I have just been discharged from ward 14 after a total knee replacement on Wednesday 6th July under the care of Mr Duffy and the whole team from ward 18 at Bishop Auckland after the dept was transferred to Durham. The whole team went above and beyond and I have never come across a group of more caring and professional people, every single team member was so lovely and I cannot praise them highly enough, they made a frightening scary situation much easier thank you all again.

After about 12 hours in Darlington A&E my mam was transferred to Durham ward 2 stroke unit. She was there for 2 weeks. The staff were amazing, they were friendly, compassionate and thoughtful. Nothing was too much trouble. The first and last night they looked after myself and family also. Brought us tea and coffee and blankets. Sadly my mam passed away. But I'm grateful she was here with family and caring people around her. Thank you to you all in the stroke unit you are amazing.

My mum sadly passed away but the care and support she received from ward 3 was incredible . They were all so lovely and kept the family updated with all information. A special thanks to the young male nurse in A&E who wore the angel wings….. thank you for all you did for my mum when she was in your care
B. S.
Many thanks to mrErdmam and his team for the excellent care.I would like to commend the Day surgery unit for looking after me so well. Staff were polite and courteous throughout. Efficient and very caring.5 Star service
Special thanks to holly Ayman Alyson and two lovely student nurses.a team to be proud of!!
The only negative is the cluttered theatre areas was a bit of an obstacle course. Despite that every where was scrupulously clean which can be difficult in a very busy unit
My first visit to dryburn very impressed
Thanks again

Couldn't not fault A&E staff & Dr's also the orththorpedic nurses the staff work considerably hard and on the ward during my stay what people need to realise what A&E , stands for Accident & Wnergencies. Also Xrays, etc are seen in order of priority for emergencies that may come in during the time spent waiting so moaning about staff and your life stories that are posted on here doesn't help staff morale who at times works over 14hrs shifts or more to provide a service to their best of ability.
. So maybe try a local walk in centre not A&E.
stay.
they never stop.

Never actually went into the hospital, but met up with my daughter going in to have her 3rd child and her mum went with her, so didn't actually see any of the hospital personally, but the wife said they were kind and helpful in there, but little disappointed about times and access for family etc, but understandably so with COVID being high risk there.
Now parking was another matter, I was unclear about where exactly too go after passing the main entrance, pulled into where car's were parked and couldn't see disabled parking, then noticed a lot of bay's were marked for staff, carried on to a guy at a barrier and asked and he was very friendly and a great help saying what to do etc, so seems like a great place from what I saw and heard.

Great staff, well organised, very caring if given a chance are probably the best surgeons, doctors, nurses in the world but keep getting their wings clipped by poor management and proper lack of funding.

Excellent doctors, very thorough, and they speak good English. Only let down was carpark, there is no app or debit card payment, who uses cash in 2022?

After a recent stay in ward 9. I would just like to a huge thank you to all the staff. They were all very helpful and caring.
A huge mention to Vivienne. She was amazing, nothing was any trouble to her. She was so friendly and supportive. She was ran off her feet doing various roles yet always took the time with you to make you feel comfortable.Vivienne is a true credit to the NHS.

On entering hospital I was ushered to the department and seen to after a 10 minute wait. Then sent to xray department then back for a further consultation. During my visit I was offered a packed lunch quite tasty and a cup of tea. All in all my time spent at the hospital nearly 3 hours. Well done to all the hospital staff who had looked after me. A pleasent visit. Many thanks
J. M.
Everyone has their own experiences and their own views but this is mine.
Our daughter was brought here today by ambulance (massive thanks to Kev, Will and Sophie 😘) and the staff where absolutely fantastic.
Shirley and Shelley were our nurses and unfortunately I didn't get the Doctors name but they all treated our daughter amazingly.
She could not breathe and they gave her fantastic care and were caring and patient towards her and as her Mam they kept me well informed.
I can't speak highly enough of this hospital.
Thank you all so much for looking after my baby girl.
Regards Jenni McNally and Isabella McNally xx

Nearly 2 weeks ago we had our baby at the hospital and prior to her birth, we had daily monitoring due to being overdue. I cannot fault the hospital or the staff on any of the maternity wards at all. Despite being rushed off their feet I always felt well looked after and supported and their care was responsive, compassionate and with mine and my babys best interests at the centre of it all. Thank you!

