I cannot fault this hospital or the excellent team who work there. I had an operation recently which carried the risk of complications which I was naturally anxious about, but the surgical team did an excellent job and I am recovering well. The nurses and heathcare assistants are obviously stretched but the care was excellent and I was well looked after. Thank you!

Had to attend A&E early this morning with a very scary and potentially complex health situation. From the incredibly kind paramedics who kept calming me down and telling me to stop saying sorry(!), to the helpful receptionist to the volunteers with tea and sandwiches, to the kindest, most thorough and helpful doctor, I was at all times treated with respect and never felt rushed. The doctor really listened to me and went out of his way to explain about a forthcoming appointment I had which I didn't yet know about as well as arranging a very fast appointment for my situation with a neurologist. I am so grateful. Have not had the best experiences here in the past, but today really was next level proficiency.

I recently took my wife for an out patient appointment and was agreeably please at the service we received. The volunteers were so welcoming, the toilets were clean, the procedure was speedy and efficient and the general atmosphere was one of a place which is getting on with. the job.
~keep up the good work.

Never visited here before but got sent to have one of my eyes checked out. Everyone there from the greeters at the entrance, the people at the front desk, through to the eye clinic reception, the nurses and the Dr were all friendly and helpful. Afterwards we ventured into the restaurant and again all the staff were friendly and helpful. Plenty of choices and very fresh food. Very impressed with the whole place, clean and tidy even outside in the grounds.

Recently had to attend a&e. Notice outside stating 6hour wait time. Nothing can be done about it and it's to be expected to wait when attending the staff really do their best! I was triaged very quickly and directed to wait in the ED section. Once called through I saw a very helpful and patient Dr who talked through the process and what was needed. Bloods taken swiftly and painlessly! I was also seen by another Dr who was equally as helpful! I was told to wait for a while on blood results and to see a specialist surgeon. Within 5 minutes I was back through to get IV antibiotics (again almost painless and made to feel comfortable) and various other treatments. The surgeon was so helpful and I can finally see and end to a very long on going issue thanks to seeing the right people on this day! I have nothing but praise for the a&e team and the ENT specialists I saw!

Had a hysteroscopy yesterday morning the procedure went well, but I was upset with the nurse when I came out of recovery bare in mind I'm still very drowsy I don't know what I'm doing or saying there was no need for her to get irritated. I know she must deal with a lot of patience but that's her job to look after me, I kept on saying sorry to her which I shouldn't have to. Coming out of surgery gives you all kinds of emotions and how I was treated in recovery made me very emotional. No one should have to be treated like that after any surgery.

I wish to pass my thanks to all of the A & E staff who attended to my injury yesterday. Despite being under tremendous pressure with a huge number waiting once I was seen I was attended to with great care. The heath service receives a lot of bad press. I am unable to fault the attention received. Once again my thanks to all concerned.

The staff here were absolutely brilliant from arrival through my procedure to recovery. Everyone explained the necessary information clearly and were all smiling and kind throughout. Absolutely professional. Thank you!

My partner and myself have just recently had the pleasure of the excellent care we received within the Delivery Suite and Transitional Care unit.
From the first day we found out we were expecting, all appointments were at Lincoln. However, although Lincoln is good, we weren't overly happy with what we heard from other new mothers who recently had a not so good experience there. So we decided to go to Peterborough.
I have got to say, from the word go Peterborough were absolutely brilliant. The care my partner received was amazing, round the clock. No waiting around for a midwife at any point, and was very well looked after. The hospital is newer, and it does make a huge difference for any partners who can stay there.
The midwives and the way the department is run, especially during a very busy period, is out of this world. My partner didnt have the easiest first child birth (a post partum haemorrhage was the scary bit) but the anaesthatists, doctors, nurses and midwives were there within seconds and dealt with it extremely well and my partner felt at ease all the way through. We felt relaxed, comfortable and looked after very well from the start up until we were able to bring our new bundle of joy home. For anyone wondering which hospital to choose to deliver their baby at, Peterborough has got to up there with the best of the best.
Many thanks to all the midwives at the Delivery Suite and Transitional Care Units you really do a fantastic job; and are so friendly; professional and approachable at the same time. We can't thank you enough.

Absolutely first class service . I have had to attend this hospital on several occasions for both myself and my husband each visit we have been treated with the utmost courtesy and kindness.

