I was in the cardiology ward last week to have a pacemaker installed, and I can say that the experience was pretty positive. Very friendly and skilled ward staff, and an excellent surgical team who kept me in the picture at all stages. The only reason I've taken one star off is the hopeless signage throughout the hospital! Also, why on earth don't they send a site map with their letters so you know where you're going?!

Many thanks to a&e yesterday, especially doctor Singh and his team who looked after our daughter. High quality care during an extremely busy evening. Thank you to everyone on the children's ward too, you are amazing.

I needed to attend Worcester A&E after urgent visit to GP ..very busy there but was triaged very quickly and soon getting ECG etc with nurse rapidly taken into to a doctor. Amazing kind and caring treatment from staff who are working under extreme pressure, really can’t thank them enough 👍 bless them all for the wonderful work they do.

Absolutely brilliant experience in Trauma and Orthopaedic this morning. Think we waited about 10 minutes after our appointment time which is most unusual in our experience. Saw Karina about my husband’s knees and she was superb. Understood the problem and was able to offer interim treatment to help with husband’s stability. Knocked a star off because we had trouble finding a parking spot. Perennial problem that needs fixing.

Unfortunate to require a&e services at this hospital and the attention, organisation and professionalism of the staff and department were exceptional. Quickly assessed and extremely well looked after. Fantastic service. Head and shoulders above our local a&e services in Wales!!
J. J.
My dad is currently on the critical care unit, cardiac arrest last Tuesday, we can not thank the team enough, they are caring, understanding, listen, explain and treat my dad with total respect and dignity. Thank you isn’t enough for what you are doing for us as a family 💖💙

Having had to go to A&E today and then on to EAC i would like to say a massive thank you to all the wonderful Drs/nurses/porters I met today who helped me. Each and every one of you were delightful in every way, extremely caring, helpful and supportive. The NHS often gets a hard time but my experiences have always been exceptionally good. Thank you and keep doing what you do! 😊

Admitted to A & E on 11/09/22 at 6pm.
Accidental OD on heart meds. So mot on my heart. Allowed home at 11:45pm. In good health. The care was absolutely perfect. Even the stay in the corridors.
Its such a shame the nursing staff have to work in such a non stop environment. Total respect.
Despite this tory govt trying its best to destroy our NHS.

I would like to say thank you to all the workers in the maternity department, especially Dr. Sharif, Dr. Abdul Rahman and the midwives، I felt comfortable and they are very helpful . tomorrow is my operation. I don't know what will happen, but I felt that I should thank them and they deserve this.

My partner suffered a patella tendon rupture while on holiday in Great Malvern. He was taken to Worcester Royal hospitsl by ambulance, where it was surgically repaired on a Sunday afternoon. Everyone with who we came into contact was so very caring, efficient and friendly, they were a joy to meet!

5 star treatment from ever single member of staff in A and E and ambulatory emergency care. Efficient, professional, friendly and caring staff. Excellent service . Felt very safe and cared for .

Very good experience.
This isn’t my local hospital but was referred here a few months ago and they’ve taken care of me very very well, more than expected. They’ve even followed up on me every now and then until today.

I Just wanted to highlight how good the maternity delivery staff, and surgeons are here.
Nick the head midwife and his team are just amazing.
After the most stressful experience of my life with my wife having 2 peserys, hormones drip an Epidural then a c section, him and his team were on hand at evey second.
Nick and his team which i forget the names of now were so kind, caring, experienced and reassuring with every step of the birth and made this stressful experience that little bit more calming.
Hats off to this department and team, please give these walking angels a pay rise!❤❤

Took my 18m in to A&E last week on advice of my GP and they couldn’t have been more helpful. Waited less than 5 minutes before being sent through and my little one was treated and observed for a few hours before being sent home by lunch. Staff were so friendly and helpful…blowing bubbles for my little one to calm her down. Absolutely brilliant thank you so much!
J. B.
Hi everyone, i spent 2 weeks in ITU and was treated really well, the nursing staff were amazing. Thanks to my surgeon i am still here. I then spent another 2 weeks in a high dependency ward, the staff were brilliant, I cannot praise Worcester enough. Thanks to all of you xxx
N. B.
Over worked and under paid and very short staffed, they still manage to care for the patients with a smile on there face
A. A.
All the practitioners are so amazing. So caring and kind. I love the care they give in the hospital.

