took home an opened box, on the word of the staff that everything was in it, got it home and parts were missing. Took it back and the security guard was arguing with me that it was in there. I even shown them photos. Got my money back though. Wasted 2 hours. Other stores can't b fine their stock either waste of time
A. I.
The staff are very friendly and helpful. The car parking is spacious. And there are now more shops set up on-site. I found the undercoat paint that I was looking for at a good price. But the top-coat paint that I wanted was a little expensive.
g. J.
Large range of stock of many varieties
A. M.
Seem to spend a good portion of my time wandering the isles getting the next tool or part for the DIY mission at home. Staff are generally helpful. Think they could look at presentation in some areas, but it’s a DIY store so I don’t expect too much. I did have an issue with the quality of a large order which this store did help with (wasn’t dealt with in the best way but it did get resolved)
M. L.
Can never find staff to help. Aisles laid out easily enough. Till staff never seem very happy, maybe not the best place to work?
T. C.
B&Q have a good range of things
M. G.
very large and well stocked dsl gardening to home from do it yourself to professional. I buy everything there.
L. C. (.
I love the selection of plants on offer always well watered and healthy, store numbers limited during Covid I will happily shop here
D. A.
Everything you need for DIY under one roof, possibly slightly more expensive than shopping around different dedicated businesses such as a wood yard for your wood and an iron mongers for hinges and bolts but certainly worth paying the slight premium for the fact you can get everything in one store and get on with the job!
P. K.
Nicely set out store. Plenty of items. Nice to be able to pay cash for your goods.
H.
Went here and great service and excellent staff was served by a man called Harry who was extremely helpful and full of knowledge and made My visit extremely easy
J. L.
The new light fittings on display are great didnt go there for them but ended up buying 3 new ceiling lights and the wooden flooring we went for.
R. H.
Never had any problem whilst visiting the store, you only need ask and help is quickly forthcoming.
Most staff are very friendly and approachable.
S. S.
Needed some plywood for a DIY project which was cut to size in store to my measurements, perfect.
K. W.
Brilliant place for all DIY needs, tools, equipment etc and very knowledgeable staff who can really recommend good quality products for whatever your requirements are.
J. L.
The right size for a B&Q. Staff really helpful. Never been in a B&Q so tidy, really amazed. I liked the umbrellas in the garden centre to be used by customer in rainy days, great ideas... don't let the rain to stop my parade, lol
P. A.
Very polite staff and express service
A. P.
It's really great. I mean, you'll find almost all the DIY materials here. The warehouse is really huge. So, you'll probably need to ask for assistance whenever you need to look for something here.
J. B.
Pricey but all you need for DIY, tools or gardening
J. R.
Normally have what we need, click and collect are not too bad though occasionally they always find our goods due to lack of knowledge, however this has not put us off
A. 4.
Service at click & collect is not up to standard, big store so it's hard to pull trolley with full of heavy products to the till from all the way from back to the front.
M. M.
Well organised - all what you need for house works - but more expensive than other warehouse stores
R. S.
It's fine, just a b n q
a. s.
Large diy store. Staff vary in usefulness, but generally OK. I would recommend you use click and collect to ensure you can get the item you want
P. D.
Got first class service there today.
P. H.
Decent building stuff. Had waste pipe fittings I wanted, not big perspex sheets though.
A. P.
Great course, nicely varied holes, greens were in excellent condition really fast and smooth rolling despite how busy the course is. Green keepers are doing a fantastic job!
G. W.
Cant 5* due to time I waited to get into store. It's a big store with high ceilings and a sanitizing point on entrance. Helpful staff and got most of what I wanted.
A. S.
Parking - plenty of spaces
Close to shops such as Smyths, a large discount goods shop and B&M.
Prices vary widely, sometimes you can get hold of some great deals but mostly prices feel vastly inflated so we tend to use places such as toolstation.
The staff seem friendly and always busy stocking shelves.
When we have gone to buy something specific it is always in stock.
The shop does feel untidy and is in need of a good clean.
M. A.
Nice friendly staff specially trade Point check out nice to visit every time also they were open in lock down we do appreciate thanks based on personal experience
O. B.
We cut a shelf for our closet. They were very helpful.