I was put on Urology (A2 23-27) due to that being the only bed at the time I needed it. That was the best thing that could have happened.
Every single person treated you as though you were the most important person there. I honestly don't know how they do it.
The genuine care (and love for the older/more vulnerable) is second to non and nothing was too much trouble.
The medical aspect takes up such a small part of day to day care in some respects so the attitude and character of everyone working there is what makes everything go around so beautifully.
I have never stayed in hospital before so have nothing really to compare it too but if I had paid for a week of personalised accommodation with intimate care food/drink of amazing quality and choice always delivered with a smile I would have been over the moon to have such an experience.
You are all Angels and Heroes and I cannot thank you enough.
My thanks and gratitude

Brilliant service normal waiting time in ACU admitted to cardiac unit excellent care from highly skilled medical and nursing staff

I spent from last Wednesday morning until Saturday evening in PCH with heart and breathing problems and It was so obviously manic. All I can say is every single member of staff was amazing. I had the very best care throughout my entire stay. I cannot thank them enough.

My experience following my Emergect Visit to A & E. I was unable to pass urine. Was seen strsight away.
Catheter fhtted almost immediately Had fallen and banged head. Through tests done.

My father was stuck on a trolley in A&E for 36 hours, it was really difficult to get any information from the staff working in A&E about his condition, what treatment he was receiving etc.
Once he got to the ward, the staff were good to him and very helpful in giving any information needed about him.
J. T.
I experienced nothing but excellent care from being admitted to being discharged, every member of staff were amazing, it's manic and the staff never stop but always have a smile, I couldn't thank everyone for the level of care enough 😊
A. L.
It's not to bad just a long way to walk inside building and a very long time waiting for medicines
K. P.
Had an appointment ovet there. Masks are still required. The assistance was ok.
The car park quite expensive.
J. t. N.
You either get a really good experience or bad experience, but since last time I went I decided to try my best to stay home and recover myself everytime I get the pain I went A&E for but last time it took 5 hours just to get the blood tests done which I told them doesn't need to be done as they have done it everytime I've been there but if I waited till after the blood tests I would have been there for 8 hours knowing how long it would take after the blood tests, so I just left and thankfully that one time made a recovery on my own but since then I've been in pain again and find it really hard to deal with if you go at all best time it normally 10am-2pm

Quiet a pretty hospital. Nice staff, large parking spaces...
I. P.
Peterborough Hospital is a hospital, what more is there to say??
I was there for about an hour, car park machine charged £2.60 for the privilege of being an out patient.

Haematology services AMAZING people are quick to knock these services, look at the wider picture, emergencies. Staff shortages etc..... some people are time wasters and use this as a medication update or addicts take up precious time, which could be spent on more pressing cases..... don't judge too quick... look at the list of cases. Just think to get an examination in USA $1500.

I've never had any issues with this hospital. On the times I've been unfortunate enough to end up here, staff have been lovely, energetic regardless of time and have helped me with all my issues. They've provided me with food and drink if I've asked (when I am allowed to eat/drink), they've provided books for me if I've wanted one and have gone above and beyond to provide me stellar care. One of the best hospitals in the city and I'm grateful to be near it.
M. S.
Anxious whenever visiting a hospital, but found out easily where I need to go on the 1st floor.
Excellent service provided.

Cannot fault the service and care received at the gynecology department . From receptionist throug to consultant and nursing staff . Was put at ease from the beginning . Was talked through every step . Brilliant

Not the best reason to visit ,but the service here was amazing. Another shining example of our NHS

I have stayed on the Women's Health Ward overnight after a procedure in theatre. I want to give the highest praise to ALL members of staff from the Pre assessment clinics to the theatre staff to the Women's Health Ward staff. I am thankful and appreciate the anesthetist, who knew what was best for me to keep me safe and for the skilled surgeons. At all times those hard working ladies and gentlemen were kind and considerate. They were re assuring when I was frightened. They were considerate regarding my disabilities. They went out of their way to make me comfortable and give me what I needed. They work such long hours but never showed how tired they were. They were always cheery and bright. I filled out a form before I left, regarding my stay on the ward and was dismayed to see that the highest praise was only, 'very good'. Where is the 'Excellent' box to tick? Thank you to everyone. I can't find enough words to praise you, on the ward, and all staff members I came into contact with during my entire visit. Brogan Casbon

Very busy Hospital 10am with car parks nearly full. Disabled car park not big enough already full

I was unfortunate enough to suffer a minor stroke and was transported to Peterborough City Hospital. (My last stay in a UK hospital was back in 1984, so my expectations were formed from my visits to see family and friends undergoing treatment.)
However I was overwhelmed by the level of care I received. From the ambulance crew, the A&E doctors and nurses who saw me on arrival to the staff handling the discharge process I was always treated with sensitivity and respect.
Some of my family have benefited from private medical care (through work), but I believe the way my personal treatment was handled during my short stay was superior to anything they have received.
A stroke is a frightening illness, but if you find yourself in Peterborough City Hospital be assured you are in very good hands.

