Went to A&E about a month ago at 9pm.I was there for about 8 hours, although I was there for a long time, the treatment I received was excellent. The staff were kind and respectful. They do their job under such great pressure. My treatment is now on going.Thank you all very much .

We have been with our daughter to Pediatric Assessment Unit and we had to stay in hospital for 3 days. Everyone was very nice to my daughter and tried to make her staying there as pleasant as they could. We are very grateful for their care.

Ended up in A&E last week.wait was quite long but I was admitted and went to ward 14 .had surgery on Thursday night and moved to ward 30 on Saturday night .All staff doctors and nurses were very good as were all other staff( cleaners HCA s caterers etc) Hopefully on the mend and being followed up with further appointments. thanks to all concerned with my care

Just spent 7 days on ward 30 after been admitted from accident department had to have my gallbladder removed as I was seriously jaundiced and in pain and finding it hard to breathe. I have to say after all the horrible tales you hear that my experience was amazing I was waited on by the nursing staff nothing to much to help medication given on time auxiliary staff need a medal doctors kept me fully informed at all times as did the surgeon one big Thank you from me and my family
C. T.
I had to attend a&e with my 6 year old last night with breathing difficulties. I can’t rate the staff enough! From the reception staff who were friendly and super efficient to the amazing Paed team who were absolutely fabulous! I can’t afraid I can’t remember the paediatric nurses names but the consultant Marta was honestly the best I’ve ever met! Bubbly, friendly, reassuring and informative. They were all so lovely and such a wonderful team. I honestly can’t thank them enough for taking a very scary situation and making it ‘ok’. A huge heartfelt thank you.

Paramedics very good 5 star….hospital was clean and tidy 5 star ,2 chinese ancillary workers in majors very attentive and caring and busy
I found little urgency when my autistic son was suicidal and took overdose not enough mental health staff as usual which to be honest was expecting sent home after 2 days when still feeling suicidal and having to chase up medication only prescribed by psychiatric team ,things get missed when all rushed and questions not answered it felt like they wanted the bed back and to pass the buck left with parent to deal with and no support again was expecting as you hear about it all the time and too many life’s lost .I feel the Ancillary workers ,health care workers and cleaners on lower pay need a pay rise they are the ones running around like blue arse flies not the nurses on 30k plus ,I don’t blame the hospital I blame the government

We attended A&E today due to a sporting injury, cannot praise the staff enough for their care and compassion shown to my hubby. Paul the paramedic we saw was very knowledgable experienced and caring. We were in and out quite quickly. Thankyou for all your help we really appreciate the service you deliver and your level care of care and compassion in some very challenging times! Thankyou !!!

Went yesterday. Have a broken arm. Staff were absolutely fantastic. Receptionist and triage nurse were very attentive (blonde triage nurse). Very quick trip to x ray where Taima was great. Nurse Jackie who I sàw very quickly was attentive and sorted me out with a support (with helpfrom her friend) My only criticism was with pharmacy who took 40 minutes to get me a box of cocodamol.

Went to A&E - every single member of staff staff was warm, polite, friendly and completely on the ball. I was seen far faster than I anticipated - and am very grateful for the support. Thank you 😊

I wish to thank all the nursing team working on the Outpatient B 2, for all the help and care they gave my 2nd Cousin and myself on the afternoon of 21st June 2022. They went out of their way to help us, it is very much appreciated.

From diagnosis of skin cancer in Dermatology to removal of three lesions and a skin graft all within 6 weeks. Thoroughly deserve praise - Treatment Centre staff wonderful.

Thank you to the lovely staff in the MRI/CT department for making the procedure welcoming, friendly, comfortable yet professional.

Went to A&E when my son hurt his arm.
Seen quicky, had an X ray and got the results all within n hour. Really impressed.
Nurses were very nice with my son and knowledgeable.

My husband has just received treatment at the treatment centre, urology. He was absolutely overwhelmed with how caring and professional all of the staff were. In his words ‘they went above and beyond to make him comfortable and reassured’. We are both so grateful that we have such a fabulous hospital. He really can’t thank them enough for all of their care.

Found a lump 2 weeks ago. Saw GP within 2 days. Triaged by hospital on day 6. Spoke to Consultant on day 8. CT scan in day 8. Results and nothing sinister day 13. Coincidentally needed X ray of my hip. Called me yesterday offering today at 10:00. Arrived early ( never sure of parking) and was seen 30 mins before my time. I know the NHS is taking a lot of criticism at the moment but I certainly can’t complain. Well done. Thanks to Mr Husain and his Secretary Isabel.

