Had a positive experience. Came here early one Sunday morning when our young child had an issue. (Turned out to be be nothing serious.) We were seen pretty quickly, everyone was helpful, polite. No complaints. Thank you.

I had my daughter in 2019 and they really took care of me. The only thing is that I came back and forth during passive labour 4 times and that was a very upsetting moment for me, also paid a lots of money to the uber.
But once I have been admitted I had a very positive experience with midwives and doctors.

7 stars for the Homerton Phlebotomy/ Blood clinic today! Our GP required an urgent blood test for our underage daughter. The blood clinic was contactable by phone (even called back) and made sure she was seen quickly. Professional, caring service. ... and she was excellently looked after when she fainted. This is not taken for granted. Thank you to Josie, Rosanna and David!

This hospital is the best than ever. My experiences at this hospital have been always very positive. Thank you to the doctors, nurses, and all the staff of the A&E department for their kindness, availability, patience, and great organization.

Had a positive experience. Thank you for the nurses and all the staff.

They treat me like a queen. They do everything to help me and everyone is very caring. Both emotionally and physically.
The food is also very good. I can't complain.
Thank you NHS, and more like thank you for the staff antenatal care department of Homerton Hospital. :)

Every person that I met at Homerton Hospital was courteous, kind and professional. From security on the door to the surgeon but especially the nursing staff. I can't speak highly enough of them. Thank you Homerton staff for helping me in a difficult situation !

Just want to say a big thank you to Nurse Lungi and Dr Laura who took care of my father when he attended A&E last week. Both were friendly & professional and everything was explained to us thoroughly. This was our first time attending Homerton hospital and during this stressful time u both have been amazing.

After suffering great pains and wrong diagnosis from one hospital,I was sent to the Homert hospital
in Hackney.
Unable to stand or walk, even with good support,I was given the 1st of a short course of tablets and a great deal of encouragement.
24 hours later the pain was reduced and I took 8 steps. Near 4 hours later ,with crutches and a fair bit of pain,I walked to the shower room and, while seated on a chair,I had a shower and went to bed.
The next day I was discharged with much reduced pain and very gratefull for the care and support from
a wonderfully team of doctors, nurses and physios.
They have my eternal gratitude, respect and admiration.
Thank Them for me please.

Thank you after 55mins in a taxi from bad advice and being told I had another 4 hours to wait to the wonderful nurse who removed my sons large splinter stuck in his toe. Making us laugh and making sure she did the best job and to the nurse receptionist who calmed me when I realised that I could have went gone whipps Cross 10 mins away thank you because you make me see why you are so incredible hard working and why I am so grateful for the work you do xxx

Outstanding care starting from reception and across the board of health care professionals. Even for A&E minors, patients like myself were treated with the utmost respect and necessary care depending on the level of urgency. Thank you to all the staff at Homerton, your work does not go unnoticed, especially during these persistent trying times.

I was admitted to A&E on 6/12/21...
As I sat waiting to be seen to, the staff was ever so friendly and helpful...
The place is soooo clean, the staff are on point, your every need was attended to.
The male Dr, ( Portuguese) whose name I cannot recall was the best... it is such a shame that there is no paperwork on leaving to complete a review.
I WOULD LIKE TO THANK THE NURSES, DR'S AND AUXILIARY FOR ATTENDING TO ME

Outstanding care! I had my baby boy on the 7th of November 2021 in the delivery suite. The entire stuff, midwives, doctors, nurses, consultants were all very professional, caring and supportive. My partner Mattias and I had a great experience. We felt in the right place.
Thank you so much you are absolutely amazing!
Special thanks to midwives Anne and Fatima.
Rossella, Mattias and Francis!

Massive shout-out to the nurse who took out an ear piercing that got lodged in my earlobe.
Can't thank her enough for putting up with my constant screams and pain.

Peadiatric a&e, we went with my son yesterday night following 111 advice, clearly short staffed for the demand for help yesterday night, the staff attended to the task of caring for young patients and their parents in the most gracious and caring way. I was humbled to see that for the 3 hours I was there the staff was on the move all the time, I was finally seen at 4:30 am and both the nurse and the doctor who spoke to me whee full of care, understanding and compassion. I hope that the efforts of this team are recognised! Thank you for your service.

I had the best when my daughter was delivered via CS. Unfortunately after I was discharged on day 7 of my procedure my blood pressure was really high. And I went back to the Obstetrics unit in Hormerton hospital on Thursday 14/10/21 all the midwives and doctors were really helpful especially midwife Abi, Nattie, GEMMA, Andrea and a few others that I cant remember their names. Thanks so much for the hardwork you do. I live in barking but I will rather travel all the way to Hackney for the nurses and doctors there to look after me.

Yesterday I gave birth at Homerton Hospital, in the delivery suite. I can say that I was amazed by the service offered and I thank the midwives who took care of me and my child at the highest level. I recommend with confidence for future mothers.
D. A.
Very good hospital, lovely caring staff even though many annoying customers and high pressure environment. Waiting times. Could do with some affordable good food and drink while waiting.

Two of my children were born here. Maternity services was a breath of fresh air compared to another local trust that I shall refrain from naming and shaming
Thank you for the care and support your staff offered to my wife and children

Had to leave before getting my test results bc I really needed to lay down. Long wait but staff were so nice I don't regret coming. Felt taken care of.

