Just had a delivery of materials made for our builders. Very friendly, considerate and made sure he discussed where to drop the goods and that we were happy. He considered leaving space for the garage door to open and suggested we move some items to the back in case of theft. Absolutely perfect service 👌🏻

I’m doing a self build, I had fantastic service from J A Stephens during this Pandemic year, all the staff from ordering over the phone and front counter staff provide a fantastic service, delivery drivers are brilliant. Their is a shortage of materials but that’s not JAS fault is it. I would just like to say a big THANK YOU to KATE in the office who has always helped myself by pushing my delivery’s forward, ( when I’ve ordered late ) thank you KATE.

We have used John A Stephens a number of times over the past few months. The delivery is generally quite prompt and hassle free. All goods have been as expected. However the last delivery person we had was unbelievably rude, I think some training on customer service is needed for this man in particular. Either that or he needs to find himself a job where he isnt needed to communicate with people.

Felt very safe, glad to see that Covid restrictions are observed and visitors safety respected. Fantastic stockholding dispite the challenging times we are in, wish I'd gone there first! As a female, I felt welcome and the staff were knowledgeable and helpful - I did some research before I went in so as not to be completely out of my depth! They had everything I needed and arranged delivery as my vehicle wasn't suitable. Delivery went as planned, I wouldn't hesitate to use them again, will be recommending to others too!

Been coming here for over 28 years, never disappointed. Best in Britain. Blokes working there try their best to help when asked. They don't rush up and start badgering you about what you want. That is the way it should be. When you do a job you have to be careful about over ordering or under ordering materials so being left to decide is the correct way. Also, if you are a plonker and try to be over clever you get the response you deserve. Just ask politely and work with the answer. If they haven't got what you want they will ask their mates where to get it from and advise you on best practice. They just want to help. Can't please everyone but they try.

Very helpful. Massive selection of building materials. Recently bought some roofing tiles here. Went out if their way to natch the tile colour to the existing tile. Nothing was too much trouble. Also took ppe very seriously and sanitised the card machine before and after use. Fast and efficient service. Lots of staff available to help and alleviate waiting times.

Most just sit in folk lifts on their phones. Wide choice of materials. The biggest merchants I’ve ever been to. Keep up the top service

This building merchant will probably do every type of material if not they will try there hardest to get it. They do brick cutting and make any brick shape you like the list goes on and for deliverys they are fantastic they are so quick and I have never come across a bad driver yet cheers John Stephens and I would 100% recommend.

Great place to visit to get what you need. There website isn't very user friendly I spent hrs trying to order loads of stuff for garden project but gave up and ordered from another company so they lost a large amount of money due to rubbish website

The thing I rate most highly about John A Stephens is that they want to work with you. They deliver materials without fuss and quickly most often next day and probably even same day if you were really stuck. Called twice in two days for concrete blocks cutting to size, on the second occasion I called in the cutter(chris) was just leaving for his dinner break but held back his break time and cut my block (not many would do that..thanks Chris & J.A Stevens

Having worked for the last two years on renovating my house, starting out as a novice, I can highly recommend John A. Stephens. Most builders merchants are set up to service builders who know what they are talking about and coming into these places when you don't know what you are doing can be an incredibly frustrating affair. The guys at John A. Stephens are very knowledgeable and extremely helpful, even for people who are not entirely sure what they are doing. Their stock of reclaimed materials have also been very useful as I have been restoring an old house. Since finding this outfit, I have used them a lot, for all kinds of things, from hand tools to large deliveries and I have never been let down or left frustrated, which I have often done at other builders merchants.