Was referred to PCH by Lincoln County Hospital after breaking three bones in my ankle on holiday. Lincoln said it would be a long wait for an operation and suggested I go to my local hospital after they took X-rays ( told me I had broken 2 bones) and put my leg in a cast. Peterborough A&E we’re marvellous. They reset my ankle (under gas and air!) as it had been set wrong in plaster and found the extra bone broken on X-ray. I was admitted straight away. I waited a week for the operation while the swellings went down. Was told I wouldn’t have general anaesthetic as a spinal block would aid a quicker recovery. I was nervous when told this but was reassured by the anaesthetist that I wouldn’t feel a thing. I was discharged a week later with carers in place and weekly physio visits.
From start to finish everything was well handled by staff. The wards were modern (I moved wards three times from single rooms (lovely and airy) to finally a larger ward). The variety of food was very good. The only downside was I had picked up an ecoli bladder infection whilst waiting 4 hours lying in wet grass and the rain in a thin summer dress waiting for an ambulance. There was a long wait at PCH for test results to come back to then be issued with antibiotics. In the meantime my bladder was causing me more trouble than my fractured ankle.

I was admitted due to a health emergency, to ward B6 for a week, following a very long wait in A and E, which is understandable in the circumstances. Both the doctors and nurses provided first rate care, and went the extra mile to get me well.
The ancillary staff were friendly,, and helpful. I am very grateful for the great treatment I received.
THANK YOU !
P. A.
Recently had to visit the A&E department. I was seen and sent for X-rays within half an hour. I was told that an operation was required, I was moved to Ward A15 and given a bed straight away. The following day I was operated on, given plenty of support and advice. I was discharged with meds and a follow up appointment. Food was fine, staff was excellent! No complaints, excellent service!

The staff at the hospital are absolutely wonderful for which I give 5 stars, however my review is about the unbelievable difficulty in getting through to a ward to speak to someone by phone. Early yesterday morning my 90 year old Mother was admitted, feeling very poorly. With no visitors allowed we have to rely on communication. Since she left by ambulance we have ohoned over 26 times and still haven't been able to speak with anyone. Infact no one ever answers the. We have no idea how she is. No one has contacted us to say how she is. It is so worrying and frustrating and it feels like we have abandoned her. She doesn't have a mobile phone. This communication is appalling and even though they are busy, what on earth are we supposed to do to get through. All the families of ward A3 like us must be pulling their hair out with worry.

I broke my left ankle on holiday in Scotland , and after being temporarily plastered, returned to England for treatment. I was looked after very well and had my operation that I needed . I was impressed with the care I received, and the staff were great.
I. C.
I ended up in A&E . Yes I spent there the whole day, but I want to say NHS stuff was nothing, but wonderful to me, caring, attentive with the great bedside manners. These people deserve not just claps, but a proper raise for the hard work they do every single day!❤️🌈

Only stayed in car park waiting for family. Plenty of disabled places available
L. G.
Had an appointment and only staff that were polite were the ladies for my visit. One was rude at desk even though I’m fully vaccinated, I am aware of COVID so there was no need to talk to me about my mask.
D. B.
I had read some of the reviews and was very anxious about my appointment. I walked in and asked for directions. Headed off and then my husband phoned and said I was in the wrong place. Anxiety kicked in and I found myself by the PALS desk. Reassured by his smile and helpfulness I was on my way. Arrived a bit early but that was fine and my anxiety levels dropped. Seen by the doctor early and then saw the consultant. Told I needed a biopsy and should stay in hospital. Argued the point and was told if I could wait for an hour or so, I could have the biopsy and my husband could take me home. Two biopsies and a few blood tests later, I was on my way. Via pharmacy for prescription pre-ordered by a member of staff to speed everything up. I cannot fault them. I really cannot fault them.
J. M.
A little confusing on the first visit, every floor, ward and corridor all seem to be the same colour.
L. A.
Nice hospital. But was messed around last week due to short notice of canceled appointment, letter did not turn up until the end of the week and no call.
A. H.
Well laid out and signposted for all departments. The volunteers are extremely helpful and knowledgeable if help is needed to navigate the site. The only downside is the cost of parking but this seems to be a normal with hospitals around the country. There is a Costa on site, another food premises and a WH Smith's also.
S. W.
Great care from start to finish at the maternity unit, honestly couldn't recommend it enough. Having given birth at Hinchingbrooke and Peterborough Cit Hospital I'd never choose anywhere other than PCH if I had any more children (though I won't be having any more)!

