I broken my arm whilst on holiday and decided to wait until I come back to UK. Quickly during 2 days I was operated which was so positively surprising for me. I've been on ward 61 then 46 and All staff was so absolutely amazing. It was also my birthday the day before and staff decided to sing for me happy birthday 😍❤️ so polite, so nice, so sweet all of you!!thank you NHS!!! You all deserve more than a medal ❤️

Barring the time, and considering that this was our first visit to the NHS, truly professional staff: they have one of the most challenging jobs, dealing with challenge after another that the human condition brings up, competently with the best possible manner and under circumstances. It starts with reception all the way through the nurses, doctor's, and ending with the janitor. Keep up the good work, we all need you!

Went into a&e moved to acute unit.... Into cubicle quickly given the amount of folk in. Absoloutly amazing staff... Really can't stress how well looked after everyone was including myself. The girls are fantastic at the nurses station and the doctors tske time to really explain what's going on... Did every test they needed.

My mum, aged 84 is in this hospital just now & she is in ward 14 & the staff are very courteous & answered a lot of questions I had to ask about my mother. So far so good. She's been in here since last Sunday 11th September. 😊👍

My husband received first class care from surgeons and all staff in Orthopaedic Dept Ward 27 with particular thanks to Fiona the Occupational Therapist, for her exceptional care and attention, and Roger his Physiotherapist for his work with John prior to his stay in hospital, his attention whilst in hospital, and for his follow up care. Thank you.

Everyone has different experiences, I know sometimes the wait and queue might be very long but I have always found NHS staff working day and night tirelessly to serve the Glaswegians.

I was suddenly admitted into ward 66 then transferred to ward 64 and I would like to thank all the staff for all their support.I was cared for around the clock. Don't know how they manage to care for each and every one of the patients nothing was too much bother so once again thanks for all your care.

Staff are working to the best of their ability and if you have any questions regarding future treatment they will answer your questions and put your mind at ease

As an agency nurse the night staff on Ward 9 made me feel like part of the team. They were so supportive and professional. Very hard working team and always have a warm smile despite how busy the ward is
R. L.
I've had the unfortunate luck to be in a few times, all good, only one bad experience. Or should that be very bad? Yea very. Still lovely nurses who do try they're best, all in all they do the best they can in these difficult circumstances.
J. B.
Just been in the hospital for several days with diverticulitis. I was initially in Ward 49, then 66 and lastly 63. The staff in all three were absolutely excellent and I mean ALL staff. Nothing was a bother and when you’re ill that’s a major plus to not feel like a burden. I cannot praise all of you enough. Thanks for making my visit as pleasant as it could be under the circumstances.
A. T.
visiting a relative.
They were very happy with the ward the staff the care and the food.
J. P.
Family member collapsed & got taken to The Royal apart from waiting 10hrs to get put in a ward (not nurses fault)they treated him well.👌🏻👌🏻

It's a very good hospital with a big packing space.

It's really weird reviewing a hospital! I must give my feedback,
I had a horrible sporting accident dislocating my shoulder and knee. I've never really been in the hospital before, so arriving was strange.
I was seen to very quickly & the nurses and doctors were so warming and welcoming. I had to be put on morphine and a sleep when my joints were put back in to place.
I must say that the care and attention i received was amazing and the warmness of the staff really soothed both my nerves and made me feel like i had nothing to worry about.
the follow up was maginificent and im on my way to recovery with an initial check up this week.
thank you to all the staff and i am so grateful.

