Reviews of B&Q Reading

The B&Q on the Gateway Retail Park is a huge store. The store pretty much has everything you could wish for. Plants and shrubs etc are always good quality so this is really a mini garden centre along with everything else. Men (and women) can stand and daydream in the tool isles. Women (and men) can stand and daydream in soft furnishings. I do both and the garden centre. Yep you can pretty much get anything you want here for your DIY home or garden project. There are now updated self scan checkouts that work well. The staff are usually friendly and pretty cool. Recommended.
Tip: Click & Collect and Customer Services are just inside the main entrance and to the right.

A great B&Q ! Coming close to restoring my faith in the chain. If only all B&Q stores were like this one... well organised, stocked, right sized stock in the right bays & friendly, helpful staff. Successful trip.

The any any everything stop for home and DIY.
It can at times be a task to find just what you want, given the wide range of stuff available and area to cover.. given too, that shop assistants are not always available. That, however, doesn't detract much from the overall positive shopping experience. Well worth a visit.
P. H.
The cashier was a lovely, helpful lady, couldn't be more friendly and professional, would go to her again. The gentleman on the fires he was not helpful, found him very unhelpful. The 4 star's I'm giving is for the cashier. She should have a reward, because I feel that she was willing to do more than she needed.
L.
Had a cheaper floor steamer then Currys so that's decent. Had Philips hue bulbs too
D. C.
Had what I wanted in stock and a very helpful member of staff assisted me in located it. The bloke on the TradePoint desk was miserable. So essentially, no problem with the store, but your experience will depend which member of staff you deal with
A. M.
Vast warehouse store, so can be difficult to find less common items. But staff are knowledgeable and will direct you. Also if you use website or app to check availability of an item, search will return you it's aisle number location.
J. G.
Big box B&Q store, has most items in stock very good for all your DIY needs, plenty of parking and helpful staff, would avoid on match days as roads around it a are extremely busy.
J. A.
Love using the app whilst in store..so handy telling you what Isle you need..there's just so much you don’t need but want!
R. Y.
THE best B&Q I've been to. Such a good selection and the DIY man's Mecca... We always come away with things we didn't know we needed... This visit was to secure our garden for our new family member...😀🥂
G. S.
Some staff are extremely disengaged. It's not that they're unhelpful, just not really interested in offering helpful advice. So, decided will only buy from that store if I had no alternative option

BEST B AND Q IN UK AMAZING PEOPLE . THANKS JESS , CHRIS , DONNA, ALISON. RUTH, VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL ,AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE
J. K.
Busy as normal but plenty of parking. Feels well stocked. Staff we spoke to were helpful in finding the items we needed.
J.
Well run B&Q the manager has this store running expertly with very attentive happy staff. Would recommend Reading store to anyone but don't bother with the Basingstoke store a different kettle of fish!!
J. B.
I bought many of my DIY goods here over many years, including my mother's kitchen. I remember one time, emailing B&Q Helpdesk about rag-rolling painting and emulsion special effects. When I arrived at the paint counter at B&Q, I found that the person serving was the very person who had read and replied to my email. Thusm she understood my requirements EXACTLY and was able to give very specialist advice and we bought absolutely the right products foe the paint effect desired. Attached are photos of my mother's (very small) kitchen, which I purchased here.
M. H.
A great store but all the sales items are not really a bargain. It’s difficult to find someone on the floor to help and answer questions about a product even when the store is nearly empty!
A. “. s. S.
Assistant was waiting by her till for customers, easiest exit to b&q I've ever had.
J. M.
Good stock of furniture. Not enough sales staff on the floor.
I have to order on line. Ready made furniture and delivery would be much better.
M. D.
It's a huge store. Feels fairly impersonal, a feeling confirmed when I went to get sheet material cut. TradePoint staff said they would call someone... who never arrived... then waved me vaguely in the direction of the saw mill. On my way over I asked another staff member who told me it was out of action. Why no communication to the front desk? Went to Jewson nearby who could not have been more accommodating and got the job done straight away.
T. C.
A big store with a great selection of timber, drove from Oxford as these guys had the 6 different sizes I needed. Obviously you have to select your thinner pieces carefully as many are warped, but I got what I needed. Pretty much everything was where it should be with a price, so much better than homebase!
r. r.
Sales Assistant was extremely helpful when explaining strengths of UPVC cleaners.
Price matched this product with competitors and kindly obtained managers' permission to do the same on basin taps I required saving me a total of almost £17.
Thankyou,
RR
A. H.
It was buzy at B & Q today. The car park was nearly full, and everyone was out buying for their DIY projects. We bought a small cupboard for the loo, a cabin hook for the outside door and a towel rail. We also looked at paint colours for the dining room.
T. B.
You can find a lot of useful, cheap products. I go there many times when I need something urgent
C. H.
Lots of range, much more than anywhere else local however staff are a little slow to offer help.