I had to visit A&E at the City Hospital Peterborough last night after calling 111.
I was suffering from Hypertension and found myself in a very clean waiting room that had chairs spaced approx 6feet apart inline with the Covid recommendations. There was 6 people Infront of me and was all called through to the nurse within the hour. I had my temperature, blood pressure and pulse checked and was seen within no time at all. Lovely Doctors, Nurses and staff members took very good care of me and after a variety of medical examinations I was offered a cup of tea and a Sandwich which I was grateful for. All the staff was busy but when I struggled to open the packaging on my sandwich it took seconds for a member of staff to offer help....that told me their eyes and attention was remarkable, taking care of the slightest struggles of a patient....I would like to say thankyou to them all. XXX 🌹❤️

I attended the Women's Health Outpatients clinic yesterday and have nothing but praise for the friendly and professional treatment I received from Gisela and Ellie. I wasn't looking forward to my visit particularly but they both put me at ease and Gisela took the time to listen to my concerns and to give advice which will help me between visits. This was the first time I was treated by Gisela and she asked me if I was happy for her to continue with my treatment, only one answer, Yes! The reception staff were equally friendly and helpful. Thanks to everyone for making my visit so much better than i had anticipated.

Staff are wonderful and hospital is very clean. Waits for assessment are hours long every time my elderly dad has to go in, if he gets taken in daytime him and my 70 year old mum are often waiting to small hours to get a bed. Accessible parking for Blue badge holders is free but in visiting hours midweek this is abused with peoe parking without badges outside spaces and blocking access.

I have a long history of heart disease. Last year I had a lot of problems with the heart. I was relatively quickly seen by Dr Porter. (She has saved my life a few times already.) I had then an angiogram done and the entire team working with Dr Porter was excellent. as a result of the procedure I was sent to the Royal Papworth Hospital in Cambridge for a bypass operation. This was now one year ago. I'm still alive and have recovered well. I would like to thank everyone involved in the process, as we often forget all the people working in all the jobs we never get to see, but who are essential to the running of the hospital. Thank you all!

After seeing the Surgeon I had my operation three months later and was discharged after three days the Staff in the Stoma Dept were very caring and contactd me three times in four days at home they also advised me on my condition after two weeks I was again contacted firstly by the ward staff and then by the Surgeon to explain the results of my operation I can only describe my whole hospital experience as brilliant and would like to thank the Surgeon and all the Staff involved and give them a five star review
A. M.
Where to start? I got admitted to A and E with sususpected appendicitis, when this was confirmed I got admitted to A4. The pain killers were kept topped up and everyone was so friendly. I went for my operation just before midnight and woke up in recovery. I was looked after by Sim who was a fantastic nurse. I was then taken back to the ward where Mara and Estelle looked after me all bank holiday weekend. They could not do enough for me. The HCA Clare was excellent to and made me feel as nothing was too much trouble. The nursing staff on A4 are faultless. Thank you to all who looked after me. The only thing I will say is some of the catering staff were quite rude. Not all but I do think some customer service skills would make patients feel more at ease. Again thank you to Dr Dennis who looked after me and the surgical doctor Hannah too. A4 you really have got high standards. Thank you.
C. B.
Excellent treatment in the outpatient department from Dr Kenneth ( sorry, not sure of your surname). Can’t fault treatment received from him, even following up with a phone call to let me know blood results. The only negative was the length of time it took to get through A&E to have my blood taken and to get the results - 6 hours was a bit much.

Yesterday Tuesday 25th January I attended Edith Cavell Hospital Peterborough to undergo both an Endoscopy and Colonoscopy as a day care outpatient. To say that I was in an anxious state would be an understatement. Never had either of these procedures carried out before but it needed to be done. Briefly, The professionalism and friendliness of everyone I met there was terrific. I was not rushed. Everything was meticulously explained. I was given time to ask many questions. The procedures were carried out in the Endoscopy theatre and I was offered and given medication to dull my anxiety while still being conscious. Although uncomfortable at times the procedures were not painful. I felt completely at ease with all of the staff. I went to recovery and was made really comfortable and had sandwiches and coffee. I lost count of how many staff members asked me if I felt ok, How was I? Numerous checks on my blood pressure and temp were taken before I was released to a relative.
I got home and went for a two mile walk. Totally relaxed. I had a full report with photos in my hand before I left the hospital I’d have to rate them as a fat 10 out of ten. Utterly superb.
Could not have had a better experience and I went in there in a bit of a state.
Thank you Edith Cavell Endoscopy team.
Seriously, That was good.

