This is a hard one to rate - the awful access from the Tavistock Road knocks a point off from a customer perspective before you even get to the store.
Selection is fine but signage and organisation need some review - example I was after loft insulation and there is some end of aisle but the product I wanted is on an aisle that is signposted from one direction only and when you get there the actual product signage is poor like many in every B&Q it seems.
Then why oh why is the self checkout closed so often???
And I am not marking down for the stupid issues with the loyalty card - I think dropping to 2 stars would be a bit harsh but the loyalty card is not working for me but when I try to access it says my email is already registered but won't send a reset link/code and I get no response from the help channels - I am probably missing out on some great deals having just moved and lots of work to do

Can't believe I'm writing a review of a DIY store but here goes.
Store is huge, clean and tidy. Unusually quiet on my visit.
I was disappointed, having bought an infrared heat panel from b and q online, only to find it didn't come with a thermostat to control the heat. Staff in-store told me they don't sell them. I was a bit miffed and was told 'they don't make the rules'. I was eventually advised to go to another business to get what I needed.
Oh well, I shall be a bit more careful next time.

A place I like to go for DIY stuff for both my work and home. A vast selection of goods on sale from gardens to building. Lighting to kitchens and bathrooms. It's one of the largest ones I've visited and can take a while to get around. They have a little cafe if you want a drink and light bite. I could list but would take ages to do so. So I suggest you go for a visit. It will or should have most of what you need.
M. D.
Very easy when using click and collect service, I have only used click and collect but every time it has been convenient and quick to get whatever I need, when I had an issue with an item I collected going back they replaced it immediately with no questions asked.
D. S.
It's a B&Q. Parking is good, large range of stuff, especially hardware. Prices could be more competitive on some items, and the roof leaks when it rains, odd given they carry a range of leak repair products!
J. A.
This B and Q is a big store for Plymouth, they have a wide selection of the usual DIY, houseware and garden centre products. They also have a dedicated section for tradesmen and women. The car park is absolutley massive but please watch out for the aggressive speed bumps. Trade point is first on the left, the main entrance is furthest on the left.
P. T.
Got it well laid out never too busy, price of wood ie batton 1.65 to 2.40 becoming unaffordable
D. J.
They have all the goods but the Staff need to be trained in customer relations, some can be quite rude with little manners and a superior attitude. A really big shop but not a toilet facility on site. I will do my best not to use BandQ in the future and will opt for smaller more local and welcoming outlets.
B. I.
Easy to find what you're looking for, staff are helpful, and returns are super easy if you're like me and don't properly read labels
R. P.
Only really popped in to look for a birthday gift for a avid gardener. There was plenty of parking and trolly bays were well stocked. With this excessive heat the store was very cool. It was well stocked 1 star was loss due to high prices. The till assistant was VERY friendly and kind.
M. H. (.
Was a great offer on paint. Shame the staff in the trade bit aren’t more helpful.
J.
Just purchased a kitchen from B&Q, best price and quality I could find for my budget. Very helpful staff helped us to sort out what we needed.
A. B.
Only one roll of 200mm insulation left! Member of staff on collections desk very helpful. One on till really didn't want to be there and probably shouldn't be much longer
C. H.
Pretty good for every DIY or gardening needs .just a little disappointed that they no longer stock crown paints...unusual for a large DIY superstore not to stock one of the top brands of paints
S. S.
Wonderful customer service yesterday . A busy member of staff stopped what he was doing to help me with bags of compost . He changed my trolly for a more suitable one , loaded it then offered to take me to the checkout and to my car but I still had a bit more shopping to do , so he checked on his phone the aisle that I needed . Took me to it and helped me decide . Then to the checkout and to my car which he admired and thought he’d change his for one like it . Compliment !
Loaded the car and also did up my loose shoe lace !
S. S.
Very well stocked, but initially couldn't find the tiles we were looking for. A staff member diligently searched their app but couldn't find it. It was in stock though and we eventually located the product ourselves.
s. d.
Little bit dissapointed by the selection of wallpaper instore, I wanted to check out a few designs I'd seen online but this wasn't possible so back home to the computer it was....
S. F. (.
Went in today staff very helpful plenty of variety on selected items and stocke is superb
M. A.
Decent sized store. Quick service for click and collect. Plenty of parking.
R. W.
Easy to get to, huge and full of everything you need. My only real gripes are that some things are just way too expensive and it isn't a surprise that they miss out to online sales (an example is LED light strips. £9.99 online, £29.99 in B and Q for the exact same product in a plastic wrapper). Other than that, it's great. I love the plant selection and the place is always well looked after.
A. C.
Good staff knowledge, bargains to be had if you look for them. Great product range.
D. F.
A large range of supplies but can be hard to find what you need. Didn't sell the replacement door handle I needed. Bit disappointed.
D. B.
It’s a megastore with much more stock variety than their smaller stores. Well worth a visit.
A. P.
They usually have what you're looking for, big place!!!!. Some nice Christmas decorations.
C. L.
Expansive DIY store selling everything you need for the home and garden plus a cafe to rest and recuperate.
T. B.
Good b&q but same they dont cut much timber down for you to fit in car
A. P.
Nice big store with good parking. Typical B&Q really lol.
T. C.
Always compare prices from here with elsewhere, not always cheapest but very convenient and very large store so good stock levels.
Z. S. K.
Didn't have much time to browse the shop but I did find items I was looking for. Shop is of A386 Tavistock road near Derriford hospital.