C. M.
Wide aisles, not too busy even on a Saturday morning and great choice of goods, but still empty spaces, eg some light bulbs out if stock, some hardware items eg L hooks out of stock
P.
Great to find what you need and friendly positive employees
K. R.
Just LOVE this place as it sells everything for your DIY, home, furnishings, lock's, timber etc.
D. S.
Excellent store, got what we needed after going to 4 other shops.
A. P.
It’s a really good store if you know what you want. However turned up today to get some material and also get it cut. The person in front told me that he had pleaded to get his material cut and unfortunately the person operating the machinery would not cut my sheets. Apparently the sign said wood cutting from 5pm. Not very useful for a business but luckily found a new supplier around the corner who did everything I needed.
S. T.
A DIY heaven on earth.
Or hell if you don't like DIY and are forced to go here because a door handle broke or you need a new light switch.
Its very very BIG and might take a while to find what you want. Best to check online then go into the store because for everything you can think of there are about a zillion variants and ONE of them will be the exact thing you wanted but were unable to express in a web browser.
As the store is so big, don't expect the staff, most of whom will be students on weekend jobs and the like, to know what you're after and where it'll be, best get a rough idea and figure it out yourself.
Plenty of parking at Reading Gate but as there's a roundabout inside the entrance and people just freeze in confusion at roundabouts these days, might take a while to park.
M. S.
As you would epect, plenty of choice and good space to walk around. Prices seem to be going up
E. T.
Recently moved house so we've been coming to b&q a lot. Staff are always really helpful and genuinely give their time to help and suggest ways of doing things yourself
D. M.
Always found this a good store 5yrs ago plus when I lived in the area, returned to do a bit of work for my son around the corner and still the store was as I remembered. Well done B&Q for consistency...staff were very helpful finding even the smallest of items.
A.
Everything you need there. Sometimes stuff is cheaper if available in screwfix or toolstation
T.
Good shop helpful staff. Plenty of items available
R. Y.
Amazing product range. Found the perfect curtains. Will return with The Boss to decide and buy some...🎨🤭
t. m.
Huge store well spaced and clean and tidy, staff are easy to talk to
S. D.
Staff are very welcome and helpful. I returned something with the wrong receipt and still no issues, you can't beet them for assistance. I've spent loads since I bough my house and everything is excellent
M. W.
This was a good trip. Found everything I was looking for and went to the checkouts. They've made it a bit more controlled by having one queue for everyone and having lines to help with keeping your distance. Unfortunately public still do not understand the covid rules but it is okay. The queue moved quickly and I was out the door pretty fast. Having a Costa outside made life just a bit sweeter after a good shopping spree 😊
D. S.
Really frustrating that B&Q have not reopened their toilets, and from the looks of things may be planning the closures to be permanent. It was fun to browse around and think of new ideas, but now I just get what I need (if I can't find it somewhere else) and get out. Takes the humanity out of DIY.☹
D. P.
Always have what I need and staff very helpful and friendly.
R. A.
Big in the diy business...you can get anything here.
T. M.
Plumbing section not a lot of choice, the timber cutting section was closed ,electric cables sold in big reels for somebody just doing a small job not a lot of help could be smaller lengths which would be a help
P. M.
Pop in to b&q yesterday looking for paint, and laminate flooring. I got talking to a young lad called Tim. He was very helpful and showed me and advice me what was better for me as I have a dog. He a credit to your store, and have you thought of putting up employe of the month. So people are visiting the store can see. I wish there was more people like Tim who take the time.
L. C.
Wasn't too crowded, there were sanitisation stations for your trolley. Cannot recall sanitisation stations dotted around the shop floor though.
Thought they'd be able to cut wood to size for me but they don't, the best they could do was lend me a hand saw to cut the wood onsite myself.
M. A.
Found what we wanted. Good selection of plants.
I. W.
Well stocked, with a wide selection of products, great kitchen and bathroom displays, good selection of paints, plus onsite paint mixing. Garden area well stocked. Very helpful and knowledgeable staff on hand
Plenty of free parking.
M. p.
Good parking. Had most things I needed. But the " timber cut to size machine" has been out of action for months now. I think they should have sorted it by now....
S. K.
All for household bits, garden bits, electrical bits, anything you need you get...
P. G.
Really good welcome and informative staff, didn't have what we were looking for!
V. T.
Big shop. So nice and friendly staff. Always ready to help. Big selection of very fresh indoor and outdoor flowers. Big choice of pots and hanging boxes and baskets.
Toilet is closed for customers.

Usually go all the time, never had a problem as much, but today was supposed to recieve a delivery from B&Q (Although I have ordered before and Never had a problem). As the delivery was supposed to be for today in the morning it did not come, as I waited for the delivery to come I called B&Q and was reassured it will come today & didn't come, I will not be ordering again & will get a refunded & will buy elsewhere.