Was referred to Peterborough even tho I live in Boston.
Honestly from my first appointments until my stay over night the staff have been wonderful! Made me comfortable and really looked after me! Every phase of my stay here the whole team were truly fantastic! It was fast and easy with no complications. The night staff were kind and sympathetic towards my health and really went out of their way to make me feel comfortable! I was nervous about staying over as I've never been to a hospital apart from when I was born! but even when I had the choice to go home the surgeons asked me stay over night because they wanted to make sure everything was 100% okay- with me living further away!
Well done Peterborough City Hospital! You are the sort of team/people that give the NHS a good name and restore faith!
Thanks for looking after me
D. S.
I admitted after being scaped up after crashing my car due to a stroke. The paramedics and staff in B11 were nothing but what one wants from the NHS wonderful care and attention. Thank you everyone for saving my life and for not poisoning me with the food, it was yummy 😋

Had 3 visits by ambulance for chest pains..ambulance crew amazing service. Hospital staff very helpful and efficient. Explained problems and way to move on.overnight stay.ct scan..etc.many enlightening chats with medical staff at all levels. Great service.

I have to regularly visit the Head and Neck unit. Initially, i was diagnosed with a type of cancer here 2 yrs ago. They were very kind and quick to organise all the tests and scans. Had the op in Addenbrookes and continue checkups back here. The diet, speech and language therapy team were excellent during recovery. Appointments don't always run on time, but that's just the nature of underfunding. It's not the fault of the staff or hospital.
Once I got 1:1 sessions, the physio department were also a huge help in helping me gradually sort out the shoulder dysfunction that resulted from the neck surgery. It was a tough time, but I'm mostly back to 'normal'.

I spent six unexpected days in coronary care the doctors , nurses and everyone else too many to note down were wonderful I was looked after very well asked all the time if I needed anything I was hooked up to machine so unable to go anywhere but they didn’t complain no matter how many times I had to press my button I can’t not praise them all enough Even when you asked questions they gave you answers you could understand They all and I mean ALL on that ward do a great job and I thank them for making what could have been a unpleasant visit really a pleasant experience and that is down to the staff so once again thank you

On Saturday afternoon, the 8th February 2020, it was necessary to visit A & E with my 91 year old father. He hurt the back of his left hand when he fell, exposing the tendons, and also suffered a deep cut to his left wrist.
As soon as the person taking his details saw the severity of his injuries he was rushed straight through to be treated. The staff were kind, efficient and, despite being under pressure, treated Dad's injuries expertly. I couldn't believe how the doctor managed to pull the skin over the exposed tendons and secure it with steri strips.
His injuries are healing well. His dressings have been changed several times at his local doctors surgery. The only downside is that a dry dressing was applied directly on to his wounds. This meant that when the nurse removed them most of the scabs were pulled off, causing a significant amount of bleeding. Apparently she sees this a lot with patients treated at A & E. To avoid this problem a silicon or vaseline dressing should be used. I hope this feedback proves useful and saves others the pain involved in removing the dry dressings.

Currently in with my 18 month old as she had a chest infection and both day and night team have been amazing ❤️ also both daughters were born here and again was brilliant both times. Thank you so much

I have the honour to be a volunteer at this excellent hospital. I cover the PALS desk two mornings a week and meet lots of patients and staff. All of the staff are hard-working and dedicated to assisting and healing.
A year ago, I was a patient here and was treated impeccably. I have nothing but admiration for the women and men who work here.
T.
Staff/nurses very kind and understanding, settled my nerves. Lots of parking.

Recently had a couple of scans for different issues in the women's clinics, received my appointments quickly and was treated very kindly and efficiently. Felt very safe with all the measures to protect against coronavirus.

I was taken here due to an accident on the 14/12 about 17:30. I was treated with great care & sympathy by all staff, after seeing various Doctors & having an X-ray I was diagnosed with a 'Quadriceps Muscle Break', they advised that I would need to return for a Scan to assess what damage had actually occurred! On my return on Monday 17/12 at 10:00 I was very quickly transferred to a lovely ward with only 3 other patients & advised that an operation would be dealt with on Wednesday 19/12 by a Sports Injury Surgeon - Mr Blanco. The operation was duly performed & I must thank all of the Surgical Team, Ward Staff & Nurses who cared for me, the care could not have been better...Many thanks C Collin

I recently had an appointment in the Fracture/ Orthopaedic Clinic with Dr Gunasekera. What a wonderful lady with such a wealth of knowledge. This was my first appointment with her and I had a lot of questions. She was happy to ensure I had all the information I needed to be able to help promote my own health. She also gave me advice regarding my family and what they can do now to avoid problems later in life. Her approach was very holistic and she is such a nice person. Well done Dr Gunasekera you are a star; busy but still treating your patient as an individual with wisdom, compassion and care. Bless you!