My wife gave birth to our first child at Worcester Royal hospital today, there was complication after complication and we ended up having an emergency cesarean. The care from start to finish was just outstanding. From growtg scans to prenatal and antenatal, the staff are just out of this world. They made us feel like we were the first and only people to ever have a child. We felt like their family. Midwives, surgeons, anaesthetists and student midwives and nurses were All phenomenal. I cant thank you all enough, front he bottom of our hearts, thank you.
P. M.
Went to A+E yesterday....efficient, professional, caring, respectful and excellent.
Thank you to all especially doctor. You are a Star!
P. E.
I know the nhs is stretched. I know it’s not the front line to blame. Would I like shorter waiting times who wouldn’t. Did I stress no. I put on a Micky mouse dvd for minime and waited. Staff around if needed. Free snack for tired grown ups. Been here 1.5 hours already. Could do with a coffee machine. Took from 7pm till 130am to be dealt with.
Sent home after meeting the dr (lovely) for 5 mins and told to ride it out and if it happens again come back… 🤷🏼♀️
They were incredibly busy maybe the nhs needs some investment for two wards one for emergencies and one for walk ins.

Had surgery here today to remove a submandibular gland and associated saliva stone that has been bothering me for about 10 years.
I never leave reviews but thought it was warranted in this case. Sue Burne the Staff Nurse in TAU (Theatre Admissions Unit) could not have been nicer. We had great banter and she even popped onto the ward to see me after the surgery. Lisa, Emma and Tom on the post op ward were all also excellent. The Surgeon and the Anaethetist again on top of their game. All in all a quick and simple procedure made as jovial and comfortable as possible.
Thank you very much guys.
Kind Regards
Nick

Many Thanks to all the staff that I have dealt with, from the ambulance crew and doctors and nurses that treated me you could not have been more kind and helpful but after having a seizure I’m still in the dark as if there is anything wrong with me and when I can drive again… Yet have had to put my working life on hold for 4 months now and I’m self employed I need to be working and driving!
If I could turn back time then there’s no way going on the last few months that I would have got in that ambulance, would have been better to patch my head up myself, had a couple of days off then gone back to work
Have learned my lesson the only way you will get me to hospital now is unconscious , dead or after some consideration by myself as to a visit really being worthwhile in the long run
J. H.
My daughter was born at the Meadow Birth Centre in 2015. I cannot say enough good things about it. Everything about the place is fantastic, and the staff actually made the birth as pleasant an experience as it could be. To anyone considering having their child here; you will be in the safest, most caring hands. I will always be grateful.
A. B.
Taken into here on Saturday as was camping in Worcester for the weekend.
From start to finish care and attention was very good.
Special mention to:-
Ambulance staff and handover in A snd E
Alice/Amy and team in MAU
Cardiogy 1 Team.

Would have been 5 stars but inevitable that some people let the side down.
Many thanks to everyone who looked after me.