I had to take my dad to A&E due to him coughing up blood & passing blood & could not fault any of the service he received at the time from all the fantastic staff in the A&E & the follow up appointments he's had since including an Endoscopy & getting to see a surgeon at RDH.
He has been under the Haematology for 8 years with Myeloma & again the Consultants & nurses have always looked after him so well. Keep up the good work

I have to say honestly I hated this hospital.. said I would never return! Was brought in by ambulance on the 25/08/21 with extremely high blood pressure. Initially I was taken to the ambulatory care unit (Amut) where I found the staff to be very patient and caring. After seeing a great doctor I was transferred to ward 4 where I was treated with respect and dignity. The staff made me very comfortable which eased my anxiety which helped with my pressure. They did every test they could before releasing me home the following day. Even the porters were great.. smiling and making jokes.. if I didn't think I was going to die.. I think I could have enjoyed my stay.
G. W.
A&e department best of any locally tbh much quicker than other hospitals and can’t fault the last 2 a&e visits I’ve had to make with my kids wait time isn’t 10 hours like good hope and they do seem to prioritise small children so you aren’t waiting hours and hours . Still a few hour wait but this is worth it for better and more thorough treatment .
S. P.
I have been a patient at this hospital twice. Once as an in-patient and once as an out-patient. On both occasions I have been very impressed with the care I received. Today I was in out-patients for a CT scan and having arrived an hour early, I let reception know I had arrived but I didn't expect to be seen earlier than my appointment time. However, the staff made every effort to make sure that I didn't have to wait unnecessarily even though I was very early. I could see that they were rushed off their feet but their manner and professionalism were both excellent and I felt that I was dealt with as an individual rather than just a number. The procedure I had was a CT Virtual Colonoscopy which I was a little anxious about due to the intimate nature of it but my dignity was maintained throughout. I am a retired nurse but I did actually leave hospital nursing some years prior to my retirement date as I felt that my experiences were not commensurate with my reasons for entering the profession. I didn't tell the staff that I was from a nursing background but I can honestly say that had I known that hospitals like Queens existed, I would never have left the profession. I know this sounds a bit "gushy" but it is my honest and heartfelt opinion and I would like to thank everyone for their very kind and genuine care.

I have just returned home after undergoing an operation at Urology Dept. and felt I must convey my extreme admiration for every member of staff I came into contact with.
All staff were professional , caring , sympathetic to my needs and at all times very friendly .
Ward 19 staff deserve a special mention both days and night shifts . Thank you for service to the public .
P. W.
Our mother was admitted on 4th November to A&E, then to the Surgical Assessment Unit, and then to Ward 19. A week later she was discharged home for palliative care . The medical and nursing care throughout was exceptional. She was treated with the utmost respect and communication was amazing. She had Alzheimers but they never failed to give her time, kindness and encouragement. As her daughters, we were involved in all of the decision making and discussions. All of the nursing team, palliative nurse, doctors, chaplains, OT's, ambulance drivers, were all wonderful. Thank you
H. G.
A very clean hospital, and staff were nice and friendly and helpful

Checked in at the Medical Day Case Unit this morning for an Iron Infusion. The staff were wonderful. They made me feel totally relaxed and comfortable. Everything was carefully explained to me and I felt at ease with the procedure. I watched the nurses treat everyone with respect and empathy. A big 'thank you' to all of them... Having any procedure is not easy... but at these difficult times going into hospital is a scary thought... They made it all OK. Thank you again... I shall be back for another infusion next week....

Absolutely fantastic, went with my son twice within 4 weeks with a dislocated shoulder due to a rugby injury, from start to finish they were fantastic, all the staff were rushed off their feet but they always had a massive smile on their face, I can not thank them all enough for how they treated my son. Massive respect to them all.
J. B.
All the staff we dealt with in treating my son were fantastic. Caring, communicative and helped us to feel safe and that encouraged us to get better more quickly. Thank you all.