J. C.
When staff shows that they know it's worth paying a bit more for what you need. Very organized and cleaned. Staff very helpful however little knowledge on products.
D. E.
B & Q didn't have what we needed but the assistant was most helpful and checked the system for us.
I was however concerned at the sad state of racks of plants outside in the sun looking sad and desperate for water. Hate seeing such huge waste of goods. Must've been hundreds of pounds worth involved.
P. H.
Pretty quiet. Stuff quite close to what you need but just not exact. Things hard to find. Short queues. Nice personable smiley checkout. Discounts available if you would like to sign into loyalty card system.
S. M.
Staff very helpful and knowledgeable, very clean, good layout, easy to navigate due to clear signage
J. N.
Got everything I wanted then went back for whot I needed 😀
C.
I found it hard to find some fence posts. Went to the timber section indoors but it turned out it was completely at the opposite end outside in the garden centre! At the check out I was also charged for a pack of four posts rather than a single one on two items so four bits of wood almost cost me £96 rather than £62. Just as well the customer was on his toes...
M. S.
I really like shopping at B&Q because the opening hours are very good and you can also see what you buy and not have problems with the return of things as it is the case when you are buying things online...
P. B.
Quite a extensive range of DIY at reasonable prices. Black Friday deals are on at the moment. Grab a bargain as they say.
M. s. E. k.
Nice shop they have everything u want
n. w.
Very handy store. But know dry trolley inside just wet ones outside. You would think if rains forcasted someone would keep some inside. Pain if you want to get bags of plaster etc.
M.
Helpful staff, generally easy shopping experience
S. W.
Well, what can you say about B&Q? It is what it is. We very nearly bought two sun loungers at a cost of £111.00 each but left them in the end which was quite a good move as later that day we went into B&M and bought a couple which were exactly the same make, same colour same packaging and all for the absolute ridiculous price of .... £25.00 each, hows that for an amazing bargain.
M.
Not too crowded, friendly staff but had the garden plants dying...
M. C.
Pretty good B&Q. Has a free offcuts bin which is nice. Just leave a donation. Toilets are clean.
G.
Used Plymouth B&Q for a few things. It's a long way from home so have made calls ahead of our journeys and always been thankful for the assistance we've been given. Very professional and very helpful and has always been worth the journey for us!!
H. H.
It’s a DIY store. Can seem a bit pricey but it depends on what you’re after I suppose.
Plenty of parking. staff are friendly but there ain’t that many of them. Or that’s how it seems.
They don’t accept the military discount card as a British company that’s a bit disappointing.
So I just I just spent my money with one that does.
Cheers
DR
B. D.
Very friendly and helpful staff, the place is huge and has a very wide variety of everything.
D. C.
Large free carpark. Large store with loads of choice. Staff very friendly and helpful
J. R.
Busy store, clean and tidy too which was good considering the size of the place. Will go back there again.
B. C.
Really big shop with lots of products. Easy layout makes it very quick to find what you need. Really good offers and now had self checkout
K. T.
Staff were helpful, and answered all questions.
J.
Super selection of round head nails
N. j.
One of the biggest B&Q out there more staff than customers wouldn't like to pay the wages bill ,
d. s.
Same old. All you need is there. Staff are friendly and helpful.
B. W.
The quality of service has declined at this store. I have, on several occasions, reserved items for click and collect but have visited the store to find that these items are out of stock or have not been reserved.
This really needs attention.
J. H.
It is the first time I have been to this type of store since lock down arrangements were lifted. It was encouraging to see that they supplied hand sanitiser and spray for the trolleys, however the take up by the customers was extremely poor. The store is huge and it was easy to social distance. Plenty of stock and well laid out, I found everything I was looking for.
P.
10% off today, so spent less than I anticipated. Served quickly with just a short wait at the checkout.
m. p.
Helpful staff.. shame about the flooding outside.
S. N.
Good range of domestic DIY stuff, always plenty of parking.
S. R.
Easy to park here. Pleasant staff. Always has had what I need in stock. Prices good and easy to return too.
Nice to browse here.many brands stocked. Kfc,mcdonalds,m&s food next door so good if your busy working.
J. P.
Today was a good day at B&Q, Plymouth. The two staff members I saw were friendly. Only 2 ahead of me in the queue so service was quite quick. Not always like that! Also it was fairly quiet, customer wise, so able to exit the car park promptly too which was a bonus!
a. p.
OK 4 visits in 1 day no problems
L. B.
Good for MDF cutting. Sometimes a bit pricey
m. l.
Quick and easy, items were hard to locate though
H. S.
It's a big store, I didn't find it easy to locate what I wanted but the staff were super helpful and could point me in the right direction every time.
M. W.
Well stocked store has a great garden centre lots of well cared for plants
S.
Not badly stocked, but difficult to get help with finding items. Plenty of parking, but access to the main road is awful.
A. R.
B and Q, KFC PIZZALAND M and S. Getting really busy now, nice to see things are getting back to normal after a long time during Covid.Things appear to be back to normal except that pizzaland has closed.
D.
DIY heaven . Garden home and all you can think of.
A. C.
I love B&Q. It’s got a clear layout. They have advice and knowledge information boards all over. The customer assistants are helpful. They even have a customer toilet. I’m a big fan!
D. S.
Massive store and helpful staff. Store has absolutely everything you would be looking for. Downside is the coffee/costa isn't very good at all and I won't be using that again.
J.
