H.On holiday in the area, we were visiting a nearby NT property when my husband slipped on small rocks on the beach and screamed 'my ankle' - an ambulance was possible but could be a very long wait, but on the advice of the coastguard co-ordinating with NT staff we got him back to the car and I drove to A&E. The receptionist was lovely and efficient; given the numbers already there and the constant large stream of people coming through the doors we didn't feel the time waiting to be triaged and subsequently seen by a doctor was unduly long. Xray showed broken ankle so then put in temporary plaster and re-Xrayed ..... then came a delay of over 2.5 hours but that was because the doctor was called away on an emergency (not his fault I know, but is the reason I gave 4 stars and not 5). From the lady on the telephone at ambulance control, through to everyone we came into contact with at A&E, the service was top-class and we are both so grateful for the NHS.

Excellent healthcare delivery in a timely, organized and empathetic manner. Culturally and internationally diverse members of staff.
Especially busy during the summer months because of tourists that come into Cornwall to see the beautiful scenery and beaches. But still maintains excellent world class services.
