This is a great store with expert staff and great products. Definitely a cut above your average hardware store. I had searched numerous other hardware stores in south London for replacement nuts and bolts with quite specific thread pitch requirements for a home DIY project. Other stores had generic poor quality hardware with only a single thread pitch. The staff at Belton and Slade identified the correct specification for the hardware and had some in stock. They also had a wide range of tools and after discussing my project were able to sell me the right tools that made the job a lot easier. I only wish there were more hardware stores like this! Excellent little hardware shop. Very friendly and helpful. I needed a replacement dome nut to repair a school hand bell - they had exactly what I needed and fitted it all for me perfectly.

Excellent shop, staff are knowledgeable and incredibly helpful to people who just want to get replacements for some lost screws. Bring cash, not because they’re picky, more because you’re unlikely to spend much more than a fiver in there. Proper Indy that should be supported.

Best DIY store in Wandsworth. It is a real hardware store which doesn't mind if you are a tradesmen or an unskilled amateur who lives nearby (me). Just go in, say what your issue is or what you need and they will have it, or offer advice.

Fantastic shop - the only place to get unusual items (e.g. uncommon sizes of bolts or wood screws), and they know their stock (unlike many big DIY stores) and can offer advice. Whilst working in organ building, we often needed replacement screws etc. in sizes which are no longer made, or needed items identified - they would typically reply, "yes, that's a such&such pre-war American thread, I think we have some in a box out the back" - only once did we draw a blank (with some hand-made coach bolts from an organ building-frame!).

Belton and Slade is excellent. Please go there instead of the DIY superstores, as we need this shop. Just gone there to buy some really obscure screws to fix my oven door, and they had them. No ordering. They had them in stock. Same thing a few years ago when my son's scooter broke - they helped me choose some screws that fixed it perfectly. Fantastic shop.

A great local hardware store, with so many items and varieties available for the Novice DIY'er to the Building Professional's! Mick and Keith are very helpful and always available to discuss thoroughly what a customer requires and also assist / accommodate larger orders, that sometimes require ordering in.