Update: As i spoken to the customer services & Manager, I was given a little compensation for the waste of my time, The item has been re arranged for delivery & came on time, Unfortunately one part of the delivery was correct but the other half wasn't, as I have specifically asked for what I wanted before ordering, but instead was given something completely diffrent at time of Delivery, The 2 delivery drivers also had the audacity to tell me what was right, (Advising me that I can still use this product, although he don't understand as they are just delivering the item, in which is utterly disrespectful). As I've asked to return the item's they claimed we can't & you need to call them, As i called them I was put through many different departments & due to this I had enough & had to go in store which further delayed my time & my colleagues time also, after the situation was recitifed And them making a mistake. I then had another delivery coming through where they will take the wrong goods & That i will be given the correct item.
Update 2: After having to wait another 2 days the order has been corrected goods has been delivered, & the delivery driver admitting he was wrong😌
Although this caused a lot of waste of time & was very fustarting I don't think I'll be ordering for home delivery from B&Q again.

I never write reviews but these guys deserve it ! I went into B&Q reading today ready to give up on my latest project .when I met the kindest member of staff ever ! Nikki she knew exactly what I was talking about and how to achieve it . Nikki explained the guy that works that piece equipment wasn't in until later today and would I mind popping back . So I did Nikki was waiting around past her shift to make sure I got what I needed !!! Brandon was amazing done everything exactly how I wanted (I could have cried) nothing was to much he was so so helpful he had some great advice for my project (showed me an easier way) lifted everything loaded everything and all in all made my day .BOTH Nikki and Brandon from the trade point area are a credit to you B&Q I've never experienced anything like it before . From this moment on I will never use another hardware store you've earnt a loyal customer today .
R. J.
Took ages to find what I wanted . Staff uninterested 🤔👎
C. s.
Went to B & Q Reading yesterday evening it was very quiet.Needed help with lifting and two young Lads who were working down same aisle as we were collecting our building materials came straight to our aid without having to be asked.Had everything we needed for our project 😀
K. T.
Large DIY store, pretty much everything you need to do most DIY jobs, staff are helpful but not always knowledgeable about use of products for DIY projects,
Good wheelchair parking and store access, unfortunately customers toilets are blocked off with a pallet to prevent access, had to make a dash to McDonald's at the other end with a desperate toddler, hence the missing star
A. B.
Helpful staff in a manned check-out.
M. D.
Good quality products.
But a bit hard to find stuff, and staff aren't too helpful with that.
They said to find isle (105), there is no sign for that, you just have to guess its the one on the side wall.
P. B.
Big store fully stocked good range of products
M. T. (.
It's so big it's impossible to find what you need. I was sent to the builders yard to find a bricklayers trowel, but it was in one of the tool aisles.
N. K.
Immense. Interestingly had to get 16 feet long planks in the car whole! because the wood cutter in store was not working again. Car looked like a tank with the wood out the sun roof though!!!!
A. K.
As always great choice and leaving with all I needed and more (plants, there is always a great selection here). Very good service if you ask for any help. Recommended highly
a. t.
Very good location and access, including to some "easy" food solutions. Plenty of parking. The selection of products is fantastic and it does include a nice selection for gardening as well. The staff is what will make the difference. They are very well prepared and they will try their best to help. Over the course of last year, we've been here probably 10 times and we keep going back because of the staff and excellent product range. Team - keep it up!! You are amazing.
h. P.
The only thing is you can never find anyone for help, and when you do they say they don't know it not there Apartment don't even say they will get someone.got very Expensive to .
K. H.
Very good for general building materials in stock when everwhere else had run out because of the latest virus. Fetching mortar for a small job.
Generally hand tools all gone except the expensive ones. Good place for Generally checking stock levels online before you visit.
D. N.
One of the largest DIY stores in the region. The variety of products is huge. Personalised services like custom paint, kitchen design, wood cutting are great. Friendly staff and speedy service. Car park is free and there is a Hertz 24/7 van that can be prebooked. Their Blooma products for gardening are good and cheaper than the equivalent branded ones.
R. C.
Have been visiting B&q throughout lockdown and always had the materials I needed for home improvements. Staff are always willing to help and are very friendly.
M. M.
Timber moldings were twice the price of Gibbs and dandy
C. “. H.
Only one operator to cut sheet materials and he was at lunch. So went to nearby coffee shop.
F. T.
Big place should have all your needs
P. A.
Good range of stock, helpful staff
P. P.
Ok for the things I wanted prices ok but wood has gone up a lot
S. D.
Great for range of products offered (we used to visit a lot before you could check out everything on the internet), but the parking is always a nightmare at weekends. Well not the parking itself but rather getting in and out of it.
G. B.
Good general purpose store for most things plus a good sized carpark.
A. G.
Massive DIY store, seemed to have everything possible.
S. F.
Very good selection. Staff helpful. Don't forget your trolley or basket, long queues so don't over load your arms.