Very welcoming staff everyone was friendly and treated me well at A&E and HAMU Department. Everything went quickly and smooth. Especially thanks to Dr R. 👏🏼 😊

Overall more than positive experience, few outstanding (like the girl who took me on a sideand asked me if there was any employee who made me feel uncomfortable - example: misgendered me, refusing to use my preferred pronouns etc - and changed my details adding my New Name, pronouns etc) and only one quite bad but prefer not to mention it here as I kinda overreact so I don't want also public shame that guy who - to be fair - during the second part of our interaction has been very calm, respectful and helpful
A. C.
From the moment I arrived the security and parking team went over and beyond. Fantastic team. Secondly I had an appointment at the DSU and the patient experience I received today was perfect. From the staff on the door to discharge
it was a very professional and pleasant experience.
Thank you so much to your wonderful endoscopy team.

A&E department did a great job looking after my mum after a ligament injury which we feared was something much worse. Crutches and painkillers were provided straight away. Great job and were sent right out - with no bill or anything to pay (as one might have to in some other countries). We were helped and sent on our way. Thank you NHS and the staff at this hospital.
B. S.
They've treated me for a few injuries, and delivered our baby (!) and they've always been excellent & outstanding - we must protect the NHS! ;)
P. C.
Amazing a&e department, everyone is excellent, thanks to the outstanding care of the nurses and especially Dr Christopher, I now feel much more relaxed regarding my health concerns..Thank you!!

Went for a breast scan yesterday, arrived at 2.30pm (scan was booked for 2.55) and left around 4.30pm. A fair amount of waiting in between seeing the doctor and getting the ultrasound but everyone was friendly and very knowledgeable, and I was happy with my service.
a. m. o.
I went to A&E Tuesday evening and in 2 hours I had all my blood tests done and appointment for next day for a CT scan. Next day, the same very good service. Very impressed, I have to say. Congratulations for a great service. Great team work!!👏👏👏💫

I went to the A&E this morning and in less than one hour I was back home. The staff in the reception was so kind and lovely and the doctor that helped me was such a lovely woman. I had an incredible experience and despite being nervous, they calmed me and were incredibly nice and helpful. Thank you.

I have never written a review before but I feel it's really important to share my positive experience at the women's health centre at Homerton. I had an appointment a month ago. The doctor himself came to fetch me from the waiting room, on time! The procedure I ended up having was v unpleasant to put lightly, but both the doctor and nurse did all they could to keep my spirits up, keeping me informed and making me laugh. Afterwards I asked to lie down for a bit and a bed was made up for me. Other nurses checked on me, got me water and didn't rush me out. Just now, I called to make an enquiry and the phone was answered after one ring! The receptionist was lovely and very patient with me.
I feel lucky to have had such a good experience from beginning to end.

OMG they treat me pretty well, I can just talk about emergency service but 10/10 i have went to others emergency services in other hospital and nothing to compare, friendly people on reception, the doctors actually cares about you and not just give you a prescription and Chao, I really appreciate how my doctor ask me all kind of questions and all the time care about how I was feeling.
Definitely a good hospital to go for emergency.👍
B. M.
I had two appointments today back to back. The staff were so nice and accommodating. Treated me with gentleness and respect. Made sure I was ok every step of the way. I wanted to say thank you for that. To the dietitian and the Endoscopy department .
H. C.
The service from gynaecology ward:Priestley was amazing. They were so kind to me and treated me well. The doctors and carers were so nice I really appreciate it. It was my first time and I was super comfortable. Thank you guys 😊

I cannot thank the staff at HUH enough, for the manner in which I was treated since being referred to Mr D Sethi's orthopaedic clinic for a very unpleasant knee problem which caused me a good deal of pain and discomfort. Mr Sethi was highly recommended to me by Mr Christian Schweibert, an anaesthetist at the same hospital and with whom I am personally acquainted. Since my referral, everything ran like clockwork! Mr Sethi examined me, arranged for the appropriate scans etc and the operation was carried out yesterday morning 21 June 2021. On resuscitation, I was pain free and able to get about immediately. I was particularly impressed and pleased by the fact that my procedure was arranged so that Mr Schweibert was available to help look after me, and take charge of the anaesthetic etc; Obviously, visits to hospital for any surgery, involves a certain amount of apprehension and anything done to alleviate this, is always very welcome. Every effort was made to put me at ease and ensure everything went as smoothly and comfortably as possible. As well as the theatre staff, I found everyone else equally pleasant and helpful. The reception staff were welcoming from the start, as were the nurses etc. The physiotherapists taught me in advance how to use crutches and perform the requisite exercises which help facilitate a speedy recovery. The follow up appointment has already been made! In short, my treatment was second to none! I already feel better now than I have done for over a year.
I hasten to add that everyone presenting for surgery with me, was treated in the same exemplary fashion so it is obvious that my experience is typical of what goes on there on a daily basis. If anyone cares to Google Mr Deepu Sethi, they will find that I only echo what is said by the majority of his patients and that his reputation certainly precedes him! Thank you everyone!
N. D.
They called me a week and half ago for my pre assessment for my surgery which was postponed due to COVID. Booked in via telephone consultation for the following a Friday. Then they called me to say they had a spot available for the following week and did I want this, well I jumped at the chance. I have to say it was one of the best hospital experiences I have ever had. The pre assessment over the phone was very well done, then had a telephone consultation with the consultant which was also very good, then received a call the day before surgery to attend at a certain time. I was number 2 to go in so only waited 2 hours from arrival for my surgery. I have to say the whole team were so good and nice and I am very pleased with the whole service and treatment I received. I can highly recommend them for treatment involving feet and as I said this is the best service I have ever received from a hospital and do hope they continue to run in this way as it’s much more efficient. Thank you so much for all that you have done.

Can't thank enough the amazing staff in a&e. Care provided was amazing, I was very comfortable. And relatively fast too. I arrived at midnight, didn't have to wait long for the procedures and the test results back. Thank you very much NHS, for all your hard work.
S. T.
Superb doctors, nurses and staff that attended me this morning at A&E for chest-pain. I did not wait very long to be seen, and put my worries at ease. What a wonderful team.
R. W.
What a wonderful hospital - the patient care and staff are outstanding. I've had to go three times in the last couple of weeks - I never had to wait long and everyone was extremely helpful, professional and polite. Thank you!

