Fantastic Neurologists - best in the world. Staff extremely nice, but not enough qualified nurses on a ward. I really felt for them! Waited over an hour to change a saline bag because only a qualified nurse can do it, 5 other nurses walked in and out and hadn't been shown how to do it, so refused to change the bag. Training and Processes need to change in order to be more efficient and save time. I agree with nurses, too many middle management - what do they actually do!!! I do despair with the Management in hospitals, I am sure it could be much better organised.

Had my children there.1st one born in 1991. The second, well how do I explain. I wasn't having contractions like they said I should have. As far as they were concerned I WAS NOT in labour. They sent me to these guys who were doing an experiment on a wooden hut type thing
Turns out I was in full labour!!!!!! My Lauren was born and you have no idea how happy I am that she is here xx

Terrible A and E , very rude doctors with quite bad English, The Irish staff nurse were absolutely brilliant and compassionate. The whole department was overwhelmed to be fair. A Terrible experience after spending 12 hours there with a severely I'll daughter. 3 stars to the nurses and reception staff.

Thank you so much, great staff, so helpful and even though very busy they were so cheery. Well done in what has been a hard few years as well for you. And not always getting the support you all deserve as great NHS staff. Thank you.

Difficult to find parking space. If disabled, park on Level 1 of either car park 1 or 2. You can then phone for golf cart driver to come pick you up to take to main door then bring you a wheelchair to get to appointment. Driver is very helpful.

Monday 10th October 2022
I called the doctor at 10am to say my chest was a bit tight and I have a bit of an issue breathing.
The doctor called me back at 11.30am and asked me to come in at 11.45 which I did.
I was taken at 12noon and was in with the dr for over an hour
Then the dr said she wants me to go to the hospital right away
For a few tests
She sent an email to the hospital for blood tests to get done an ECG and chest X-ray
I arrived at the queen Elizabeth at 2.15pm
Was taken right away had the blood pressure done then ECG then they took blood and then I had the X-ray done all within 1 hour so by 3,30pm I was sitting in the waiting room awaiting the results.
Amazing treatment…
The wee volunteer lady in red shirt was walking about asking people in the waiting room would anyone like tea or coffee or a sandwich… Some people did, the next thing you see her delivering tea packets of Bourbon biscuits 🍪
truly amazing 😻
How lucky are we to have such great NHS staff…

The staff here are fantastic and the compassion they show you is that of a true NHS worker, be it the surgeons, doctors, nurses. Porters or domestics. The children's unit, with its Julia Donaldson Corridor, is very cathartic. God bless the NHS.

my initial wait for admission was 27 hours 24 of which i spent sitting on a chair then put on a trolley and put in a treatment room which was being used as an ARU bed.....i was very unwell and had no choice but too put up with it,, there is a definite problem in the hospital on the ground floor. my aru ward had one trained nurse who was run ragged and that is not legal in scotland... thankfully after waiting a day and a half i was admitted too ward 7d where the staff have been absolutley fantastic and i am giving a big 5 star rating on my treatment,, there is a huge problem with staff sickness but they mak do with what they have a great team too feel safe makes an unwanted stay in hospital so much more bareable. if u are going too be an inpatient a tablet or laptop is a must with its own 4g or 5g connection as u get plenty of time too watch those box sets you may have downloaded. at all times u must wear a mask if you are going down in the lifts for a coffee on the ground floor, be carefull the prices they charge are extremely disgusting, overall apart from admission problems and bed shortages its an excellent hospital it just needs staffing issues resolved quick as

Nursing staff plus physio team were excellent in ward 57 ,all were willing to go the extra mile for patients, but lack of staffing made it difficult for all , including patients
X. L.
Nurses and doctors are very helpful and friendly, especially those old ladies volunteers at the ground floor.

Saved my life twice!!!!
Almost a year to the date of the first time in hospital.
First time I was in High Dependency Unit for 7 days, the staff were absolutely amazing!!!!
Was admitted with a life threatening bleed. Very professional, fantastic service!!!
Second time a year later was also life threatening,
I was attended to by first responders, and found me in my car unconscious. Very professional, was taken by blue light and siren, to A&E .
Spent the night in A&E everyone member of staff were absolutely brilliant.
Apart from a male member of staff in A&E, who shouted , “don’t give her in bay ( I can’t remember which number of bay I was in)
“Don’t give her anymore liquids, as she has already made a mess!!! I had been sick over the floor.
I really didn’t have any energy to reply, as I am sure they are used to other liquids ending up on the floor in
A&E.
Thank you NHS Staff
We don’t know how lucky we are to have you.

Have been in hospital for seven nights so far the staff have been first class, no complaints about the service, food is what you expect in hospital its the staff that makes it good.

