Rang 999 for emergency ambulance this evening for a lady I came across in the street. The call handler was absolutely phenomenal as I was in a situation I didn’t feel 100% safe so stayed in the line until the paramedic arrived. The entire phone call from start to ambulance arriving was 10 minutes. Thank you for doing such an incredible job!

Thank you so much to the wonderful paramedics including Kit who came when my dear Dad collapsed at his home in Hexham on 20/11. You treated him with dignity and did all you could for him. You were so kind to my Mum and myself too. We will never forget you. Hope you liked the chocolates we dropped into Hexham Ambulance Station today. We are so grateful.

CLAIRE & ERIC - The AA team
(AA = Amazing Angels)
On 27th August, my elderly and very ill sister, needed hospital treatment but having spent a lot of time in hospital throughout her life simply refused to go and became aggressive at the suggestion. She’d chosen to isolate on her own and that hadn’t helped her, becoming depressed too.
Then the AA Team arrived. My sis had been a State Registered Nurse. Claire & Eric treat her with such kindness, care and respect that they soon had her calmed down. They're also a canny double act and brought laughter to a desperate situation. It took a while but eventually they persuaded my sis to go to hospital.
Her family, 3 children & 4 gorgeous grandchildren and I cannot express our thanks enough for what they achieved that day. She’s now getting the help she needs and hopefully will soon be home.
We’ve met many lovely paramedics over recent years but Claire and Eric are in a league of their own. ❤️😇😇

Had a fall and had a nasty break of my leg and ankle. Can’t thank the crew that came to my aid enough. They were thoughtful, kind and understanding. Didn’t move me until I was ready and the pain was under control. Made feel relaxed and cared for. Fantastic

I was unfortunate to need an ambulance to take me to Cramlington A & E but fortunately for me the 2 paramedics who attended to me at Ellington where Paul & Harry who where absolutely amazing they made me feel at ease and comfortable with in minutes this fantastic display of honest to goodness caring continued in the ambulance and at A& E where they passed my details and condition very accurately over to the Dr & Nurses on hand. I can't thank them enough.
Regards Adrian Fairclough.

I am writing to express my eternal gratitude to the paramedic team who undoubtedly saved my 90 year old mothers life. It was a normal Friday afternoon, my mum had been waltzing (albeit slowly) around Morrisons in the morning, she had a bit of a cold and a rash which was giving her grief around her lower ribs. I left her tucked up happily at home in front of the TV and made my way home. An hour an a half later my mum called me in distress and asked me to come back (about 15mins). I called the doctors, no reply, directed to 111, - 111 then called my mum and were still talking to her when I got to her house, she was a little pale, lethargic and said she had been sweating profusely, 111 asked if I could get her to Alnwick Infirmary and so, that was what we were going to do. I then tried to get Mum out of the chair, but she couldn't muster the energy, I realised then that this was more than just flu and a rash and ignoring mums protests, I called 999. It seemed a long time for the ambulance to arrive but we live in a rural area and evidently this specialist team had been en route to Rothbury but turned around and came all the way back to Alnwick to look after Mum. I can't tell you how relieved I was when they pulled up, they moved with such speed and efficiency, talking to Mum whilst putting all sorts of equipment on her, taking readings calmly and professionally, from what I heard I then realised that something was wrong with Mum's heart, nothing to do with rash or flu she was having a heart attack. Again this was picked up so quickly even though mum showed other signs which could have been misleading. Some deliberation went on as to where Mum should be taken, a trace was sent electronically and the decision was made - straight to the Freeman. The team kept me informed at all times as to what was happening, we blue lighted down the A1 at lightening speed, I knew things were bad as I saw Mum's blood pressure drop to 85/50, without doubt Mum thought this was it, she was shutting down. I wish I could remember the names of the paramedics who saved Mum but there was such a lot going on, once in the ambulance the gentleman never sat down, he worked on Mum all the way from Alnwick to the Freeman, I have absolutely no doubt that he kept her alive, the lady driver nailed it, getting us there swiftly and safely. On arrival to the Freeman I was taken to one side and warned it could be full on and swift, it was, we were met at the door by a team of people and Mum was whisked away, I sat in a side room not knowing what the outcome would be, but what seemed like about 20 minutes later the paramedic put his head round the door with a big smile and said "It's done, she's talking". Unbelievable, we later learned that Mums right coronary artery was 100% blocked and they had immediately inserted a stent which had saved her life. These people are doing a brilliant job and so often it's just not appreciated, without their expertise my mum would no longer be here, thankyou from the bottom of my heart to the two paramedics and the little student from Teeside, myself and the family will be eternally grateful for what you did for us. Elaine Holt, daughter of Audrey Vince from Alnwick.