Thankfully I got there (10.10am) just before the queue started getting long. Went straight in. Staff were all very helpful. Already knew what I wanted so no need to go searching for anything. Large display of Bedding plants on offer. Loaded up my flatbed trolley with pants & multipurpose compost (125ltrs) then headed to the Checkouts. Followed the signs, didn't have to wait very long at the checkout queue. Followed the staff's instructions and kept behind the yellow line while lady at checkout scanned all the plants etc on my trolley. Paid by card and I was in and out within 30mins. Brilliant!
t. j.
Almost all you need under one roof for all your home diy.
I. G.
Big with everything that you need, sometimes the best offers. The shop doesn’t have a proper well done bathroom
N. H.
Nice friendly atmosphere, Matt in click n collect was extremely helpful. Much better than the Exeter B&Q customer service.
c. w.
Queued for half an hour for Click and collect, was very understaffed (two tills, only one agent) staff grouped up and assisted with same customer, which was unnecessary with plenty of us waiting.
Not quick or smooth a service to be honest.
R. B.
What a wide range of products all in this one huge store. Helpful friendly staff. Prices on par with other large retailers. Great day out if you love your DIY!
A. S.
Massive store. It has got everything which your home or garden needs. Plenty of indoor and outdoor plants, wallpapers, carpenter tools, plumbing tools what not. I have purchased 2 plants and Wellington shoes at b&q. They maintain very good quality and that's the reason this store is always busy with so many people coming from around Plymouth.
C. G.
Felt very safe shopping at B&Q. Trolleys sanitised before being given to us. Not too many people in store at any time. A clear one way system in operation at busy places and plenty of tills open so not a long wait to pay. Everything we wanted was in stock and staff as helpful as usual.
p. b.
The staff here were really helpful and polite
K. J.
I always find what I want here, also hate the place as me and hubby always fall out over my plant buying !, great place for plants guys ! Staff can be a bit vacant
M. B.
Did not get parts required sold out
K. O.
Staff were very nice, and helpful
A. B.
Got what I wanted & helped out by the staff to find the item and get the right size
V. M.
The manager by the tills was very helpful
S. W.
Store is fine, likewise staff helpful etc. Good COVID-19 systems in place. BUT...3 or 4 articulated lorries all delivering to this business park at the same time! It caused traffic chaos. If you have a local business forum...I suggest you discuss coordinating delivery times to the site.
M. B.
Nice big store with big car park. Lots of items in stock. Usually get what I need. Can be tricky getting out of car park on busy days.
R. I.
Amazingly easy to get what you need, helpful and knowledgeable staff.
Still couldn’t figure it out if they have a customer toilet 🙂
I hope they’ll improve on waiting times at till, and they’ll open more, if a big queue is formed.
L.
Great covid measures, obviously a huge store so plenty of space for distancing.
I'd like to give a special mention to Liis in helping us sort our bathroom. We were quite indecisive and Liis was so efficient, helpful and competent with offering advice from the design process through to ordering.
I'd also like to mention Rob who was incredibly helpful and had such a lovely manner. Our b&q experience has been very positive
R. K.
Can be expensive but you will probably get what you need for DIY. The main problem is the same as any large DIY store, everything comes in standard packs so you could end up with far to many of what you need.
Do good reductions on plants that go on sale, they may look poor but we have had great success with replanting and watering.
All in all its a big store that does its best.
a. h.
Plenty of fresh plants 🪴very helpful and friendly staff
J. D.
Perfect for everything you need, I mostly go for the garden centre as it's massive and always has what I need. Staff are also very clued up on stock and where to find items and very easy to speak to when you need a bit more info.
M. G.
Went to store to purchase a shower and flooring not on the shelf, guy ? called Chris was more than helpful ordered in store on line and it has been delivered by lunchtime today very impressed.
Buying wooden flooring a bit of a minefield, again very helpful chap called Mac could not have asked for better customer service, have had some bad experiences with larger stores and chains so well done to staff and thank you
A. M.
The stock they hold is fantastic and of very good quality.
Just choose the time you visit very wisely as the queue to get into the carpark because of Kentucky fried chicken can be very long. It has put me off, but its not the stores fault
A. O.
Staff are always generally really helpful when you have questions and can direct you to the most appropriate product for the job at hand.
A. L.
Enjoy visiting this B&Q. As there has been a massive change of staff and layout. The staff are more friendly and the new manageress, Manda, brings a fresher attitude. The new till checkout layout works brilliantly, and any ques soon diminish. As there is the facility to either pay by card, (ideal during Covid) or cash. Though there are a couple of tills that take cash or card. A really simple but clever apication of common sense. Well done B&Q Tavistock Road here in Plymouth
C. D. E.
... has most of the time what I am looking for, good price's, a bigger range of products, soon enough will be like Home Depot from America if take his examples.
H. S.
Everything you need when you need it, great collection service if ordered online and finding things in store isn't difficult either as everything is where you'd expect.
R.
DIY store selling all items pertinent to DIY. Parking available. Click & collect option available for those wishing to order online & collect at store. (Warning part of road flooded on exit).
H. D.
Like to say thank you to Martin the young guy in the tile department who couldn’t do enough for us on Tuesday, even offering to help us to the car with all our tiles, so helpful and pleasant 🙂
P. P.
Competitive price on the day. Helpful staff on the counter, but B&Q's technology let's them down every time on any product that does not come with a bar code on it.
A. H.
Got exactly what I wanted at a better than expected price. Very helpful staff gave guidance where to find it.
s. p.
Good stock overall but I've dropped one star because some items have been hard to find in store(the isle numbers on the website aren't referenced in store well), or out of stock despite showing in stock in the website.