Came here with my 15 year old daughter, who had been very ill the last few weeks.
They looked after us, assured us, kept us informed and did all the tests so fast.
The nurses and staff were friendly, kind and they even accommodated me so I can stay with my daughter.
Thankyou to everyone on the Riverbank Ward you guys are great.
Laura Richardson just one of the many nurses who we can never repay.
Thankyou 🙏🏻
A. T. B.
The doctors, nurses and health workers on the Avon 2 Acute Medicine ward were absolutely incredible with the care and compassion that gave to my late dad. We were kept fully informed at all stages throughout his care and treatment. To conclude a wonderful hospital and the staff work tirelessly in often difficult situations. A big thank you x
L. W.
Incredible service. All of the staff in A+E were professional, put my partner at ease. We were seen very quickly and kept fully informed the whole way through. My partner was transferred to the Head and Neck ward, where again the service were perfect. All the staff work so hard, under incredible pressure. Couldn't fault anything about our experience. A hospital to be proud of!
l.
Was so impressed with the efficiency of treatment and caring nursing and medical staff in A&E today. The staff have always worked hard but the changes made to the service flow appears to have made everyone's job much more effective. Brilliant service on Saturday of all days! I breathed a sigh of relief that this is my local A&E department.
H. G.
If arriving at appointment time very little wait before being seen. Once seen very informative and helpful.
S. R.
Just amazing, efficient and compassionate care from the nursing staff in a and e.
L. S.
My little boy had a small operation yesterday, he was admitted to river bank ward, the play specialists were absolutely amazing, they went above and beyond and comforted me when I left my little boy at the theatre, the theatre staff were amazing with my little boy especially the anaesthetist xx
L. A.
Very efficient service for my hubby yesterday in the skin cancer surgery outpatients thank to you all.
R. C.
This hospital treated my late brother with respect care & compassion. I want to say a big thank you to all the doctors & Staff, if i could rate you more than 5 stars I would as you treated my late Brother & made him better. Unfortunately he was admitted to Blackpool Victoria Hospital & wasn't treated with the same care & compassion Worcester had showed him which lead to my brother dying of pneumonia. I know if my late brother had been in Worcester hospital he would still be alive today.

Decent hospital. Pretty good maintenance, plenty of lifts available for the patients, visitors and staff and good public transport access directly to and from the city centre via route 38. Car parks do get extremely busy so be prepared to be searching the car parks for spaces. There are two big visitor car parks along with some assorted road side parking. The parking prices are okay but they do provide concessions if you have to come here in an emergency. The one big issue is that they need to build another hospital or at least extend this one slightly as there has been reports that patients had to wait hours in ambulances parked outside of A&E to get a place in the hospital wards. This is very dangerous because sadly some people have died in the ambulance from not getting their treatment sooner as well as the ambulances being unavailable to others who need it, so they should certainly consider expanding the hospital or building a second one to reduce the amount of patients waiting in the ambulances.
R. S.
On 1st April I was twice blue lighted from Stourport to Worcester. Both times because I was unable to draw breath - frightening.
On both instances the care given, by ambulance teams, assessment team, nursing staff and doctors was speedy, professional, informative and reassuring.
I wish I had their names to thank them personally.
The hospital was crowded with trolleys in corridors and all these guys just kept at it - with cheery manner.
Thanks guys - you're doing a phenomenal job