M. V.
Everything I needed they had in store and staff were very helpful, have noticed the prices of certain products have gone up massively.
P. E.
Plenty of products to choose from and helpful staff
C. B.
I'm sure that if something diy is made then it's for sale in this huge store. Plenty of helpful staff on hand if you have any questions and the prices are competitive. Huge car park and sensible social distancing and sanitiser stations. I had not been for a while but its worth the trip even if you are travelling some distance.
R. S.
It's a builders merchant for the public. We'll stocked. Helpful staff.. There are queues at busy times. Loads of parking and Trade Point
M. T.
As good as B&Q stores go it's a role model for other stores. Never have they not had what I needed in store, ranging from paints to BBQs & those finite screws for the little jobs at home.
During Covid19 they adapted well to the restrictions imposed on them & still delivered great service. Being able to fulfil the other half's DIY needs & B&Q being there was a little life saviour.
Thanks B&Q.
N. G.
Checked stock online before I went, but none of the items were there. Bought cheaper alternatives that will keep me busier for longer. Staff were helpful, as always, hence a 3 star, otherwise I would have pushed it down to a 1 star.
s. s.
I really enjoyed B&Q reading. It reminded me of the times that I had spent in the USA. It was, in comparison, well stocked and I was able to find what I had been looking for in Abingdon for a while now. I was served by a lovely lady who was with it and on the ball. Her name Dawn-D.
C. C.
As any other stores, prices are sometimes good and sometimes meh.. but rather than that fair priced, fast ish tills and helpful personnel.
R. J.
Been to this store a few times in the last couple of weeks, always busy but not always enough staff to cope with large queue up the store. This then has had an effect on the stock on shelves across most ranges unfortunately especially DIY.
S. P.
One can get everything there, good shop
G. K.
Good layout, busy but if you needed help staff are hard to find
H. G.
Broad selection of DIY tools and supplies - generally has what I've needed but worth a look on their website first. Very helpful staff who offer advice on best supplies for a job if your confused, & they have been great helping me locate stock - I seem to get lost a lot!! I like the reserve, pay and collect feature - much quicker than trying to find stuff myself, & could collect when convenient.
S. V.
Big shop where you can find anything you need in terms of gardening, housing, etc. They never seem to go short on products so you can rely on is. The only reason I did not gave the last star is because as many times I went there, it seems that they never have visible Staff to assist you (a tip for improving)
T. L.
Good place for selecting decoration materials
P. D.
Very helpful staff. Would be even better if they had big signs to tell people where to queue for click & collect, returns or entry to store.
E. T.
It's a standard B&Q with everything you'd expect! Plenty of parking, garden centre, paint, building, wood cutting service, decorating, general DIY... There's also a small cafe about half way through the store which is helpful.
We usually use the self checkouts, even though they drive us slightly mad! You can't use contactless and the voice over is very loud and not controllable.
There's a 45 day returns policy which is helpful. The returns section is just inside the entrance and there's not usually a long queue. We've also used click and collect here which was fast and easy.
R. B.
It's big, usually with a good selection of diy, gardening and some building work. Staff friendly and helpful. Prices generally now better than in the past but it's still best to shop around. I had lots of problems a few years ago with missing and incorrect items in a large kitchen purchase so I'm wary of anything I can't pick up from the shelves but otherwise all good.
S. B.
Fairly easy to park.good selection of things to buy.good staff.
P. W.
Compared to my local B&Q this one is cleaner and has helpful staff. Plus the outside free wood offcut bin is a brilliant idea.
M. W.
I would give 10 stars to this store. Massive parking, great staff and a huge choice of items to choose from. They have a garden centre, timber cutting service and builders depot as well.
S. W.
Just been to B and Q in Reading and cannot praise Thomas on the paint mixing section highly enough. He was so helpful and couldn't do enough for us, it is a joy to spend money with your company when you have got staff members like that.
C. D.
Great range of products and well stocked. Plenty of staff on hand to help you, even on a Sunday. We were disappointed that there wasn't a bigger range of baths in the bathroon section but the choice of showers was fantastic.
The range of kitchens was brilliant as was the range of paints and colours.
D. S.
Everything you need is here.
Staff helpful.
O. S.
Came here during covid restrictions... Couldn't fault them... Keeping to the rules and still providing great service...
Definitely my first choice when it comes to getting DIY bits and bobs...
R. S.
the staff where rubbish I did find one young lad that was good wish I had his name ask 5 others and thay said dont no will find some bodey after 15 mins and no bodey came I spent 140 pound and the 2 in the trade part were very good and would them 5 stars
G. M.
Store is huge! It has everything you could possibly won't to do up your home. A great paint selection with paint matching to offer. We got a blanket matched up for our nursey bedroom. Parking is free and trollies are on hand. Staff are friendly and helpful. You can get lost.. always go online and compare prices first. No longer do over 60s discount so that's why 4 stars.