I feel I must leave a positive review this morning as per every interaction I have had here, the experience was fantastic (I've had 2 pregnancies and births here so have spent lots of time over the years!) I have been to the drive in covid testing station for a pre-surgery test and it was excellent! Lovely personable nurse named Helena did my test quickly, and I was done, dusted bad back home by the time of my appointment! I arrived a little early and she was happy to get on with it. Made me feel very at ease and the whole experience was just fantastic. Brilliant hospital, in my opinion and experiences, always has been. Keep up the good work!
J. L.
Couldn't fault the care received
Ward 16 surgical was fantastic , staff caring, friendly and understanding.
CDU department was great with my Aftercare, staff was brilliant.
J. M.
Parking is absolutely ridiculous! Car park full but managed to park nearby in the day care care park approx 5 mins walk.
E. C.
urgent care department are fantastic all the staff are friendly and great at there job Kevin was very helpful today along side Wayne also couldn't thank them enough my partner and young son was pleased with there good customer service skills and extreme level of care for me as patient
M. P.
Some areas of the hospital and their staff are fantastic, caring and considerate, but some of the night agency staff are so so bad that it makes me scared to ever have to go in hospital again. I can honestly say that they had no idea what they were doing and had no compassion or understanding of care at all. I can't say that for all of them but I was in for 5 days after surgery and I was shocked that they lacked basic knowledge of how to look after anyone. The consultant was fantastic and the nurses and healthcare assistants were also so lovely on ward 16. They do have busy days and also nights are busy but that does not excuse what I witnessed. I did report it while I was there. One night agency healthcare assistants treated an old lady with so much disrespect I cried. I could list all the things but it would take so long . The wards need more trained staff because it is none stop for them, but I do feel that leaving 1 agency healthcare assistant who doesn't speak good English to look after 4 patients all night without supervision is not good and this happened on 4 occasions.

Had to visit the hospital A&E department because my GP wanted some tests done. From the moment i entered it was well organised wasn't too long before i was called to have my observations done and a blood test by a very friendly young nurse who was working flat out but still managed to smile and perform her duties expertly. Had a bit of a wait after that until a specialist doctor came to see me as he was working upstairs on the wards so was to be expected and this was explained to me by another senior nurse who was working on the reception. Then the doctor arrived and examined me thoroughly and after all the tests were completed decided on the treatment. I was then surprised to see the senior nurse who had been working on reception arrive to help with the treatment she seemed to be everywhere! I asked her what time she had started work and she told me 7.30am and would finish around 8pm and this was normal. After that i was discharged to go home and am so far feeling much better, as i was leaving i looked into the waiting room it was still full and the queue waiting to book in was just as long as it had been all day, certainly opens your eyes to how busy the hospitals have become the staff earn every penny and deserve more.

Hello, I have recently spent 8 days in hospital on ward 15 due to having an operation on my stomach and groin to remove cancer.
The staff where beyond anything I have ever dealt with, absolute Angels to the core, there are no words to how well they treat me, I felt safe warm and above all I felt well in myself.
I got the all clear in hospital and I honestly believe without the help of everyone within that hospital I think I would be a very very Sick lad I am only 23.
So from me and my family thank you so much ♥️♥️♥️
J. E.
I attended the Mobile Breast Screening Unit which is situated in the carpark. The service users were asked to just arrive at their appointment time (not early) and to wear face coverings at all times. There was a one-way system in operation so service users never came into contact with each other. The procedure was efficient (as usual).
M. G.
My son was on the Treetops ward for several days. He received excellent care from all the staff who dealt with him including the casualty staff who initially seen him.
A. R.
Had a long wait for my x Ray. Nurses & Dr's are so busy but my experience was good.
J. G.
Snotty A and E receptionist demanded to know why I hadn't gone to my GP instead of going to A and E.
Still wasn't satisfied when told I'd done a self test on NHS 111 and been told to go to A and E as soon as possible!
All other staff were friendly though.Even the doctor u saw said I'd have been sent there by GP anyway.