I was a patient in ward 6b for 4weeks the care I got was fantastic they couldn't do enough for me so I thank them from the bottom of my heart thanks girlsxx
K. P.
I was an emergency admission on Easter Monday with some heart issues. The doctors and nurses in Resus A&E were fantastic showing me a great level of care , whilst battling with a large number of admissions. I was moved on to acute recovery unit 1 , where again i was given a high level of care and attention from all the team. My thanks to all involved for doing amazing work in extremely difficult circumstances
G. H.
Excellent hospital. The level of care is fantastic here. Staff are highly trained and caring
G. R.
Short stay in-patient for surgical procedure. I was seen quickly after referral, tests done same day, review a week later and admitted for non urgent procedure 2 weeks later. Seen exactly on time each occasion.
Facilities excellent, new or refurbished hospital buildings. Very clean. Staff are exceptional, friendly and professional. Care excellent. Food of good canteen quality.
I’ve been in private hospitals and this is better. I have NO complaints.
I hear a lot of criticism about NHS Scotland in the media but I cannot it relate to any of it given my experience in QEUH (or indeed from any other part of the NHS with which I am in contact)
S.
I was admitted into A&E and had an overnight stay here. The doctor the next morning asked if I wanted surgery, when I said no I was swiftly discharged. I did have follow up appointments with nurses for several weeks. The nurses are caring and brilliant!
B. F.
I have been admitted to this hospital many times and always happy.

Just arrived home today after a seven night stay in 5Delta Bute wing . I was impressed by the care and sensitivity I have been treated with . I would like to thank the doctors , nurses and auxiliary staff who were so kind and helpful .
Thank you so much .
M. C.

I have read some of the negative reviews and I have to wonder if they are writing about the same QEUH that I had the great pleasure to attend. From the moment that I arrived at the information desk until time of my departure I was treated in the most professional and courteous manner. Attending hospital can be a traumatic experience but I was treated in such a way that I was fairly relaxed. Everyone from the nurses, cleaners, anaesthetists, porters and doctors made my stay as restful as possible. I have nothing but the highest praise for the excellent service that I received. Thank you all so much.
J. M.
I was admitted for a very sudden acute respiratory issue (not Covid) in the early hours of yesterday. From the ambulance crew, accident and emergency department, acute receiving unit to the respiratory ward, I was treated with absolutely outstanding professionalism, courtesy, respect and simply with thoroughly caring decency by every single person I came in contact with, be they front line or support staff. It's a bit of a cliche to say that 'not all heroes wear capes,' but it does apply here to the HEROES of the NHS. I'm on the mend I think, but I will never forget what these special people did for me in my time of need, going above and beyond with selfless grace. I humbly thank them all.

I am a part time Muslim chaplain admitted in QEUH.
I have Wonderful care experience, very friendly and helpful staff.
Few suggestions about religious and culturally sensitive areas of care.
All Patients need a holistic care approach (physical, emotional and spiritual )
According to my experience some time small things make big difference and reduce the stress and anxiety.
It will be good practice to ask the patients (at admission time or during the stay) if they have any religious or culturally sensitive needs.
If they need a visit from spiritual care team.
If they need any social worker or counselling services help.
For Muslim patients:
Facilitation for washing before five time daily prayers
Guidance in finding qibla direction for prayer
Providing prayer mat or clean sheet to pray
Halal meals
Information about prayer room in sanctuary for visitors

It is a very good hospital with reasonable distribution of parking Spaces and easy to find. There is a map of the hospital near the parking lot, which makes it easy to find the place you want to go.

Vast expanse of a place, a long walk to get to a ward. But lifts are efficient and was able to buy a takeaway coffee for my husband who was an inpatient. Always a bit of a struggle to get to the site unless you have a car, but a neighbour kindly gave me a lift on this occasion. However the staff on the wards are great, even tho' overstretched.

We recently attended A & E for a potential stroke which thankfully turned out to be Bells Palsy. The attention we received was absolutely fantastic very little time was wasted from the time we arrived to the time we left and in that time very many procedures were carried out very efficiently. All members of staff were excellent cant thank you all enough especially during the current difficulties.
H. O.
I'm still in being treated, and I can't thank all the staff enough. They are so short staffed with full wards to look after.I just can't believe what I'm reading in some of these post's.From my experience and interaction with all staff, they just couldn't be more helpful and understanding, to me they don't get paid enough and certainly don't get the respect that they deserve. Ward 4D The Arran suite are stars.🌟

Firstly I would like to say the one overall care recieved by my daughter from the nhs 24 call, and paramedics on the ambulance to the actual staff nurses and doctors who took care of her was first class. The only blip in the whole thing experience was the charge nurse seated at the entrance to A&E, who refused to allow me to be at my daughters side at a very frightening and painful time. I had been told by my daughter before I went to the hospital that I could be with her as nurse caring for her had said I could go, and other patients had family members with them. But on turning up the nurse said she would check, a different nurse who identified herself as the charge nurse then came out and informed me that the nurse caring for my daughter did not have the authority to tell me that as she was in charge. Her attitude was quite frankly dismissive and bordering on rude, she told me my daughter would be released soon and I should go wait in the cafe or my car. I went to the car confused and disappointed with the behaviour of this unpleasant individual. After an hour of waiting with my daughter messaging and becoming increasingly upset I decided to brave the charge nurse again, fortunately for me she was not on door when I returned another nurse said he would check and took me round to daughter who was actually not released for another 2 hours, so her assertion that she would be released soon was also very wrong. She left an upset 21 year old with breathing difficulties alone unnecessarily as a whim as far as I can tell. Well done to nurses who attempted to apologise for her behalf when they should not have had too ..