I was at A & E this morning 3/8/20 at approximately 9 am. I was treated extremely politely and caring by all (many) members of staff, and given every test available throughout the morning. Staff also kept to Covid hygiene rules. It turned out to be something simple and I was referred to my GP. I would also like to thank the ambulance men who escorted me there, and arrived literally 15 minutes after NHS24 called them, and were also extremely caring.
Many thanks, Isabel Robertson
D. R.
I would just like to say a big thank you to all the staff from the admin, porters, cleaners etc, everyone behind the scenes that make things happen after my short stay in the plastic surgery ward 48. In particular, Mr Thompson and all his team including Staff Nurse Sarah (from Stornoway) Jimmy the auxiluary and the Staff Nurse on the night shift (sorry I forget his name). During these difficult and challenging times I would like to sincerely thank everyone who looked after me. Best regards David

Mixed experience, overall good. I had some amazing 10/10 lovely nurses and doctors treat me here and the consultant was nice enough too. the anesthetist was amazing and put me at ease. Long waiting times in the waiting room. Downside was one nurse who was really unfriendly and another who's religion seemed to get in the way of her helping me. One of the medical people contacted me via their gmail account which I thought was unprofessional, but overall happy with service.
S. C.
Amazing place staffed by extraordinary people. When I broke my thumb the care was fantastic from seeing the specialist physiotherapists to the professional, experienced, friendly doctors and nursing staff - from start to finish to follow up treatment. Thankfully my injury was minor but if I ever need to have anything serious treated I can think of no better place.
B. “. A. M.
Emergency staff were kind and efficient and treated my husband with respect during his visit there. Staff kept him safe during covid 19 restrictions and made certain he had suitable accommodation before discharging him.
J. M.
I have attended qe2 hospital for 20 hrs as I have alower limb prosthesis and can only praise westward as most pple basically just become immobile the staff are nothing short of patience common sense and drive so to my physio Alison I salute you joemac
D. A.
This is the best hospital I have ever stayed in. Spent 15 days here and the staff on high dependancy are excellent but the staff in the respiratory ward are even better.
One small gripe was the butcher in the intensive care unit. But whatever he did to the artery in my wrist my rash cleared up, not so sure I liked the big needle he sewed onto my wrist.
Food is average but when you are not eating it's easy to accept and once I got out of a quarantined room I found the canteen did a decent bacon roll.
Over all, the staff are great, the food is average but the service from the whole team was second to none.
J. M.
I have been in twice for facial repair since serious head injury which left a blood clot and now epilepsy. To try and repair structures. They have been brilliant, caring and regular check. This may not be interesting to some people but I just want to give emphasis of fantastic care and trying to return as much of norm as they can. This is a reflection from me of the hospital and the medical staff. I always have beliefs in everything they do and competence.
E. B.
My daughter was treated in the burn unit after a serious accident and spent 10 days there as she also underwent plastic surgery. All the clinical and non-clinical staff were really polite and did everything possible to help her recover. We feel really grateful to all of them for all their efforts.
I. l.
Wonderful, the nurses, as usual, exceptional, + a very big thank you to "COLIN" of Mittie who was great helping us to the correct area !!
D. G.
On Monday (26/09/16) I had cause to attend the A&E department for some stitches, after cutting my hand. From the reception desk, to the nurse who showed me through, to the doctor in attendance (Deborah), everyone was friendly, polite, helpful & completely professional. Thank you.
M. C.
Just been discharged from ward 63.
Could not fault anything or anyone. Even the trainnee nurses were amazing.
Unfortunately need to go back for further surgery, but hope to see the male/female nurses that looked after me...
Well done guys. You are a credit to the health sector ...
L. D.
Well what can I say about this hospital
It’s the most efficient hospital I’ve have been in ( some hospital in England should take some advice from here )
Arrived here on Sunday afternoon in A&E
what a well staffed well organised clean department from consultants, nurses, and housekeeping staff.
in a Ward by 5pm again well staffed clean and professional staff
See twice by Doctors on 1st Night
Two Ward rounds done a day
well staffed from nursing to housekeeping to Porters
The only down side is the food which is in all hospital in the country
But big praise to the care and the staff and the overall experience
J. J.
I must say the nursing staff at this hospital have always been kind, helpful&caring in all wards yes they can be a times a bit off but sometimes I think this is due to them being overworked & tired plus they work non stop for 12 hours at time Good u NHS staff
j. j.
Great staff from the minute I walked in the door to the time I left after my operation(ward 70) Made to feel like nothing was a problem. Friendly, funny and caring staff. 👍

While visiting Glasgow for the holidays, I got a asthma attack and went here. It took around 2 hours to see a Dr because they were super busy in the E. R. But I was really good taken care of, they checked on me every hour, the staff was very attentive. They even gave me medicines to take with me the next morning.