Thank you for looking after my 88 year old mum as a NHS 111 referral to Urgent Care unit last night 11th June. Care and respect were fantastic. Wwll done to all the staff on that shift from security through to the doctors!

I came to Homerton Hospital last Friday night 7th May 2021after having had a fall and injured my foot. What an amazing crew of staff ! From check in desk, through to xray and fitted with a boot for broken foot in under 3 hours, incredible ! and they were very busy. What professional, caring and humane staff you have, I applaude you all at Homerton, thank you.

I had an amazing experience going to A&E, especially as I was expecting it to be awful because of the pandemic. The staff at Homerton, from the front desk to the nurses and the doctors made me feel so welcome and took a lot of care with me after I sliced my thumb open! The team were very nice and have a good relationship with each other which rubs off onto the excellent service they provide. Keep it up Homerton Hospital A&E 💪🏿
r. v.
I was yesterday in A & E department minus for long waiting time plus staff doctors and nurses very helpful 👍

I gave birth to my son at Homerton in December 2020. From the 1st appointment (Telephone due to the pandemic) to my discharge after birth, I was fully informed of EVERYTHING I needed to know. The staff were extremely professional, friendly and caring. I had had a small hiccup with my notes, during a visit to Emergency Obstetrics a midwife had accidentally placed another mums paperwork in my folder, when I had informed the head midwife she was amazing. Apologised profusely and made sure it was taken care of, she also spoke with the midwife in question just to inform her as understandably mistakes happen.
My birth didnt go as expected and I had had to have an emergency C Section. The staff in Delivery Suite and the operating theatre were so good! I cannot thank the head Anaesthetist enough! He made sure my husband and I knew EXACTLY what was going on during my section. His team were incredible, I had had reservations about epidurals to the point where Id had NO EPIDURAL plastered across my birth plan but when things started to go wrong and an Epidural was my only option his colleagues calmed me down and talked me through my epidural whilst they performed it and I can happily say it went well and I sat still enough to ensure I dont have any lasting back problems. My beautiful, healthy son was delivered by the best team I couldve wished for.
I cannot thank the midwives in Templar ward enough for looking after my son and myself post section. They were so supportive and made sure I felt comfortable. It was very hard giving birth in the pandemic and not having my husband be able to stay by myside after our son was born. He was able to visit during visiting hours but its not the same as having him by my side at all times so knowing I could lean on the midwives for support was such a blessing. Being a new mum is not easy and the baby blues hit 80% of new mums. A strong supportive base is what every new mum needs to having that from within the hospital before and after birth really makes a huge difference.
If I ever have another child I will be returning to Homerton and highly recommend the hospital to anyone having babies. You will be taken care of so well!
Thank you Homerton Maternity Unit! We are forever grateful for everything you did for us and our son 💙

I've attended Homerton Hospital on numerous occasions & all the staff are friendly & always helpful. In this era with such a shortage of staff they do exceptionally well

It was my first time at Homerton Hospital and I was SO happy with the overall experience. I had an appointment with an amazing midwife called Claire H and I wanted to thank her for making my visit so wonderful! Claire your fantastic at what you do! The ladies at reception were also very helpful and friendly. Thank you xx

X-ray/ultrasound department: the radiologist couldn’t find anything wrong with my gall bladder, but my gall bladder was not clear enough. She got me to come back the next morning for an extra scan (on her own time) when I was fully fasted. She wanted me to have definitive results and not wait for an additional appointment. She showed great initiative and understanding of my suspected condition and hospital waiting lists. Mega impressed.

I was here yesterday for myself. Incredible job from the moment i walked in until the moment i left. Caring & professional. Thank you to the team on reception, the assessment nurse and the last Nurse that went through everything with me. Your all a credit to the NHS!

Had steroid injections with Dr Hamilton and his team, the nurses were so kind and helpful and Dr Hamilton was brilliant. Please government stop selling off our NHS.

I've known this hospital for about 25 years and I can safely say it has vastly improved from what it used to be.
Following a not so pleasant earlier experience I avoided it for a very long time, however, recently my GP referred me for some tests and I was pleasantly surprised that things have improved so much from my earlier experience.
Given the size of the hospital and the range of services they offer, I guess things aren't perfect but in my recent experience I could say they offer the community value for money.
S. h. M.
Thank you Homerton hospital You make our dream come true really nice pupils & all staff very polite

My 4 years old nephew visiting from abroad was admitted on the Starfish ward for 1 day after visiting the children AeE for asthma. We received the best care from the moment we stepped into the emergency department . Short waiting time, caring and competent nursing and medical team. We always felt looked after despite our concerns. Thank you!
s. L.
Had tooth surgery today and the staff were excellent as usual! Had my fourth child at Homerton and received fantastic care throughout even from the community midwives and health visitors. Staff always polite and friendly, always clean.

Attended A+E with my partner after standing on a plug, the nurse who saw us was excellent, really upbeat and kind. She gave a tetanus shot and dressed the wound with a plan for review.
We did have to wait a while but as they weren't unwell this was understandable and the department was busy.
Would definitely come again!
S. A. N.
The staff at the Colostomy department was fantastic at looking after my father after his procedure. In particular Irene (Stoma Nurse) who was so respectful and generous at dedicating her time to help my father and provide us with the relevant training and information.
From all the members of Syed’s family, we want to thank you so much Homerton Hospital, in particular, the entire staff that gave such fine care to him during his stay.