M. L.
Contrary to any poor customer service reviews, I need to stress how valuable I feel Arthur is for the business. He couldn't have been more helpful to me and my partner while we were buying sheet material. The skills and knowledge will be lost when he goes and I feel passionately that the store should hire more ex trades instead of inexperienced teenagers that would rather be anywhere else. Thanks for everything Arthur
H.
Member of staff that greeted us at the door rang to the back so another member of staff would be ready to greet us to swap out our patio gas. Really slick operation!
S. R.
I visited B &Q Reading store tonight in order to buy a lawn mower. I was referred to Garden Centre Manager Harry. I have never met a more personable, knowledgeable, polite & helpful employee. He not only found the item I required but also gave detailed advice. He then went over & above in assembling the product & then taking it to my car. He made my whole shopping experience very welcoming.
A. W.
Went in for one specific item. Online told me where it was in store and that 53 were in stock.
It was not in the aisle as described online and 3 staff members couldn't find it either. Eventually a staff member had to go to their warehouse to discover it.
D. S.
Staff helpfulness is hit and miss. I was directed to the wrong end of store for an item. Some staff our pleasant others are disinterested. Customer service can be a pain depending who is on desk - friendliness and helpfulness might be weather dependent?
J. S.
Really positive experience, a member of staff called Lamarr went above and beyond to be helpful on what was obviously a busy day already.
P. V.
Bought garden.plants.for my winter garden good variety of plants Seems bit under staffed couldn't see any on to help. But painting section was well organized and helped to find correct item we were looking
K. A.
I would like to thank the staff at the Reading Gate store for their help today. I had purchased a doorhandle earlier in the day and there was an issue with the product. Everyone I spoke to went above and beyond, especially Chris. Thank you guys🙂
S. P.
Using the b&q app is very helpful when locating items within the store. It gives you the sock level aisle number. Plenty of DIY products to choose from
i. s. (. P. S.
ideal place to shop for all things for home and garden incredible. Always return and find exactly what i require.
C. F.
Great selection and friendly staff.
Easy to socially distance with wide aisles and plenty of space
N. C.
Very helpful staff if you can find one
P. A.
Located the garden sticks much easier than I expected, and the queue at the till was quicker than it first looked.
K. N.
All your DIY requirements with self service check outs
S. H.
Standard B&Q but this one has some good plants and pots at the moment as well.
D. M.
Truly an amazing experience. Everyone working there had a smile on their face. I could definitely live at B&Q with ease.
A. A. Z.
Most staff at B&Q Reading are excellent. The best is the person who cuts wood. Very helpful. That is why I shop here. Prices are not attractive. See feel buy is one advantage.
M. H.
Has been better. Limited stock now and not enough staff. New staff members often have no senior staff present
P.
Good store for home and garden maintenance stuff. Just like Home Depot in the US. Very neat planning of the layout. Found the prices on a higher side though
F. A.
Nice to have the store open again, but unfortunately some shoppers don't 'get' distancing (or choose not to) and also ignore one way shopping flow markings. Better to go to Screwfix if you can find what you want there (they have excellent Covid management!)
C. M.
Had a few things that I couldn't find as not very popular items the staff helped no end and very polite.
M. E.
Excellent diy store with a large garden section and merchants section. Staff are knowledable and friendly, the range is pretty good and returns are easy. You can also do click and collect and home deliveries, delivery cost is very reasonable. This is one the largest b & q's in West Berkshire so the stock and range is very good. There is ample parking but entrance and exiting can get tricky sometimes as there's a weird speed bump roundabout with keep clear hatched sections which most people seem to ignore.
D. T.
It's B&Q. A fairly soul destroying experience, and but everything was in stock and it wasn't overly busy so the tedium of D.I.Y. was kept to a minimum.
L. L.
Good selection of products, very surprised that it was not busy (went on a Saturday afternoon)
D. M.
Truly an amazing experience. Everyone working there had a smile on their face. I could definitely live at B&Q with ease.
Z. S.
Good shop and there are plenty of goods most are good quality, obviously the prices are as well. You might get it cheaper online, but the chance is not the same quality and will spend some money again to fix it. Helpful staff always, when you manage to find one, sometimes is a bit of challenge :-).
A. T.
One of the bigger branches, good selection. They lose one point because they made a song and dance about an LED security light that I wanted to exchange (for the exact same model bacause it was faulty). They made me waith while one of their electricians tested it before concluding that it was (surprise) faulty.
E. M. H. t.
Overall good. Find all diy tools and building tools . Very nice on sale wallpapers
A. T.
Standard B&Q store with all the DIY and Garden bits you normally expect, could do with some self service tills, it always seems a little understaffed on the tills.
M. P.
Your standard B&Q, very large with a large outdoor area with gardening supplies, everything you need for your DIY needs
E. P.
Went there this morning and we were lucky enough to get in before the queues began. One way system and social distancing enforced which dies mean you end up walking further but manageable.
