Nicu department- outstanding.
We got transferred to this hospital from our local hospital which is over an hour away. We hadn’t got a clue what to expect or what was happening at first, within 10 minutes after transfer was complete and handover sorted, the doctors and nurses fully informed us on what to expect and what was happening. We certainly cannot thank you enough.
I would love to name the nurses and doctors, but I know we didn’t personally meet the night nurses who dealt with our baby, so I do not want to leave anyone out. So just a massive thank you to all of you.
Amazing service we received.

MRI team absolutely excellent. Just had a scan this afternoon and the team were great. Everything happened with minimal waiting and the staff were lovely, keeping me informed about everything they were doing and making sure that I was relaxed throughout. Thanks for making the experience a very positive one.

The staff looked after my grandma very well. She was satisfied with the meals provided apart from the porridge. The only problem is visiting hours. You have to call at 8.30am on the day you want to visit for an hour slot and two people can visit in that hour. They were quite good asking a rough time you would prefer and the day I went we managed to stay for an hour and a half which was good.

I went to A&E for mental health related conditions and the staff were lovely. Non judgemental and I was seen quickly. The staff made the whole experience a whole lot calmer and they were quick to reassure me when I got nervous. Thank you so much for everything!

From introducing myself at reception in my clinic to leaving I had been treated with respect and kindness, concern, professionalism with a friendly attitude. All the staff from reception to the consultant were excellent.

Thank you for the care I received yesterday 9/04/22, it was a long wait but when its busy that cannot be helped. Desk staff kind, nurses first class and the Doctor ubove and beyond.
Thanks to you all keep up the great work

Brilliant service from LRI A & E. Following awful service from our local GP surgery over two weeks where they tried everything to avoid seeing my partner about a concerning problem, we attended A and E at LRI in desperation. They were so understanding and helpful and arranged an appointment for my partner for the following day at the hospital. Thank you so much.

Driving through Leicester to get the from the outside of the city is, as always a nightmare. Parking wasn't too bad in the grounds.
Directions to get to the dept was really straightforward and the care from the staff was exceptional.

This is a very large hospital with an a & e department. Limited parking with long queues sometimes to park your vehicle.
There are modern departments and departments that could do with an overhaul.
Most medical issues are dealt with here with a lot of outpatient departments.

Thank the lord for small mercies and a brilliant Heamataligist. One that wasn't going to bleed me dry...... Praise be for brill nurses.

From how wonderful the paramedics that took me to the Royal, I knew I would be in good hands. I went to A&E and was processed into the Acute Medical Unit.
The staff from nurses to porters, from doctors to cleaners were exceptional. Very courteous, always helpful and so human in their approach.
No matter what illness, what background you are from, patients were treated equally and with the greatest respect.
I can't thank them enough for helping me through my illness.

From the bottom of my heart a massive big thank you to the staff at the LRI Ophthalmology Suite and the EFU ward. My 87 year old mum came in for an eye operation on 16/11/21 and had to be kept in overnight. The care she received was first class. The staff went over and beyond. They helped to calm my fears as I was very worried about my mum. I kept asking loads of questions and even though the staff were rushed off their feet they took time to explain things in a calm and professional manner.

Fantastic first class care from every member of staff.I had a few tests done and didn't have to wait long.A nurse even came round asking if anyone wanted a tea or coffee which was nice.
Thank you for being so kind and caring to me.
You all do a fantastic job and always manage to be polite and kind under so much pressure.

2 hrs waiting to be seen by Triage followed by another 5 hrs to be admitted and seen by medical staff. However once seen the care I received was faultless.
S. D.
My daughter was born here last week. My partner had a couple of days wait on the ward for a slot to have her waters broken but so what it’s busy. All the maternity staff were exceptional. As were the doctors who looked after her following a necessary procedure.
Maybe the place is slightly understaffed yes and you have to wait. Be thankful for the exceptional care we receive in this country
D. L.
Nurse pat working in ent day case unit is very king and very helpful and receptionist ali hussain was very kind
Dr murtuza muktiyar is the best doctor we met ever in our life
Many thanks to everyone guise

Good Hospital. My wife delivered here. Very nice staff. Thank you very much for your care🙏🙏

I broke my clavicle, (collar bone), and was seen by a paramedic within half an hour. She referred me to X-ray where again I was seen within half an hour. Back k to A&E and treated within an hour. A great experience on the whole, staff were all professional and really helpful.

