I had to go here yesterday with my mum for her regular check up. We were attending the breast clinic its on the ground floor in the main building so it can be really busy. Mums appointment was for 10am usually the car park is quite full at this time but fortunately we had no queue to wait in at all. The area where you enter use to be full off people and patients gathered smoking 🚬 and the smell was rotten but they have changed that now and made it a no smoking 🚭 area which is a far more pleasant experience when entering the building 😀 There's also a cash machine beside the shop when you enter downstairs if you need to get money for your ticket for the car park on the way out. Though this was the only negative the coins wouldn't accept and we had to use our card it wasn't a big deal but might be if you don't have a card. The shop has everything its quite small and can get very crowded. There's also an eating place no seating area selling hot and cold drinks hot food sandwiches etc.
The clinic itself was very busy but the staff couldn't have been nicer they were so attentive and caring and made everyone feel at ease 😉
All in all its quite small and they have a lot of chairs cordoned off dont know if its to do with covid or they're working at something 🤔 but its a good hospital run like clockwork.

I would like to check on a patient who claims Mary has been suffering from breast cancer for a while. Please advise، thanks all

Glad to say it’s been years since I’ve been here and such a different vibe with no A&E and during Covid. The main car park is virtually empty each evening. If you meet six people on your way to the ward, that’s it. Parking was £1.70 going over the hour and payable by card so hassle free. First class care as always

Lose one star due to meeting nurse Ratched in recovery.

I was admitted on Friday night (09/08/2019) at 02h00 in the morning. The staff and nurses were so friendly and helpful in the wards. I got a few nurses coming in to greet me and introduce themselves as it was the first time I had been admitted there and it was really nice to get to know some of the nurses etc working there. I usually go to the Respiratory Centre every 3 months and the nurses and doctors are amazing and very friendly. The hospital is clean and everything is well marked out. The cafe is wonderful and the food in the wards is amazing. I do DEFINITELY recommend Belfast City Hospital. The service is absolutely incredible and they have top notch nurses, doctors and other staff members. A huge shout out to ground staff who work hard keeping the hospital clean 😊

Excellent hospital and staff. It's tower is a well known city landmark that can be seen for miles.

My mum's been attending this hospital on-and-off for the last 4 years for trestment. The staff have been absolutely fantastic with her and treat her like royalty. I cannot fault them. The cafe on the ground floor is always clean and staff always friendly. Coffee is very good but the only downside is the limited seating. Other than that ,the doctors and nurses that we've encountered are a credit to our NHS .thank you 😁

My mum was in ward 5 a few years ago. Excellent nurses and Doctors. Then attending Bridgewater Centre for Chemo we found the staff outstanding. Courteous and friendly. Even now 5 years later the yearly review recalls are always punctual. Can't thank or praise the staff enough

Free health care can't beat it, food may not be the greatest in the world but can't go wrong with the sandwiches and soup, fresh fruit or a yogurt.
Been here too many times and will be here many times more, they do their best to help and most of the time are friendly and welcoming and go above and beyond what is asked of them. There is of course the odd exception.

I was up for my 1st Chemo and was so scared but I need not have been as all the staff were so friendly and helpful and they were all smiling it made my day so relaxing that it passed so smoothly and I had no need to worry before going up. I do not know how they do it as it was so busy but I never heard anyone complain so it shows you how smooth an operation it is. It leaves it that my 2nd Chemo I will sleep the night before as there is no need to get stressed out.

It is 2021 how is there no card payment option for the car park!!! in the Tower payment booth.
other than that issue, very well sign posted where to go, staff were lovely, explained what they were going to do, didnt feel rushed and was plenty of space

Much better Hospital than the Royal that's for sure staff looked after my Mother very well in the City Hospital compared to the Royal which is a clown fest in that Hospital

I had major cancer surgery here recently, which saved my life. Thank you to the consultant who removed my cancerous kidney!
The experience, though, was the most traumatic of my life thus far.
The pain from severe constipation caused by opioid pain relief was far worse than the pain from the surgery wounds, despite my advising them prior to surgery that I suffer from chronic bowel motility problems which mean I am chronically constipated and have to use osmotic laxatives daily.
They left me go through the pain for three days before stopping the opioids or initiating laxative treatment.
The food was disgusting, usually dried out and rather tasteless.
There is inadequate fresh air in the building and getting a decent sleep at night is nigh on impossible in hospital.
Some of the nurses were more Ratchet and less Nightingale, which isn't fair on people who are frightened and in [severe] pain.
A little bit more compassion never goes unappreciated!

Came home for the weekend. Had the most horrific dental pain. I came straight from the ferry having googled emergency dentistry. I was in severe agony. Could barely function and actually cried like a big girl in the waiting room. I was taken in fairly promptly to be greeted by a lovely dentist and nurse. Together these 2 people made me feel human again. And able to enjoy my weekend back home , visiting my mother and helping her pack up to move house. I cant thank them enough. This was on thursday evening about 7.40 (22nd nov). They truly were lifesavers for me. Took out my rotten nerve and eased my pain. Thankyou so so much. What a fabulous service. I am forever in their debt. Thats how much pain i was in. But not now. THANKYOU . M gorthy. X

On behalf of my husband he has ask to sent the following message
I had cause to visit the audiology dept in the city hospital, and may I say 5 stars is not enough to say the way I was treated. My appointment was on time and the patients they took so that I could get the best hearing aid to suit my needs, thank you all so much for a a great service. Regards Alex mc Killop Carnlough

Staff in Ward10 North and in the Cancer Centre ward 3b highly professional in their approach to each patient. Also friendly and accommodating to patients needs. High praise indeed

Taking into account, SOME decent staff, three stars is as decent as BCH deserves. Left behind in times and whilst money can be a reason, departments lie vacant, manners have dissolved and the car park still is as poorly managed as 10+years ago. Additionally, security staff lack the skills required to work with the public.. 😡

I attended BCH from October 2017 until March 2018 for treatment due to illness, and continue to attend for review .....I can only praise the staff for the magnificent work they carry out here.....they all deserve gratitude for the duty of care they provide in an overstretched Healthcare system.....thank you 🌟