I have block in chest go govan hospital omg wow staff really very nice helping them because staff been very busy in hospital very excellent. Congratulations to staff must Nhs awards possible in future.

l had a great experience, staff were very pleasant and cheerful, although the signage could be abit better, needed help finding were to go but was quickly shown the right way and the NHS run café was hard to find

Beautiful building, but that's just the facade. The real beauty is the dedicated and empathetic staff; from consultants to cleaners, nurses to porters, they are the beating heart of the QEUH, and the pride of Scotland.

Fantastic staff in gynaecologist deserve a pay rise ,, thanks carol for the tea

A positive message of support for our local NHS. The Queen Elizabeth hospital and staff deserve a very special mention for their speedy response and caring for me in an informal professional way.
Earlier this week, Monday 16th August 2021 my life changed.
Within 3 days from referral by my own doctor to surgical assessment and operation I was returned home for ongoing care being mostly restored to roaring full health. A team of 35 were looking after me and are all appreciated. The hospital was busy and fairly stretched, humming along but I was looked after as an individual at all times .
Thank you all. Now I understand why the NHS is valued and loved.

After my covid treatment from which I fully recovered last week, I should have been allowed to leave to give the hospital bed to another needy patient. However the Medical Staff have had me waiting for several days for some unrelated test results but won't communicate anything to me other than I need to wait for them to tell me. Surely they don't need me to use the QEUH private room as a waiting room. They should be giving this valuable facility to another covid patient and allow me to return to discuss my results when the doctor or consultant is available. Waste of time and taxpayers resources and funds at a critical time.
G.
This was a traumatic time for our family and the way the staff treated us with dignity care and compassion won’t be forgotten. Thank you Lynn for sitting with me and just listening and for the comfort you gave because of you my heart has a little more peace.

A&E for the southside of Glasgow.
Royal Infirmary is for the North of Glasgow. If visiting use the high rise parking, as surface is always full.

Currently a totally dependent patient on ward 63
The nursing and ancillary staff are amazing. They are so hardworking and constantly positive.
You can see how hard they work but also how much they struggle to provide basic care.
Why do management think it is acceptable to run wards with insufficient staff and resources.
It is shameful that a nurse has to spend her working day in wet clothes and shoes as she has no protection when showering her patient.
Wake up managers your staff deserve better.
M. M.
Spent a couple of nights in ward 62 ☹. Nurses were outstanding with their level of care and support went above and beyond for me. Surgeon's explained everything and the ladies who pit me sleep were just wonderful. Thank you all so much ❤😬

My CT appointment was at 6.30pm and it was really quiet. The hospital was so clean and the security guys were there making sure you had a reason to be there. I didn't wait long to be taken and the scan took no more than 15 mins. The staff were amazing, they kept me informed about what was going to happen and kept talking during the scan, making sure I understood what was happening.

In one word "AMAZING". I just wanted to say a massive thank you to all support staff, nurses, doctors and medical specialists at the Queen Elizabeth (SATA and ARU5 units). They saved my life. Was so humbled to see how hard the staff work to care for the constant stream of very sick people that are admitted to hospital everyday. They are fantastic.
J. H.
I can't speak too highly of the care I received from the staff in this excellent hospital. From pre-op assessment through surgery and four days recovery on the ward, I was treated with care, respect, skill and courtesy so that I felt confident that I was in safe, caring hands throughout. With my own room with en suite toilet and shower, complete privacy and visitors free to stay at all times, I enjoyed a happy and relaxed stay in pleasant surroundings. I can see that staffing is a problem and it's to the credit of the nurses and all other staff that they provide such a high standard of care under the circumstances. My thanks to everyone I met there - thank you so much!
K. B.
All staff work hard. So grateful we have NHS
G. B.
Saved my life I love them! Their are overworked yet they're still willing to go the extra mile to save people's lives every day of the week 365 days per year. Especially as we all go through this very difficult time! We don't need actors, bankers, ect. Our heroes are the doctors and nurses that risk their own lives to save ours. Pay rise for the nurses and doctors but especially the nurse's! 110% RESPECT! ❤💯❤😪♥️ love you all! X

We were up at the Queen Elizabeth hospital today with our daughter for an appointment at the neurology clinic. We had parked round the corner in a disabled space. We walked round to the building for her appointment and to use the toilets. On leaving the main building to head back to the car we were asked if we would like a lift from one of your porters driving a buggy. We accepted and were glad that we did as it started to rain. He was very friendly and chatty. We don't know his name but would like to express our appreciation for his help especially since by the time we got back to the car it had started to rain. We visited the hospital today 25th of March 2021 so if you can work out who was on shift then around 1pm he deserves a bit of appreciation thanks Andrew O'Kane ayr