I was admitted to Ward 19 where I spent just couple of days but I felt I must praise the professional empathetic and caring staff I encountered in this short time. As a paraplegic my needs are complex but nothing seemed too much trouble. Everyone seemed happy in their work
despite tremendous pressure in these unprecedented

Had my second baby here in February 2019 but this time a planned c section as I had complications with my first, both times I've been here the midwives and doctors have been great, felt really well cared for, this time I was quite nervous about having a c section but they were all fantastic and looked after me really well and put me to ease. Felt both me and baby were well looked after whilst in there care. Thanks to all the staff that assisted with my labour first time and my c section in February really good job, can't rate the labour ward enough in my experience
B. l.
Outstanding work tonight by all staff but especially triage sister & ED & ortho doctors. You should be very proud to have such rare professionals working for you.
J. M.
I cannot rate high enough the quality of care and kindness I was shown. I'm a very nervous patient. Yet I was made to feel so much easier by the professional bedside manner of every single staff member I came into contact with. My greatest thanks to you all.
R. B.
Absolutely amazing care, spent 4 nights on ward 30 room 20, 14/07/19 - 18/07/19 All staff are so kind and caring considering the circumstances every day I was made to feel so welcome and genuinely cared for. Every member of staff on that ward during my stay deserve the world and a whole lot of recognition hopefully one day the government prioritises with the NHS and gives as much as these amazing people do day in day out for the community. Thanks again ward30 hopefully you get some feedback from this your time is greatly appreciated and I wish you all the best for the future ♡

Fractured my right foot in 2 places. Never broke a bone or ever been in hospital before.
The care from the staff was fantastic and always helped out when ever I needed it.
Operation went very well and after 6 weeks I’m finally going back to work.
Thank you Queens NHS ❤️
A. F.
My husband had to go in for an xray, the staff couldn't have been any more caring and polite, in fact we have used this hospital for 30 yrs and never had a problem, stay safe 😊

Just back from spending 3 days in Burton Hospital. I can only say that it was a wonderful experience - everybody was so helpful and friendly. Particularly I would like to thank the staff of Wards 9 and 7, my Consultant, the CT Scan staff, porters and respiratory staff - all obviously working at full tilt, under very difficult circumstances with COVID now lurking again.
Thank you all
J. O.
Had an appointment today at the ENT department, i can honestly say hand on heart this is the best hospital ive ever been in, the lay out, hospitality, hygiene, treatment & friendliness 10 out of 10 from me, thankyou so much
J. I.
Recently had some tests at Burton. I can only say how well I was treated. I was very nervous but I was treated with kindness , friendliness and consideration from all the staff, Dr and nurses. My husband also has to visit Burton for Eye tests and be agree s that the treatment he received is also first class. Thank you to all the Staff
T. S.
My mother was brought here with a chest infection and I can't thank the staff enough for all the help and attention they gave her. When an elderly family member becomes seriously unwell it is a nerve wracking experience but my mind was eased when I saw the level of professionalism that the Nurses and Doctors were displaying. Truly fantastic place.
Thank you again for all your help guys.
S. M.
We walked in A&E the other day, for eye problem, the staff were so helpful and kind couldn't thank them enough. Then we were referred to eye clinic they were as nice and helpful as other department.
I wasn't expecting that brilliant service as we are restricted because of Covid19.
Thanks everyone

I was given an appointment for an MRI scan in the "wide bore" scanner as a previous attempt at my local hospital in the normal scanner was a failure due to my severe claustrophobia. If it were possible I would give 10 star rating for the two lovely young ladies who looked after me. They put me so much at ease and kept me relaxed all through. I am only sorry that due to my anxiety I didn't think to get their names, I do hope you will both get to see this and I say thank you from the bottom of my heart. My appt was Wednesday 11th September at 5:45.

I can't praise the staff of the maternity unit enough. I had the best of care and everyone was exceptional. Thank you so much!

I drove to Queens Hospital Burton-on-Trent this morning to take my partner they're.
I was fine driving they're from Ashby-de-la-Zouch Leicestershire.
Went to reception B catch up with my partner as she was running late.
I sat down & i felt weird not right i had a funny turn in hospital just sitting waiting for my partner in reception B this morning...
I got worse.
Suddenly head was all over the place.
I felt giddy & weak didn't feel right at all
When my partner came out from seeing the nurse.
I got up & suddenly needed toilet then it hit me i went down my legs went i fainted
I can't remember anything else as yeah i suddenly fainted collapsed in reception B JUST saw stars & had oxygen a ctg heart monitored
I was wired up.
Was on drip.
I was very weak in pain seeing stars very giddy i wasn't in a very good state at all
The nurses doctors were absolutely fantastic dealing with me...
I NEVER intended to have a sudden turn & collapse in hospital.
I only went to take the missus!!
I was in they're for a good few hours...
I just wanted the giddyness & pain all over my body especially my head to go away...
I couldn't feel any strength in my legs...