M. M.
BnQ is conveniently situated. Everyone from around Leicester and the Leicestershire area can easily come and shop around for their DIY requirements. I have been coming to this shop for the last 18 years and I usually get what I want. The staff's professional, helpfulness, courtesy when asking for help never disappoints.
P. T.
Great found everything I wanted, staff were brilliant. Checking out was a lot easier with one queue and all tills open.
S. F. v. M.
Good Store to buy plants in Spring Time it's just a Pity that they haven't updated the Store like they have in most Cities making the area more Modern as well as attractive! Only Problem I have with B&Q is there pricing!! They are always more Expensive than other Stores and Local Garden Centers!! But the Staff are very Good and always try and help you the best they can!! Always Happy, Smiling and speak to you as you are an Individual and don't just sound like Computers!! Because of that I have Given this Store a 4 Star Rating!!!
a. j.
Still one of the best places to shop for home improvement.excellent.cant go wrong.got every thing from there in two goes
A. P.
Big store almost everything diy related, hard to find staff for info or directions for items to look for, prices are ok but cheaper elsewhere if you search.
E.
Wide variety of products. Nice and spacious. The parking isn't the best
T. W.
Good for all DIY needs. 4 stars due to the parking situation having to share with other outlets. Can be a nightmare, not B&Q's fault though.
J. H.
Friendly staff. If you can chase them down.
S. C.
Great place but no one able to cut a skirting board so I could get it in my little car.
G. C.
Nice store which carries all the B&Q products, the only downside to this store is that it doesn't take contactless so taking your actual card is required or you have to order via online and then go straight to the click and collect desk which can be extremely time-consuming at certain periods.
p. h.
Good choice of products 👌
K. W.
Had to queque to get into the store. This was managed really well taking about 15mins. Once in got everything required. Checkout was slick.
Well done B and Q
M. W.
Big car park and they had what I needed,
It's handy being able to check stock online before going ....
S. M.
Staff are useless and that's putting it kindly. You may as well just stick to click and collect, although don't expect the staff to be able to get stock from another store for you as they can't even do that. Oh and don't believe their stock checker in store as apparently these are wrong quite often.
7. B.
Kept the Dogs company in the car,
Whilst my Wife got us a new shower,
Ours blew up this morning💥
New one fitted by us in couple of hours no problem 😁
J. P.
Went early in the morning plenty of spaces not busy at all still plenty of spaces not too busy
C. K.
Very helpful staff couldn't get coping saw apparently the e stopped selling them even though web site said they did but staff recommended selco on Parker drive which was round corner from b and q thanks we got one there
S. K.
Store staff soon helped us to find what we was looking for. A large store but well layed out.
J. P.
I asked a staff for some help she directed me to where I wanted to go. But I could not find the stuff I was looking for so I asked someone else and didn't get anywhere. Then I went to colour counter and the lady put a message out on the tanoy, I waited 10 min no one came so I went back and she put another message ,waited another 10 mins still no one came. Finally I went back and told the same lady ,looks like no one wants to help me, kindly she helped me in the end.
R. L.
Staff are so helpful here. They always go the extra mile in giving advice on any diy issue u have. Most of the time there's a staff member waiting at the door that ask if u need any help finding what u came in for which I love cause I normally spend 20 mins looking around for what i need which in that time i could of been tempted to buy something else which tells me B&Q are all about customer service 😉
J. B.
It's a B&Q, you know the score. Car park is shared with a couple of other retailers and can get very, very busy at times.
R. W.
We found a better deal than we went in for. Compost! We usually find good deals in B & Q. It is value for money always.
R. A. H.
Good value and selection of products
A. S.
Great place to shop and get everything you need for DIY, you can also get some inspiration if your stuck for ideas
T. A.
House renovation material and many more items to beautify also has bath rm and kitchen display for interior designer good place to buy
K. B. (. o. P. G.
Good Store, but avoid busy times.
Great range and good helpful staff.
M. W.
Reasonably laid out well stocked but they could make sure more staff are on the tills for check out.
L. W.
Nice visit to B&Q, and managed to get most of the bits I needed. Accessible in my wheelchair and helpful staff where required.
D. M.
It's annoying to park when it's busy. They charge so much for mix it yourself paint, gold leaf is cheaper. Then there's the zombie staff. The place is a mess. You can't get down the aisles because shelves are being filled or moved. Fill the store at night so it's ready for the customer the following day.. Store looks like its closing down.. Perhaps it should.