I have two knee replacement operations and treatment for prostrate cancer. The Staff were always very helpful and efficient and good at their jobs. All procedures went well and I could find nothing to fault.

I was originally due to be an overnight patient on the women's ward, however, I was contacted by a lovely lady who asked if it was ok for me to be treated as a day care patient due to the amount of emergencies they had to deal with. She explained the process thoroughly and gave directions of where I would need to go. Arrived in the morning greated by friendly staff, the doctors who would be seeing me that day introduced themselves, explained the process and treated with dignity and respect. The nurses were fantastic through pre and post op, did not once make me feel uncomfortable. Thank you so much. NHS done right.

I was referred to Mr Rai gynaecology in August, and found him to be very professional, he discussed corrective surgery for me and booked me in for November. I was then told there was a cancellation and my surgery could be October and then I was lucky enough to be brought forward by two weeks. The surgery went well. The team that looked after me were fantastic. I was home the following day and I've had no issues at all. I don't think I could've had a better service if I'd of gone private. Thank you to Mr Rai and team you do an amazing job. I would highly recommend this doctor.

I was rear ended by an HGV on the A1, was admitted under blue lights to Peterborough Hospital.
I’m forever grateful to the ambulance team that transported me & the A&E staff that looked after me particularly Dr Tim Wray!
Man thanks, the best help advice!

I was sent to A&E Minor Injuries on a GP referral on 6 July '17 after an RTC and being my first time in A&E I was a little apprehensive.
I need not have worried. From start to finish I was treated with the utmost care and respect and came out feeling valued as a person and not an inconvenience.
Thank you to everyone for looking after me.
We are all too quick to complain when things go wrong but I just wanted to give something back by way of praise for the care and attention I received by everyone.
W. H.
Nice to spend some time having a drink before your clinic appointment.
Lovely staff in the catering places
Fantastic staff in the out patients clinics.
Parking quite expensive
Very clean tidy public toilets.

Came in to PCH as a day patient for a procedure, I would like to thank Mr J Rezulski and his great team, they put me at ease all the way through. Special thanks to Kate from the day treatment unit who took time to explain to me. Although I needed to be admitted for one night to ward A15 she came to see I was okay and said goodbye to me the next morning. Thank you all so much.

I have been here many times to look after my mother and father so views are based on all those experiences. while the care is good - it is dimished by a lack of staff - which is the result of building a hospital with PFI and have to pay huge rents leads to loss of service. one of the important things is good hearty meals or other things. As the food is steamed or cooked in a way that leaves the good look dry and not taste so good - it means people will not be eat much and be unwell as a result of that. There are not enough people to help patients to eat or drink which can lead to more infections for older and unwell people. also care packages need to be checked and if the care services are not good they need to be taken off the list. I have friends parents die in hospital due to not drinking so the management need to get a grip on this and get the government to give more money or the get the rents down. all the shops close at 7.30pm which is not good if you are there later. there is a machine but that is not sufficient for a hospital. compared to the experience in private hospital - this hospital like many others, need to catch up - staff need to supported and the food should be made fresh.
S. L.
I was very sick on the day I came to A&E. They took such a good care of me. I have nothing bad to say. Staff amazing, everything was perfect. And today I feel much better despite the fact that a day before I was barely standing on my feet. Thank you all - doctors and nurses - you were superb. xx

Great hospital and great people running it. Urology is one of the best I have experienced in the NHS.
Perhaps the people writing negative reviews should try the hospitals in the Lincolnshire NHS Trust area, then they would truly experience the worst our NHS has to offer. Also, I note that it is possible for people to give a "thumbs up" for other people's reviews but no "thumbs down" facility. How is this inclusive? How can I express my dislike of another person's review?

I have visited various consultants and have also been admitted to our new hospital. I must say that once in and treatment has been started, have enjoyed my stay very much. The food is good and all staff have been pleasant and helpful. Each consultant I have seen have listened to what i have to say instead of making me feel as though I might be using up too many minutes… I am very impressed with Peterborough's New Hospital and its very friendly staff :)

My dad passed away today in m.a.u and Tbh we could not fault the doctors and nurses they where outstanding. They did everything there power to help him they kept us informed all the way a long. There respect after dad had passed was just stunning A++++.. if your one of the members of staff that helped my dad Colin shepherd I just want to say the biggest thank you possible.. you made the end of his life the best you could and he went pain free xxx
P. H.
My experience of the hospital, staff, amenities etc is overwhelmingly positive.

A & E NOT GREAT,
Elderly family member taken to A & E after a fall at home. Seemed to be plenty of staff but totally dis-organised . First nurse could not speak English clearly and none of us could understand her. Poor communication and after 6 hours of waiting around seemingly needlessly for a scan we were all getting a bit frustrated. Had to repeatedly ask for blankets, bedpans etc and told to get the patient some water ourselves. No amount of NHS money will improve this !!! Just a lot better organisation. Hope we don't have to go back in a hurry it was n't inspiring.

