Hello,
My family and I really enjoyed our stay overall. The restaurant staff were fantastic. My 80 year old mum and I arrived at the hotel at 3.30pm and the room was still not ready. Overall the staff were lovely. Food great, executive family room beautiful. We would definitely recommend your hotel. Thank you.

A pleasant enough hotel with modern facilities.
A few caveats in my experience did however lessen my view of my stay while I was here for 2 days. For instance, when checking in, I was told at reception that breakfast would be served up until 11am on Saturday morning. I arrived at 10.30am to no one receiving me at the breakfast bar. I walked up the the serving area + the breakfast staff told me they were finished serving for the morning. After telling them what I was told, I received some resistance, with the staff asking who at reception told me (how would I know!) Eventually, they served me hurriedly. Although a minor interaction, I expected a better customer service for £120 a night.
Room was relatively clean, although there are a few cobwebs on the ceiling in my room. Please see attached photo of stains on my bedsheets too. Not awful enough for me to complain or ask for another room, but worth mentioning.
On the positives, my room key faltered a couple of times during my stay, and the reception staff were friendly, quick and responsive to rectifying this issue.

We booked a deluxe room for two nights. The hotel is lovely clean and modern. However, unfortunately our tv and air conditioning were not working on the first night. Once we let reception know the customer service was outstanding. Stephen, in particular went out of his way to make sure we had a good stay. We definitely would recommend this hotel to anyone and would happily stay here again.

Lovely room. Pleasant reception area. Breakfast experience is fantastic. Only thing that disappointed us was the member of staff on the bar. She kept us waiting for twenty minutes and was very unpleasant and unwelcoming. However we love the hotel so much, we will certainly be returning

I was really impressed with my overall experience at the hotel. The room was both lovely and comfortable. The décor everywhere was really smart. The food was decent. Unfortunately the views are mostly of construction sites but that is temporary and should not detract from the experience.

Have to say all staff from the moment we entered were friendly and welcoming and this is what made the stay for me. The hotel is in a great location. We drove and only a short walk to car park. Very comfortable room, all hotel areas comfortable and appealing. Great breakfast. Would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful service. All the staff were polite, friendly, caring and efficient. Room and facilities were excellent as was the food. The breakfast buffet was amazing, everything you could think of and more! Totally exceeded our expectations. We were fortunate to get a fantastic price with a deal, but despite this, no corners were cut. Well done. Definitely my best hotel experience in this country so far!

My stay here was absolutely wonderful. All staff I encountered were friendly and helpful. Breakfast staff was amazing and so was the food. Keep up the excellent work in all you do!

Happy with the hotel. Service in restaurant was very slow and menu choice was poor. Some of the staff in the restaurant weren't wearing masks, others just had them around the chin. Many customers weren't wearing masks either in public areas.

We booked an executive room which was very clean and had everything you need ie. decent hair dryer, iron and ironing board, coffee facilities. Reception staff couldn't be more accommodating on arrival. Restaurant staff were very friendly and helpful in getting our food quickly as we were on a time limit to go to a show. Food was faultless, very well presented and cooked to perfection. Breakfast had a very good varied selection. Smoothies were lovely too! The barman was so helpful in sorting our cocktails in the bar, determined to make one that we liked. All in all a very good stay - couldn't fault a thing.

M’y Stay was amazing the customer service was a10/10 everyone was nice and welcoming. The rooms and facilities was clean. At the restaurant Paulette was our waiter she was very very sweet and Kind thank you so much.

Thank you for such a pleasant experience at the Clayton Birmingham.
Room was very comfortable and clean.
We had an evening meal which was great Breakfast was outstanding very friendly staff everything you could ask for was there.
The one thing that was most obvious was the friendliness of the staff nothing was too much trouble.
S. B.
Lovely friendly staff. Clean and tidy hotel. Modern feel. Breakfast was amazing, huge range to suit everyone's needs. Lots of seating available.
A. C.
I booked this afternoon tea with a glass of Prosecco for a friend & myself. We really enjoyed it. The afternoon tea was delicious, the Prosecco was very nice & the staff were friendly. My only gripe was the service was slow. Well worth going though.
J. B.
Lovely hotel. Modern smart and comfortable. Close to the station and the bullring. Very courteous staff and great food. Would definitely use again. Excellent value for money.