M. A.
Has everything I need to complete most projects at the right price. I use B&Q all the time and find it the best store in Leicester, Highly recommended.
S. 1.
Went in & asked for some hardcore. Assistant said, "Sorry sir, we don't sell magazines"...Excellent response! - Top marks! - I won't leave the assistant's name, because sadly, in this day & age, good humour is not allowed by employees & he/she would most likely be disciplined for making that comment. What a bloody sad world we live in.
b. r.
Huge store with alm your DIY needs... lots of varieties to choose from... not to forget very helpful staff 👍
S. W.
Still a large store, still a large majority of home branded goods, obvious gaps show lack of ordering/planning, same everywhere though, lived off stocks for 12 months
R. B.
Great selection of DIY tools and home improvements and they even have a trade counter for businesses. Was severed very quickly as well l.
I. W.
Had to visit the store because their order and home delivery software failed. B and Q Helpline were polite but could not assist hence the enforced visit into the city.
n. s.
Hi,
I would like to say that Caitlyn was so fabulous today amd was so eager to help us! It was due to her patience we got the things we needed and completed our targets!
Thanks Caitlyn
K. R.
Straight in every one with masks on so pleasent to browse and shop in staff very friendly and available to talk to regarding certain items. A very good morning
j. m.
It is what it is B&Q, great for DIY supplies, but expect long ques at the checkout.
A. “. K.
My parents wanted to get some stuff to repaint their downstairs, but the diamond club offering for pensioners has been gutted. It was the only thing that made the place good value. Disappointing.
T.
Didn't have what I wanted.
H. L. (.
Great choice of diy goods from kitchens, bathrooms, flooring, paints, doors fixings to gardening and much more! Always like going here and usually end up buying more than what I went in for.
k. o. x.
Got all diy needs
P. G.
Visted store, needed large tarpaulin sheets 10m x 8m. Asked Sid where the sheets were he took me to end of isle n pointed out isle 22 said on LHS. Only small sizes, bit desperate since it was 19.00 hours.Due to storm blowing over tree smashing two sides of my garden fence. People could walk in to property. Took empty box back to Sid who came with me saw some on higher stock shelves. Got a large safety ladder, he pushed it down two ilse. Got two packs. An absolute Star got me sorted also reminded of getting some bungi cords to anchor the tarpaulin. Best customer service I've experienced normally some of the younger staff don't have scooby when you ask for help. Sid your a credit to B n Q and thank you again for your help and advice. Now my garden is secure n I've privacy. God bless you Sid.
t. p.
Very good hand sanitizer usage, friendly staff , not enough tills open only 2 which clogs up public , not wise with covid19 to keep public standing in one s9ace
a. s.
I like to the store very good service and friendly staff well look after by staff we can buy garden stuff paint baths and kitchen aswell
H. K. (.
More choices but some items are expensive
S. B.
Got everything you need at reasonable price & helpful staff
E. d. C.
Very organised by departments.
Easy to practise social distance.
Kind staff
C. G. (.
You can find all your DIY items all under one roof. I do find that some of the prices for items can be on the pricer side but if buying in bulk it does work out cheaper. I like it for it's out of town location and with Smyths toy shop and Home Bargins there to. You can get other bit too. It can get quite busy on a Saturday.
K. K.
Really good in terms of following covid safety guidance. Have sanitiser s at the door. Staff is always around to help you find anything you you looking for.
P. F.
Nice place to shop if you can find a member of staff they are always helpful
L. v.
Great selection of DIY products and plants
S. S.
Rarely go here any more. More of a homewares shop than a DIY store. A lot of the hardware is overpriced. Staff are sometimes grumpy if you can find one! But they have a good range of stuff which you can take a close look at.
L. W.
The store was well stocked. Staff were very helpful. I got what I was looking for. All covid 19 steps where in place
A. P.
Big stores, hard to find items to look for and the staff are never around to help or come and ask you if you need help, prices are still steep compared to other diy traders which I won't name.
A. V. H.
Great place for DIY projects, has all gou need at great prices. Large selection of everything, staff also very helpful and knowledgeable.