B. F.
Good prices but some staff not the collection staff were not very helpful
P. C.
Ordered a kitchen for our rental property at around 2:30 on a Wednesday afternoon. It was on a pallet on my driveway by 10am the following morning. All the bits were there. The lady in the kitchen department was great too. The rest of the store is huge and not the cheapest but it’s handy to pick things up if you need them in a rush. Beware the website. It doesn’t often seem to correspond to what is actually in stock.
L. S.
Extremely well stock with an immense range of products, many keenly priced.
As is usual with these establishments some of the staff could be a little more cheerful and helpful.
B. B.
Always got something useful, unfortunately 2 things let them down, 1. Length of time you have to wait if you order, ( ordered wardrobe doors, 6 week wait time, BUT, the doors were on the top of the shelf stacked, so might have taken 6 weeks to train an operator to use a fork lift? )
2. Over priced on so many things, so they are now second stop if amazon prime does not have it.
A. B.
Staff are lovely. Covid compliance is first class. Stock levels are good and returns/exchanges are handled quickly and fuss free. Busy today (Good Friday) - but everyone being sensible 👍
S. b.
Good prices and loads of different products
P. W.
I would like to give a huge thank you to Dave who helped my partner and me choose some kitchen tiles today. I have never experienced such amazing customer service, nothing was too much trouble. Well done By&Q and many thanks Dave
S. B.
This B&Q store is one of the larger ones, which means it sells pretty much everything for building or decorating home and garden. Their customer service is excellent, everyone is really knowledgeable and friendly. The prices are similar to the competition but they have way more products, which means your trip is never wasted, as it can be elsewhere, so it's worth going out of your way to visit.
F. H.
Extra large B&Q - everything you could need and lots you didn't know you needed until you start walking around. Public loos a little ropey now though.
E. A.
The only positive is the showroom, the quality of the paint, tiles, kitchens and some tools are under DIY range, I don't recommend to use it for professional purposes or big projects.
N. K.
This is the largest DIY store in the area, providing plenty of services from timber and carpet cutting to advice on products. Massive range of paints, building supplies and gardening. What ever you can think of really. Trained and helpful staff, option for click and collect or home delivery. Huge car park as well.
A. B.
It's a great big store full of good stuff. Fairly straight forward, it's a shop with lots of wood, metal stone and plastic. It stocks tools to hit, cut, shape, smooth and make holes in all of the above and nails, screws, nuts and bolts to hold it all together. There's also lots of bits of wood, plastic and fabric already cut, shaped and put back together again to store all the tools, fixings and left over bits in an orderly manner.
O. B.
Massive store with trade point. The store has a good and varied selection of you normal DIY goods that are mostly in stock. The store can be void a staff member to assist but this is because it is big. Most of the greenery we buy lives long and presents no issues.
Staff are all friendly and knowledgeable offering sound advice when asked.
The large carpark has plenty of room even during peak however the entrance and exit is catastrophic. A pinch point causes issues regardless of when you go.
Inside there are toilets and a coffee shop, or outside there is a pizza hut and KFC.
L.
Had everything we needed. Staff were helpful and happy when asked a question. A good shopping trip.
S. F.
Great B&Q store in good location. Usual wide range of products for both expert and novice DIYer enabling home updating and restoration of your home. Very helpful staff who guide customers to their areas of interest. They made the shopping experience less stressful
J. “. J.
Huge store with plenty of parking with fast food available the other end of the carpark after a long shop. Great staff and clean store
R. B.
Took my mum to get some bits for Christmas
A. K.
Unfortunately, the website hasn't been updated so couldn't buy what I wanted. Always check other retailers ' prices because most things are way more expensive here...
R. S.
Pretty good place for DIY stuff, but still doesn't have a broad enough inventory of the basics (e.g. plumbing supplies), and definitely a little too expensive.
S. G.
Standard BandQ: Quality products at ludicrously expensive prices.
Nice open layout as usual. Easy free parking. Staff at this store are a friendly and helpful bunch.
A. L.
Huge range, easily accessible. What's good is the staff knowledge and expertise. I had to fix Mum's concrete steps; couple of staff provided me with the ideas and products to do the job.
M. A.
Have some good deals and can get almost anything you need here. My only fault is that items are not left in right places. I thought I was getting a good deal on a combi drill and spent ages queuing on a Saturday and turns out I had the wrong product. Also there was an item online for £75 that I nearly ordered but ended up going in store and got it for £50. Lucky I did.
N. C.
Massive range, good products, displayed well. In my view, the best of the DIY/ home improvements shops, if you need to see and feel the product. This is a well stocked branch. There are cheaper warehouse type tools suppliers when you know what you need exactly.
A. M.
I got everything I needed and at the right price
B. P.
Shelves are pretty bare in some sections every time I go in. Went in to buy some doorknobs and find it a little strange that they don't sell the style I already have without a lock, this means I either have handles that don't match or locks on doors that don't need them. This may not bother most people but it does me. The toilets were also pretty gross, puddles all over the floor and no working hand driers. Other than those niggles it's a great place to stock up on bits for DIY jobs.
S.
Getting way overpriced compared to other DIY stores
K. C.
Went to find some sandpaper for a project. I was shocked by the price and lack of range when it comes to grades. However the way they manage offcuts for a small donation to charity is amazing. It's left in a red bin as you exit.
S.
Staff are very helpful when you can find someone. There just doesn't seem to be enough staff on the floor to help us customers find things or advise us.
d.