I was advised by my GP to attend A&E for a appendicitis. From entering A&E, appendicitis confirmed, to discharge I cannot fault the staff and facilities in this current Covid pandemic. After a bed was found in Trauma and Orthopaedic I was looked after by a fabulous crew of nurses, doctors and surgeons who were always happy to answer questions and keep me informed of the situation.
A. F.
I have just been into the Hospital for around five days, having been admitted as an emergency. The care I have received has been superb at every stage. The staff have been efficient, friendly, caring, patient beyond belief, and I felt confident at every stage that I was receiving the appropriate treatment at the right time.
I had numerous tests, the results of which were discussed with me, and I was always asked whether I had any questions that needed answering.
As I work in healthcare myself, I am aware of cross infection control measures, and again, I was very impressed with how these were undertaken.
Congratulations to the whole team for working in such a professional way, but never forgetting that there are real people, with all of their flaws, on the end of the treatment.
Really can't thank you enough.
B. T.
I recently had an operation for Carotid endarterectomy and from initial investigations to the actual operation and final aftercare my treatments was exemplary. Under difficult Covid 19 circumstances the entire team at the Vascular High care unit worked tirelessly and efficiently to ensure I was given the best treatment possible. This included the porters, cleaning and catering staff who were always cheerful and helpful. My gratitude goes out to all involved.
G. S.
I write in praise of the team in A & E on duty on Sunday 4 .8.19 at 3.30 am. I came in an ambulance suffering chest pain. The teams there were exemplary ,efficient, kind and very caring. What was a daunting experience became reassuring ,the doctors, nurses and ancillary staff all deserved medals . My husband and I wish to place on record our extreme thanks. Thank you WRH A&E Department
B. B.
I was taken in by ambulance around 23rd November with terrible back pain. It was decided it was muscular and I was sent home in a taxi with painkillers. It didn't improve so I was taken in again a week later. I dare say everybody did their best but I was particularly grateful for the care from one of your staff who was wearing a black turban. I didn't think to get his name but if you know who he is please convey my sincere thanks. Thank you.
A. H.
Taken by ambulance, heart problems, the place was teeming, a dozen or so trollies in A&E passage , was fearing worst, in fact though it all took time, but all staff brilliant, nurse regularily asking how I was, did I need drink or sarnie, before being seen by doctor had to have a couple of ECG and two blood tests, these were done in cubicle, then back in passage. All the time all staff worked to help patients and each other, ambulance crews mucked in, porters helpful in fact the only problem was the place is not big enough.
Was supposed to spend night but no bed available, discharged myself against their advice. Though it took hours the professional and caring of all staff was very good. However for a place the size of Worcester the facilities are a disgrace.
O. S.
I have had wonderful service and treatment at the Worcester Hospital. The staff are amazing.
L. M.
I was taken to A&E by my wife because I had severe breathing difficulties. I was seen very promptly in A&E and had excellent treatment from both the doctors and nurses. I was admitted to the main hospital and was in there for a week. Again the treatment that I had was exemplary. My condition was always discussed with me by the doctors and the treatment that I received from the nurses and auxiliary staff was excellent and always cheerful. The food was good as well!
P. F.
I was taken into A+E 13th March with crushing injuries to my legs. I have to say the staff are absolutely AMAZING. In such a difficult environment, I was assessed and treated very professionally. Keep up the great work and hope the Government one day see where our money is needed most. Well done all
J. K.
A five star mainly for the staff and doctors but mainly the nurses, after having a stupid accident and having to be brought in by ambulance the staff looked after me as much as possible. Sure it’s a busy place and there is waiting involved but the nurses on the front line deserve respect and just remember how much pressure they’re under, thank you to all staff here as usual your services are exceptional 🙂
d. r.
I went into hospital on the 18th May 2018 to have a very large cyst out. All the staff were amazing looking after me so well. All the staff were friendly and understood how scared i was. I could not fault any of the staff and the care. The consultant has even rang me up twice at home to speak to me.
A. H.
Yesterday I had a very good experience at Kidderminster Treatment Centre. This was planned surgery. All of the staff were friendly and helpful and I was made to feel that i was in experienced and caring hands. It made the time so much easier. Thank you for looking after me so well.
S. G.
Absolutely amazing hospital, the kindness, professionalism, and humanity of the nurses and doctors is just incredible. Unfortunately I’ve had to spend a lot of time here recently with my mum and each time we have been so moved by the kindness and attention of the staff. I cannot thank you enough, you are all very special people.
L. H.
Both my Mum (on the Trauma and Orthopaedic Ward) and Dad (on Laurel 2) have both received the most fantastic care possible. This hospital is the NHS at its' very best. My Dad was taken ill whilst in Worcester on holiday and my Mum broke her hip whilst visiting him! A big thank you to all the staff who have looked after them both - you have been absolutely fantastic.
W. C.
My husband was treated well and even had a small operation on his arm the same day and discharged at night.
Nothing was to much trouble.
B.
I was pleased with the staff when I arrived at Worcester hospital res-cuss after a road accident. They got me CT scanned quickly. The results came back and I was informed of the results but not typically how bad they were nor what treatment was likely or available.
Within a few hours I was transferred to the Queen Elizabeth Birmingham which were more specialized for treating my injuries.
I feel that whilst the staff were polite and quick at their duties Worcester hospital needs further government investment and to expand it's wards to accommodate more patients so that more specialist injuries can be treated there aswell. I feel this would also improve the specialist advice given to keep patients calm through frank, but accurate information. I also feel that access through the city centre using the one way system is not an ideal scenario and that it would be nice to have an alternative.
M. P.
Anti-Natal and devliery team were sensational in dealing with the birth of our daughter. Mel and Hope were absolutely incredible. Special thank you those and the rest of the midwifery team.