A. S.
Has everything you need for DIY purposes but the queues are horrendous, staff are slow on the tills and some staff are unaware where certain items are or what isle they are on. But the place had what I needed, so gets 4 stars!
M. A.
Had the goods that I went for
N. C.
Soft plastic pads for furniture
J. M.
Although they didn't have what I required staff were pleasant and friendly nice clean store, fantastic range of d.i.y. products at very reasonable prices
j. l.
Good selection of hardware and tools
W. C.
Large store, easy to find products with plenty of staff on hand.
M. K.
It's really expensive place. In Leicester you can find couple cheaper stores. But still, they have everything to build/fix your home.
c. r.
Handy for tools and gardening equipment etc but can be hard to pay for stuff as the queuing system seems awkward
M. B.
As usual everything I wanted was in stock. The trouble with this branch of B&Q is the parking. Since the new toy store has opened and the entrance and exit has changed to two lane (IMO an accident waiting to happen) parking at the weekend which has always been a problem is now near on impossible.
The time it takes me to find a parking space I can drive to the Wigston branch and purchase my goods without the hassle of dodging excited kids running towards the toy shop..
In my opinion go to Wigston or buy online.
L. J.
Strange this bnq... You go online to order something and it says out of stock. But then you find it on the shelf... One staff says they have it and one staff says they don't... Odd you might say? Well... Not really. It is only a bnq after all.
S. S.
Always lots of choice for household and garden products.
sadly today they did not have the item we wanted, we were sent by a member of staff to the far end of the store, we could not find the required item we therefore asked a further member of staff who advised us that they no longer stocked the product.
c. W.
Great place for everything... guess all staff are being cut back everywhere.. spent more time looking for somebody to help with the product..
It's a shame you could not put what you wanted into a computer when going in and it give you a location or a staff member bring it to you lol
A. M.
Average nice price
R. H.
Plenty of space, uncrowded, queue on exit but everyone was patient and socially distant. No problems encountered.
P. R.
Good crowd control, sanitising, and social distancing measures in place. A safe place to shop.
a. b.
B & Q is, as you know, a large warehouse that contains a lot of what you like. Hold out for TV deals (in my opinion) but overall it is a good place to go in you want to find travel around for a large selection.
J. J.
Pleasantly surprised, they had everything I wanted at great prices. I don't go there for advice though!
U. c.
Good service and good variety...
R. T.
Had a great experience today,A B&Q assistant JULIE went out of her way to help with a lamp shade issue, couldn't thank her enough for all her help. Such help these days is very rare.
M. R.
Just a few minutes to get in. Man on door pointed me I the right direction for what I wanted. Long queue to get out but was moving fairly quickly. Not bad.
N. L.
We buy all our decorating stuff from here very reasonably priced does all house and Garden things. Nice big car park easy access
V.
Great products and a good price. Free parking. Great tip park here for Abbey Park
S. C.
Went in about 1 week ago not knowing exactly what I needed, explained to your staff member Dominic on building department he was very helpful and shown me exactly what I needed for the cheapest price possible , very very helpful young man, very pleasing on the eye too lol not just a pretty face. Will defo visit again
v.
Everything you need for home and garden DIY projects and helpful staff
M. W.
Has everything you need and easy parking. Watch out for the self service tills as the service is shockingly bad when it demands age check for any item involving blades or solvents.
D. S.
The store has almost everything you need. Staff are friendly and very helpful.
S. H.
Served by a really happy and attentive staff member today. Makes a change from the normal miserable staff i normally see.
G. C.
well stocked, large car park, easy to get to, helpful staff
L. B.
Well if your not happy with your experience at B & Q....I suggest taking a little walk over to the burger van in the car park?
The food is AMAZING and the staff are so lovely and friendly with really good prices!
I hope this is helpful x
Y. M.
Central location, good service, great choice..... excellent
A. J. S.
Amazing the treatment I received from the staff. It was my first time and from now on my election store
D. W.
As it is the bulb planting time I thought you might stock bulb planters in your garden tool section. As it is I had to find them on line. Not good for my back!!!
N.
This is the big store in leicester. If you dont find it here no other store will have it. Also home bargains here too which i go to,
k. e.