Massive thank you to all staff in Acute Stroke Ward 36. Compassionate. Caring. Looked after my father to the end of his life with the highest standards in dignity and care. The comfort we were given as a family made this terrible time of losing our father as manageable as it could possibly be. Thank you
J. R.
Brilliant. Friendly re assuring, timely effective, wonderful

I called from USA to see how my sister was. As I didn't know which ward she was in I had to be transferred several times to find her as I had little information to give them, however every single nurse I spoke with in each ward was so friendly, sympathetic and pleasant . They all went out of there way to help me find her.
A. P.
Had a surprise trip to the A&E department, and then onto ward 6 after being diagnosed with a pulmonary embolism.
ALL staff were very caring and treatment was excellent. Thankyou so much for saving my life ❤
C. S.
What can I say about Glasgow Royal Infirmary exept thank you all for your selflessness and dedication to aiding other in a time of greatest need. I hope you are treated to a life full of compassion and humanity that you have brung to so many other.
d. D.
One of the biggest hospitals in Scotland which is is very very busy and understaffed but they certainly try very hard under tough conditions to help everyone patience is required if u need their help and professionalism well done Glasgow royal infirmary, to many angry people in this city .

My sister Maureen Sloan was in Ward 8 a few months ago and the care she received was second to none. What a wonderful bunch of nurses and auxiliaries. Thank you so much for the care you gave Maureen. xxx
P. S.
Ward 33 you care and attention to my terminally ill brother has been absolutely first class. My gratitude will forever be with the exceptional nursing, medical and all staff.
E. M.
As thankful as I am for the services provided, I wish that this particular hospital weren't so busy. It seems as though half of Glasgow is with Parade Group Practice, and yet theg somehow still only have two secretaries.
W. T.
Spent about 5 months in the royal can only say if it wasn’t for the fantastic nurses I don’t know what I’d have done when I was in it was during lockdown and visiting was barred so the only persons I got to see were the staff I brought in my 60th birthday in the ICU girls made me a cracking card and made a bit of a fuss . 10 out of 10 for every single one of them 😘
s. c.
My brother is there at the moment, been in quiet a few wards because of his serious condition, but each ward has been brilliant, staff treat him with respect and dignity, can’t fault them at all, working under pressure, short staffed, and with Brexit, believe me, it’s gonna get worse, lots of nurses and consultants are getting deported, so for those disgruntled people on here, point the finger where it truly belongs, and be thankful we stilll have an nhs, Boris will be selling it to Trump, which will mean if you’ve no money, no healthcare, then you truly will have something to complain about! Have a good day!
E. D.
Staff were amazing but there was only 1heart machine in the whole assessment unit and my mother in law was in there for 9 hour's before getting moved to a ward staff made it more easier with the care they gave her
M. D.
I visited a friend in Ward 5 around 5.30pm., dinner time. While waiting outside the ward, I was offered a cup of tea and a biscuit, by the auxiliary.
I really appreciated her kindness and consideration.
Thank you.
B. F.
My name is Brian Fraser and I just recently came out of ward 47,I had a Synovial Sarcoma and had 2 toes and part of my foot amputated, a transplant of skin from my thigh was taken and put over the gap in my foot, the treatment from the nursing staff on this ward was excellent, they truly are a special breed of people, i would just like to thank all of you on ward 47,you kept me going with your banter and wit, keep up the good work.
L. M.
A big thank you to the staff of Ward 6 for the care and compassion they showed my 90 year old father during his recent stay there (Sep 18). A big thumbs up from us both.