I was seen quickly, blood test, IV done within 2 hours at A&E. It's not news that the NHS is short staffed. I have the greatest respect to those who work at this institution. One star to the gov who keeps cutting the NHS budget.
Z. J.
Amazing service from the guys and girls on the front desk to nurses and doctors.
Visited at roughly 4PM, out of the door after numerous tests by 7PM.
Special shout out to nurse Ruth who has the patience of a Saint.
DONT LET GOVERNMENT DEFUND THE NHS!
M. A.
Was admitted to the A and E major unit via ambulance here today. All the nurses and doctors who saw me were more than amazing and I was in and out within around 2 1/2 hours. Couldn’t be more grateful for the team that tended to me today. There was never a period where I was waiting for a long time and everyone kept me up to date about my situation. Nurses and doctor attended to me straight away when I had fainted in my cubicle and needed help and assured me I was going to be ok. Thank you very much!
C.
I had to go to A&E to get a referral to a different department on Monday (5th of Aug 2019), and the nurse (Kate) who referred me was amazingly friendly, very easy to talk to, concise, completely professional, efficient and fast while withholding all/any judgement (if there was any). Sadly the nurse at the department I was sent to only ticked the efficient and fast boxes. Working in healthcare is stressful (for a multitude of reasons) and relentless. The fact that some members of staff do incredible work in their medical profession and still have great bedside manners amazes me every time.
P. N.
I have been several times in contact with the maternity scan department and all the times the ladies at the welcome desk or over the phone are very not nice. They seem/sound unhappy with their jobs and I found them very impolite. It is such a shame they leave patients with this image because I think the services at the hospital are very good.
S. J.
I am 32 weeks pregnant and went into the Maternity/Labour unit with symptoms
of premature labour.
The reception and triage were empty, and were very laid back, didn’t seem to have any sense of urgency. In fact this is the vibe you get every time you use Maternity triage or the antenatal clinic, they are busy chatting and snacking, there is lots of room to give women privacy if they are in active labour, but you’ll still see them crying and screaming in the waiting area. It is the most bizarre hospital.
I was seen within the hour, staff were changing over but the midwives and doctors in the labour ward were very good.
There were no clean pillows or pillow cases, they only had bed sheets, some still stained with blood, but I didn’t care at the time. 😷
By 11pm I was given necessary care and treatment required to slow labour down, to also aid baby if it was born early and I was visited by the midwives who look after premie babies to inform me of what they will be doing to baby if it comes early.
I stayed in the labour ward over night and was looked after very well, even got meals and a hot chocolate.
The doctor in the morning didn’t seem like she wanted to be there nor did she want give me any information. This is where things went a bit pear shaped.
I was wheel-chaired into the Turpin ward.
I was left behind a curtain on a bed for 2 hours before anyone spoke to me.
The doctor gave me the impression that I would be monitored and allowed to go home if my contractions stopped and I wasn’t showing any signs of labour.
But I actually waited until 9.30pm, seen to may be once or twice by a student midwife for observations and a jug of water.
My contractions started again in the afternoon but the head midwives just didn’t want to do anything for me.
I had to ask for pain relief, and I kept telling them what the consultant the night before had said needs to happen the following day, but all information fell on deaf ears throughout the day.
The main midwife, Effie, just wants to do what she feels she can cope with, wants an easy life and never does what she says she will do.
She handed over at 8pm to another midwife, she told the midwife on the new shift to call the doctor to come see me as we were awaiting on my test results and my pain was still quite intense. Every time my husband approached her she would fib him off or she’d say she isn’t my allocated midwife!
There were only 2 midwifes on and the ward was half empty. Effie had handed my file to her in front of us.
Throughout the day, I’d hear students saying how easy going Turpin ward was and that they could do things slowly in their own time. There is always time to chat, eat and giggle even if there are women needing urgent care and who have been literally waiting hours! Many students were asked to do most of the work but couldn’t make decisions or give you updates if you asked them for anything.
It is a small ward and the beds were only half full. I was admitted on it last week for something else and it was the same story, doctors would call the midwives asking them to get beds ready or see to a patient and the head midwife would say i’m sorry i can’t I’m busy, but she wasn’t.
I’m dreading my hospital stay after I actually do give birth. I really am, as the aftercare in every hospital i have had a child in, (King George, Queens twice, and now I am allocated Homerton Hospital), has been really atrocious.
God bless the NHS!!
R. G.
Pedeatric A&E was really busy. Shout out to Marian who was so understanding to everyone and spoke so gently to everyone even when under such pressure.
Starlight ward had some wonderful nurses and a wonderful play specialist but the consultants don't always look into problems well enough.
Thank you to all the wonderful nurses there who are so kind even when under such pressure.
B. L.
Following a visit to Homerton A&E, I was truly impressed not only by the professional level of care but also by the top spec facilities. We all hope we can avoid hospitals wherever possible but if you do find yourself in need of the NHS this hospital is top notch!
L. C.
I had a very difficult labour but the staff at Homerton hospital made a very difficult experience feel much much easier. I felt like I was in a very safe place with the best care anyone could ever dream of. Every staff member I came in to contact with was amazing from the anaesthesiologist to the midwives to the porters - all amazing. If you’re worried about having a baby like I was and you’re giving birth at Homerton you’re in very safe hands.