Due to issues of a private nature as well as a negative interaction between something, I got the taxi here as per the 111 request. Both experiences recently have been pretty unprofessional I get we are in the middle of a pandemic but I have to say. First time when I got into the treatment room the nurse was mega condescending which felt purposeful it was no accident. I also felt interrogated which was kind of weird asking 20 unimportant questions, then took my blood a lot of it followed by leaving the vials in the wrong area I remember the EMT saying they (minus the technical term) "went off" basically, so I had to get it done again. This is really unprofessional no lockdown is an excuse for that. Second time the IM injection was oddly rough in my shoulder, I never had one of those but this seemed strangely painful. Then she said "you can go now" and just like left no sweat when i was in major pain for 15 mins no warning afterwards. Minus two bad experiences the rest of the staff were great usually don't write reviews like this but it's been hanging on my mind the past few days, tell me if I am overreacting and it is no problem.
M. L.
They have been amazing, I had surgery when covid was at its peak, I never doubted the staff would not keep me safe, I have been well looked after at all of my appointment, they have excellent infection control measures in place. They are still looking after me as my treatment continues.
K. Y.
Can not fault the staff here! Apsolutley brilliant talked me through every step of the way. Very kind and friendly! Massive thankyou to all but especially Amie Shelly Sue and Claire in the monitoring and treatment areas! Absolutely brilliant!
T. l.
Have spent a lot of time on various occasions in various departments of the hospital, some of those times have not been as good as they could and should have been due to the staffs unconscious behaviour towards people who don't fit their pigeon holes, but I had to go to the Medical Physics department on Monday for a lung scan. Its always difficult for me for one reason or another, but on Monday the staff were absolutely excellent. Patient, Reassuring, Professional but above all they treated me as a person and not a number. Staff like those who were on duty on that day need to be highlighted as excellent, yet when I thanked them they were very humble and said "its our job". Well it is their job, but they did it above and beyond what many more would do. Thank you to all of them. Give them the pat on the back they deserve.
L. D.
Can not thank the nurses on ward 16 enough for their patience and understanding when mam has been on their ward for the past 4 days. I am a long way from home and her only daughter, and they were so polite and helpful in bringing mam to the phone and keeping me updated. Never made me feel I was being a bother and understood my concern. Thank you so much.
R. E.
Staff on Treetops ward were fantastic. Facilities for parents and children were brilliant making what was a stressful time, a little easier. Previously our older daughter was on the Neonatal unit and again, the staff were amazing. Patients and visitors are well looked after at this hospital. Parking is easy, with a choice of two carparks - one you pay and display, the main car park you pay at a machine when you are about to leave.
M. S.
Gave birth to my son here 3 weeks ago. All the staff on the maternity ward were fantastic. Can't fault them at all they were all friendly and happy to help with anything I needed. I was well looked after throughout my whole pregnancy
J. Y.
If I could give more than 5 stars I would give them to this wonderful hospital. I have been seeing Dr Fayaz & his team in the Lung Health department, I have been treated with respect, kindness & compassion at all times, all questions have been answered in full even the silly ones! The nurses on the team have phoned me about appointments & while on the phone have been happy to set my mind at rest about queries I had.
I also had 2 scans in the X-ray department, again all the staff were great.
Thank you each & everyone of you.
R. M.
Nurses aren't walking around on their "phones" they are the electronic devices that are used to store patient information. This is also where observations are recorded. So if a nurse is looking at a phone 9/10 they are reading a patients notes!!

My partner and I attended an appointment with Doctor Cunningham regarding a chest infection. My partner was very nervous about this consultation. But we needed not to worry, this Dr was wonderful, we would like to thank everyone from reception through to the nurse who took her vitals, thank you once again for a most relaxing experience.

I called my GP at 8.30am on 28/01/19 in agonising pain. By 2.30 pm that same day, I was attending the physio department in North Durham University Hospital.
Catherine met with me within 15 minutes. She was pleasant, caring and very knowledgeable. Her explanations were clear. She advised me on exercises, pillow support, heat treatment and medication and organised a follow up appointment. I am really impressed with the care I received and I am extremely grateful. Thank you
j. b.
I've Just recently received treatment here and I can not fault any of the staff. I was nervous and scared. Every step of the way staff were respectful, friendly and really put me at ease. The procedure was so professional, every care taken for it to go smoothly, this procedure must of cost the nhs a lot of money but yet it's there for us when ever we need it. Thank you so much x