I was in urology department a few days back.I don't know about other departments but in urology Everyone was so nice & helpful. All the nurses & staff were great & very reassuring.I guess that is what people need when they are in a hospital to get a morale boost.Star of the show was the Doctor I met.I don't want to name any names but will say to all the staff keep being your kind & helpful self to all the patients who visit for your help.May God Bless us all.
D. W.
lots and lots of different buildings to navigate but all the staff that I asked for directions were more than happy to assist. bless the NHS

I've had a couple of stays in this hospital as well as family members. I have found it to be very varied with regard to levels of treatment, cleanliness, quality of food etc. Ranging from appalling to excellent on all counts.
C. B.
The nurses were very caring ,helpful , making me comfortable having pre op tests
S. M.
probly the best hospital in glasgow staff are amazing and work si hard 24 / 7 and they deserve a medal thou very easy to get lost in if you don't follow signage or have the inbuilt ability of us glaswegian to navigate the place practically blindfolded
even when busy the A&E wait is never long
P. C.

My son was in for 17 weeks in icu and high dependency the nurses in high dependency are amazing the most caring nurses I have ever came across.the high dependency unit on floor 2.not the one next 2 icu.he was also in wards 65 63 63a the reason for the 5 stars are for the nurses in high dependency.the level of care he recieved was truly amazing.i can't remember all the nurses names but I recall Liz and Elaine but they are all truly amazing I cannot praise them enough.
S. M.
After my 97 year old Mum was admitted in her final two weeks of life, my family found the staff hardworking and conscientious, the hospital was spotless with ample parking opposite (despite fees attached except one park, free after 6pm. The hospital chapel had beautiful examples of Victorian stained glass and was a peaceful space for those needing some quietness and a space to reflect. There was however a peculiarly unsettling corridor on the ground floor which had a succession of pictures on the wall, one more sinister than the next, extremely clinical and lifeless depictions of hospital equipment, a row of white coats, a single desolate empty chair etc etc. I don't know what kind of impression this is supposed to convey to visitors to the hospital but it does nothing to reassure anyone and actually causes one to wonder if this is some kind of surreal joke. Is somebody indeed kidding? Whose jaded artistic idea was this? These images are disturbing and do nothing to enhance general first impressions and should be removed as soon as possible.
F. M.
Nurses are nice and caring (more than what their job asks them to), I was sharing a massive dorm with only one other person who watched TV all day so I basically had the room for myself, food was alright, wi-fi signal was decent especially for going pokemon hunting around the corridors (unless you are in the -1 floors and etc.) and there was not too much light nor noise when trying to sleep at night so pretty good.
S. M.
I have been a patient in ward56b in April past. I could not have been better looked after and cared for by everyone there, surgeon, nurses and all others who work there, thank you. Sheila McNeil.

Time you’re seen in depends on what time you come in. Early morning like 6-9am, it’s almost empty and you will be seen very quickly. Afternoon/evening like 3-11pm it is jam packed and you’ll be waiting hours. The seat numbers were reduced and moved 6 feet apart during the pandemic, so there are much fewer seating areas available now, you have to sit on random plastic chairs. Most of the nurses here are very nice. If you have a serious issue like chest pain you will get priority. You get a much more warm and kindly personal feeling here than the QEUH where it seems so cold and clinical like you’re just a ticket number. The reception staff are quite cold but they will generally try to help you. Most of the doctors are also very nice. Only one or two bad eggs. One consultant was extremely rude, however the rest of the staff and subsequent doctors and nurses were lovely. Cardiac care staff were lovely. What I also like about this hospital over the QEUH is that there aren’t rows of ambulances waiting outside for hours with patients in them. They triage you and put you in a waiting area inside the hospital, which is important as it makes the patient feel safer and saves a lot of time for paramedics so they can attend other calls. The ambulance patient triage system at the QE is an absolute shambles.
