Amazingly good DIY store. Service is consistently helpful, friendly, and polite. They actually make you feel welcome as a customer. Huge, varied stock at good prices, and the guys are always happy to help you find just the right product. Unlike some staff at retail chains, they don't parrot the product descriptions at you; they know what they're talking about and are up-to-date on everything. Also good for tips if you're not a "handyperson" (I'm not). 100% recommended. All shops should be like this. Well done Impromill!

Handy for DIY products and when I visited, they provided a friendly and informative service. Person took us to the section we needed and gave suggestions of what would be appropriate rather than just pointing us in the general direction. They explained that they would gladly exchange any product that we found not to be the correct type, as we were unsure of the fitting we needed. Would happily recommend them.

We were putting together an unusual DIY project, and we could pretty much get everything we needed from Impromill. Anat was really really patient and helpful, despite there being other customers who needed help he would always be on-hand to help, giving us space to decide, cutting materials to size (several pieces, may I add, and cut cleanly!) and never once making us feel like we were imposing. Even when considering other hardware stores in the area, I still would never hesitate to come back to Impromill!

This is the only proper DIY hardware store I've found in the Holloway/Finsbury Park area. Staff is incredibly friendly and will listen to what you're trying to achieve in order to give you the best advice possible. They'll take back any material that wasn't suitable for what you needed. First of all: OPENING TIMES are currently wrong on here, they ARE open Sunday (from 10am onwards), weekdays it's 8am-6pm. (Not sure if the homepage currently linked here is correct...) SO: I despise google+ and never wanted an account, but this shop simply deserves the effort of creating a second account just because they deserve a ten star rating and a review. Have been customer here for about a year, and even now, after moving, I come back. Not ONCE did they not know all the details about, well, everything! It's a go-to for both absolute non-crafty noobs (go ahead, think of the blonde clueless housewife here...) and professionals. I have witnessed people coming in with the sentence "I bought a hanging cupboard, but I have no clue how to put it up there, can you help". You can ask them anything about a product or simply describe what problem you have or what you are trying to do and they help you out. For example: I went in once with just the name of one blade of my jigsaw and they knew without looking it up what make, which compatibility, what I needed and which of the parts they had in stock and which ones they would have to order. Another time I just went in with vague ideas and a few drawings and they made a few suggestions that helped me out a lot. So: Always great advice and never tried to sell me the more expensive version of something if I didn't need it. They take the time to explain the items and give you a comparison ("If you know that you will need to do xx later on, this does xx, this does xx"). For example knowing which brush leaves which kind/amount of brushmark with which kind of paint, pointing out that the more expensive item is only needed in the case of... etc. Other things I love: There is the option to buy single screws, specific lengths of something or just get small samples, REALLY good prices! (Mostly I found them to be much cheaper than large DIY stores and online options - and I compare a lot.) Returning something was never a problem. If a woman asks for an item (hinge, nail, screw etc.) in a different colour because "it would look prettier", they don't sneer, comment, grin etc, they simply deal with it professionally, explaining the choices and offering alternatives or a work-around. To sum it up: Gradually this store has managed to become my favourite place to shop, despite the fact that it is not selling chocolate. Never thought something like that could happen...