Great Children's A&E, very covid safe. The staff are amazing. The labour wards are horrible though, not the best place to spend the night. Brilliant maternity doctors and nurses so makes up for the horrible rooms and showers.
L. G.
Great hospital. But the cash office ladies really need to learn manners & customer service. Absolutely shocking the experience I’ve had in more than once. But thanks to nurse and doctors.
C. E.
Had an appointment for a test on my heart. Got through the main door and was escorted straight to where I needed to be by a friendly hospital guide. Wait in the waiting room was minimal and I was seen within 5 minutes of my alloted appointment time. A staff who dealt with me were friendly and polite and this made an unpleasant test much easier to deal with. Very happy with my treatment.
A. P.
Had the misfortune of spending a few days here following a heart attack.
The staff were outstanding although run ragged by the 1 person to a room policy. How they can keep an eye on every patient is a mystery but boy do they run about making sure everyone is taken care of.
The cardio physios were outstanding too and went above and beyond getting me on the mend.
On the negative side was the food. Sorry to be negative but you wouldn't feed that tasteless slop to a dog but I suppose it helped me to instantly lose weight (as recommended by the consultant at the time) :-)
M. W.
The Queen Elizabeth hospital is in the way you have to phone the ward's were ever some one is in to make a appointment for only 2 people at a time to go N see them . At the front door your of the building you can get masks N handsanitiser to wash your hands they encourage you to take a new mask every time you go in . The lift's are ristrected to 4 people at a time to go up them . You can buy papers N magazine sweets N chocolate juice and all types of stuff to take to the ward's to visit some one

My son Rohit B.C who is pursuing his Masters in Computer Science in Glasgow University has been admitted in your hospital since last week for a medical emergency. He has undergone surgery and is out of danger. The doctors and medical staff have taken utmost care of him during this critical times. I am his father from Bengaluru, India, thanking all the doctors and medical staff from the bottom of my heart during these critical times and the current pandemic situation which does not permit normal travel for us to be with him. Once again a big thanks to all the medical staff who have taken care of him.
L. C.
My husband has just been discharged from this hospital. The care by all grades of staff was exemplary and we found staff extremely polite and professional. Building is spacious and well designed. HOWEVER!
Two niggles ! Pick up points for immobile and elderly patients has not been well thorough through properly. I had to push my husband who is just recovering from a major procedure to his leg and cannot weight bear, in a wheelchair to the Visitor's car park a good 250 yards from the main entrance. This is unacceptable and needs addressing.
Secondly the procedure for elective admissions whereby you literally have to say goodbye in a large public area is frankly appalling. It is well known that patients going into hospital are at their most stressed on their admission date yet I was refused access to the ward area even to say goodbye! I had no intention of staying more than a few minutes but I was told, despite both my husband and I being visibly distressed, by the nurse politely that I had to say goodbye at the door. In 2016 this is not good practice and I challenge any nurse or doctor or any one in fact in the same circumstances as ourselves to be happy with this for whatever policy or reason may be in place!
T. F.
Waited a bit in a busy AnE, seen by Dr Ciaran McK who was absolutely brilliant with me.Thanks again

Was in on Tuesday 6th April for back surgery, from the first moment I walked into this hospital I was treated like a queen,,From Adam in admissions,Lynn looking after me before my op and everyone in recovery room they were marvelous. Moving up to 2a the care I received was second to none .you hear so many negative things about this hospital but I cannot rate it high enough..thank you all so much Anne Wallace
A. S.
I was going to write a review but first I think what should happen is, once your treatment is done or your all healthy to leave they should maybe show you a bill, the cost for treatment with every little price for everything used. Then at the bottom because your here and we are the NHS cost to you nothing today. All these waiting time complaints in here make me sick its a huge hospital you may very well get told you'll be seen in 2hrs, or your going home just waiting on results. Meanwhile behind the doors an emergency happens a whole other family in distress as there loved one could be seconds away from death, but I'm all good just gonna moan to be seen or to get home. Our 7 wk old baby was saved here staff etc were amazing some looked knackered others look like the soul is getting taken from them. 12hr shifts for 4 days then off 3 back in. Can they relax can they shut off before coming back nope. Especially with the pandemic. Anyway if they did a price breakdown and let you see then I think there would be less moaning
V. J.
One of the biggest hospital in Glasgow. They have separate units and department. Different building for maternity unit, children hospital and all. Very good staff and facility. Many car parkings are there like near main hospital and children hospital and near maternity unit. Easy to reach by bus from city.
Buses like mcgil 23, stagecoach x19 etc.