Fantastic service from start to end. Had my son at the birthing centre, every visit I had throughout my pregnancy was professional, my antenatal midwife Justine Conway is brilliant, not only did she made us feel confident at every appointment it was full of laughter. She taught the parenting classes and those were brilliant
My labouring midwife Allison coached me well throughout and kept myself and partner very calm, being first time parents we didn't know what to expect .
After birth care was excellent, the room we were given was clean and spacious, Allison ensured we were comfortable and even went out her way to make us tea and toast before her shift ended, and came to say a proper good bye before she left.
The after care I receive at home from midwives, breastfeeding specialist and health visitors were superb .. Thank you to :
Allison
Kate
Mary
Justine and also the trainee staff for making our experience a great one . Love from Keneisha and Tyrone our son was delivered on the 1.03.2019 xx

I saw Dr Thoua in the gastro department for my appointment. She was really lovely and explained things clearly to me. She also booked my endoscopy there and then which was very quick and easy to do, unlike other hospitals where its difficult to book these tests once requested (very impressed with that service).
The only bad point about Homerton is that it is quite confusing to navigate around for a first time patient. I walked past several other patients who were just as lost as I was. But very pleased with the whole service in general.
J. Y.
My partner went into A&E because of dislocated shoulder. All staff were friendly, patient and professional. Thank you so much!

The staff very caring and helpful I really respect their dedication.
Unfortunately they said my father did not have cancer which he did. Eventually spread around his body and corona-19 finished him off.

I have never had a bad thing to say about this. My dad has many medical complication but with every check up and every operation they have been amazing and he has made a brilliant recovery very rapidly. I have had check ups and my girlfriend has too and we both say this our go to (after our GPs)
I. G.
They are just fantastic the doctors and the nurses that I've met yesterday, they all are true professionals. I'm more than happy with the way that they treated my wife. I just willing to thanks them!

Customer Service is excellent and quick, out-patients are seen to, on an average of 3 per hour, wait times vary from 3 - 20mins. Waiting areas and wards are clean but feel a bit stuffy at times. Good hospital in general.
J. S.
Decent experience actually, although we were being bothered to complete a survey before any sort of treatment or consultation has begun. This was probably to mask the amount of time we had to wait before we were seen. Otherwise, everything went as expected, check in was reasonably quick too. All of the areas were clean and tidy, and there is plenty of seating areas too.

Went to a&e last week with severed tendon. Waiting time was about 2 hours and all staff i encountered were fantastic and professional. I really don't understand the negative reviews here. If you go to a&e with a minor issue that you should consult a GP about, maybe you wait a long time/get offhand treatment?
M.
Went for an x-ray at the radiology department today and was blown away by the friendly, professional attitude of everyone I met. Then had to go to A and E and it was the same there. Touch wood I haven't been to a hospital for years but this experience didn't put me off one bit..
THANK YOU....
L. M.
Really good hospital in hackney. The consultant are really really good, in particular the gastrointestinal area

Saved my life this Hospital.. I am under them for life long care, this is the best hospital I have ever had dealings with. Polite respectful staff and it’s a pleasure to visit them. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
D.
Starlight unit - amazing doctors, incredibly well stocked for prescriptions. Saves leaving the appointment not having any medicine available until you visit pharmacy. Staff are all wonderful.
P. A.
I have only had to visit twice fortunately, but both times the medical professionals have been great and answered all my questions effectively and in a personable fashion. Support staff have been great too.
It is a confusing hospital to find your way around, do definitely visit the welcome desk for directions first.

I haven’t lived in London very long and have always been taken care of really well by my local NHS in the North West. I was apprehensive about attending such a large hospital and was already nervous about what to expect. The booking in/admin team we’re extremely disappointing, hostile, indescreet and unhelpful which wasn’t great at all. As a trust you need to retrain staff when loooking after patients booking in as in my experience a little kindness and understanding goes a long way Having said that your patient co-ordinator was amazing and all the staff that took care of me after booking in were a real credit to your trust.

This is purely for A&E experience and service
Only reason i didnt give the extra star was the toilets in the main A&E are very smelly but I always come prepared with mini bottles of disinfectant in my bag before I used the toilets. Attended the department on Saturday 25th August 2018.
I only waited half an hour was seen quickly, team in major unit side were fab dealing with my crohns disease very efficient and all tests done.
I was moved to acute ward cant give stars for that ward it was an experience in itself but my nurse was so overworked bloody angel she was so yes i would give her stars but the rest on this ward was an nightmare.