I was admitted to ward 16 with a wound infection after colerectal surgery six weeks earlier, which needed an operation. Consultant was kind and attentive. then it all went downhill. I was left sitting waiting for a bed for five hours in the waiting room. Was eventually put into a side room, and again after obs, left with no water, no nurses checked on me, I had a room with no blinds or curtains on view to people opposite, so no privacy. After my operation 3 days later, I was told I was to go home, having been operated on a 11.30am this was 5pm.I didn't see a doctor, no meds were ready, told to get pain relief from the chemist. The sad thing is, the Care has gone out of the NHS. Over worked, underpaid, no time to give patients the time they need. Awful. just Awful.
M. D. (.
Post being admitted, 13h waiting time for bed. Next to me teenager 26h waiting for bed. I have been told I will be discharged today even without reply from other department. Before 5pm they changed mind and asked to stay overnight. My case will be first at next day morning. Note was not handed by them to anyone. I stacked for whole next day. Called by me nurses, asked about find out whats going on ,did not boder to do anything by 6h. I had to find doctors by myself and ask. They first time heard about me at time. Discharging time took 36h. I was admitted with hypertension and discharged with depression. So many people with bad condition need bed and carry, suffer in pain on A&E or in other waiting areas. Lost NHS money from our taxes. Empathy less, disgrace.....

Visited x-ray today for A CT scan with contrast. My first ever I have allergies and was so anxious and scared I wanted to leave. Jonathan was amazing with me such care and understanding
he detailed and explained everything I had my scan with contrast with No reaction . Thank you Jonathan and thank you NHS You are doing an amazing job to keep us all safe . 😊

It was a nice places and the nurses were all helpful and homely.

I came in to and e on Thursday 28th September. A particular nurse looked after me greatly. I had a possible dvt. I don't know her name but she had ginger hair. She was amazing as are all nhs staff. They were fantastic at a difficult time for me .thankyou NHS. Nigel Lovett.
J. F.
Visited GPAU department today and received great service ant treatment from great staff, many thanks
S. L.
Appointment taken on time and was conducted in a polite, friendly and professional manner providing advice and follow-up referral as required, no complaints whatsoever
H. S.
Cheers for a successful operation a few years back👍🏻
Big shout out to Bradley who is the funniest chap working here😂

I came in on the 4th with a leg injury and was very quickly sent to injury, unfortunately I missed medication in triage but thankfully looked after in the injury department. Alice was very apologetic and was obviously overworked but considerably caring at such a hard time. I was also helped by an amazing man both on way to injury and back to the car park that I cant recommend enough. The doctor I saw was brilliant and precise but both Alice and the porter were extremely helpful and kind.

Blah Blah Blah , i had to wait 4 hrs , i hads to wait 6 hrs , i had chest pain and think im a DR , Get a grip people ! Be thankful. The Drs and Nurses do a great job and such bad pay for it. Keep up the good work everyone at the LRI.

Usually have to endure QMC or City Hospital, so I had low expectations, but since arriving all the staff in the A&E dpt here have been absolutely fantastic.
All the nurses have been so kind and supportive, the level of organisation is worlds apart from Notts, the equipment is modern, functioning and stocked up.
Even on New Year's Day at 5am, (coming off a long night shift) all the staff were both efficient and attentive.
Medical staff like these really make the difference when you're vulnerable and in pain!
A. G.
Great place to work. Staff are brilliant and there is a genuine appetite for improvement.
J. A.
Parking is awful here, best to travel in the bus or train if you can. Its a huge site so allow plenty of time to get to your appointment. It's not easy to know where to go since all the bug developments.