Fantastic hospital, staff are amazing looked after us

We had to take our dsughter to qeuh tonight as she split her head open. We couldn't stop it bleeding, i knew she needed it glued. I goodled our nearest minor injuries unit & it came up as the new victoria. I phoned them to double check as it seemed daft to bypass qeuh to go to victoria. The lovely lady on the phone assured me i should go to qeuh & that i wouldnt be wasting their time with such a minor injury!! At the qeuh all the staff were amazing. Because of covid, only one of us cld go in with her, so her daddy went cos she's a daddie's girl. They saw nurse lizzie who was amazing & were in & out in 40 mins!! Quickest a&e visit ever. Sat fir hours in the past with my older kids. Very impressed with every covid/reception & progressive treatment procedure in place!!
Hope not to be back soon, but if something happens that we need to, i'd be happy, confident & comfirtable to come back!! Keep up the good work & stay safe!!❤❤

Visiting for appointments for MRI and Xray. Both teams where very professional and helpful, explained everything to my child before the procedure. Good bus links meant not long hanging around too

Today after a call to 111 mark the call handler referred me to minor ailments and this review is for all NHS staff today from the porter who brought a wheelchair to the nurses that took the temperature check to the nurse that checked me in and the physio who took time to carefully examine and help me, but mainly its for Jennifer in minor ailments her care and attention was amazing she really helped me and I left there today feeling so positive about the future. Thanks everyone..Jennifer your a star

Received the most amazing care and help from all staff ...
I tore a groin muscle . The help and care I got was incredible during the pandemic..
Porters took me everywhere as I couldn't walk. Even to my car in third level of carpark. Love you guys x
L. M.
I was in three different departments of the hospital while a pacemaker was fitted. My entire experience was superb. There was an air of comforting professionalism throughout and the staff could not have been better nor kinder. I cannot bestow sufficient praise.
S. D.
Best hospital for maternity patients well mannered and well maintained place has a huge bus stop outside where we can get buses from end to end of the city.

My mum was in southern general for almost a year. The staff were amazing and well experienced in spinal injuries. Always kind and accommodating to visitors. They definitely improved my mum's quality of life and I'm so grateful to them
D. C.
I took myself to A&E with chest pains. Upon notifying reception on arrival. I had only sat down for couple of minutes before being taken to triage. Where bloods were taken. BP and temp checked. And then was put on heart monitor. Very prompt and was put at ease and I am very pleased with how it was done. Equally on the CCU ward. Lovely staff. It's so reassuring we have such wonderful dedicated people in the NHS.
R. H.
The hospital is beautiful, modern and clean, though stepping through the doors it felt more like an airport or shopping centre than a hospital. Upon entry we were directed to a machine in the corner to confirm that we had arrived. It directed us to the department we needed to be in. Unfortunately, it seems the systems do not communicate with the departments and after waiting for over an hour a receptionist came over and asked who we were. It seems they had no idea we had arrived and so we'd missed our appointment. Fortunately, after another hour waiting we were able to see the doctor. Unfortunately, we then had to wait for another hour for a nurse to take a blood sample. If they can ever get it functioning as beautifully as it looks, it'll be a five star medical facility, but it's not there yet.

**!!THANK YOU NHS WORKERS!!**
Exceptional staff. Very friendly and caring who put their lives on the line for us COVID wise every day.
Knowing health workers who have tragically lost their lives due to this, I really appreciate their bravery and wish to send my gratitude.
There'll be hard times catching up with the delay caused by all of this and I'm sure they'll power through those with as much determination as they tackled the pandemic itself.
Fingers crossed the vaccines represent a new dawn.
J. P.
Staff are great but can see they're under pressure and still manage to keep a smile on faces.
s. h.
I recently had a stay in both ward 61 and ward 65. I can't tell you just how much all the staff right from the bottom of the ladder to the top were. They were faultless. Nothing at all was ever a problem. I felt in such good caring hands. The best hospital with enough staff, which made it good if someone needed a wee bit extra care and attention. Restful stay.
A very grateful Shona Haggerty 😊

Only visiting but have found the treatment and care administered has been fantastic

I have received the most amazing care from this hospital and am still currently receiving it. Being as sick as I have been over the past 5 weeks it has been amazing to have been treated with such respect and humility by all the nurses. They have all lifted my spirts at some point and go the extra mile. Nurses especially should be treated like gold! Having never used the NHS before I can honestly say it's an unbelievable service for the people of the UK. And everything should be kept to keep it going. Staff at Ward 64, the QEUH are one of a kind!!
I. t.
People write off this hospital . I had to be taken twice. And all staff were great. Amazing NHS..THANKYOU to ambulance staff who in pandemic were first to be with people who had covid19. These people are AMAZING.
S. J.
Can't thank the staff enough on the High dependency unit and Ward 10 D for the wonderful care they're giving and have given my wife Sue. Everyone has been very helpful, friendly and caring

My Dad recently was admitted with a bleed in his brain at almost 84 years old
The surgeon saved his life and the nurses doctors and auxiliaries were wonderful
We will be forever grateful for all they did for my dad and he is now home and doing well slowly
We appreciate how over worked they all are and still they do their utmost to deliver a wonderful service to all their patients we are all extremely grateful to have our lovely dad, grandpa and great grandpa home . Thankyou from the bottom of our hearts xxxxx❤️🏴