Excellent, and then some. Hubby underwent wrist replacement surgery with the superb, understanding and patient Mr Jeff Auyeung and his registrar Will Manning. Clinic visits were at Durham whilst the surgery was performed at Bishop Auckland hospital. I was very pleasantly surprised when we noted Mr A had super glued the incision and left my husband not only pain free in his wrist, but it had caused a 'knock on' effect that dramatically eased overall arthritis pain. The plaster room staff are exceptional at Durham, they take the time to explain what they are doing, how any tightening due to the plaster should be addressed immediately. Staff at Durham and Bishop Auckland hospital are exceptional and this surgery was another reminder of how precious our NHS is. Problems: none, not a single one, only out and out positives... no delays, waiting around, nothing like this. Cherish our NHS that provides excellent consultants and staff people, it's one of the most profoundly important aspects of our way of life. Please let your hospital and surgery know when they've performed excellent service. Many thanks to all at Durham and Bishop hospitals, we are immensely grateful.
J. C.
I was in dryburn hospital for suspected tia, ambulance staff couldn't be better, nurses and e and on ward 2 excellent. For a very scary situation for me could not have been looked after any better, thankyou all so much

My Wife has suffered BP and pre clampsia problems during pregnancy. C section was booked for Tuesday 14th March. Brought forward to Friday 10th but was brought forward emergency section Thursday 9th March 2017. From Start to Finish I cannot fault the staff and level of Care my Wife and I have been given. The NHS are going through some stick at the minute and lack funding in some areas. The Staff on Maternity the Midwifes Theatre Staff, Anaesthetist staff, nurses etc porter's have been exemplary. Outstanding. They all said don't be silly and they just doing their job but yes despite lack of support funding in some areas the NHS staff are a credit to the institution. My Wife was extremely poorly and is undergoing after care to heal and recoup. She has the perfect foundation to do this well. Durham University Hospital might have some flack at times but credit goes out to all the staff nurses etc. Hard Working conscientious.
R. L.
Admitted to Ambulatory Care today, brilliant experience and I’m a nurse so can Judge well. Everyone was incredibly professional, caring and 10 out of 10 for swift action. I had every investigation, three trips for different scans to XRay, all in one day. Thank you so much x

University Hospital Durham one of the best hospitals l have ever been to from Cleaners to Doctors they make you stay good they are so cheerful you can have a laugh with them Doctors have time for you they will explain thing out for you any problems will also be sorted, food is good never had any complaint.
The only complaint l do have is outside side of the hospital is the parking more staff parking than patients or disabled [myself] we have very very little parking space l know money is bad but would it not be worth thinking about a multi storey like Sunderland from people l have spoke to they say its the best thing they have done and then maybe the disabled patients will get extra spaces as they are needed badly l am in a wheel chair and there is no way l could come on my own l would never get out of the car park to get into hospital for any appointments with the inclines in and out of the out patients departments
j. p.
I was on ward 2 after having a mini stroke I have nothing but praise for the doctors and nursing staff totally respectful and polite first time I have been in hospital and I felt so relaxed in thier care
J. C.
Husband attended A&E Tuesday 11th July
spent 9.5 hrs in A&E and Short Stay; from 6am
Can't praise the staff enough, it was clear to see that thet were all extremely busy and stretched to the max yet everyone gave us time, sorted out problems and went above and beyond to make a very worrying, stressful day have a positive outcome.
Staff and care here is wonderful and I hope it long continues - we'd be in dire straits without them!
Thank you to all involved, you are so appreciated.
W. F.
Bit unfair to drop a star really, as the staff are marvellous, and can’t be faulted!
My complaint is about the parking!!! I had an appointment there on 24/4/18 for which I was half an hour early. By the time I “abandoned “ my car, I was 10 minutes late!!
I am disabled, and have a Blue Badge for parking, which I know does not guarantee a place, but, one row of about 10 disabled bays, had 8 cars not displaying their entitlement to park there!!!
Probably frustrated like myself, but it meant I, and no doubt others, had to dump our cars anywhere!!
I had to leave mine in a Staff bay, and walk too far for my health!
I was really ill by the time I got in, and had to get a wheelchair to take me back to my car.
It is time to ticket anyone using these bays, making it illegal to use them unless they qualify!!
I realise the parking is not the problem of the NHS, but it must be brought to the attention of the people concerned!
J. H.
I was admitted by ambulance through A and E onto medical assessments and then to ward 11. From the ambulance crew who attended and transported me on the 18th June to the staff on ward 11 I was treated courteously and with respect. My thanks to these wonderful folks. More special thanks to the wonderful team on ward 11 Bay 2 including Vicky, Tracy, Robert, Clare, Ann and Joan who were attentive, caring, friendly and responsive, who made me laugh and gave out hugs you are my heros, my dancing queens and my stand up comediennes. Yours in grateful thanks Jeanette Harold.