Attended A&E Monday evening 10/03/14
All the staff on duty were helpful, caring and knowledgeable - receptionist, clinical staff, x-ray, any not forgetting the porters in x-ray who smiled all the time.
I don't know who was in charge of A&E that evening, but it ran really smoothly.
Well done.
J. B.
My son was admitted for planned surgery, we would both like to say how amazing everyone was from the staff on Theatre Admission Unit to the surgical and recovery team and the Head and Neck Ward .. They treated us with dignity and respect , they were all extremely caring and approachable . It was 5 Star Care and Treatment from start to finish we could not fault them
s. h.
Had to go in as a 999 before Christmas with a dislocated shoulder and have nothing but praise for 999 telephonist, paramedics and hospital staff. Consultant met me in the corridor and reset me soon after. Brilliant though painful experience. Re-dislocated 8 days later and the experience could not have been more different. Every aspect was awful, and apart from the medic I saw, and the paramedics, I really felt as though no-one actually cared at all . I witnessed the same lottery last year with repeated A&E visits with my partners parents. Sometimes the staff were very caring, and at other times not. The quality of care should be standardised, not a lottery. I trained at WRI as an RGN back in the 80s and no matter how rushed we were, patients were always treated as people - its quite basic really. So the 3 stars are for the medics, the paramedics in this area, and the receptionsits.
J. F.
Took my mother-in-law to Worcester Royal Hospital today, where, while she received treatment, we watched many hospital staff under great pressure, and yet treating all patients with courtesy, kindness, calm and great skill and efficiency. We are so blessed to have such a great hospital service near us. Our NHS is marvellous. I call on our government and it's officials to safeguard it for now and for the future.
M. L.
My husband (who had had a cardiac arrest three years ago) came back from a walk yesterday and suddenly felt unwell. He was complaining of being hot and sweaty and then a nasty pain in the middle of his chest and tingly all over. I rang 999 and a Paramedic arrived very quickly. He assessed the situation and arranged for an ambulance to arrive whilst doing ECGs and other things which made my husband more comfortable. Because the Paramedic on the Ambulance was newly qualified, he even accompanied my husband and when we got to the hospital the Consultant was there and having looked at the ECG immediately got him to Theatre and he was having a stent put in, in next to no time. I cannot thank the Paramedics, Doctor, and Nurses enough as they saved his life.
I know the hospital has had a bad press recently but I cannot praise them enough. Thank you so much.
b. c.
Recently took my dad though a e obviously all these experiences are stressful but the staff were fantastic, really helpful in all departments from ambulance staff to porters . The only thing I would say is we need a massive extension . With all these new Estste being built how do we expect first class service when it’s just too small ,

An amazing, dedicated, professional and caring staff right the way through from the ambulance crew, A&E and the SCDU ward. I have nothing but the greatest respect for you all and thank you for looking after my mother with such dignity while at times working in extremely difficult circumstances.

Great service today at Larkspur Unit. Appointment was booked for 9.15am and we were called in at 9.15 am exactly . Kind staff who were happy to help and with a smile on their faces. Thank you for dealing with a grumpy teenager who has just been told he can't play contact sport for 4 weeks! thanks again
M. G.
Fantastic level of service for our surprise overnight admission onto the maternity/delivery wing. Friendly and professional staff, made us feel comfortable and kept informed. Our visit reinforced our pride in the NHS.
C. b.
Visited Worcester hospital accident and emergency dpt today as a patient what more can i sa apart from wow when in this day and age everyone is so fast to criticise everybody for mistakes, well not me,the servise i receive was nothing short of amazing the kindness and understanding of my family situation and all the staffs willingness to help was overwhelming their medical care and attention to detail leaving nothing missed out and making i was 100% ok befor i left their building and even following up with a telephone call form a consultant doctor on my way home to collect my children to all the staff i met and all those working behind the scenes welld done your all amazing thank you Renato.