A stunning building to marvel, staff are fantastic, caring and take their time, ensuring that you know what you need to.
Also, their food is acceptable. I wouldn't say it's amazing but its not rubbish. They have a wide selection of hot and cold foods as well as beverages.
Clearly, I wouldn't recommend but hope that if you need to attend that you make a speedy recovery.
J. W.
I could quite happily live here !
Only problem I have is I'm a smoker......
Wish they had a smokers lounge like they used to, but that's not possible nowadays.
Otherwise great food and shopping mall though no alcohol !
Nursing care is fantastic and food mostly excellent. Doctors the best as well.
The wards with private rooms and your own bathroom and television are like a luxury hotel !
Sockets to plug in your phone charger as well.
Climate control in the wards.........
Absolutely the best.
M. S.
My dad had a major spinal injury and after surgery and a period in the rehabilitation unit he managed to get back on his feet again. The staff here are fantastic at their jobs. They treated him with dignity during a really difficult time and played a major part in his recovery. There is no other hospital like it! A big thank-you for all they do!
J. G.
My mum was admitted on Saturday the same day I had to be taken in after falling off a horse both of us were dealt with via A & E staff who were fantastic with both us and our family, they explained everything and investigated both our situations fully. Thank you very much to both Ian the young doctor and Mags who took care of me both fantastic sorry as I was in a different room I'm not sure of the female doctor who took care of my mum but she was fantastic too.

Wife fitted with pacemaker after emergency admission. Staff, from porters through to consultant were friendly, knowledgable and professional. Treatment was excellent; yes there has been criticism of new facilities, however these tend to be political point scoring, or ill considered comments. Please allow the staff to get on with what they do best.
C. T. C.
The staff in the children's hospital are incredible. My son was recently there and they dilligently helped him, they even had someone to entertain him! My thanks to the children's hospital, it is truly a blessing to our country🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
P. B. (.
Attending for cancellation appointment, taken on time and great consultation

I Understand that even pre-covid 19 the staff , all of them are underpaid, under-?valued and under cared for themselves. However the super hospital has been plagued by one catastrophe after another, from pigeon poo, to infected water, windows falling out but into the gantry below and a piece glass hitting from thayvheight would kill anyone. My household and family and I support a hefty pay rise for the heroes who have risked their own lives to save ours. Give these people a pay rise FIRST and then perhaps with a contented workforce perhaps we will see a hospital that's fit for purpose not what it was meant to be nor what its supposed to be but a hospital any city in the world would be proud of. I feel for the staff working their backsides off in a new hospital plagued with problems just shy of a laughing joke. When people/staff feel that they are being treated fairly more often than not you will see output and effort double or more. Come on NHS Scotland get the finger out.
N. F.
Sent here last night by my GP every nurse I seen was excellent, got transferred over to Clinical Decision Unit (think that’s what it’s called) seen a Nurse Practioner who was great and thorough and put me at ease, very friendly guy and very well run unit. Nurses really don’t get the credit they deserve, never seen a doctor and didn’t need to nurses dealt with everything.
B. M.
The care and treatment offered to sick kids in this hospital is beyond reproach. No words can describe how grateful we are for the professionalism, dedication and life saving skills that were offered by staff. God bless the NHS.
E. J.
I had a right hip replacement in the hospital last week. Post op I was in ward 10 A. Amazing staff each and every one. I was extremely well cared for from leaving the theatre to being taken to the airport by ambulance to travel home. I cannot thank you all enough. You are a credit to the health service
S. M.
Helpers at entrance very welcoming and took me to where I needed to be also very knowledgeable and friendly
S. B.
It's a nice clean hospital, wheelchair accessible and frequent bus to and from the city centre.
U.
Our Daughter got admitted here late last night to ward 2c. All staff we encountered could not be more helpful. Very attentive to our needs, warm and friendly. Hospital was very warm. Good facilities too.
S. B.
The hospital itself has private rooms with over the bed TV,s free of charge the food is very tasty and edible unlike other Hospitals, and the Staff each and every one of them are a delight, they are so respectful to the Patients. From Surgeons, Doctors Nurses Catering Staff and Cleaners each and every one of them shows respect to you that is something special. Whatever training is given to them should be passed on to Society in general. Then this World would be a better place. So from me it's a Big, Big Thank You to each and every Member of Staff who cared for me on my recent Admission.
S. C.
I had an appointment at urogynaecology last Wednesday and was feeling very anxious but as soon as I was called in by a lovely nurse called Janice she put me right at ease. She is a credit to your hospital.
G. M.
A big thank you to Mr Rana and his surgical team for my total hip replacement, also the admitting staff who were all very friendly, explaining all procedures that put me at ease before the the operation. I would also like to thank all the nursing staff and assistants on ward 10A including physios and occupational therapist they staff are a credit to the NHS thank you all
L. H.
Don't normally do reviews but can't fault every single member of staff I met today whilst having elbow surgery. Amazing staff, treatment & facilities. All put me at ease and helped me through a day I was dreading. I might still be high on meds and nerve block still keeping pain at bay but had to praise Makes you realise what a fantastic job the NHS do and we take for granted. Superb facilities.
E. B.
I felt anxious coming to this hospital, hadn't been in here before, but my stay couldn't of been any better, everyone has been so nice, my room is nice and clean, food lovely and hot. Everyone has been nice to me, from people who were carrying out my operation, all staff, cant fault it,
L. B.
My mum is in Ortho ward 10b. After her op she was quite poorly, the nurses were in her room every 10 mins checking on her. The attention they gave her was second to none. The nurses were lovely. Mum cant praise them highly enough, through their care and attention my mum was on an even keel by late afternoon. Compassion and dedication, true nurses. Special thanks to Val a truely caring person.
k. l.
To all the staff that are looking after me currently on ward 62 and the team who operated on me today. I would like to say a big thankyou. It's never good to be poorly but to have a team of people who are so professional, caring, courteous and always willing to give extra to help it's nice to see, I don't recommend being poorly but would recommend this hospital in a heartbeat to get better. Thanks again Keith
R. T.
the security guys on the front door who sometimes stop to ask everyone entering if they any "staff ID" are quite tedious, its a hospital paid for via general taxes and frequented by members of the general public, let people walk inside in peace
D. R.
Excellent care and as I had to travel from Na h-Eileanan Siar for appointments they were very accommodating when scheduling to fit in with timetables. An ad hoc MRI scan was arranged, again to simplify my travel requirements.
I commend the staff and facilities completely.
m. w.
The red staff are friendly if you get lost or your not sure how to get to your appointment. There are lots of parking spaces you have three multistorey car parks.
A. R.