My Husband is currently in hospital. All the staff, from the paramedics, nursing staff, doctors to porters are kind and compassionate but very overworked. The problem with this hospital is the car park. It is a nightmare, not enough disabled parking bays and the ones there are, are situation away from the entrance. During the day you have to often queue up to get in the car park making you late for appointments and visiting times. Also the 2 wards my husband has been on don't have TV's any more , or even a radio. This makes it a very long day for patient's who are bed bound.

Had a stroke on APRIL 7th 2019 and put onto Ward 2, stroke department, unable to speak and right arm and leg paralysed.
Transferred to Bishop Auckland and discharged on June 5th, my 48th Wedding Anniversary, been in hospital just over 2 months.
At home at present recovering, but I can't thank the hospital staff enough, at both Durham and Bishop Auckland, for giving me 1st class treatment.
Thanks again.
P. D.
Visited A&E after breaking my ankle at work. Seen within 10 minutes. X-ray 10 minutes later and cast on a short time later. From hopping through the door to cast on within an hour. Excellent staff! Although do hope I never have to see them again!

Referred by my G.P. at 9.30.a.m. for investigation of heart problems. Seen in Acute Admissions Unit before 11.a.m., and given a range of tests and examinations. Discharged early afternoon, with very helpful advice from doctor about future handling of my case, and promise of further investigations as an Out-patient. All the staff were so friendly and helpful and really professional. We are so lucky to live in Durham! Thank you to one and all.
A. P.
When my son was admitted he received first class care everyone was respectful to him consulted him about his treatment .all staff were fab from paramedics A and E portering staff right the way up to consultants . Thank you for making a terrifying experience less stressful . Treetops staff are world class
J. B.
I was at a&e today with a lady I care for all staff were amazing. One nurse called Gill is well worth a mention Nothing was a bother to Gill a very compassionate lady, very respectful, kind, pleasant, 100% dedicated Thankyou Gill x

Ward 9 gynecology ward - brilliant staff, who are very friendly and really care. They couldn't do enough, and nothing was too much trouble. Unsung heroes, in a world where everyone is quick to criticise it's nice to give some praise. Thank you all so much.

Found myself having to have emergency dental treatment here today & just wanted to thank the dentist & his assisstant for the level of care i recieved. They were attentive, friendly, professional & caring & i highly commend them both. Thankyou. Happy Christmas

I received treatment at the eye clinic(eye injection), at the UHND on Monday. What a suprise , having been used to travelling to the Darlington Memorial Hospital, from Spennymoor. I requested a transfer to Bishop Auckland or my 2nd choice was the UHND. Being prepared for waiting 2 to 3 hours, I was in and out after 35 minutes. Instead of experiencing my eye being bloodshot for days, the next day it looked normal. My thanks to the NHS staff. If this new procedure was rolled out throughout the nhs, it would reduce the nhs budget deficit dramatically. It should also be reflected in a performance related pay award for the staff. My rating 10 out of 10.
Ben Ord, Spennymoor

Staff are working flat out and need more nurses
M. B.
My Dad spent 2 to 3 months in UHND last year and the care and support he received and us as a family from the ECOT team (especially Diane) was outstanding. The doctors and nurses do a fantastic job but are rushed off their feet but the extra care and support from the ECOT team makes hard times like these easier. Kirkbride family

An amazing doctor called Jack Armstrong saved my elderly fathers life on Wednesday 12th. He was going off shift at 12 midnight and still found time to make us a cup of coffee. We shall ever be in debited to him for what he did. Just an amazing individual. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
K. W.
Great staff Just not enough of them.
I was looked after very proffessionally by Abulance crew then A&E and finally surgical ward. Thank you to all the staff. Just a shame there is no better system of discharging a patient as it was 6 1/2 hours from when doctor said I could go home to when I was finally released .
P. W.
My husband was admitted to ward 4 and then transferred to ward 11 the care he received from the nurses and doctors was excellent and couldn't do enough to help him he would like to say a very big thank you to all of you for the care he was given

