I was really worried about having my Colonoscopy but felt reasurred after reading all the good reviews of the Quadram institute. From the minute I arrived everyone was really friendly. I went through within a couple of minutes of arriving, was checked in with nurse Daniel who was very reassuring and efficient and he put me at ease and made me laugh. You get changed into two gowns and you put on a pair of paper shorts with a slit at the back so you never feel exposed while having the procedure. The Colonoscopy went well and it was over quicker than I thought. I really appreciated one of the lovely nurses holding my hand throughout the procedure, hope I didn't squeeze too hard. Had another visit from nurse Daniel in the recovery room and he brought me tea and biscuits and explained what was found, luckily nothing serious but something that explained my symptoms. So the procedure was well worth having done. And it couldn't have gone any better. Well done to all at the Quadram institute, 5* service. Many thanks.

I don't know what the medical side of things is like, but having brought a family member for an NHS endoscopy, the building and grounds is actively hostile for people with mobility problems. Inadequate signage, a route from the car park that goes up steps and down slopes for no reason other than to show off the architecture, and when you get into the NHS waiting the seats are uniformly too low for people with back or knee problems to comfortably get in and out of. Just - did nobody think that if they're offering NHS services their patients might not be in full health and strength? There is disabled parking - you can't see it until you're at the entrance already and it's not signed from the road.

My husband had a flexible sigmoidoscopy at the Quadram today. He couldn’t have received better care. The staff are marvellous. After the procedure the outcome was thoroughly discussed and we were both put at ease. We were able to ask questions and were provided with helpful documents. The building itself is extremely impressive - so light and airy.

Had an endoscopy at the new Quadram Institute on Friday! And can't praise the staff and facilities enough! Was a bit anxious as I'd had an endoscopy back in 2016 and was a pretty traumatic experience back then! But this time it was a walk in the park, thank you all at the new Quadram Institute for making me feel so comfortable and at ease! Cannot fault in anyway!!!

Amazing new building separate from main hospital. All patients are covid tested negative prior to procedures so it remains safe. Very efficient system for the whole appointment. Staff are amazing, caring and helpful. Calm (including calming music) atmosphere for what could be a stressful appointment. I was very impressed and cant thank department enough.

Receptionists freindly but could be a little more understanding of individuals' circumstances. Nurses pre and post procedure all lovely and thorough, very helpful. In procedure room I found it a little crowded but people did slow down when asked. Successful visit. Thank you Quadrum.

Brand new building and the access road is slightly different. Now has small car park (short stay) right by main entrance and long stay disabled. Other car parks short walk away.

The staff were lovely and all were full ppe, the whole experience was good . Only me that put a spanner in the works, apparently I have veins that avoid needles and move if one comes near, lol. But , apart from that a thorough and efficient system that protects both you and the staff. Fairly easy to find though with building work going on nearby maybe some of the signage has been taken down? Or they just need to have bigger signs. A modern building with good facilities, a lift (thank god!) to all floors and clear markings and distancing practices.

Thank you for the efficiency in dealing with my partner's (Michael Burdett) colonoscopy today. Our nurse, Lorraine, was particularly helpful and his procedure went very well. Most impressed - Gold Star!!

Very impressive and outstanding NHS facility. I was seen a few weeks ago following a routine bowel screen and given an appointment straight away. I had the opportunity to be seen locally but chose the N&N because the local hospital has a dreadful reputation, and because the N&N is a research centre. The Moviprep was most efficacious, and surprisingly decent to drink. Lemon flavour. It's effect of clearing the bowels was swift, and as I lay feeling shivery, sleepy, wobbly and less than all of wonderful, it struck me that some people pay a fortune to feel as I was feeling then. Flight to Benidorm £250 Taxi to hotel £40 Hotel booking 7 nights £630 Taxi to Amigos Bar and Restaurant £12 Serving of mussels and salad in Amigos Bar and Restaurant £13 Taxi to hotel £12 Total £957 This is the cost of how much it would be to be in the same place, to feel this ghastly instead of taking Moviprep dispensed free by the NHS. People actually pay £957 to feel like this, yet we can get it on the NHS. It's wonderful. I was seen by a lady called Jane, who heeded my reflections on previous colonoscopies (and was one of the reasons I chose the N&N instead of the local hospital), and made sure I had sufficient sedation for her to do her stuff unimpeded by me having to make observations that the scope was scraping it's merry way across my transverse colon. The only odd thing is that there was no guidance about how to don the cotton robes, of which two were provided, seemingly identical, but that's a detail. I give this place top marks. The outcome was that they found nothing sinister, but they did discover an extra set of vocal chords, which goes a long way in explaining many things.