Displays dusty and uninspiring. Staff unable to advise on product,as Manager who dealt with particular item was on holiday, and permission was needed to demonstrate the product.
J. V.
Nice bright and airy, good staff knowledge
A. F.
Huge B and Q with a car park to match. Careful on the speed bumps they are quite nasty especially if you own a car with small clearance to the ground.
There is plenty of staff in here and there’s a cafe that’s inside.
S. P.
Excellent service. Was able to get 2 large sheets of plywood cut to size. (They will do 4 cuts per customer)
L. K.
Very friendly & helpful staff. Only downfall too many wire baskets around the aisles. Especially seeing as all had to form one queue.
J. T.
There is a one way system with social distance lines to get in to the shop which is well run and doesn't take long. Most items are still available in store from tools to building and decorating and garden supplies.
j. n.
Big store .
Staff very helpful.
Bought two very nice conservatory tub chairs.
L.
Lovely staff. Why don't they sell car liners/ tarps? Seems an obvious product line if you're buying paint etc.
T. P.
Typical B 'n' Q store lay out, same as everywhere else. Tidy and well light all round. Helpfull and friendly staff, as what i needed wasn't on the shelf. Disappointed at the tills though, self service is card only (used to accept cash) and the staffed tills don't do contactless payments.
r. s.
Great service today from Adrian - who although he was badged as security walked me around the store to a cheaper solution. Often it's the little things that make a business.
P. K.
Great DIY superstore. Garden supplies, electrical and home furnishings also. I purchased some planed timber and some wood dye. Huge car park.
If your hungry I can highly recommend the bacon roll and coffee from the b&q cafe.
J. A. R.
Very helpful staff, we found everything that we needed n it was reasonably priced. There was a nice cafè, the cups of tea were enormous. A toilet was available at the back of the store even if nothing was bought.
T. T.
Staff very helpful and prices are still very reasonable.
A. B.
They usually have what you need. Click and Collect available. Plenty of indoor and outdoor plants too. Pretty much all you need if doing DIY.
R. A.
Brilliant customer service, went in on Saturday to buy some tools to fix our bed and both Alan and Rob were very helpful in cutting a piece of wood and showing us which would be the best drill to buy. Amazing!
C. D.
Nearly got over excited buying masonry paint.
Luckily a great friendship.took askance at my dilemma and led me to less parlous dangers. Thankfully won't need to cross that very dangerous journey across the Tamar again!
A. C.
Not a bit place but never seems to have enough of what I need the road in and out is a nightmare too not well thought out for the amount of custom that area sees.
M. S.
Usually good for all you need quickly for DIY however beware of the trolly park barriers in the care park poorly marked for evening parking costing me £285 to repair the wing of my car.
C. A.
Some click and collect difficulty but very good customer service staff. Polite, pleasant and efficient. Generally a good store.
K. M.
Brilliant selection of decorating equipment and paint. Pretty much all garden and DIY stuff you need under one roof.
D. M. C. B.
It's b and q. Everything you need but avoid visiting at meal times as access can be an issue with everyone queueing for kfc
K. S.
Very helpful staff was returning paint as colour wasn't good no problems picked a different colour all OK great customer service
N. M.
Good selection of everything DIY. Access and parking can be a problem due to location and road layout.
J. T.
This D.I.Y store is pretty large and has everything you need. The quality it middle range and sells some nice stuff.
We bought our kitchen there and more recently have done our two bedrooms out. Doesn't sell carpets though.
B. S.
A great store just wish delivery was a bit more organised waited far to long for laminate flooring which was my last order promised me some compensation never received anything dissapointed but on the whole pretty good .
R. H.
Very busy shop but staff were all very helpful
A. D.
B&Q is always a pleasure to visit :charming and helpful staff: huge stock :value for money : clean and well arranged store-and in their cafe, the best bacon roll EVER!! What more could one ask! Many thanks B&Q.
P. E.
Reasonably good advice from staff when asked. Value and quality provided varies across the store. One big advantage is the massive range of items, enabling diy-ers the chance to browse before buying.
L. R.
Fantastic place to purchase the majority of DIY products and Gardening Items well worth visiting the store Thank You
C. M.
Very well stocked and I always come out with what I need. Prices can be a little steep compared to other places and online, but it's a trade-off for convenience. The cafe isn't much to speak of.
S. C.
Have been helpful throughout lockdown with the click and collect and working hard to adhere to guidelines at all times. Many quality items purchased recently
d. s.
Good range of a products, friendly and helpful staff but more specialist knowledge very limited on DIY like a lot of big stores. Good parking for loading. Not great for more specialist needs.
l. r.
The staff are so helpful especially plumbing and hardware, there are toilets in the top left hand side of the store and the self service checkouts have been removed, most of the time I find what I'm looking for
R. H.
Good range of DIY materials and gardening supplies. Always have cheap measuring jugs and dustpans.
B. K.
Very large B&Q warehouse, lots to choose from and a great garden area inside and out 👍
V. C.
Loved the range of items potted plants so fresh and good choice. Was helped by one of your staff Ann-Marie Copp very friendly and most helpful would certainly visit your store again.
S. R.
Covers all DIY, decorating and garden needs with a bit of decor thrown in. Not so many staff to help these days but it's the same in most places.
A. F.
Big store with plenty of different lines for the general DIY person to more professional tradesmen. Some bargains to be had and overall the quality of the items on sale is very good some things are'nt so good but you get what you pay for.
