People with hearing difficulties often hold the view that audiology services are, in the end, about selling boxes, (of hearing aids, of course) and many practitioners are unfortunately mostly focused on this. There’s a quickish hearing test and then the aids are supplied and adjusted. This has not been my own experience over decades, during which I have always tried to seek out the best available professionals and have generally felt quite comfortable with the outcome. Scott Drummond works at an entirely different level. During our initial consultation I told him (since I was an experienced user) my case history, what I wanted and expected and waited for some agreement. Instead, I was directed straight into testing, and when he had assessed the results ( unchanged for many years) he concluded that my own views of what tech I would like or what should be done, and indeed my last corrective aids, were entirely sub-optimal for the correction of my hearing problem. He recommended aids of a type which I had not particularly wanted to use, and from a manufacturer whose product I had not previously used and was not my first preference, but we used a test pair and set them up for my hearing. I then went outside for a 10 minute walk around. Without overstating the case, I heard sounds which I had no recollection of being able to hear before, and in road traffic noise which would have rendered the majority of everyday sound ( bypassers’ speech, footsteps, rustling leaves, bird calls and even the sound of bicycle tyre rubber rolling over the ground) unintelligible or unhearable. My subsequent experience has included being able to hear voices whispering next to me, which I had never been able to do before, enhanced music appreciation and the ability to hear my companions inside noisy restaurants and auditoriums. I can say that without doubt, while the new technology would certainly have contributed to this result, none of it could have come about without the obvious research into the available alternative tech solutions, the measured and thoughtful analysis, and the detailed explanation of what, why and how this was all going to address my specific problems. Scott Drummond is a practitioner at the very top of his game. I consider it a privilege to know him and greatly fortunate to have found his practice amongst all those available in London.

I came to see Scott for what I thought would be a normal wax removal routine in my left ear. However it turned out the wax was very compacted and hardened, thanks to my attempts at removing it prior using cotton bud sticks. But with patience, skill and sheer professionalism (I provided the grit - literally) Scott eventually managed to remove the largest lumps of ear wax I have ever seen. I was a changed man! Could not recommend him higher. I'm just glad I was at least able to make his day more interesting.

Mr Drummond was very pleasant and made my visit worry-free. As a first-timer, he walked me through the process thoroughly and once he answered some of the questions I had, I was taken down stairs and the cleaning was done in less than 30 mins, pain and hassle free. My blocked ear was completely cleared and he removed what appeared to be stubborn wax from the other. I highly recommend this highly professional service.

Very professional micro-suction cleanup job of my ear. Had a particularly severe build of earwax. Initially Dr. Drummond tried suctioning it but it was quite painful, so he recommended using ear drops for a week after which I went back and got it removed quite painlessly.

He has a mature, intelligent approach to hearing loss and is well connected to all hearing aid providers so can really point you in the best direction according to your specific needs. Scott has been very responsive to any problems, especially when I have lost my hearing aids and needed replacements quickly. Scott recommended some new mini hearing aids, which went over the ear, they have made a massive difference! My mum can now hear much better, she is no longer frustrated at not being part of the flow of conversation. We were extremely impressed with the service received, in particular the follow-up service which is provided with the hearing aid. She will always have some questions that Scott has answers for, and she sometimes forgets the cleaning procedure which he is happy to go over again.