L. M.
They have virtually everything you need here for DIY and garden centre needs. They also have a good range of qualities - so you can get value ranges as well as higher quality items. There's a good showroom for kitchens and bathrooms, and their furniture is a good mid-range of quality.
T. H.
Can find all home DIY stuff in one place
K. L.
The staff are very nice. They do recycle the empty flower pot, which is very useful and environmental friendly.
The flowers are not very good there. It may be because of the hot weather. Most of the hanging basket are dying.
P.
Friendly and helpful staff. Just be aware that clicking, paying and receiving an email saying that everything is ready doesn't mean that it will be available. Missing items are still charged but refunded - not ideal and marginally illegal!
M. S.
Can't really fault this as far as DIY stores are concerned. Easily has the largest range of items available locally under one roof. There's normally plenty of parking but has been known to get busy on match days - which also has a bearing on access on local roads.
Inside is a small coffee shop and customer toilets to the rear of what is currently the lighting section.
S. B.
It's B&Q what could possibly go wrong? Well... The exit is fine, but getting in was a bit of a mare. Not clear how to get in a got caught by a gaggle of pensioners going wrong way which made old dear panic.
T. F.
A good selection of goods at.far prices The disappointment though is that unless you spend over £250 there is no discount for trade
D. T.
Had a really great experience today, and Peter was so helpful! Trying to locate glass shelving, and he was looking online to get the stock to Reading, when it would next be in stock and where it was available in nearby stores. Even though I had to drive to Farnborough, he very kindly called them to reserve them for me to pick up today :) We don't see enough staff in retail like Peter, so B&Q Reading Gate Retail Park, he is a keeper!!!
m. s.
Good service polite staff 👍
B. H.
B & Q Warehouse have a vast range of products. Unfortunately they were out of stock of the items I wanted and was told that they would not be back in stock imminently.
j. G.
Good variety, they just need to make sure all their live plants are watered, I found a lot of dried out plants.
J. N.
Always good stock of everything. Friendly helpful staff. Not as cheap as screwfix or toolstation. Loadsa parking.
J. V.
Nice big store with loads of goodies, but everything seemed very expensive when compared to other stores & online
A. R.
Nothing to complain about really, whether you shop in store, use click and collect or return process, everything makes sense. Staff is always helpful
D. F.
Ruth at the tile was very friendly and helpful
C. N.
Couldn't find electricians tape. Colleagues had no idea where it was too. Went home without tape 😪
A. D.
I'd lost my mobile phone, and thought I might have left it at B&Q's store in Reading Gate retail park. One of their staff, Lorna, dropped everything to help me look for it, retracing my route through the store with me and ringing my phone to try and locate it. Eventually, we found it, and I couldn't be more grateful to be reunited with my precious photos. Thank you, Lorna!
C. G.
It wasn't busy, every one was social distancing and wearing masks
Very impressive
J.
Always good, sometimes ridiculously busy. Staff are always helpful, can get some good bargains down the end by the trade entrance
W. H.
It's OK. A lot of people only semi-engaged whether customers or staff. Seemed a very dull box-shifting operation.
B. H.
Plenty of staff to help find things. Stocks were good. A good experience.
N. C.
Wood cutting service is very good but can be very slow, only had one person in front of me was having enough wood cut to build a bloody Ark, had to wait 45mins for one cut.
Should really be a reasonable limit and stick to it some of us don't have all day.
C. F.
Great selection and friendly staff.
Easy to socially distance with wide aisles and plenty of space
P. C.
I love B&Q. I just wish they had more sales so I could buy tools!
C. M.
I got everything I wanted at b&q for my kitchen to be finished staff was helpful and the lady who served me was very polite and help
C. F.
It's OK, dose what you need as far as DIY goes. Plenty of parking and a wide selection of items - it's a big place. Can be a pain to get to when the stadium is being used (or diging up the road again).
W. D.
Ordered online and part of the order was missing and that product was damaged which was not great. My wife emailed them and that is when they showed some of the best customer service i have ever seen. The next day someone from the store got in contact and said they would be out to deliver the order again and remove the broken item.Amanda arrived shortly after with the order and full apology and even had cleaning supplies with her to clean any accident that had occurried.Luckily none had so thanks Amanda
H. H.
Good diy super store with all the needs for home repairs and also gardening needs. Got car 🚘 parking.
L. D. J.
Visited today, needed some help / advice about strimmers, batteries chargers, John and Jenny just brilliant, helpful and friendly, nothing too much trouble. Thank you so much will visit again without a doubt.
G. V.
Needs A clean the Dust is so thick on the Stock Good Sevice Happy Staff
J. A. B.
My favourite B&Q. It's a bit further for me to travel but worth it. Plenty of range and some excellent clearance sales. Great parking, toilets and a saw-station
A. G.
B&Q is great store. Recently brought our kitchen units from here and the service was very good. Delivery was quite quick and the guys delivering were very helpful
P. A.
Located the garden sticks much easier than I expected, and the queue at the till was quicker than it first looked.