No arrival in A&E on 23rd March 2021
In terrible pain, I was almost seen on arrival, painkillers, bloods and CT scan, and then being moved to EDU, and what amazing ward this is,
First and mostly 5 star clean. And professional and caring people
Ellie one of the nurse, who helped me get home, was a fantastic lady, so understanding caring truthful and listening, and explaining my CT scan to me, that mean alor to me x and to me this made my very worring time at LRI, easier to understand 🙏
You are a diamond 💎 Thank you🌈
I. K.
This is Judith Knox writing. I was recently admitted from A& E to ward 18 then moved to ward 32. Just would like to say a sincere thank you to all the medical staff who looked after me so well, including A& E .Also catering and cleaning staff.. The general care was excellent and much appreciated .
t.
I have been trying to talk to somebody over the phone at LRI about family member who was admitted people on switchboard were very polite but that's as far as I got I got transferred to 3 different departments and nobody picked phone up nobody knows what is wrong with the family member I live 100 miles away so it's not that easy to get to the hospital from where I am
P. B.
I have to commend children’s A&E as well as Ward 11 for looking after our 20 month year old son this week. The level of care and attention from all of the staff was second to none. Ward 11 is very well set up for children too - he absolutely loved the fish tank, play room, and all manner of ride on toys to zoom up and down the corridor on. Really grateful for all the wonderful doctors, nurses and support staff.
K. K.
After going to see my doctor at my local surgery, she was concerned enough to call for an ambulance. The care from my doctor, the paramedics (who were truly wonderful, when I was feeling upset) and all the staff at A&E and in Majors was incredible. Everyone was so kind, efficient and lovely and really put me at ease. I cannot speak highly enough of the care I received.
J. S.
I was rushed into a and e today. I have never been treated so well from triage to the urgent surgery. There are a few people I would like to thank including Nas, Kloda and all the nurse teams plus the people who helped me get round the hospital to x Ray etc. The whole team helped me so much and I am very grateful for this. Thank you again.
F. G.
Cannot praise highly enough after 2 separate visits over the past 10 days. Staff were fantastic, waiting times were minimal and the social distancing in place made me feel safe and cared for. Well done LRI.
C. D.
When I was 12 weeks pregnant I had just come bacl from a long haul flight and my legs were swollen. I was concerned so went to A&E, although I had to wait an extremely long time to be seen (which is to be expected - they are doing their best) I was offered a drink and food as it was very early in the morning and I had had my blood pressure taken and it was low. The staff were calm and patient with me, I was tired, grumpy and not very mobile. They did a good job of calming me down. I can't speak for all but the NHS is a great service that we shouldnt knock, after all you are receiving FREE medical care, its better than going private.
G. C.
10 out of 10. Excellent care from the adult emergency department & ward 16. Approx 25 staff helped me in one way or another, all the while dealing with extra covid precautions. The staff don't get paid enough frankly. Thanks NHS staff.
T. H.
Having had a stay here, I can honestly say that the staff are hard working, comforting, compassionate and professional. We are so lucky to have an NHS,
P. C.
I don’t care what bad reviews people leave but our NHS care really is second to none. A&E staff and Majors staff were amazing and friendly and very reassuring. Can’t thank them and praise them enough. The East Midlands Ambulance crew were amazing too. Thank you all for your help and support. They are all doing a wonderful job under a strain and are under-paid for the work they do and the abuse they get. Work with them and not against them, you won’t get the same treatment and benefits anywhere else in the world.
H. R.
Brilliant service in A&E on Christmas Day - thank you to everyone who worked.
P. M.
We have had the most excellent service from all the staff. From the moment we entered the accident and emergency reception the whole team has been outstanding. surgery was the only option this happened at 01:30. They worked nonstop to ascertain the cause of the problem. And we have been treated extremely well by all concerned. Especially in ICU and ward 22. Some of the staff were at the end of a 12hr shift. But they were still working flat out. We are both very grateful for all there help and dedication
s. w.
The nurses in the blood and ECG room are AMAZING. Never had such a good experience. I am terrified of blood tests and needles and they made me feel so relaxed. Cannot rate them highly enough!
C. 0.
I know many slate the nhs, but at A&E I could see how over worked they were, but they still did a good job. I was admitted to ward 9 and the staff were lovely, taking care of all of us on the ward, day and night, and were sensitive to my nerves. The cleanliness was high, with cleaners coming often. The food was nice, with a good menu to choose from, a little over heated but otherwise good. They were also kind enough to sort me a liquid medication instead of tablets. Thank you ward 9. Though I hope I don't have to see you again 😏
P. A.
I took my friend to the hospital with a suspected broken ankle, we were seen very quickly had a X-ray a and then given the good news that it wasn’t broken and told what we should do to reduce the swelling and what to take for the pain, and then we were back home in just under 2 hours, we’ll done for such a speedy admission and conclusion.
The LRI is fantastic I have had to come many times with my son and have always found the staff really lovely and helpful.