Great stay as always , disappointing about the building works outside but nothing can be heard from inside . Just makes it very difficult to drop off as the drop off point behind the hotel is taken up by shoppers .The NCP car park on High Street you recommend is shocking . The spaces are too close together and the whole place doesn’t feel safe especially for ladies ( many areas are not well lit and isolated ) would not recommend this car park to any one .
One big major complaint about the hotel is about two members of your staff . One a gentleman who worked in the restaurant on the Monday evening and again at breakfast on the next morning The second is a lady who worked at breakfast showing guest to their tables and checking their reservations . The problem and concern is that both these members of staff seemed to be ignoring the co-vid rules not just set out the gov but by your hotel also . They had face mask on but they were never pulled up over their mouths or nose , they were worn at chin or neck level . So what is the point ? Guest come away to hotels somes times a little uneasy not knowing what to expect so they need to feel welcome and safe especial with the uncertainty of the world today . So as guests and we were not the only ones that saw this of your staff , that this kind of selfishness and not bothered attitude about the wearing of masks is not good enough especially with the high standard that Clayton hotels claim they have.
This needs looking into , it was also reported too the lady when we were checking out
A. S.
Lovely hotel the rooms are nice and spacious and the breakfast is excellent with a huge range of hot and cold food.
All the staff are super helpful and will definitely come back and stay again next time we are in Birmingham.
A. V.
My friends and I stayed here for a night out in Birmingham. The staff are professional and very friendly - the rooms are very clean and we had absolutely no issues. Made our time in Birmingham very memorable. Would highly recommend!
J. P.
Modern hotel in a great location for access to Birmingham's main shopping mall and some of its more interesting bars and restaurants in the Digbeth area. Service in the bar and restaurant was very friendly but a little slow and with a few quirks, such as no hot food being available at 1.30pm on a Saturday. Bonus point for having gluten-free bread though. Rooms are very clean with a great shower.
N. S.
10 min walk from the bullring, so decent location. Rooms compact but nice enough, bathroom needs a manager review, shower tap not working properly. No shampoo/conditioner/body lotion/shower cap in room, I would expect of a 4* hotel. The hi tech telephone control system didn't control and the TV remote was very basic. Staff nice if you are completely happy, dont quite know what to do if not. Probably wouldn't go back.
A. S.
Really lovely hotel. Room was spacious and clean and very modern.
Reception wait was long unfortunately and we were tired especially as the short cut walk from the car park was closed due to HS2 and no mention of this on the directions.
Breakfast was really top class with lots of variety.
All the staff we encountered were lovely too.
G. P.
A hotel that will literally look down on HS2 when that's finished in 40 years time, so the outlook from some rooms is of literally a building site, that aside, the rooms are lovely with all touch controls for lighting and air con. The big windows have big black out curtains that let in no light, another plus, wardrobe behind the bed and a power shower in the modern bathroom. Breakfast also excellent with plenty of choice
L. C.
I had the most amazing stay at the Clayton Hotel, Birmingham. We stayed for approx 3 weeks and had a wonderful experience from start to finish.
The rooms are air-conditioned, fresh and very comfortable. The air conditioning is totally silent, which is an added bonus. Rooms are cleaned daily to a very high standard. We had breakfast each morning, served in the modern and spacious restaurant area. Breakfast offered a great variety of options all freshly prepared and very enjoyable. The service was excellent too. Bar area is very relaxing and has an outdoor terrace which is lovely for drinks in the evening.
The staff are really professional, polite and attentive in all areas. My dealings were primarily with Melania at the Front Desk. She was always very helpful, warm and provided great assistance throughout our stay. As far as location goes it doesn’t get more central. Based in the heart of the City Centre within a 4-minute walk from the Bullring Shopping Centre/train station/bars & restaurants. I am regular visitor to Birmingham City and could not recommend anywhere else more highly to stay. Thank you! x