R. D.
Great product range. Some items are not so well indicated. Too few knowledgeable staff on the shop floor when we visited the store. Almost felt like I was inconveniencing the staff by asking for assistance.
K.
I have been a fan of B&Q for years but today's visit gave me the impression that it's not quite the store it used to be. Usual range of products, drab kitchen showroom, busy car park but store almost empty. Prices about the same as my local garden centre and not competitive on general stuff, and to add to the disappointment, no restrooms open and they don't accept contactless payments.
C. S.
as always very helpful friendly staff ' credit to B&Q
B. T.
Good shop every thing I need
C. H.
Good service very helpful staff
J. C.
Great selection of garden paints in fantastic colours. So glad this store is open again!! I missed them.
P. G.
I like B and Q, they are open nice and early and have a good range of products.
H. L.
Staff here always look and act as if they'd rather be else where. Usualy have the product's needed
L. A.
Social distancing was hard (particularly by floor staff) but otherwise we enjoyed our visit and will definitely be back
A. A.
In the lock down it was open thankyou
D. R.
Great staff 5/5. Cheap, poor quality Chinesium products 1/5. Stick to the brand names but you'll get overcharged compared with elsewhere.
G. C.
There was a lack of tester pots but that was expected seeing as the country has nothing else to do but DIY at the moment. Staff were helpful and cheery despite having to work during a pandemic 🤷🏻♀️
A. J.
Very useful and frienly store. always happy to help.
T.
Excellent customer service, especially the staff on the checkouts.
M. K.
Though the goods available are pretty good, the price is on the higher side. And overall service is on the down.
It is very difficult to find people in aisles to help. But the limited one that are available are good at what they do and are hard working.
N. S.
Quick visit for paint charts. Easy parking on entry but lots of traffic on exit affecting entire car park.
D. “. K.
A great range of DIY goods, friendly staff and easy to navigate
J. L.
Shed dwellers, thumb bashers, restorers, tinkerers, fettlers and footerers REJOICE, here is our aircraft hanger of heaven. 'Pic n mix' nuts, bolts and washers with varying bag sizes, what more can i say? This is the home projecteers eat all you want and still find room for more.
And the people are as friendly as you like.
R. P.
Most things you want are stocked. Big open airy building good for mitigating coronavirus. Plenty of car parking.
v. w. r.
Quite a few lamps without prices. No self service working. 2 tills only. Christmas decorations were nice and the shop was tidy and free of clutter.
S. W.
Called in for some materials on sat 23rd May, and although there was a long que the staff were very good with instructing where to go and keeping everyone aware of guidelines
C. O.
Good shop for all your DIY & garden requirements
A. H.
Staff member in tiles department extremely helpful. Ref. What to use for tile cleaning .
.
M. P.
I use these quite often for many DIY projects. It's very rare they don't have whtt I need and I often find a lot of the staff very knowledgeable and helpful. Reasonably priced too and a huge range of everything DIY and garden related
A. J.
Big B&Q. Lots of stock, timber yard, plants etc. The car park can be a pain to get out of a lot of the time as it's a very busy retail park. But better than the Basingstoke branch so worth the pain.
B. d. G.
All the staff in this store were really helpful and friendly when we shopped there today. Really positive experience - worth saying :) Plus we found the products we wanted. Thanks B&Q
A. L. m.
If you are a DIY fun, you will never be disappointed with BnQ, great members of staff and very helpful too
A. K.
Couldn't find any decent spray bottles,
Only one's in stock was the £1.00 ones.
R. M.
Shout to Tony and Victor, big help today. Thank you kindly. Not sure about the old fella in the trade point department tho, needs retraining I think....
T. B. B.
Had no door wedges or portable led lights in stock after being sent all round the warehouse, however, jolly mean was lovely at the till
C. M.
Overpriced but well stocked and not too busy despite being there late friday aftetnoon
i. s. (. P. S.

S. N.
Biggest and best DIY store in the area.... Only lost two stars because they've taken away the reduced area.
l. a.
Always a good selection of products and helpful staff
C. H.
Typical B&Q warehouse outlet. Interior is well sign posted allowing you to find what you are looking without getting completely lost. Would checking online first to confirm they sell what you want.
D.
The reading store is very well organised, I felt very safe as they are using very strict measures and they are very helpful and polite, we done to ALL THE STAFF and THANKYOU 🌈

P. D. H.
Was buying sheet goods and needed a fair number of cuts done. Staff were very helpful, got all my cuts done no problem for no extra charge, which really saved me a lot of time and effort!
J. K.
Has everything in. Spacious parking and very friendly staff
S. H.
Standard B&Q but this one has some good plants and pots at the moment as well.