Just had my gallbladder out. The op was scheduled for Monday 9/9 but was cancelled last mimute and re scheduled for today. I have to say that although I was disappointed about my cancellation the staff made up for it by being excellent and caring. My consultant Mr Chris Neal was excellent. His patient care was amazing. Thank you Mr Neal. Also thank you to ALL the staff from admission to theatre to discharge. You were brilliant. Liz Stevens

Waiting times in some clinics are very poor
Can sit for up to an hour if not more!
Not good when you finally get called & walk down to the consultants room & see them laughing & joking around in the corridor whilst having a nice cup of coffee & a bit of leisure time!
If your clinic is running late then you should make every effort to catch up!
Please remember that people are paying excessive parking charges etc & really don't want to be kept waiting or even be there in the first place
It's not a social visit!

A&E
I don't like coming to A&E unless absolutely necessary but was sent here via my gp, who was concerned about my knee after it was bent the wrong way in an incident with a wall and I couldn't walk properly.
It's the first time I've been since they did the place up and was quite impressed, very clean and airy.
Adults and children are now in separate departments for ease.
There's security there too and were on the ball when someone pointed out an unattended bag left in the area for sometime.
Thankfully nothing untoward, it was left by a patient who forgot to take it with them.
Receptionists on arrival were helpful and I was seen relatively quickly, given it was A&E.
The Dr I was seen by was really nice and had a student Dr with her who was also nice.
Can't fault the staff and Dr's/Nurses on duty and NHS for the care given, thank you so much.
So grateful and lucky we've got you.❤

I really appreciate the service I had today ! I had to visit the adult injuries section due to a cut I had , the procedure was very simple and organised , I was temperature checked and asked the procedural questions regarding COVID-19, then I was guided to the injuries section , there was the big surprise as I was assisted by Paris who Was extremely nice and patient , I explained that I felt pain and was nervous . Then I was guided to have an X-ray before proceeding with the stitches and then was the second nice surprise as Paris called her colleague Hellaine to talk to me while going through the stitches and reduce my stress . I didn’t feel any pain and both Paris and Hellaine were amazingly talkative and caring !
Thank you so Paris and Thank you Hellaine !

My daughter was admitted to ward 11 on 23/09/2017 for a day case removal of tonsils, everything went very well I was VERY pleased with the whole day and care of my child, the ward seemed very clean and tidy with VERY helpful staff.
She has been home nearly 24 hours and making a GREAT recovery, I think ALL the staff need a pat on the back and a BIG thank you from me and my daughter.
R. D.
It was incredibly busy, yet I never sensed that things were 'out of control.' On the contrary the staff were polite, cheerful and professional. I was accompanying my wife who was rather nervous, but she was always treated with respect by the staff, who paid close attention to all she said. Our visit took over two hours, but we didn't have an appointment and never felt we had been forgotten. I was so impressed with my visit, from the multi story carpark to the time we left. The staff were wonderful, and we left feeling that we had received great treatment from wonderful, caring people.
T. M.
Surprisingly good experience. The time.spent there was fairly long, but everything got seen to, in a clean safe environment.

My wife gave birth to our baby girl at C Section on 18th of Feb 2021,before the operation midwife and surgeons came and talk to us and gave my wife good confidence till they complete the operations they were brilliant, then my wife moved to ward 5,all midwife are very helpful, thank you everyone from maternity section, stay safe, god bless

I understand that the NHS is understaffed and under equipped but they do not help themselves 🤦♀️ I had to be referred to have my wisdom teeth removed as they keep getting infected. I was given a consultation which I think they guy talking to me may have been doing his first day because I seemed to know more than him and I'm not a health professional 🤔 anyway he said the next time I hear from them it will be an app for surgery but instead I get a letter a week later for a pre assessment app. This is to do tests such as checking height, weight, blood pressure etc but this could have all been done and dusted in the consultation and would have taken 2 minutes. Not only that but every time I go I have to fill out different forms saying the same thing about my medical history when they can just type in my NHS number into their computer and BAM! There my medical history. No rocket scientist needed there and I just saved a bunch of trees and a lot of money from printing paper 😂
A lot of the doctors here are very dismissive. I also went hospital due to having lumps behind both eyes and he asked me if I have any symptoms (I was referred by my optition), I asked "like what?" He replied "well do you get headaches?" I said normal headaches but I don't think they are relevant as everybody gets those. Then he literally turns round and says "you should have gone to the head clinic instead of coming here" I didn't ask to go I was referred 😂 some doctors need to go back to university again because they wont pass the second time around...
G. G.
Really thankful to a&e and all ward 7 staff that looked after me during my short stay. Thank you for all your hard work, patience and wonderful care you provide x
A. M.
Very busy hospital. Our daughter was born and needed urgent special attention. Was rushed to neonatal and operated on instantly.
Fast acting staff saved our daughters life. Staff on the maternity ward, neonatal and special care are fantastic and we owe them everything.