L. B.
A massive DIY warehouse with everything you need for the home and garden. Lots of staff around to help. However find the quality & longevity of door hardware & taps can be suspect.
P. A.
Wanted a tray to use for ready pasted wallpaper. Checked online first that they had them. First two assistants said they hadn't seen them before. Third person checked by Google and after half an hour found them. Thank you for sticking with the search. Perhaps a bit more enthusiasm from the first two assistants!!!
C. W.
There were not enough people on the tills. It took nearly 3/4 hrs to get through.
Some extortionate pricing on some goods...plastic funnel like item. Manufactured as hoselok goods.
Z. H.
This is a great DIY store located in northern Plymouth. There is a ginormous free car park outside, with disabled parking spaces. The store has a wheelchair accessible entrance, as well as toilets located at the very back of the store. As well as the normal area of the store, there is a garden at the bottom of the store, on the right hand side from the main entrance.
L. L.
Excellent service with our kitchen design. Dan was able to advise us on the best deals on the kitchen we liked.
Very happy.
Going back to design bathroom
J. F.
Very helpful staff, who went out of their way to help us find what we were looking for.
Unfortunately long queues at the checkout.
j. r.
Just had my bathroom completely tran sformed.....bath out low level shower installed.....all staff , surveyor, fitter, delivery staff and of course the guy from
Any Junk.....not one hiccup. 110% superb. After completion including removal of bath and rubbish, store staff very helpful choosing ac essories....best of all, the price was about two thirds of previous quotes. WELL DONE.
S. E.
Like bandq. Service good. Products good. Range good. Pricing fine. Abiance is what it is. Pity KFC screw over the access but that's not bandq's fault.
N. B.
Large store and very well laid out with helpful staff. Check around the sale area as some items I noticed were full price elsewhere in the store. Displays are easy to walk around with good lighting.
V. A.
Dropped in to purchase decorating materials, found all I wanted. Only problem as usual not enough check outs making you use the self service check outs which are hopeless, always takes longer.
J. P.
Generally good but need to clearly price items.
L. L.
Massive store spotless needed something for my kitchen sink found it in seconds ,was disappointed the cafe was gone and the toilets are a nightmare but that's due to covid not B&Q fault restrictions and the location if the toilets do make things complicated not good if your desperate or have a problem
M. J.
Asked a member of staff if he could work out centimetres from ft and inches
He didn't seem to interested he did do it with a grunt
R. J.
Doing well under the circumstances, staff very helpful. Some items in short supply but that goes for everywhere. Plenty of parking and the queueing doesn't take long even when busy.
B. M.
Prefer my local Totem at Mannamead, but sometimes I have to use the big box store for hard to get items in the smaller shop. Still, a good choice when you need them.
A. G.
Well stocked. Good amount of staff around for helping
A. L.
Good clean well stocked store.Helpful polite staff.
Bought a table and chair set for the garden that turned out to be a bad purchase.
S. B.
Busy but well stocked outlet with plenty for both outdoor space garden home interiors and also bargain food supplies
B. P.
It's B&Q. It's quite big. If you want a decent sized B&Q, fill yer boots...
B. J.
Fairly straightforward use Google directions. The narrow road towards the delivery entrance can very busy at times.
C. S.
Rob on the kitchen/bathroom designing team is a credit to the company. Brilliant customer service and a top bloke.
J. A.
The staff here are really nice and helpful. I didn't really know much about the paints as im a new home owner but i asked a man and he was really nice and helpful.
J. M.
Have got everything you need and the staff have excellent knowledge of their products
T. H.
To properly follow social distancing was difficult. Arrows were missing and sectioned out boxes were absent meaning that other people were too close. The staff were friendly and helpful.
t. w.
Huge DIY store. Very helpful staff and a very well stocked garden center.
M. W.
Bearing in mind the covid situation, the store and personnel were up to standard. Well spaced out. All staff helpful and it was a pleasant experience
D. P.
Aside from social distance issues (not b&q's fault that a few of the general public can't follow a one way system or understand what 2m distance means) the staff where helpful and friendly with trolly and hand sanitiser in place upon entry.
A. M.
I think b& q have learnt from the first lockdown to make sure they have the products in store. Easy experience & a well controlled social distancing environment.
L. G.
Went fairly early on a Saturday and lively and quiet. Lots of safety measures in place and staff very helpful. Garden centre plants looking lovely.
t. g.
Nice places but the trouble when you need a new kickchen they don't come to your house and work out what you won't you got to go to them and do it on a computer .there was a time when someone come to you .
J. B.
Staff are always very helpful, being such a large store it is not always easy to find what you are after, but just ask one of the staff and they'll either take you to the product or direct it right to it, love the B&Q club card savings.
G. F.
Removed the public toilets, another cancel culture event. Shop itself is good with a wide choice.
J. B.
Good range of products and helpful staff, just a pity there weren't more of them. Self serve tills weren't open (which I don't like anyway) and not enough tills open leading to long queues, very frustrating.
b. b.
Not busy hardly any soil in the garden section today.
D. S.
No problems today, a bit confused though as I took back a Bag of Postcrete, but had to return it to the till where I was purchasing 1 Sand + 1 Cement + 1 Paving Slab.
j. w. (.
Very good considering the queue looked daunting. The staff were very organised. And checkout staff quick . Got through quicker than expected .
M.
Expensive, displayed products lacks inspiration, thrown together, dishevelled products left strewn across the racking, dull experience in general. Better 10 years ago lost its way.