m. i.
My partner spent time In the respiratory ward and all of the staff there where absolutely lovely to both of us. The facilities are to a very high standard and you are provided with more than enough to make your stay there as comfortable as you can be
P. K.
The children’s A&E waiting times are an absolute joke. We were waiting for about 45 minutes and most of that time was spent standing as there was not enough seating.
The staff were fantastic and took great care of my daughter.
f. G.
Excellent hospital and a wonderful staff went today 7 9 2021 to accident emergency and was treated by courteous efficient staff for my head injury and clear guidance for my recovery at home.
Frank Gallacher Bearsden.
D. B.
Staff are top notch here, it's the way they get treated that isn't, at least in terms of having appropriate work wear in hot days (maybe thinner, summer tunics)
Same goes for the rooms ; poor ventilation is leading to really stuffy rooms, not that great if you're a patient here , *ahem*
That's the only thing stopping me from giving this place a perfect score.
I really hope this is taken seriously as I will be reporting this otherwise.
W. S.
This hospital really changed my opinion of it today after all the horrible news storys when it first opened.
I had to take my dad up today due to chest pains we were seen within 15minutes despite the hospital being busy, we were in no more than two hours, doctors done all approoriate tests and gave him the all clear.
Well Done Dr Seb and Courtney the nurse!!!
S. P.
Had to take my son to A&E. Triage, Dr, specialist and Consultant all seen him within 2hrs. Meds provided. Tea offered. Friendly, professional and competent. Thank you to all the staff. Very proud of our NHS.
l. m.
Large hospital - visiting times are open but parking (NCP) may be difficult depending on the time of day. Staff helpful and everything is sign posted. There are a number of places to eat within the hospital for staff and visitors and plenty seating. Ajoined with the Children's hospital next door.
S. M.
Was in this hospital for 7 months altogether. Intensive care x4, high dependency, respiratory level 7, intensive care neuro, Langlands, stroke ward 1c.
Doctors and nurses were amazing, super hospital
S. Y.
A nice and big hospital. Nice service. They quickly handled us after even though we had to study more than an hour for research. Pleasant atmosphere. Personally, I recommend it because I have a nice experience.
A. T.
5 days in ward 63 after spinal surgery. All staff were fantastic, caring, very professional. Surgeon absolutely wonderful, an absolute gentleman. Food good too!
c. m.
Amazing service and what a great bunch of staff. We are so lucky to have this free service in our country. Well done to the nurses, doctor, radiographer and porter staff who looked after me.
E. m.
Underfunded for how vital it is, would be lost without the nurses would be 5 star if they had more than 1 physio and speech therapist to go around the whole hospital
K. C.
My grandson received wonderful quick and kind attention during the recent accident to his thumb. Our NHS is fantastic. We are so lucky to have a hospital like this
J. M.
My Wife was admitted to the QEUH just before Christmas and was quite ill.She was treated in A and E,placed in an overnight ward and then into ward 7b.She was treated in there for over 3 weeks.Had brilliant care from all the staff from the minute we entered the building.
Special thanks go to all the guys and gals in ward 7b respitory, especially John "from Possil" Colin ,William and the Philipino? chap who took orders for meals.Cant remember everyones name but Sharon was one of the S/N i can remember, only because i had reason to speak with her.
Once again many thanks to these great people, keep up the good work.
Jim Mckinney