E. H.
Good selection, lack of stuff, it take 30 minutes to find someone to help you, half of their stuff is not properly skilled, good parking
C. M.
Helpful staff mixing paint and showing where paper paste was and finding a trolley.
p. w.
i would like to give a big shout for Lorna from reading branch for her excellent customer service my wife and i received last Sunday whilst looking for wood flooring, thanks again Lorna saved me a lot of hassle.
I. I.
This is a fab branch of B&Q. I have been to many and this one is top 3 for sure. Always has everything you need and the staff are very helpful

K. G.
Not to bad bad. Quite deer on some products that I needed but they had it on stock. Eg outdoor paint
T. C.
Found what I was looking for first time. Going later in the evening meant that the store was relatively quiet and there were no queues at the check-out. Great.
T. M.
Very helpful staff.
R. S.
Not crowded, nice and helpful employees, the same old things around not a big variety or new things which sometimes is good 😁.
R. W.
Went out their way to help me get the items I needed. Thank you for your awesome work guys!
M. B.
Helpful staff, nice and clean store, can always get what we want.
B. H.
B & Q Warehouse have a vast range of products. Unfortunately they were out of stock of the items I wanted and was told that they would not be back in stock imminently.
C. M.
No staff to help. Everything is out of stock. Needs a good manager to organise things.
D. N.
I believe it is one of the better DIY superstores around. Tend to get what you want at reasonable prices
s. l.
Smooth
F. A.
Nice to have the store open again, but unfortunately some shoppers don't 'get' distancing (or choose not to) and also ignore one way shopping flow markings. Better to go to Screwfix if you can find what you want there (they have excellent Covid management!)
S. D.
Good selection, friendly staff
L.
Very friendly and helpful staff
J. A. B.
My favourite B&Q. It's a bit further for me to travel but worth it. Plenty of range and some excellent clearance sales. Great parking, toilets and a saw-station
M. A.
Some things difficult to find but got the main items I needed
D. S.
Always good, not crowded, plenty of staff. Got what we wanted. Quick and easy.

K. D.
Helpful and friendly staff.Everything under one roof.
S. T.
Huge B&Q with lots more stock varieties than Basingstoke. Staff were very helpful when I couldn't find what I was looking for.
M. K.
One of the most organised places I've been too that are passionate about keeping everyone one safe during covid ... well.done guys
P. E.
It is what it is. A massive B&Q
-1 star, as it can be slow to get in and out of the car park and the plants are not the healthiest.
B. V.
Very friendly staff, always willing to help
P. B. '.
Helpful staff, got what I needed to build a small utility with sink.
A. W.
Well stocked but not always easy to find things.
S. C.
I like B&Q but I can't give it 5 stars due to the really badly designed car traffic flow to get in and out. What a mess... Planners need to go back to school on this one!!!
K. T.
Nice and clean always got what I need in stock
S. V. N.
Always nice to go whether gardening, looking for new kitchens, bathrooms, picture frames etc. All DIY - ask friendly staff if you cannot find it. Great place.
F. M.
The staff member in the bathroom area was amazing, he went out of his way to help us.
S. C.
Diy lots of options
C. B.
Good size store, most often has good stock levels. Staff generally friendly, helpfully and reasonably knowledgeable.
W. A.
A well stocked store some times surprising what you can find.
A. W.
Its B&Q! Not much to add really... Good takeaway food accessibility lol
M. V.
Usual story with these places. You have to find the right person to get the help you need. Many very helpful workers here. Sadly there is a correlation between age and helpfulness. Older the better.
M. L.
It was great, they trying to keep the customer safe, and give you good advice where things are
A. H.
Typical B&Q, stock just about everything you would want at sensible prices. Staff here are always helpful; but sometimes you have to ask for the right person to help
D. N.
I believe it is one of the better DIY superstores around. Tend to get what you want at reasonable prices

R. M.
Very nice helpful staff
C. B.

G. B.
Plenty of choice
But apparently taps are not part of the bathroom 20% discount 🤔
N. C.
Very helpful staff if you can find one
J. C.
Good but not the spade I wanted and a hideously long queue for the tills.
L. D.
Didn't have many bathroom lights in stock. Perhaps go early weekend to avoid lack of stock disappointment.
E. W.
Processes need more work
S. S.
As a trader I try to get as much as possible for the good price
B. S.
Not a bad selection and much better than homebase's! Some things are a bit pricey if you know how to do it yourself, but I guess you pay for the convenience.
J. F.
Mainly cos it had what I wanted first time and quality/price we're good!
L. F.
Great store, observes covid distancing, helpful operatives.

M. W.
Huge store but lacking staff and stock
N. T. B.
Easily accessible, but flat wood cutter not working 😕
C. B.
Prices seem a bit high, but I think that's the case most places at the moment.
h. w.
They have done a good job of distancing .best I've seen and staff very helpful
N. “. S.
Good all round selection, but that comes at a price.
Y. A. S.
Massive range.. a must visit for any DIY lover