Situation - My wife admitted at a&e emergency at 04/10/2020 Sunday for stomach pain, no family member allowed were as this is pandemic situation.
Bad experience- For blood cannula setup 2 young man nurses.
1st young man nurse wrongly tried 4 times painfully in her both hand,
My wife was screaming crying badly and continued says please stop it stop it I do not want to give blood like this. It was tortured on her as she was alone.
1 senior person came and said to him first read the history of her and do not try to over smart and ask your senior person if u can’t.
2nd young man nurse with 1st young man nurse did 1 times kept as final totally wrong and big size wrong blood cannula. Then transferred her to ward 4.
Next day (Monday)
Finally at ward 4 excellent lovely 1 nurse came named Julie before she connected with blood cannula needle my wife said I feel pain on the spot , Julie examined with cannula flash, spot becoming dark blue and found absolutely wrong.... then she nicely setup on other hand, right small size blood cannula needle perfectly without pain.
At the end doctors and nurses were good except those 2 unskilled wrong man nurse around A&E area.
Additionally Mr Paul was excellent nice bright person at A&E I gave him something to give my wife and he gave perfectly. He might know better about that 2 bad man nurses. (As name was not taken that 2 bad man nurses)
Hope authority will take appropriate step/action.
Thank you
A. K.
The care my mother received in her final days was exemplary...the staff were marvellous. They were sensitively attentive, accorded her respect; and enabled her to die with dignity by organising excellent palliative care. My grateful thanks
T. C.
Fantastic treatment from Mr Auyeung, his Registrar and his team. Everyone is so pleasant and his department. Thank you so much for looking after me and repairing my little finger which I thought I was going to lose. I must also congratulate you on the fact that you are always on time; if not ahead with your appointments. Many thanks indeed.

Always very clean. Staff are of course wonderful and very professional. The number 64 bus from Durham stops right at the hospital to quite easy to get to.
D. S.
I just wish to say that I think that the gynaecology department are wonderful. All of the staff deserve praise for their excellent standard of work, and, their empathy towards their patients. Well done.
A. E.
Average hospital. A and e waiting times are a joke. Maternity suite is standard. Pretty hit and miss with staff, depending on thier mood dictates what care you recieve in my experiences.
T. W.
Food is nice and very friendly staff accept for one of the physiotherapist whereas the other one I had they helped me get into my chair. Loads of cafes and free cups of coffee and tea.
L. H.
Excellent service at the urgent care centre where my appointment was booked via 111.
Seen 15 minutes before my appointment time and the practice nurse was brilliant.

Hospital it’s self is a disgrace. Dirty rooms. I’ve had blood on walls floors and been sat in that room without anyone cleaning it.
Can’t knock the staff. They are great in what they do.
M. M.
I just cannot fault this hospital, I have just received treatment and everyone was wonderful. My treatment did require me to stay for a few days and just cannot thank all the staff enough.

My daughter had an Anaphylactic shock due to a peanut allergy by the time we got her to hospital she was unconscious, from A+E to the Resus room then to ITU and finally the Treetops ward ,all the staff were professional ,friendly ,and couldn't have done enough for us,we have no doubt they saved her life that night and we would like to thank them all from the bottom of our hearts.I wish i could thank them all individually we will never forget what they've done for us a Great Hospital and a Great Team ,once again THANK YOU .

My wife Avril has returned home after a hip replacement andwe must say the operation has up to now been a fantastic life changing sucess. The op was carried out by Mr Wright and what a brilliant job he has done. Her left leg was shorter due to a fall and wear and tear ok,so we had to wait but boy was it worth it .We can only thank Mr Wright and his team, and of course the nurses on ward 16.The only gripe is my better half is a very fussy eater and the food available was not to her taste ,and small thing we know but more than made up for by the length of her leg being the same and walking at home now.Thank you Mr Wright for a job well done.

When I was first dropped off from the ambulance in agony, which wouldnt go away I had to sit for 4 half hours in the waiting room curled up in agony probably annoying all the others waiting with me groaning, then waited a while when took in had some pain releif but it only took th edge off, , but when I was put in the ward apart from still making alot of noise because of my pain the nurses & staff were excellent & tried to do everything they could, one nurse I think she was higher than the others was great at her job, then day 2 or 3 I cant remember properly as I wasnt with it, within 2 hours of seeing the doctor (or surgeon) I was taken down to get my gallbladder removed, what a releif still had a lot of pain but it wasnt constant, & I have to say thanks to all the nurses & doctors who helped, what a releif when it was done , ive never felt pain like that in my life, so Thank You.

Whilst the clinical care is good there is a real issue around the way in which staff communicate with the relatives of patients.

Clean-ish hospital. Food is awful. The poor nurses were run off their feet

I was impressed with the arrangements for triage in A&E yesterday. I joined what looked like a long queue but a medic with a clipboard asked me about my problem and directed me to the GP service where there was no waiting (apart from finding it - in a portacabin). I was very pleased with the service.