My partner has been experiencing double vision. And he was referred to Burton by his opticians. Luckily not worst case scenario.
I cannot fault the care he has received from them.
In just a week he has been diagnosed and an operation has been scheduled. He's had 2 scans and various appointments within that time frame.
I cannot thank the hospital nurses and doctors enough for their work. Also the communication between doctor's and departments has been spot on. All knowing what's going on from one to the next.

I've had good experience and bad . There are some staff who are excellent and go above and beyond to make patients as comfortable as possible and then there are those that don't. They always seem very stretched even by national health service standards. The average rating reflects the lack of continuity in the standard of care received

I was admitted to the A&E department by Ambulance on Thursday 13th at about 20:30 suffering from a swollen tongue, difficulty in swallowing and talking. I was seen very quickly by the nurses in the "Pit Stop" I was seen by a Doctor quickly and advised I would have to stay for about 6 hours under observation. After my blood was taken I was moved to a holding area next door and looked after by a lovely nurse called Donna. After seeing the Doctor twice more and I was discharged at about 02:30 with some medication. Please pass on my thanks the the staff in the Pit Stop and to Donna and the Doctor who looked after me in what was quite a scary experience.
Many thanks

Well after nearly slicing off my finger I had a trip to a and e. The staff were so friendly and was in and out in a hour with several stitches. Staff who dealt with me in minor injuries were fabulous.

Last Monday was sent from Dr to Ambulatory Care Ward 9.
Charlotte Pickering was very understanding, caring and put my fears to rest. My Doctor thought may have a blood clot or DVT in my legs after surgery of hip replacement.
I was given blood tests and sent for Ultrasound scan and all came back ok.
Relief overwhelming and Charlotte deserves a medal for her considerate and caring attitude to my worries.
I have to go back today for another scan just to confirm all settled.
Many thanks again

I recently had a hip replacement in ward 801, what a fabulous group of people, the cleaning and catering services always up for a laugh, doctors and nurses just amazing. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ To each and every one of you.

Visited A&E Dept yesterday, although the whole experience took 4 hours the treatment I received in that time from the 5 staff was above and beyond. Especially considering the number of people you had to treat or deal with. I honestly couldn't have asked for a better service, Thank You all...
J. A.
I've had a upper endoscopy today and although I was nervous,I was made to feel very at ease. All the staff and the consultant were lovely,I would not be worried about having any further procedures there.

Took my brother into A&E as he split his eyebrow. We were lucky enough to see Morgan who is an absolute legend. My brother received the best medical care possible and we were off in no time. Thank You Morgan. Top man.

Visited the a and e department off this hospital the other day and ive got to say what a dismal experiance i had! The oldish woman behind the counter was very rude. Asking me if ive got an appoitment. I said i didnt think you need a appoitment to visit the a and e department and then she said yes you make an appoitment with me very sarcasticly. So i said can i please do this then made the appoitment and told to take a seat.
No drink machines in the waiting area all 3 tvs in the waiting area turned off or just saying no signal rather annoying no magazines to read while waiting once you been seen by the first person the teiaz bit you then go wait in the worlds borrowing waiting room 5hrs i waited when i spoke to the next woman on the counter how long she said i belive your next as youve had a very long wait. Another 45 minutes passed and more people went in and still waiting went and asked again but this time the lady said i buzz you in so u can see whats going off. Went to have a noise another woman had also been buzzed in as she came same time as i did all the booths were empty and the nurses sat arou d a desk doing nothing.
We asked are we goi f to get seen and they said ow didnt reliase we had people waiting. So avnetualy got seen by a nurse who was superb and cant fault.
But the experiance with the waiting area and the rudeness off certain people i would of given 1 star but because i had a friendly helpfull nurse this made it better

I had to go to A&E last week. The staff were very helpful and kind and put me at ease when I felt nervous. My only complaint is that the A&E isn’t signposted so I didn’t know where to go or to park, but a member of staff helped me and gave me directions.

I Recently attended the gynaecology clinic and was very impressed by the level of care I received from every member of Mr Hollingsworth's team. Thanks to you all.

Needs updating slightly but all in all a good hospital.
Went to a&e with a broken toe a couple of weeks ago and was seen relatively quickly. The x-ray dude was awesome.

Great hospital and lovely staff. Could not praise the midwives enough. Think perhaps the chap who designed the car park might benefit from going back for a brain scan though!

A and E department treated my daughter really well as well as ward 6 and theatre but for ward 14 absolutely disgraceful and the sister on that ward lying about test results to my 22 year old pregnant daughter absolutely fuming over her roll on when I hear from my complaint