Had to bring my 4 yr old daughter here as she had tonilitious and Scarlett fever.had previously been Birmingham childrens, it was filthy and that many people waiting(up to 5hrs) which is unacceptable! At the royal, we was straight in, all the nurses was caring and helpful and couldn't help enough.got her a throat spray and Calpol and she was eating and asking for bangers and mash lol within 5 mins.before that she hasn't been able to eat for 4 days, oh yeah Birmingham said they didn't know what was wrong with her as they couldn't see in her mouth!!
Thanks Worcestershire royal hospital 👌

Dispite the criticism of the NHS we are very lucky to have this service at hand.Garry Owen Worcester.

Emergency admission. Very caring, expert and compassionate staff who treat you as a person, not just a body in a bed. Hospital stays are never enjoyable, but I'd be happy to go back (as long as I wasn't ill).
P. T.
The staff at this hospital are extremely caring and friendly. Our family experience of a range of departments has been very good. Oncology staff are exceptional!
D. C.
Would love to give 5* as my daughter was born here and was a wonderful experience with friendly staff.....but, the parking is atrocious. Very difficult to find a parking space outside the hospital even with the over flow, and expensive. And the Wifi is terrible too.
R. H.
Visited today for surgery on my index finger under a local anesthetic, it was extremely painful, however all of the staff were amazing and I can't thank them enough for getting it sorted.
L. B.
Worcester royal hospital I can’t thank them enough! Again I was rushed to A&E with severe abdominal pain due to my endometriosis. The paramedics the A&E staff and also the endometriosis team on The gynaecologist ward were amazing. The support I’ve had through this hospital has been fantastic! A Big fat THANK YOU WRH! Xx
D. G.
Anyone that complains about the staff and service provided by WRH is either far to picky or having a bad day. The WRH were brilliant and patient, I had a minor heart attack and was looked after fantastically. One of the major issues at the WRH is not the staff but the belligerent patients who think they are the only people on the planet. A bit more understanding would not go amiss.
Drunks are also a disgrace to the human race, violent toward young nurses who only try to help, humanity from the gutter. Thank you all the staff at WRH 5*
V. F.
We went to a&e bank holiday weekend whilst camping locally. Staff were brilliant, only waited a little while, fantastic service, definitely worth a 5* rating compared to our local hospitals back home.
S. “. M.
Have just had my Second child now at this Hospital & we couldn't of honestly been in Safer hands, Our Baby boy was born at 12.33am this morning & couldn't be happier with the NHS Staff and Worcester Royal Hospital!! 👏👏👏
T. M.
Can't fault hospital or staff from my experience.
Car parking really needs to be sorted out!, too few spaces, cones and blocks taking up space for no apparent reason. Difficult to get in and out of parks.
Get there early or you may miss appointmenrs.
S. s.
My mum had a bit of an accident one day then 9 months later entered this place and had me. Mum said some woman also having her baby was a bit annoying tho
A. G.
Good treatment side. But need to sort car parks out. No where to park ppl missing appointments waiting for spaces. Even seen grown men fighting over 1 space. Been around 10 times in the past month and a problem everytime we go
h. h.
Can't fault the care my son received today - from pitchside and the paramedics to the nursing staff and doctors in A&E at Worcester Hospital. All were excellent. Thank you.
S. B.
Exemplary service from all the team at A+E and Minor Injuries unit this week. Heartfelt thanks for treating me speedily and with great professionalism and skill. Much appreciated! Best Wishes, Steve

J. L.
Could have not had better care and service. Excellent
A. J. M.
What a fantastic hospital the staff are fabulous nothing was too much trouble for them
M. H.
Even if your condition is life-threatening, don’t expect immediate treatment. The staff are ridiculously underfunded, so they struggle to provide basic service.
R. G.
Attending Casualty at 0545 in the morning with what turned out to be a stroke I could not have been more impressed with the professionalism of the staff and the care and attention I received. Congratulations to a great team
K. A.
First rate care, brilliant staff who made my treatment bearable and couldn't be more caring or helpful. We have nothing but praise for these dedicated professionals.
J. T.
Excellent hospital with very good facilities and standard of care. Only let down by parking and being very busy.
W. V. 3.
Doctors and staff are amazing here working in tough circumstances. Waiting times and the knock on effect for all that need treatment desperately needs investment.
K. B.