I am updating this review with a few more details. In fact, I have copied this review and sent it to a few authorities and some of them have got back in touch, which is a good thing. Unlike most people, I don't put with inefficiency or unprofessional behaviour. I raise the issue with the relevant departments so they can look into it and hopefully fix it.
My last visit to the hospital was mostly good. One of the staff members even offered to walk me to the outpatients clinic. It was early in the morning and it was just myself and another patient. I wish the staff at the desks smiled, or atleast said "good morning!" They all seem like they are forced to do a job they don't like. Well, I guess that might be true. I don't think any of them enjoy doing their job and are doing it just to have a salary. It shows!
The woman at the Main Outpatients Clinic Desk 1 took a few of my details, and then said my appointment was at Outpatients Clinic Desk 2. I went over there and the woman at that desk said that my appointment was at Desk 1. I asked her to walk back there with me. She did. And there was a bit of a situation. Desk 1 did not want to take me over and neither did desk 2. There was another man who got involved. I think he might have been a supervisor. Desk to insisted that desk 1 should take the appointment. I was asked to wait for a few minutes and then the Desk 2 lady walked me to a room and measured my height.
Then I had to see a doctor. I waited for about half an hour (which is not a big deal, given the pressure the NHS is under!). There was only 1 person before me, throughout all the appointments so I didn't really understand why there was this delay. The doctor was very pleasant and so was the nurse. Although I don't understand why the nurse had to be there as a "chaperone" when the doctor was examining me. I found that strange.
Next was to go for a blood test. A nurse took my blood pressure, and then wanted to take a few swabs. She took me to a room but it was occupied. She apologised and said there was no vacant room, so she walked me into a large bathroom and closed the door. I was rather confused. She took a swab from my nose and then handed me another swab and asked me to take a swab from my groin and left the bathroom. I room the swab myself but then dropped it accidentally. I had to go and ask for another one. Then do it again. I am not used to doing this myself. Isn't it usually the nurse or doctor who takes the swab? Why would they ask the patient to do it themselves? Maybe because this nurse was a Muslim? She did wear a Hijab but I didn't think these things mattered when you work as a nurse or doctor. Perhaps she felt awkward taking a swab from a man's groin? If this was the case, then perhaps she shouldn't have gone into nursing in the first place!
Finally, I had to wait for longer, to see the "other nurse." What was strange was that this "other nurse" was the one with a patient in the room that was occupied (the one we were supposed to go into). I was to be seen after this other patient. But it seemed to take forever and I saw this nurse walking around, standing by the door with a clip board... doing nothing. When I asked the receptionist and the hijab clad nurse, they kept saying that I had to wait and they are unable to tell me what time I will be seen. I just couldn't understand why the nurse who was supposed to see me was doing nothing. Standing by the door, clipboard in hand, gazing into vacant space. It was strange.
Updated as of 14/11/17 - Went for an operation at the Day Stay ward, and it was properly and quickly performed. Nurses, doctor, consultant, trainee/medical student, anaesthesiologist - all were pleasant, professional and very attentive. After care was great too. Wonderful nurse. Duly satisfied.
I have just been to the physiotherapy department and I must say the therapist is excellent. This was my second appointment and my condition has improved. I'm looking forward to the next one.
Dr. Kersten and nurse Izabella at X-RAY 1 ultrasound department are very good at their job.
P. S.
My mum was treated at Homerton ED today. She was very happy with the care provided by the nursing and medical staff. Please pass on thanks to the great team!
V. C.
This is the best walk in by far in London. It doesnt matter if you need to wait a couple of hours, it's the staff which I think have been very accommodating and friendly. Have always recommended friends to come here if they cant go to their own doctors
M. S.
Long waiting time, inexperienced midwifes (depending on your luck though) especially asian and african ones are really heavy handed. I wish I had filmed the way she tried open the vain path, that side of the bed covered in blood within seconds and she was still looking around for 'something' to carry on.. such a terrible scene it was to see..
The reason I put 3 star is that we had a properly trained British midwife with the first labour (3 years ago), so it was perfect, we had no problems what so ever. So I took the average trying to be fair as an overview..
Also the hearing test they do on the baby is useless. Don't panic when they say "no clear response". We had two babies there and were told the same thing for both - and they were both appeared fine..
As its a matter of luck - GOOD LUCK!!

Can’t say enough good things about Homerton. We are “regulars” here, with our twin daughters. They looked after them since they were very very premature, and many times since.
I have always felt they take excellent care of them, according to their needs. The Paediatric A&E is very well run, and they don’t take chances in my experience.
A. C.
Dr Barnick and his team have been a great help to me over the year with my diagnosis.
Everyone has been professional and kind.
It is nice the way they deal with patients. I' m truly grateful and very satisfied with the care and attention I have received. Thank you all of them.
Also a Huge thank you to Dr Barnick for his useful advices, he always had time to talk about my issue in depth.
Thank you for the excellent job and extraordinary support.
L. C.
My mother was admitted into hospital this morning I was super impressed by the hospital staff including the nurses and doctors. We were seen straight away all staff were polite and any medical questions we asked was answered. Brilliant service indeed!
R. G.
Homerton hospital is a great hospital with wonderful doctors and nurses who have saved my life I think over 10 times in the past 10 years i have the highest honour and respect for all staff including out of hours g.ps/xray staff/all medical departments /cooks/ cleaners//receptionist / porters / you all are doing the jobs of angels and I owe you all my life for saving my life because without your help I don't think that I would have survived the internal bleeding which I have had so many times. thank you all who work at homerton hospital you are wonderful people who deserve the highest respect thanks yours sincerely Richard groves
H. M.
Had to go by ambulance to Homerton today due to unforeseen complications during a planned home birth. The midwives, paramedics, theatre staff and doctors (obstetrics, peadiatrics and anaesthetics) were all incredible and thanks to all of them, Mum and Baby are now doing great. Thank you.
Z. L.
They should please make the phone numbers to the different departments available online easily. It's extremely frustrating to have to spend an hour just looking for one phone number.
I want to thank the midwives in the Terpin and Templer Ward for their wonderful work. They made me feel comfortable and happy. They helped me whenever I ask for their help. Always in a good mood which helps a lot. Thank you!!
A. K. T.
My baby was born in this place, I felt so safe in here!
All the nurses and doctors are super friendly and helpful! The hospital is clean and nice!
Thank You!!! ❤️
S. O.
I visited on an emergency case for myself. Long queue, but I was seen earlier than expected. Clean and quite inside. Good wash-room facilities. Staff were helpful.
I used overground, so not sure about free-parking. London is weird, sometimes hospitals don't offer free parking.
W. C.
My sister in law has been in Graham ward for 6 weeks after a stroke. Her care from nurses, therapists and doctors is exemplary. The communication skills of therapists to us , at a distance, is first class. The NHS at its best!