I had been suffering with tonsillitis for three weeks and over the counter pain killers were not doing anything so went to the drop in centre on a Sunday morning mainly to try and get some stronger pain meds. The triage nurse I saw was excellent and said that I needed to be in A&E, not because she couldn't help but because I was actually quite ill, she took me over there and within 10 minutes had been seen by a senior Dr, within 20 minutes there was an ENT Dr with me and 10 minutes later there was a Senior ENT Dr in the A&E. Had a number of tests done and was told that I needed to be admitted, another 30 minutes or so and I was tucked up in bed being drip fed antibiotics, steroids and pain medication. 24 hours later I was feeling significantly better and was discharged with plenty of antibiotics to make sure I was completely better. All the staff were polite and considerate and although I was in considerable pain for most of the time I was in there I don't have a bad thing to say about the place.
S. R.
Visited the emergency eye department, main cafe and pharmacy. All staff were polite, kind and helpful. Really helped to soften a traumatic experience. Thank you all, especially Valentina in the eye clinic and the ladies in the pharmacy 😁😁😁😁

Hi , My name is Bharat and my wife jagruti was admitted in Royal infirmary maternity ward and my baby born on 5th January 2021. I m really appreciate to all staff of maternity ward for his great support they all are very helpful to us. Thank You All Of You 🙏
B. R.
Have both received and provided care here. Staff are generally great, despite being under a huge amount of pressure from all fronts. Brilliant that the A&E is upgraded now, as the old one felt woefully inadequate for the volume it was seeing. The site can be a bit tricky to navigate but it's full of character and history -- kind of an archetypal NHS hospital in a way.
A. D.
Medical staff really look after you when something is really wrong, hospital food was really quite yummy too. It is a shame this is tarnished by a few seriously entitled bad apples who need a serious attitude adjustment if they are going to work in healthcare. This was the housekeeping and care staff, the nurses doctors midwives and consultants were all exemplary.
J.
In after an accident ward 17 excellent care and atmosphere. Amazing nursing staff, all of them. Worth their weight in gold.
I moved on to ward 18 who were also very caring.
All round my stay was excellent. Thank you all.
S. J.
They saw me on time and no one was rude or unpleasant, I'll give them that. However, I felt very rushed and at no point did anyone ask why I had come in or what I felt was wrong. It was just a quick hearing test (where you can see and hear the guy pressing the button to make noises, and hear noise from outside the room) then the doctor just called me in and said that the hearing test was fine so nothing they can do. Like I say, no questions about why I felt my hearing was worse or suggestions for how to cope with it. I only came because a GP and British Tinnitus Association recommended it, so I was under the impression that it might help - even if nothing shows up on tests (which i appreciate gives them limited options), maybe some empathy and advice, not a kick out the door. If this test hadn't meant so much to me, and I hadn't been waiting for months, and I wasn't feeling so desperate and vulnerable I could have stood my ground and not left until I had something practical or felt that they'd tried to give me some support. But I don't think this should be necessary, it should be a bit of give and take.
J. S.
Had to go for appointment covid restrictions in place. Allocated seating which was seperated. Got seen very quickly
J. I.
I am really grateful to the staff who took care of me especially during the Covid period. I didn't have my family with me but so many of the nurses made me feel cared for that I didn't feel so bad about that. Thank you!
J. C.
Absolutely superb. A&E is unbelievably good, modern, clean, efficient and caring. Staff in 'Majors' were superb. Follow-up appointment with TIA/Minor stroke clinic made immediately. Specialists in TIA did a fabulous job. Thank you.
M. K.
It's true that I waited a long time at the A and E to get my injured and swollen wrist checked. What I have to say about it though, is that I'm grateful to the NHS and to the Leicester Royal Infirmary for their everyday heroic job dealing with human pain and grief in composed, smart and efficient ways (nothing is perfect). I understood my waiting time; the fact that urgent cases were prioritised was a reflection of a thoughtful system that I hope is working for everyone.
R. W.
My wife was admitted over last Monday night in stressful circumstances.
I have nothing but praise to offer to the paramedics who attended in the ambulance, everyone involved in A&E, where the treatment was quick, professional, courteous and above all effective
She was transferred to an AAU ward and then to a medical ward (Ward 30). Both wards were very well run and the staff and doctors were a credit to the Trust..
I give special thanks to June the deputy sister on Ward 30 for her professionalism, courtesy, friendliness... an exceptional performance.
Sadly however... all of these qualities were countered by the attitude and performance of the consultant on ward 30. I don't question his medical abilities and skills... but his attitude was a disgrace... arrogant, patronising and discourteous. Totally unacceptable behaviour. Sadly I cannot give 5 stars which the rest of the staff involved clearly merited because of his behaviour
D. R.
I had a nasty accident & was taken into A&E - later transferred into ICU , all I can say is that all the staff were absolutely marvellous & the care & treatment was second to none . I almost felt guilty about having the accident because of the time & care they provided. A big thankyou to all the staff there , they are great
S. S.
My Grandmother was on ward 33 for three days and myself and the family agree that she could not have been treated better, every test that needed doing was done , and more.
This has really restored our trust in the NHS.
Thank you ward 33
C. C.
Attended today with chest and throat infection. The staff were really pleasant and the doctor i saw in the triage dept was very thorough and reassuring. I was really really impressed with the walk in department. The waiting area was full but there must be many clinics running at the same time. I waited 15 minutes and had a longer consultation than i would have had i gone to my GP. 10/10 In a day of many pressures on services Leicester Royal are proving that the NHS staff are dedicated and hard working. Thank you so much for you attention and care.
Ps...im a qualified nurse at a much bigger hospital in Birmingham so i know a quality service. Thanks again!
k. e.
The Phlebotomy department at Leicester Royal Infirmary is very good, especially for needle users, however possibly a better way to do the blood tests would be to hand out menstrual caps to women who would agree to it, and give them the vials/syringe barrels to take home. That way less damage would be done to people with already damaged veins. It's just an idea, but from my knowledge most tests could be done this way, which is a much less intrusive way. An interesting thing today for myself personally was going to OADBY Central Surgery for blood tests. As previously mentioned my veins are sparse. A 2ml needle was used to try and extract blood. They experience was not bad although the veins were missed. It was like an intense accupunture session courtesy of the NHS. X