Always have everything I need and the staff are always really helpful to find something I'm looking for. Will definitely return and queuing is not an issue
H. K.
I forgot to take the name of the lady who was very helpful and good DIY knowledge, she gave good solid advice and helped me without wanting to rush away. Excellent service, why can't others do that👍👏
G. M.
Social distancing, trolley & hand sanitizing apply. Returns are now dealt with at all the check out desks. Working as normal as restrictions allow.
N. A.
Fast efficient and friendly
A. L.
Huge DIY superstore stocking a wide range of building, gardening and home decorating products. Would recommend the 'click-and-collect' service for larger orders as checkouts can get busy at peak times.
D. R.
Your staff Demi in painting section was very helpful.she has great knowledge of the products. She is an asset to your company. Thank you Demi for helping us choose the paint for our entire house.it looks great.
G. C.
Good and easy parking space easy to find what you want and good customer service 👌
C. S.
Busy! Got what I wanted . I know the checkout staff are under pressure but they could still engage with the customers
S. B.
Went in seeking a particular type of screw.
According to the labeling on the shelves they should stock them but the section was a mess with packets of screws in all the wrong boxes so couldn't find what I needed and had to go to Wickes instead
M. K.
Went to b&q leicester to buy garden furniture today. Received great help and 1st class customer service by store assistant Clarise. Very pleased thank you!
B. D.
Had good service
p. a.
Good & easy location plus have good products available
C.
I love B&Q i could spend a lot of money and time in this place came in for a few bits left with way more .
P. B.
Not too busy. Good range of plants with multi-buy deals.
B. Z.
Always clean and neat this store ! Also the staff at trade point checkout are very polite and friendly !
D. K.
Packed no enforcement on the door and people with no masks on I understand people having issues breathing but hole families without masks
p. b.
Great place easy to get around and is you need things cutting down they will do it for you
L. M.
Great plants there. We'll watered great staff thankyou. 👍
J. H.
Good store not enough floor staff to answer questions
G.
Good range of products, spacious car park. Always found the staff working there to be very helpful and knowledgeable. It's a 5* from me.
P. P.
Bit of a wait for click and collect but it is a Sunday morning. Easy to do but don't forget id.
T.
Great shop had everything I needed to renovate my house :)
M. B.
Expensive DIY store.
P. B.
Easy to find what you want if not the staff is very helpful
R. W.
Good range of products at good prices, however ques in store are way too long need more staff on tills
N. D.
Now fully open, it usually has just what I need. Not this time unfortunately
s. s.
Unlike the previous moaner, I can't really find much to complain about. Yes B&Q staff are busy, but that's because it's a popular store and, had the other chap not been so lazy, he'd have just gone into the store in the first place. He obviously wasn't that bothered about his MDF if he waited 5 days before getting off his backside... personally, I'd have gone somewhere else if I was sulking, he must love B&Q!
I've never really had a need to engage the staff in anything other than small talk at the tills, being a bloke, i know what i need and where it is. On the one occassion that I did need some help, a young lad went out of his way to assist me and couldn't have been more helpful. Let's have it right, B&Q is a shop that sells things, you're not forced to go in there and you're not forced to give them your money, go to Homebase instead or, sit and home and whinge about something trivial instead, depends on how much of a life you have I guess.
K. A. K.
Went in the evening around 5pm, no queues to enter, and no queues at checkout, quick in quick out with all my shopping
S.
Great finding anything and everything you need for your home there. Staf service is splendid 👌
A. S.
Great shop for all your diy needs but with covid going on u need a mask or no entry......
G. P.
There's cycle parking, but it's the "wheel bender" variety. So not very handy. And really unhelpful if you have a cargo bike. The whole place is very old school.
R. J.
Great speed putting my order together. Click and collect could be better sign posted though
p.
Some things are good some bad staff take far to long to help.
c. n. p.
Bought some cement boards but no more special nails left in stock for it. Update stock please!!!
K. B.
Plenty of parking
Staff was helpful in finding items I required
J. R.
Click and collect the way to go order pick up go no messing job done
A. W.
B&Q is another store full of items that you'd need for the house, very convenient, prices are reasonable
M. C.
Good safety measures! Found what I was looking for and cutting services very handy!
P. G.
Good shop but some customers totally ignore social distancing.
j. t.
Well done the ladies in trade today
We have been to other stores and couldn't get what we needed
Tracy and her colleague went out of their way to help
Thanks again ladies
