Went to visit my sister on the dementia ward.and honestly the nurses r very good.we young foreign nurses lovely we girls.but they r not giving old patients any dignity.they pulled a mans pj bottoms down a bit to give him an injection in his tummy and the whole ward could see. There was another dementia lady patient who they were putting into bed and the whole ward could see she had a nappy on.please please give these patients some dignity and pull the curtains round.thats what they are there for.(MORE TRAINING URGENTLY NEEDED FOR THESE YOUNG GIRLS)

I went to Mater Hospital this morning with my mum as she had an eye appointment. We went to the wrong place and were standing outside the main door of the main building when a young man came out with a wheelchair and asked if we needed help. We showed him mums letter and turns out we were supposed to be across the road at a different building. We got mum to sit in the wheelchair and he proceeded to push ( or rather pull) mum along the path and across at the lights right up to the door of the correct building. His name is Paul and he’d been going on his lunch break when we had first asked for his help. Such a chatty, friendly and helpful young man.

Recently, I was a patient undergoing gastroscopy. Great team of doctors, nurses and other staff. From entering the hospital premises, I could count on help in reaching my destination. Very competent nurses helped and explained everything to me before and after the procedure. A wonderful lady was holding my hand during the procedure, comforting me and making everything easier. Thank you.

Last May 18th 2021 I was admitted to the Respority Ward under Dr Susy Guy and Team. What amazing Caring Dr Guy and her Team and Nurses are they nursed me back to health and even when you leave the hospital ward, the treatment and Doctors Care is ongoing being a Survivor of PTs Blood Clots in the Lungs makes me to be so thankful to come from Belfast City and to have Great Consultants Junior Doctors Emergency Doctors and Amazing Caring Nurses on the Wards. 5 stars would never be enough. Thank you Stephen Colclough

Positive comments only for the Mater.. Well signed, helpful staff and the medical team excel in reassuring patients. Signs clearly mention that waiting may be a possibility and it is also clearly accompanied with an apology, for those that complain about waiting, obviously your symptoms do not effect your concept of time, I do however understand that the procedure for removing a shoulder chip is very draining upon the health service. The staff overall are genuine and are deserving of five stars,. How quickly people forgot the weekly round of applause. People should separate their pains from their complaints.

Fell week before Christmas and thought I had sprained wrist. By Christmas Eve morning wrist painful and swollen. Phoned Grosvenor Surgery at 2.30pm, GP rang back and diagnosed possible fracture over the phone. Referred me to Mater Hospital Urgent Care Unit 4.30pm. Seen right away, x-ray and plaster of paris by 5pm. Home 5.30pm. Brilliant service by GP surgery staff and Mater NHS staff in the midst of a pandemic

I visited the Mater Infirmorum Hospital Emergency Unit today as a patient. The receptionist was very pleasant. Didn't have a long wait before I was triaged, followed by blood tests. I had the pleasure of being seen by Dr. Bjorn ( hope the spelling is correct). He was very professional and thorough with assessments. He listened to my concerns and answered my questions in the most intellectual manner. I was given medication. I left the unit feeling satisfied. This Dr. has added a plus to the institution and I wish for him all the best as he continue in this noble profession.

This is a great hospital, I have been at A and E several times before admitted, my last visit was first class on 28th December I was suffering from severe pain had a scan and injection for pain, I had to be transferred to RVH for major surgery, in the Mater I was looked after a Doctor called Niamh, who arranged for a specialist from RVH to come to see me, Niamh went with me for the scan. If she reads this or anyone that knows her does. Please let her know I was very grateful and Thankyou. The staff are run off their feet and work very hard to deal with patients 💙

I could not fault the staff in the mater at all they all work very very hard . It's not the staffs fault that they r under staffed . I also like the new ward they have for a&e patients that need treatment but don't need to be kept in for treatment . I have been treated with iv antibiotics and allowed to go home and come back again for more treatment. I personal think this is a brilliant idea for those that hate being admitted to hospital and might not have childcare to go into hospital . It also helps save money for nhs so they can use it else where within nhs

My son needed treatment at Mater ED and I can honestly say we couldn't have gotten a better service anywhere. Everyone was so professional and caring and he had all his investigations done promptly and he was stitched and home in two hours. Honestly I couldn't find a fault even if I looked for one. Save our NHS!!

Everyone involved in my care was brilliant from the cleaners the people who brought the food and coffee, the nurses who give the meds & took the bloods, to the doctors & their wisdom. Thank you 4 looking after me so well.Craig Robinson Belfast.

My husband is having treatment at outpatients and now as an in patient. The care he is receiving is wonderful, from the Consultant, doctors and the nursing staff. I wouldn't want him to be in any other hospital.

I really feel that I must leave this comment today, my 86 year mum had to go this morning with a head injury, from she went in till she was discharged no longer than two hours, I would really like to thank all the staff for looking after her especially doctor Michale who made her feel so comfortable and at ease, a massive big thank you to doctors nurses and all staff

Great hospital but like all hospitals it can be very confusing when you first arrive and are trying to find where you need to go. The side entrance is from the carpark. Just turn left and follow the signs as best you can.
