What an excellent reception I had at A&E. After a minor accident while walking. I was deeply impressed at the friendliness and professionalism of the staff. It’s a bizarre thing to leave a review of a hospital but I wanted to express my gratitude to the nurses, doctor and radiologist and reception, all of whom could not have been caring and accommodating. Thank you so much!

I will always be so grateful to Belford Hospital. Thank you so much for the excellent care over 5 days during the Christmas period when I became unwell whilst on holiday. Ambulance, Medical, Nursing, Pharmacy, Catering, Domestic teams - 1st class and brilliant. Even Father Christmas called by....

What an amazing team!! I was so apprehensive going in about having to go under anaesthesia being my first time. I was so anxious but the entire staff were incredible. They made me feel so comfortable and were so attentive after my surgery. They even phoned me to make sure I was doing ok after being discharged.
Despite all the anxiety I went through beforehand, I will never again have the same level of hesitation and it’s all thanks to the wonderful staff. I was only there for the day on the Isobel Woods day case unit and every single member of staff including the charge nurses (one being a trainee nurse who was so unbelievably sweet!) and the theatre nurses, the surgeon and anaesthetist were all superb. Thanks for taking such good care of me!

Had to attend after a mtb accident I had at Nevis range
I Cannot praise the staff high enough particularly nurse Mairi (didn’t get her surname) who was amazing and the surgeon that did my stitches was so friendly and did a brilliant job
All the staff were were so professional and friendly from the minute I walked in and so busy
I was receiving treatment within 5 min of walking in….where else would that that happen in an A&E department?
Thanks guys

Unfortunately I needed attention.
Ambulance service was fantastic, especially due to location, team was very professional.
Hospital staff overworked underpaid but amazing.
I needed treatment and xrays etc and said my host was picking me up at a certain time and they really put themselves out to help.
Thank you to a great team.

I cannot rate the staff of Belford Hospital highly enough. I was assessed as needing a hernia operation by Raigmore Hospital who were also excellent. I agreed that I would go to any hospital in NHS Highland area and was offered Fort William. I was pre operation assessed by telephone. The assessment was thorough and professional and left me confident that I would be in safe hands. The whole operation day could not have been improved on. At every stage nursing and surgical staff were friendly, welcoming, caring, knowledgeable, professional and willing to go above and beyond to make me feel relaxed. Anybody being offered a procedure here should be confident that there is considerable expertise available. My home was in Dingwall.

Never wanted to use a hospital whilst on holiday, but I was left with no choice. I had an accident ( lept from a waterfall, got it wrong) and ended up here in the A and E. Funny thing happened tho. My wife had to drive me there, we were staying about 12 miles away, down a single track road. At the best of times my wife doesn't like driving, especially with me as a passenger, couple that with driving Lochside.... u get the picture. Anyways, she suffers very bad anxiety, me turning up at our accommodation with the kid's yelling " dad is hurt" sent her into a panic attack that was at its peak as we arrived at the hospital, so much so, nurses attended to her first they thought she was the patient. Anyway, once sorted they tended to me. They were very good and not in the slightest bit judging of me and my dangerous leap that led to my accident. Result was 2 broken metatarsal bones, one requiring surgery. As it was our final day, I asked if I could be temporarily fixed up and get my surgery done at home in Birmingham. They did this :-)
Can't find fault at all. Obviously I don't wish to return, but if I ever need to I know I'll be in safe and caring hands :-)

I had the unfortunate need of the hospital when I had a stroke when travelling to Fort William for New year the speed of the ambulance and the quality of care I received in A and E was exemplary I was fully expecting to be waiting for hours as is the normal at home, but everything was done for me with care efficency and I would wish I could thank each doctor, nurse, auxiliaries and domestics individually. The food was excelent obviously put together with care and attention. Thanks to each member of staff and hope that they are able to continue with the wonderful service they provide within the NHS
Once again thank you.

Had to visit A&E for a burn and the nurses couldn’t have made me feel better and reassured about the whole situation. Making me laugh while sorting me out and explaining all my aftercare to me. Their approach really kept me calm and I was able to still finish my holiday. Really can’t thank you all enough!

Best visit to A&E ever!
This hospital is second to none, whilst on holiday and in the middle of nowhere my elderly father required urgent medical assistance. He was seen immediately, Unlike the usual 4 or 5 hour wait in the West Midlands! The staff we absolutely delightful, friendly and reassuring despite the current pandemic which meant that we were away home within the hour.
Thank you Belford A&E staff.

Five years ago I had an allergic reaction on top of Ben Nevis and I was sent to Belford Hospital after being rescued by Lochaber Mountain Rescue Team (total heroes).
I can only praise the team at the hospital, for their kindness and professionalism. I couldn’t have had a better experience after a terrible incident.
Sorry it took me so long to leave a review, but be sure I won’t ever forget how well you treated me there. Thank you!!! ❤️

Hi all I had a Umbilical Hernia repair at the hospital and the staff are commendable. I was made to feel at ease and the patients alongside me were lovely 😊. My husband got delayed in picking me up but the nurses stayed on shift until his arrival. Thankyou Shana, Jane and Sarah xxx

I was involved in a road traffic accident in the highlands last week. I was trapped in my bus and had to be cut free by the fire brigade, I was then taken to Belford Hospital where the staff treated me in the most caring and professional manner. I was incredibly well looked after and was diagnosed and treated quickly. I cannot say anything other than the NHS and their staff have my undying gratitude. Belford Hospital is a great credit to the NHS. Thanks to everyone who helped me. Jim Divine

My wife was taken ill on our recent holiday in Scotland. She was seen at A&E quickly and efficiently by the highly professional staff on duty. The senior consultant was Mr. Day who very carefully explained to me what was happening and advised that my wife should be admitted to the Care and Assessment Unit for 3 days. Mr. Day was brilliant. Throughout her stay she was well cared for and all the staff including the domestic staff treated her with kindness. We are very grateful and my wife's treatment was the best of The NHS. We are extremely lucky to have this service. Well done everyone at Belford and many thanks.

The best treatment I've received in my 52 years. On holiday in the Highlands, unfortunately ended up with a serious issue requiring emergency surgery..... The staff here are the most professional, kind and empathetic people I've ever come across.... Thank you so much.

My wife broke her ankle this past August while our family was on vacation in Scotland. Chris, the nursing practitioner on duty when we arrived, and the whole team (Fiona and Donald a/k/a “Ginger”) were exceptional in every way. They treated my wife and me and my daughter-in-Law and son like we were a part of their family. So kind, so helpful, so competent - not to mention hilariously funny. Their humor made us all relax in a difficult situation. Chris set her ankle perfectly and prepared all the necessary documents to get her able to fly back to the USA two days later. So very thankful for such great care in Scotland.
Thanks!!

Broke my leg/ankle nearby a few years ago and went there for treatment. Nice people, though they got in my pants without even buying me dinner. Good conversation, decent drugs. 10/10

What a team! Due to an accident, my wife had to be treated here for three days before the return flight. I have never experienced so much help, closeness, sympathy and hospitality. We are very thankful. If it has to be a hospital: Belfort Hospital, thumbs up!