PART 2 - Continued from Previous Review:
Eventually, I was seen by another nurse. She was friendly but seemed to take forever, speaking and typing at a snail's pace. After her, I had to see another nurse who took a blood test. That was a bit weird too. She kept asking "are you alright? You''re ok, yeah?" I had already said yes, so I asked her why she kept asking me the same question. Her answer was "because you keep looking at me like that!" This annoyed me. And I said I was NOT looking at her. Even if I did, so what? She's in front of me and is about to stick a needle in my arm! She also said "You are in my care so I should look after you," and then started talking about my work... etc. I just wished she'd shut up and do the blood test. I guess they are often bored and have to amuse themselves somehow.
As I left, it was about 12pm -ish. I grabbed a sandwich and some juice at one of the cafes, finished eating while eavesdropping on the rather amusing conversation of about 4-5 young doctors (they all had their stethoscopes around their necks - I think they were just out of medical school and are in training) who were sat in the next table. I found it amusing that they were being rather loud and one of them declared "No, I didn't blame the doctor this time. I usually do, but this time I didn't." I don't know what this meant, but the others laughed and then started talking about "blaming the doctor" and their experiences in doing so.
As I left the cafe, I saw a large restaurant called Chatters. There were a few people in it, and it was largely empty. Out of curiosity, I just poked me head through to have a look, and then suddenly a smart, tall black male security guard appeared out of nowhere and said "Staff dining only, Sir. You can purchase food here, but you'll have to take it away as it's staff dining only." I said I had already had lunch and was just looking at the place. I then left the hospital. What's this staff dining only thingy? The restaurant was almost empty, and I think anyone who buys food there (even patients and visitors) should be able to sit down there, eat and drink. I wonder if this "staff dining only" thingy is official. If it is, then Homerton Hospital should abolish this.
Don't bother calling the booking line. They never answer and I always end up getting a voice recording. The general number isn't any better either. Sometimes, one has to call several times, as they either pick up the call and then cut you off (trust me, they DO this often but deny doing it at all!), or the phone keeps ringing and nobody picks up,. Sometimes they phone rings and then suddenly the line goes dead.
Dr Chinwalla at the Radiology Dept is very good. Got into a bit of an argument with him though, when I pointed out some problems I had with the NHS, and this hospital in particular. However, he did what he was supposed to do, properly. So I'm happy. I don't understand why he said to me that it would take 10 days for the ultrasound scan results to reach my GP, and then sent it on that very day.
I once had to go to this hospital twice, to get a blood test right. I also had to visit the GP twice. The hospital nurses blamed the GP saying they had made a mistake. And the GP blamed the hospital saying they had made a mistake. The GP insisted they sent me for the right test. The nurses said they were wrong. Then the GP said the nurses took the wrong test etc., and so on. I am convinced that the mistake lies in the hospital's part. I doubt that the GP had made a mistake as I know them well and they've never messed up any of my appointments or tests so far.
I have shared this review with a few officers at the National Health Service and some of them have emailed me , and also called me, and are looking into my review as a complaint. I will be going to Homerton Hospital again, for an operation (all the blood tests and consultations etc are now leading to this Op in my lower abdomen!) so I hope everything runs smoothly.
S. R.
I’ve had some really good moments here, and also some horrible moments... that’s why my review has to be in the middle. I was born here the first year it was opened, and my daughter was also born here! The good moments will never be forgotten, but it’s a shame that the bad moments averages it out to 3*s. It’s not the waiting time that I have an issue with, because every day is different, and it is not possible for them to always see you straight away. Only a handful of the staff just have no customer service skills at all, and I do apologise to the staff that try their best and be professional every time they come to work.
M.
Was there for a friend as labour partner, delivery suite staff- cannot fault them, helpful polite and very caring... But the after care for the majority was appauling.. staff cursing on their phones where patients and visitors can hear, staff arguing in front of patients; staff are rude to patients and their visitors; they kept my friend in a room with heating on; with no aircon, no windows and we were not allowed to bring a fan- for over 8hrs in 30°
I stayed with my friend the night she gave birth they told me I could.. they told her i should stay..and then unexpectantly at the last min told me I had to go... causing distress to my friend.. bringing her to tears.. but they didnt even reassure her she would be ok! from that point Everytime I came in during visiting times (not to stay- just to show her visitors where she was) one particular member of staff tried to prevent me going in - even when my friend only had 1 visitor or none this woman lied and said my friend had more visitors. She was rude to the 10yr old daughter of the patient.. cutting her eyes and giving dirty looks and made sure people (staff and visitors) could hear her dislike for me and if any one else was sitting at reception when I came in to bring my friend's family (daughter, partner, aunty)they would call her and say "thats the one u was talking about init?" & then the woman said "yeah she's the daughter everyone else no!" I was continuously polite, welcoming and respectful of all staff... this womans behaviour was totally disgusting... To top it off- I went into the hosp healthy and came out sick with a throat infection (caused by their portable air con machines. The hosp is dirty- bins overflowing, lifts with litter on the floor. I asked one member of staff for a blanket for my friend in the morning.. and she told me I would have to wait until the night staff come because she is busy!!! And she was very rude the way she said it as she walked away from me- no eye contact nothing. The food is not real food, and its disgusting, they say if you need help ring the buzzer, but when you are unable to move they do not make sure the help wand is in reach, and when you do press it they dont come until a min of 20mins. They say they are busy but when I am where they are they just sitting down chatting about personal experiences. Instead of reassuring my friend, they upset and distressed her (& she just had a baby). I was there to support her and treated like an imbicile by one member of staff who made sure by talking about me to her friends that I could not visit my friend (even tho I was with her through the whole process), they told my friend fans from home were not allowed - yet I saw several people bring in fans with no trouble... it was one rule for us and another for everyone else! I do not reccommend anyone stay in this hosp.. The ONLY reason my review has as many stars is because ALL THE STAFF IN DELIVERY SUITE WERE AMAZING AND SOME of the staff on the wards were lovely- its a shame the ignorant ones let them down, otherwise there would have been more stars. Now Im sick...Think about it- Who goes into a hospital well and healthy and comes out sick?