My dad had a tumble and was taken by ambulance to A&E. After appropriate tests he was judged fit to leave that night. However, doctors and nurses spoke with me on the phone (I'm a 3 hour drive from Peterborough) and listened to my concerns about some underlying health issues and allowed him to stay overnight until I got there. When I arrived at 10am the next morning they had arranged for a team of specialists, based on his needs, to sit down and talk to us. Doctors, nurses and specialist practitioners wrapped themselves around us to give us the help we needed to make Dad better, and avoid any further trips to hospital. This is how all public services should work, an holistic approach based on customer need, focused on treating the cause not the symptoms. Thank you so much to the people we spoke to, and those that made it happen. Exemplary service!
N. R.
Brilliant and caring , to all of you , we appreciate how hard you work. I have been in emergency a few times now . They are amazing ,know their jobs very well. Always improving thank you . Let us look after our NHS too.

I went to a and e with a very painful cyst in my groin. The care and help was outstanding. The pain management I was given was unbelievably good and whilst I waited for a small operation the nursing staff could not have been better anywhere in the world.
I am incredibly proud of our NHS, although they were very busy, I never once felt a burden, the cheerfulness and good humour and the personal care shown to me was world class.
I thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

It's my 5th day on the Cardio Care Unit. The Doctors are great, as are the many other hospital personnel I've come into contact with since my sudden arrival here.
But most of all, the nursing staff have been amazing - each and every one of them!
Upbeat and friendly, which considering the environment we are in, for what feels like an eternity day after day must take it's toll on the very best eventually but that isn't evident among the many nurses working tirelessly to tend the every need of patients like myself.
So, to all the nurses on the Cardio Care Unit in Peterborough - Big up yourself, and thank you for doing what you do so incredibly well!!
You are Absolutely Amazing.
P. S.
Visited the eye clinic on 3rd July 2017 and again on 6th and 10thand my husband was admitted that evening, cannot fault the care of the Eye Clinic staff and staff on MAU, Ward A10 and B12, very quick diagnosis and treatment started immediately. all the nursing staff on the wards were helpful, cheerful and caring and informative. Cannot praise them enough.
B. T. S.
Wonderful staff in many diverse departments. Excellent consultants, interns, midwives, etc… I felt very well cared for every visit. Docs are current and dedicated. Can't say enough good things about the services and care I and my children have received there.
R. B.
We are so lucky to have such a well run and excellent, specialist staff at Peterborough City. I am so grateful for all the care I got when going in for emergency surgery in August and the follow up care has been great too, with good organastion, limiting waiting times. Couldnt wish for more from our NHS.
H. V.
Thank you for your excellent care and expertise.
The ambulance staff were brilliant, reassuring and very professional.
A&E went smooth, staff were caring, professional and very efficient.
Well done Peterborough and a big thank you for the excellent service.
A. B.
For observation and hopefully appreciated as my considered comment!!!
This state of the art hospital looks great. Staff do an amazing job in accident and emergency. For which I am grateful. Having a dedicated area for the frail elderly is necessary. Clearly the NHS is called to provide immediate needs care in the absence of 'social' care.
Sadly Peterborough hospital is another ill thought out 'site'. Upon discharge I waited for a bus (any bus). The buses that provide public transportation in this 'Environment' designated City (sustainable transport) have to compete with hundreds of cars. The road layout is ridiculour. It took 25 minutes from bus stop to traffic lights beyond Cavell Centre. And now the local council want to build ANOTHER multi-storey car park and force staff to use buses. WORKERS ARE CRUCIAL. GIVEN THE BATTLE OF THE BUSES ON A DREADFULLY CONCEIVED ROAD LAYOUT - HOW WILL THEY GET TO WORK ON TIME?. Since the purchase of the land and historical planning that was never for the benefit of service users and KEY STAFF it is time to review every aspect of local authority planning. For goodness sake - Ilive here poll has amplified local opinion of the realities of 'living' in Peterborough. I cannot criticise the endeavours of staff. Thankfully I am alive and this is my personal narrative. Once again 'greedy' developers have not been pragmatic with regard to this facility. Does Marco Cereste go private?