Have always received really good, professional care. Worst part is the 10+ minute queue to get to the car park from the next street! And that's after the multi storey was built. Food is absolutely dire for inpatients.
l. t.
You save lifes so thats why you get 5stars. Staff at the hospital allowed police to discharge me whilst I was having a haemorrhage so for that you have never got my trust! The bouncers whom you've got as staff are a disgrace. I've got underline medical problems that you completely missed.
K. A.
I have visited this hospital several times over the period of 3 years. The doctor/professional care has always been excellent however, some of the admin staff are beyond rude. You can expect to be hung up on when calling or reception staff not bothering with information - very unhelpful! One with such maners and attitude would not last a day in private sector.
R. S.
When ever I have been to the Leicester Royal Infirmary through our my life I have nothing but praise and admiration for all the dedicated hard working staff who work there. Those who complain about this hospital are probably people who complain about everything! I know people personally who NEVER give praise or compliments to anyone and only judge and whine about things for the sake of whining!!
A. R.
They are only making a good situation out of a bad one. Some of the wards are dated and scruffy but the staff are trying to cope with lack of funding and poor infrastructure. Fortunately my mum is the brand new state of art unit so they are all ok. However some departments are very stressed and underfunded like the Discharge Lounge which is heartless and soulless. Like all hospitals parking and getting around can be a bit of a challenge and if you are visiting be prepared for some quite old equipment and wards. Also if whoever is in the hospital please make sure they don't get bored as some wards have no TV's, Radios or Day Rooms. My Dad died in here and the after services are very good as are the Chaplaincy if you require it.
A. A.
Given the difficult situation the hospital currently finds itself in (and in fact the NHS as a whole) I think the staff are doing a tremendous job! Everytime I use the A&E/Urgent Care facilities they see me as quickly as possible, care for me and let me go on my way. I look forward to seeing the new A&E centre next year!!!
K. L.