my father had a broken neck some staff were very rude when i explained to them that my fathers house was not suitable for him to go home too they said well he can walk so he can go home!!!!! sent home with paracetamol were he needed morphine for the pain i wonder if staff at southern had a broken neck they would be sent home on there own or without proper medication
J. A.
It's a hospital, a fine one at that, just like any other hospital, its stretched to its limits.
L. C.
Hard working staff who are short staffed but working together as TEAM NURSES IN ICU AMAZING ANGELS WHILE SAVING PEOPLE'S LIVES
D. A.

I would like to give Linda from HDU a huge thank you and the highest regard on her personal care, endless support and complete commitment to my brother in law Garry Stone, who passed away on Monday 15th April 2019. Linda you should be given the highest honour in your work. You said its your job but you truly went beyond that and so much more. Thank you from Garrys family and bless you.

They say our hospitals are bad , they mone about this & that. But they have saved many lives mine ur dad ur mum ur sister we take them all in the NHS for granted . it may be ur life one day . In there hands . God.bless them from the tea lady to the top man.
A. B.
Great staff, beautiful hospital the parking is horendous we drove about 30 mins in multi storie lucky we spotted a lady leaving 10 mins late for neurology appt..most parking is for staff permit holders only. I think you need to address this problem.
A. R.
Brain surgery went great, was looked after so well, couldn't be more grateful for the care they give patients.
J. W.
The closure of most Glasgow hospitals (for flat development) and emergence of the 'Death Star' is part of life's constant changes, like Windows 10 being a complete bag of bollocks, but that's all there is. Like it or lump it.
QEUH is no better and no worse than its worst staff, which may not be terrible, EXCEPT that the lifts in the main building were designed by a halfwit. A drunken halfwit with unmet special educational needs and a pathological wish to stamp his/her own perverse vision of optimum functionality on a core service for people of whom the majority are in deep physical or mental distress. The QEUH lifts are the very worst in existence, and are a major part of the public 'face' of the institution. Go figure.
S. B.
One of the best hospitals I have had to attend. Every doctor, nurse, porter and admin staff member were massively reassuring and compassionate.
A. M.
Best hospital to be in if your wee one is unwell. What a well organised hospital with great doctors. Thank you Dr Lizzy! Best pediatric urologist with a bright future!!!
J. M.
I received wonderful care here in ARU and ward 7b. The facilities were great - so nice to have a single room and ensuite toilet while ill.

My initial contact with the hospital was through A&E about 6pmish on 29/12/19 i was discharged on the 01/01/20 late afternoon, i was admitted with kidney stones and apart from the shambolic A&E/admissions process my stay at the QEUH was first class, the care i received from every member of staff was fantastic and for this i thank every one of you
A. A.
They are taking very good care of my wife. The staff is amazing. The wards are clean and modern and the treatment is very humane and professional.

I was admitted to the Southern General in early March 2012. I underwent brain surgery and received excellent care from the dedicated neurological staff at Ward 63. They saved my life.
S. K.
Can't fault the hospital. When I unexpectedly ended up being admitted with my son on two occasions that nurses and surgeons were brilliant with us.
M. B.
Saw a Mr Alani this morning at the Out Patients. An excellent manner which looks at the patient as a whole He didn't see me simply as "a patient with a lump",but recognised the impact of my other chronic conditions on further tests etc.If the student sitting in follows in this doctors footsteps he can't go wrong.Mr Alani was professional and caring(please tell all doctors how important the act of shaking a patients hand is....it really does establish a bond even in a short appointment.)Following on from another review getting from the multi storey with my husband pushing me in a wheelchair, needs better planning....so can't give the architects 5*s!
B. M.
Quick , your jusf in and out ,tried to explain somthing to the doctor and she didnt interact , it was as though she was not listening !!!
P. C.
Staff are lovely and caring ! Mark in ARU 2 was absolutely brilliant !! Such a credit to his profession x

Asides from the Gestapo like nurse guarding the door interrogating every person who requires medical attention, the rest of the staff were very attentive and have helped move along a serious hand injury.

I cannot believe negative comments,1996 & 2011 I suffered brain hems,Mr P Barlow (now retired) & Miss J Brown,if was'nt for these dedicated surgeons I would not be here, been admitted many times,as follow up care, & "CARE" is certainly what I got,all staff I have encountered, could not have been more caring.Don't think enough staff in new part, but that is not patients or staffs fault, don't know enough about politics, but think there," lies the problem" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
L. S.
Couldn't fault this hospital. Was meant to be in for day surgery but got kept in. Room and staff fantastic

For a hospital it's great but for a building it needs to invest in window cleaners, the building is filthy and the front entrance needs jetwashed, not a great advert for hygiene.