Peterborough City Hospital at Bretton Gate, Peterborough, is a state-of-the-art, purpose built facility which opened to its first patients in November 2010. The hospital has 635 inpatient beds and patients are cared for on modern wards with either single ensuite rooms or three to four-bedded ward areas, each with their own bathroom. This affords the patients far greater privacy than before and meets the NHS same sex accommodation criteria. The hospital has a Haematology/Oncology Unit, including a recently-expanded radiotherapy suite, an expanded Renal Unit, an Emergency Centre with a separate children’s emergency department, a dedicated Women’s and Children’s unit, a cardiac unit, a respiratory investigations facility and full diagnostic imaging facilities

Today my daughter had an ear treatment(wax removal) and ear check. The Doctor and nurse were verynice, heplful and friendly.Gave proper medication and proper treatment. I am happy.

Lovely new hospital, with a majority of single beds. All new equipment.
Parking can be difficult and a bit on the expensive side. Though very new and nicely sign posted
Nice new rooms, delivery rooms are massive, with TVs. Ensuite facilities. Postnatal wards with single rooms can be booked in advance.
Nice maternity services

I recently had treatment at the head and neck clinic. I can't praise the staff enough. Everyone was friendly, kind and reassuring. The procedure was carried out by Mr. Turner and his team. I thank them all.
D. S.
My husband was suffering chest pain so went to the Dr s who rang the hospital and Richard was taken to hospital and was on the CCU ward. The care he received there was amazing everything was explained to him and was transferred to Papworth hospital to have 2 stents inserted to open a blocked artery.
We have been very impressed with the treatment he has received at both hospitals.
Thank you NHS you're brilliant
T. S.
I'm happy with the service of the emergency ward. They were very polite. There was about an hour wait but then they paid all the necessary attention and consulted to further actions.
A. K.
Work is fine and the people are well doo the work

Modern, well kept hospital with decent staff.

I was visiting Peterborough and became quite sick. As a American iam used to expensive healthcare and was very pleased with city hospital.
I cant thank them enough for getting me on the mend on back to London to catch my flight back...and for a very reasonable amount of money which I gladly paid.

Very nice atmosphere and nice ambience
I think the nurses are wonderful they deserve to be treated better by the government
A one percent pay rise insulting
Excellent doctor I saw
L. B.
Visited A&E at the start of the week after the walk in centre refused to do any thing. The nurse i saw (Catrina) was fantastic!! The staff were brilliant and saw me very quick. Thanks again!!
E. C.
So impressed with ALL the A & E staff on duty for the night of 21/22 Jan 2021. First class attitude and care from everyone from reception through to discharge. Thank you so much!
J. P.
I can not fault the majority of the staff and the facilities.
They have accommodated my dad on numerous times and always do their best to help him.
I will say that there is a particular receptionist who is extremely abrupt and rude, with a tendency to cut you off the phone.
Other than the one bad apple, very good!
P. D.
A & E - Thank you. The staff were fabulous. Fabulously busy, and I don't know how they do it - and so well as well.
I've read some negative reviews, and think these 'reviewers' wouldn't' know a good thing if it was staring them in the face!
Can not praise the staff enough.
M. P.
Ward A9, Dr Akintade, Dr. Guptha, Ana Alves, all staff.
My father was admitted here recently (subsequently passed away) and I take this opportunity to thank everyone at this ward for their care, compassion, dedication and work ethic. It was truly outstanding. God bless you all. Matron at the CCU - thank you for all your help.
D. L.
I have only visited this place once. I found the parking layout confusing but the payment method for parking good ( you pay when you leave ). The receptionist was very helpful, warm and friendly. I followed her instructions to get where I wanted to but I still had to ask a couple of staff for reassurance that I was going the right way. The staff are friendly and happy to help.
P. L.
Thank you to the eye clinic for operating so professionally and personally on my mum, Friday.
She speaks highly of your service and higher of the staff.
Thank you
G. B.
Only serving in takeaway cups always room to sit
M. S.
General it's a good place, all stuff are very helpful and kind.
But why there is no room for cloakroom in such a massive building where you could leave your coat or jacket?? At least there could be some hooks in waiting area.
Y. J.
I would like to thank all the staff from the AE and the cardiac ward for the care they gave me during my stay in hospital I could not have wished for better. Also i would like to thank the catering department and the staff that brought my meals to the ward, thank you all so much, i would appreciate it if you would please show all departments concerned my appreciation. Thanking you all and A HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO ALL.
Yours Faithfully Yvonne Jones From Holbeach Hurn.

Both of my children were born here and I cannot fault the care given to them or my partner. I wish that they had more resources, but what they have is a caring mindset that puts mum's and babies first.

P. C.
The level of care that i received was amazing. From the minute i got to reception to having my operation the same day. All the staff from the porters, nurses, doctors and surgeons who treated me, i couldn't thank them enough for the level of care that i received. They have to work under very difficult conditions with low staffing levels and shortage of beds.
K. Y.