N. P.
It has all you need for DIY. Good range of products in sale at the moment!
J. H.
Very helpful staff to answer any questions that I had. Little queue at the tills but didn't take too long.
j. m.
Found what I wanted this time but the layout is not easy to negotiate for garden products you may have to search further in-store to find what you need
T.
Massive b&q warehouse. Everything is there that you could ever need. Helpful staff
l. d.
Typical b and q, disappointed they ran out of seed potatoes fast.
R. P.
A good place to shop, however the time before last I needed the toilet desperately. Sadly shut. Did not need to go the last time. I hope they are open now.
J. D. S.
Always helpful staff, clean, fantastic range of products, well stocked and the self service tills are really handy if you need something quickly. Parking is easy and plentiful.
T. Y.
Very well stocked shop, good discounts on some items too. Struggled to find staff to help with a heavy lift though, they seemed to have disappeared at just the right time!
G. W.
Had what I needed in stock......increased social distancing measures to make public feel comfortable....more staff all very helpful....thanks B&Q
J. D.
Got everything we wanted here ,only queued for 5 mins outside got through checkout really quickly , well impressed.
N. E.
Usual expected B&Q good service.
S. M.
Well B&Q is what it is. They have just about everything. Great products, helpful staff.
90% of my DIY shopping is done there.
D. W.
Very good service from Paul. He made buying a mattress very easy. Good products.
R. J.
A good selection of hardware and materials. Spacious and organized. Carpark is a good sized too
M. S.
Nice to see the car park reasonably clear, store busy but not too much. Some good special offers.
M. V.
Just needed a curtain pole but we could not leave quick because of the wide range of great products and wanted to have a look on its. 😊😉
t. t.
We fit their kitchens so go here regularly. Amanda and the team are first class and customer service is exceptional
J. S.
Good good and selection of products with helpful staff
S. T.
Wonderful Service from Clinton on the kitchen dept. Ordered a gorgeous kitchen with him and his patience was incredible. An asset to the team. Well done
P. H.
Click & Collect system was organised and quick. Good to see that B&Q are taking the right Social Distancing measures and appear to be providing staff with the necessary protective equipment.
A. B.
Typical DIY store.
J. G.
Had what I went in for. Some of the, stuff is a bit expensive. Staff have always been helpful.
A. N.
Store is large and great for some things but over priced .So big you would think they would stock on. A regular basis in the summer the gas for the weber. Barby couldnt get them last year always sold out got one last week went up again and all gone again they arnt big so please can you sort this
C. F.
Plenty of parking massive store
R. S.
Picking up an order for my son ...well organized store and collect point in great position near entrance
M. T.
Literally a day out for me i love b and q although they do need to take more pride in their loo as it looked dirty
p. l.
Well stocked helpful staff no problem finding what I was looking for
C. D.
All items in stock, used a voucher so a good price and socially distanced. Staff helpful.
D. S.
Well it's B&Q, to big some staff are great some are not. Trade discount is a joke apart from that it's not bad.
F. A. W.
Well set out so that you can clearly see which area you need to get to. Plenty of parking including blue badge spaces. Clean and the staff are helpful and friendly.
J. P.
Good store, friendly staff! Has all you would need for odd jobs around the house
M. B.
Love this place forever going here lovely man who cuts the wood only down fall is that up the first half there's hardly anyone to help but down the bottom half you can get someone easy
J. C.
It's huge! Great level of stock and very helpful staff. Well worth the 1hr drive to get here!
M. S.
I find the staff in here really helpful, and have no problem with saying (I don't know) but will point you to someone that will know. Great team of staff working their.
k. c.
Went looking for slabs but wasnt much stock even though online it said they had loads and what they did have was in very poor condition
j. s.
Had the product I needed when other companies throughout Plymouth didn't. Helpful staff who were knowledgeable.
A. H.
Very helpful staff will be going again in near future
J. L.
Great service from the kitchen designer today. Was seen without an appointment. Thank you.
K. D.
We went to B&Q at Tavistock road to buy some fence post. We went to have some posts cut and the guy on this area-Gary also known as garybaldi to staff went above and beyond for us cutting the post to the exact size we needed when he didn't have to. A really friendly and helpful member off staff, thankyou for your help
B. G.
A bit disappointed to find out the pensioners 10% discount is discontinued. I had to buy the electrical products I wanted to match existing. Will shop elsewhere cheaper in future 😢
P. L.
Came in to your store today to buy flooring, wasn't sure on how many Pack's of laminate flooring I needed as I measured in foot,I was helped by 2, lovely and very helpful lads, rob and nick from flooring they even took it all to my car, thank you
M. H.
Good store always well stocked, shame a particular member of staff was a bit rude otherwise it would’ve had a full 5 stars.
D. A.
It was a bit untidy when I went I today but it did look like the staff were trying to get stuff put away as quickly as possible.
S. P.
Just come from B&Q and had the most excellent customer service from Peter, our handle broke on our paint and he helped us with getting paint off our selves and cleaning the car park, making an extra fuss to make sure it wasnt on our clothes, shoes or car, he was an absolute super star, and really is a credit to the B&Q store.
J. R.
Will on the paint mixing desk is a lifesaver. Brilliant job.
Staff are all very helpful.
Thanks
J. I.
With one or two exceptions staff seem disinterested in the customer. Problems paying at tills not enough of them loads of spare capacity on self service that few use.Plants do need water to survive.