I was with My baby here in this hospital i want to Say only thank you For All the Staff who work here and Also in special for the nurse on the ward 11. The Best nurse. Very kindly ! Thank you s-o much For your hard work
A. C.
Service here is absolutely brilliant. Had better treatment here in 8 hours than a course of visits at my own GP practice. Lauren was great & broke the boredom up waiting. Not that the other staff weren't friendly. They were all brilliant.
D. U.
From start to finish I was given nothing but the best care. Paramedics were fantastic and thorough. Upon arrival I was quickly dealt with at A&E Everything explained clearly and they certainly weren't letting me go without being 100% sure I was OK. First class

First of two treatments to have nipples tattooed after bilateral diep. The girls were so warm and friendly. Put me right at ease. Professional service and fabulous results

Excellent service from just walking in and asking a male dictor for directions to the Kensington building .Was greeted by very friendly staff at reception the area was very clean I was very impressed. But my Doctor and her assistant who looked after me were absolutely amazing. Thankyou for looking after me you do an incredible job.I really hope they see my comment. Many thanks Marian Sanders

10/10 would recommend. Excellent place to watch not just Take me Out but also the chase. I got kicked out of a spoons for watching half an episode of countdown but not at the LRI. They'll even test your blood for free
P. C.
I went to the LRI for an appointment today expecting the worse as I’d only had a phone consultation 1st!! How wrong was I.......I went to the blood room lady 1st 👍 she was lovely bless her and bang on time ❤️ and so was the haematology lady I saw afterwards for my oxygen levels tests ❤️!! Amazing service in hard times x

I came here after being told by Glenfield Hospital that because I'm not registered to a nearby GP, they can't see me. Silly policy in my opinion.
When I arrived, I was worried that it would take ages as it was really busy. Pleasantly surprised that a doctor was able to see me in 20 mins and fix me up in a further 2 mins.
I would like to thank the staff. They did a great job. It's shameful that the other hospital was not able to help me even though it looked like no one was busy.

My father was admitted by ambulance at 2am feeling very unwell the two members of staff who nursed him were outstanding treating him with the utmost respect and dignity. First class care well done .
Z. W.
A family member stayed in the Gynaecology Assessment Unit of the Gynaecology Department for about a week. Absolutely amazing service and outstanding facilities. The nursing, the service and the medical team were all angels to us. The tea ladies even asked all visitors if they wanted a cuppa! Best experience we’ve ever had so far. The whole team are angels and are an unparalleled asset to Leicester Royal Infirmary and the NHS. Words fail to express my gratitude to them. Highly highly recommended.
M. C.
Very good ,all the staff were very helpful

I had to go to hospital A&E in emergency..I must say that doctor and nurses were really good and caring..I couldn't even breath but one nurse named rebbaca really nice lady was trying to make me comfortable..and then I moved to ward 6..all midwives were really good and caring..Wendy,Anna, Natalie amazing..thanks to all ladies..I been there for 5 days..cause I had pneumonia..so those guys really looked after me.. except one person I seen was really rough..that was a Asian lady who used to come to check my blood pressure and temperature....

My dad was admitted recently , through A & E , and I was amazed by the improvement I saw, compared to previous experiences . The new A & E department was suberb. It simply bares no resemblance to the old one, neither in terms of the building itself or the care level. I now feel privledged to live in a city with such a great facility .
B. D.
This place was amazing. I thought I had broken my finger and I had to go in for an x-ray the only thing that annoyed me was the waiting time as it took 4 hours the doctor I had was very friendly and he was very understanding. After I had that doctor I then went to another really friendly doctor who took my x-ray. I would recommend this place to anyone.

4 th March to 8th 2020. A Big Thank you to all the staff on ward 9 Leicester Royal infirmary for the care and support that they gave my partner and myself. The staff go above and beyond in their jobs. Thank you
D. L.
Dr Foram Patel was especially professional, kind and caring in A&E with my Mum. A very good Doctor and LRI are fortunate to have her working for their team.
The new A&E unit seems to have done a lot for morale amongst the staff and everything appears much more organised now.
A. J.
My father was treated for a stroke and he had the most professional care imaginable. All of the staff at the hospital are totally caring and dedicated. Thank you all so much, especially ward 25.