A. V.
Extremely impressed.
Went in Wednesday night with a broken arm and by Thursday I had surgery and had been discharged.
All staff were friendly, helpful and very professional. Special thanks to nurse Dwayne, ward host Jagtar and of course surgeon Boardman for fixing me up!
B. T.
Very helpful very satisfied kind staff done amazing job
M. H.
Excellent service in all the departments i have visited especially the childrens department the care and value of the patients from the doctors is beyond just a job. They work hard and even when there is a long queue it goes quickly unlike whipps cross hospital
N. I.
I visited the Homerton University Hospital early this April, for benign tonsil papilloma biopsy. Dr. Richard M. (ENT) and his team did a great job and I was discharged the very next hour. I'd like to emphasize Dr. Richard's professionality, friendliness and kindness. No doubt, this hospital and the citizens of London are lucky to have person like him contributing to the well-being of their patients. Keep up the amazing work!
a. w.
Great people all over. Reception, nurses and doctors. I was expecting annoyance or them rushing, but everyone was lovely and really took their time to deal with my case. GO NHS!!
P. S.
I think A&E is problematic in any hospital.
I have used Euston one at that time, but the doctor just hardly spoke in English. The system let me to wait months for a simple result.
Anyway the hospital was very new looking and the staff was hilariously kind,
although the hospital was almost empty every time, when i see in.
I don't know whether the staff was professional, but at least the machines were.
My only concern, sometimes ask the client, whether you require mail, or email is enough also. (if you upload to the phone you can prove that you have an appointment etc.) I have got too many mails for the same reason, and to many paper.
If you would add me a link, i can read the preparation info etc.
Someone has got strange accent, and it was very hard to understand.
L. R.
I was so well looked after in A&E here !
I was taken in straight away to be assesed by a nurse, after which I was straight in and dealt with by the doctors. I was very happy with their medical care and believe that I was correctly diagnosed and treated. Most importantly I was treated with kindness, smiles and genuine concern.
!!! KEEP OUR NHS PUBLIC !!! I would not have been able to pay for my treatment- and I am sure that my care would not have been any better had I been in a private hospital.
!! Thankyou guys in A&E !!
L. M.
Everyone I interacted with in urgent care was compassionate, professional, patient and respectful. I was seen in good time, x-rayed, and on my way home within about 2 hours.
M. B.
Very well organized, went to A&E to have my foot looked at, after a motorbike accident. In less than three hours got visited and got an x-ray done, all for free. Excellent service.
G. F.
Lady on the front desk of A&E lovely. Then seen within 5 minutes by Scott and Rifa, who's people skills are on point. Even seeing him manage the expectations of other people in the queue was amazing. Setting an example for everyone in the hospitality industry. It feels ironic to say I hope never to have to return though.
Q. F. K.
The staff is very friendly and supportive however waiting over 1hr when you have a booked appointment its not a good thing.
Please if there is anything you can do, DO IT
Much Appreciated
K. G.
My mother was staying with me for a few days and we had to visit A&E (twice); being away from home and her usual medical team, she was understandably anxious. She had to return for a review so met quite a few people. Everyone was fabulous! The receptionists, the nurses, the doctors and the physios. Not only did they make her better, they gave back her confidence in her health - something her own medical team have neglected to do. I understand that Homerton A&E has been rated as Outstanding - so it should. Other hospitals should look to Homerton as the benchmark! My mother has now returned home and is well on the way to being 100% - all thanks to you.
E. Z.
My baby was born in this place few days ago.
All the nurses and doctors are super friendly and helpful! The hospital is clean and nice.
L. Y.
Was seen by 3 professionals. Dr Hannah was professional and careful with answers. Katie (the nurse) is very passionate and enthusiastic despite doing her night shift. I waited a bit long for queue of two people.
N. C.
Clean, caring, friendly and fast. Both reception and nursing staff were very supportive and helpful in dealing with my injury
D. O.
Great hospital they help me a lot!
S. H.
I had an appointment last Wednesday at outpatients and needed Blood’s taking, They always have a problem with finding a vein to take my bloods, this time I had a lady called REBECCA and wow I didn’t even feel the needle go into my arm and with her first attempt she had done my blood test, I was totally shocked as this was the first time at Homerton that anyone has got my bloods on first, well done Rebecca
M. H.
I can't thank their expertise enough. They treat Bariatric Patients with Dignity and Respect. Which is sadly lacking in a couple of the Essex Hospitals near me. As for Parking you need to be at our hospitals in Essex an hour earlier than your appointment just to find a space.
M. F.
Hello,
All the people who work there are superheroes. I want to thank all the help I was given and the nice care of all the nurses, doctors and everybody else.
Special thanks to my now friend Jagtar Singh, (ward’s host,) Thomas audley (ward).
Congratulations for your work.
Pd: gracias a tod@s l@s enfermer@s español@s ( Javier , Santiago , Lilian...) sois l@s mejores.

I couldn't praise the care I've been receiving at the Homerton University Hospital enough, the staff I've interacted with are caring and attentive plus I've been treated as a person not a number!

Doctors and nurses chatting. On social media and searching for holidays on duty, pictured is Jackie namazzi.
The doctor and nurse that served me were great. I had a porter that gave me excellent service didn’t get his name.
a.
I was here a few months ago and will never forget the incredible quality of care. The nurses and doctors were truly caring and patient and escalated my care very quickly.
M.
I was in the Thomas Audley ward recently with an agonising kidney stone. It might be the doctors and surgeons who actually make you better but it is the staff on the ward like Elizabeth who keeps check that you are all right and Jag who takes your lunch and dinner orders and makes sure you are properly looked after that make you FEEL better. Long live the NHS and let's hope that eventually the right government gets in and starts to reward these people properly!
C. M.
Have always had such a good experience here including being out at ease during quite a scary appointment this am. Wonderful staff and a nice atmosphere.
S. L.
We received good care from Homerton. Staff helpful and polite overall. Long wait to see doctor on a Saturday, despite arriving by ambulance. More than an hour.
