S. W.I love this place. Full of racks of oddments of wood of all kinds, just select what you want after a good rummage, then best of all they cut it to your measurements. This is such a great service in a world of bland DIY stores as not everyone has the tools (or skills) to do this. Thoroughly recommended to anyone who loves woodworking or just needs to do jobs round the house.
D.No Problem placing the order or collecting the goods. Small orderly queue on collection at the appointed time (wood waiting for us on a trolley). Excellent "old fashioned" service.and good value.
i.I've been using A K Williams for years now, it can get quite busy so don't expect to be in and out it a few minutes especially if you need something cutting. They have a great selection of timber including sheet materials you can buy as much or as little as you like and if they don't have it chances are they can order it in. They also have a good selection of screws fixings and ironmongery with knowledgeable staff ready to help. A good traditional place I hope are there for years to come.
T. S.Currently only taking orders over the phone but give you a collection time for pick up, very helpful staff members, they cut the timber I required to the size I wanted, much better than the local big DIY stores who do not offer this service.
E. R.If you want timber or building supplies try here first. Prices on timber are way cheaper than all the DIY stores and they will cut the wood to the sizes you want. AK's has been around since I can remember (50+ years!) and lets hope they are around another 50+ years.

T. E.Been going here for years. Used by both professional tradesmen and DIYers. A traditional timber yard and builder's merchant where you can buy four or five of an item if that's all you need. No blister packs of cheap Chinese rubbish, most of which you will never use. Staff are always friendly and available for advice if you need it. Long may they continue.

s. r.The staff here are very laid back and are more than helpfull. It's just what you want from customer service. I needed some timber cut to size. I Went to jewsons first and the guy who had the ticket/ qualification to use the saw was off on dinner. They said come back tomorrow dinner and it would be done. Ive had this problem with Shrewsbury 3 times And Aston Birmingham jewsons too. If you want timber cut to size quick choose AKs.! It was cheaper too! Plenty of other timber products fixings and a small selection of tools. I recommend and I'll use more often👍🔨