My Mum , Brenda 87 years Old Had to Visit the NEW A & E Clean Bright ,Every one was Helpful , She was Moved to the E F U She was seen by every one needed to see , she was asked to stay over night for Observation , she was discharged the next day Sorted . What a Surprise ,ive ALWAYS been a supporter of the NHS If it means we PAY MORE taxes so EVERY one that Lives in the UK and works hard and pays taxes gets a FANTASTIC NHS , or the Government re channels funds it controls towards services the Public want . 150% + We need to see this standard thru out the NHS Thank you all involved . Tuesday 8th March 2016. I attended UHL NHS Trust LRI and for the first time used their new multi-storey car park. It is a vast improvement over the previous, much used but out-dated facilities. For the first time in many years on a weekday I did not have to spend 45 minutes or more queuing to get in to the car park, fantastic. The only downside was the stairs. My wife has a fear of lifts so we always use stairs wherever possible. To be honest the cleanliness was appalling. It does not look as though the stairways have been cleaned since the MSCP was opened. If the Trust want people to respect the new facility then the Trust should make sure it is kept clean even if it is still work in progress. Other than that, well done UHL NHS Trust in providing this much needed facility. I would have given it 5 stars if it had been cleaner. I do not believe the car parking charges are any higher at LRI than they would be anywhere similar. Like many people I do object to car parking charges at any NHS establishment. I have always found the staff at all of UHL NHS Trusts to be caring and willing to do what they can to make your visits as comfortable as possible within the bounds of the resources available to them.

It was a quick visit I was out with in 2 hours
S. D. K.
This is pretty much the same as every other NHS hospital around the country. It has it's good and bad points but the staff work hard and we are very lucky not to have to pay for our health care.
R. G.
Lovely staff, very caring. Really made a difference. Special mention to Mr. Bala Eradi - the most compassionate, understanding and professional medical practitioner we have ever come across.
Can't say enough good things about the place.
M. N.
The LRI has served us well when needed. Various family members myself included have had good care here.
A&E is very busy and very abused. Stupid people attending who should be at their GP'S clogging up the system. Mothers with kids with nothing more than a cold. A Woman who had a bleading finger where the nail had come away. What a waste of resources.
Don't start me on the drunks.
D. W.
Second time at the new Leicester Royal Infirmary A&E this year and on both occasions the staff and the treatment were outstanding from reception through to the doctors and both times only around 2 hours. Thank you!
J. D.
Dear Sir
re: LRI Ward 8 / SAU
on behalf of my wife, and myself I would like to thank your Doctors and Nurses for the exceptional and diligent treatment afforded my wife by your staff from Saturday evening 26/04/2014 to Sunday 27/04/2014.
at a time when the NHS and hospitals make the news on a regular basis for all the wrong reasons, we were overwhelmed by the professional, attentive and diligent treatment by your staff who were a true benchmark for excellence.
Thank you
John Dunning
L. T.

I was so impressed with the care I received at the LRI this weekend every member of staff were so efficient kind and friendly When I was admitted it was so slick I was seen immediately on ward 9 by a nurse then doctors shortly afterwards and treatment was started straight away.I was being moved to a different ward so I never thought it would be as good as the treatment I had received but again all staff were amazing such a good experience I am now home feeling so much better thank you to all of the staff on kinmonth ward you were lovely

Well i can honistly say L.R.I was outstanding , i was in and out within 2 hrs brain scan blood tests , i can see why you get propriety , and i was alot of ppl go to A/E just for colds etc because they cant be bothered to wait till the G.P surgery opens or they cant get appointments to me if a patient is eating out a vending machine there aint much wrong with u but well done L.RI.
A.
Staff are friendly and supportive lovely people up there thanks
I. G.
Always here for my diabetic eye appointments, Very helpful staff and easy to find where you need to get to. Though the new car park literally outside the Sandringham building seems a bit much.
J. P.

Had my baby at the hospital and it was a great experience although my labour wasn't smooth end up with emergency c-section... But anyway, staffs were great and the food was ok too... We stayed for 8 days as we both need to be on antibiotics... Not much rest as people will come in to check this and that...
So back to the food... Very surprised as I didn't expect Hospital food have so much choices for supper...
not so much for breakfast (fruits, cereal, toast, yogurt...)
Lunch is always jacket potato or baguette but I love their jacket potatoes... Yum!