R. B.
Good price and good stock for what I wanted 😊
M. W.
Friendly,polite,with superb banter
L. M.
Expensive and poor stock availability. Garden centre looks like a plant grave yard. Nobody seems to water the plants. Nightmare on Friday and Saturday night due to people buying KFC and causing congestion into the retail park.
M. R.
Great selection, bits of everything though just when you need a few M8 nuts they run out.
m. r.
Sometimes I like it but I do find it difficult to find the goods advertised on its app. Staff not particularly attentive to their customers.
j. s.
Polite and helpful but does not ever seem to be any stock and staff cant get a answer of when back in stock on there computer system. Feel sorry for the staff, not there fault.
R. T.
Excellent service today from the 'paint' team. Persevered under difficult circumstances but outstanding customer skills especially 'Marc' Thanks for an enjoyable experience.
A. S.
I am disabled and had to find someone to help me in the plant section she was very unhelpful 😔
K. W.
Good store, quite large so not always easy to find what you are looking for. Staff very good, just too few of them sometimes
C. H.
It's good, but can get so busy now that it takes additional time to get through asles etc
L. S.
basically bought some door handles! its a diy shop.... does what it say on the tin
E. M.
Helpful staff but did not have item I wanted in stock
M. C.
Typical b and q , great :-) always find what we are after and some good bargains
A. R.
Trying to find staff who can help where everything are, no one available, also i was expecting to find items, but B&Q didn't have and run out allot of things.
H. O.
Good store bit delivery times not very good
S. l.
Just huge. Haha. The website can direct you to the isle that the product you are looking for is in. Or if you can find a staff member they are all happy to help.
I. S.
Typical large hardware superstore, helpful staff.
L. S.
Love this store and everything in it. Only thing is you can find exact same items cheaper in other shops and on line but not all items.
a. c.
Good selection of products in store at reasonable prices even if equivalent products can sometimes be found cheaper elsewhere but sometimes it is nice to see and buy straight away. Garden area a bit sparse.
h. g.
Large selection of the usual b and q products
A. S.
Always very easy to view products and isle assistance is always on hand and very helpful.
K. K.
Ian in garden centre. Above and beyond. Helpful thanks.
K. K.
Bought too much wallpaper and they were happy to refund the extra rolls. Nice place, friendly and informative staff too.
S. M.
Good selection of DIY materials. What let's it down is it can be a nightmare to get into the car park at lunch time or dinner time as lot's of people queue up for the KFC drivethrough
M. M.
Always very helpful staff, good stock of products. Always have what you want.
J. B.
Good service, in the kitchen area.staff very helpful, especially Beth,as she help to design my kitchen I,v bought.thankyoh.
W. S.
I had difficulty in finding an item. One of the staff was very helpful, found and helped to have it cut
W. H.
Just like to say a big thank you to Chris Shaw always very helpful.
D. G.
B&Q floor staff: young chap in lighting dept sadly not very knowledgeable when I asked where to find a starter for a flourescent light. At least sent me to right dept. Middle-aged chap in electricals took me straight to the item. Wondering slightly why the starters weren't with the flourescent tubes but hidden in amongst random electrical stuff.
W. T.
Great things they have done so people are still able to shop safely at the present moment with the sad times we are living in atm
E. C.
There used to be someone greeting you when you walked into the store, there used to be lots of store assistants, there was neither and the one or two I found weren't very helpful or knowledgeable.
R. S.
Went to B&Q to look at a kitchen re vamp
No customer toilets so we left. B&Q lost a sale.
m. c.
I can usually get most things I need here, although sometimes they can be expensive.
Good overall though
A. B.
Poor staff knowledge of products in their department. But they were polite...... We did however find what we wanted..
M. C.
No queue today so pouring rain not a problem. Usual helpful service at paint mixing desk
S.
B&Q OK but but but the carpark entry/exit is a joke.. bad design. Avoid friday afternoon because everyone goes KFC and the traffic is soooooooo bad.
S. L.
Most things you need stocked...if you've the time to find it as it is a huge store.
M. L.
Ample Parking. Gets very busy weekends and bank holidays.
It can be difficult to get in to the car park as KFC drive thru can sometimes block the entrance.
P. E.
As usual great store all ways get what I need when ever I visit. Staff are helpfull. only let down are the tills.
D. H.
Very helpful plus if you go to the trading entrance they give away free sand & cement
M. L.
Nicely laid out, friendly and helpful staff and they allowed my assistance dog in with me.
S. B.
Went here on a Saturday afternoon.. Perhaps not the quietest time. Still well organised got what we wanted.
S. K.
Large store with good selection of stock. Sometimes difficult to find staff members to help
J. P.
Some bargains to be had, clean. Staff around to help but not required today.
K. R.
Great decent sized store with everything you'd want for your next home improvement project.
D.
Been here about 30 times in 3 weeks for literally everything under the sun for my house. Easy to find everything and super helpful and nice staff.
R. S.
Very helpful staff, my first visit here and I was very impressed
G. H.
Click & collect was first class. Products ask ready for collection
D. L.
Unable to get replacement cabinet handles for a cabinet bought there even though it's still on display!!!!
h. r.
Sells a wide range of products from home to garden .reasonable prices. Plenty of parking spaces.cafe inside.
.
N. S.
After the failure of Taunton and Bristol stores to be helpful it was great to go to Plymouth where they had the stock and had it ready for when I got there. That is professional and not like the other ones I visited.
D. G.
Great range of product, helpful and knowledgeable staff, good location with plenty of parking.
D. G.
The discovery of vinyl clip flooring on a recent adventure here actually made quite moist.