P. M.
This was our second visit with my girlfriends. Booked for a couple of days. Reception staff are lovely. Rooms are comfortable but no fridge. It is within walking distance of the Bullring and most central locations. Visiting Birmingham would recommend this hotel
Q. P.
This is my first time coming here with my mum.
We went here for high tea. (My first high tea) and it was amazing. The food was delicious, great atmosphere and the hotel is beautiful.
S. W.
Stayed overnight at this hotel so that my grand daughter could look at Birmingham City University. The hotel was in a great position between the university and the Bullring shopping centre, 10 minutes walk to each.
The hotel staff were very welcoming at check in, the rooms were spotlessly clean and had tea and coffee making facilities.
The breakfast was great with a large selection to choose from.
The only small negative is that the hotel does not have it's own car park. We parked at Millenium Point carpark which was 10 mins walk away.
I would definitely stay here again,.
D. S.
Ideal hotel right by Moore Street station and short walk into city centre. Good size bedrooms. Friendly and efficient staff. Nice bar and lounge area. Nice breakfast. Hope to visit again in the future.
M. C.
Lovely, comfortable, clean room. Plenty of variety for breakfast. Friendly, helpful staff. Close to shops. Would definitely stay again
M. B.
The Clayton is a modern comfortable hotel at a good price point. Food is reasonably priced and decent quality and the rooms are well sized and quiet. Slightly characterless, but much better than the budget options.
M. V.
Excellent stay. Great room. Staff always exceptional and go out of their way especially Melania at the front desk. Many thanks. Will definitely be staying again.
S.
Such an amazing experience for valentine’s day, Nawar at reception was so lovely and welcoming and also upgraded our room to a suite when we arrived which the room was incredible and could not have been any better. Will definitely recommend to everyone and will return.
C. K.
Excellent hotel, central to city clean all throughout.
Large rooms and very quiet.
Food very tasty, staff very friendly and efficient.
Cannot fault it at all will go again.
A.
We went to this hotel first time and it was absolutely fabulous five star service the staff are brilliant as well the breakfast was yummy..
Will definitely book again 😊😊
A. C.
Had such a nice time, front of desk staff were really helpful and lovely. Staff in restaurant were also so amazing they brought my partner out a chocolate plate thing for his birthday which was a lovely surprise. Cocktails were lovely and the food was lush I felt completely safe in the hotel. Would definitely recommend.
If I could be picky and wish one thing was that they offered would be room service that would be a nice touch. But apart from that we had a perfect time.
L. C.
Beautiful hotel ! Me and my sister stayed her Tuesday night and was made very welcome by the lovely receptionist called Danielle . She was very helpful and had a lovely personality . The hotel is absolutely gorgeous with stunning decor. Our room was a great size and everything was perfect . Bed was very comfy and would definitely stay there again
K. H.
Great place within walking distance of shops. Went for my 60th for one night.
Staff were fantastic and got 4 glasses of prosecco with the compliments of the hotel.
S. H.
Had an excellent stay!
Staff were exceptional throughout the hotel and very friendly. Special mention to Harry, Danni, Rachel, Jess and Tibor for making my stay memorable. Food was delicious and bedrooms were spotless clean.
S. R.
We have just stayed at this super hotel. Our wowcher deal was dinner bed and breakfast for 2 nights. The hotel is perfectly Centre for shopping at the bullring and Christmas markets
Best bits about this hotel- all staff are very welcoming, helpful, and very hardworking.
The breakfasts had such a fabulous variety to choose from
Dinner there was plenty of choice off the fixed menu, we also had a glass of prosecco complimentary each night which was a lovely touch.
The mojitos were also superb
Our bedroom had a large double and a single bed. Beds very comfy.
Our bedroom was immaculately clean and modern
Shower was perfect. Lots of clean towels
Lifts (I am not a lover of lifts at all) where quick and smooth and I felt safe in them
I can highly recommend this hotel.
Excellent value for money, and such a lovely stay had.
S. B.
Lovely modern hotel, friendly, just didn't like that at the bar they seemed to charge what they wanted not off the bar price list. Had 2 rounds the same, charged different. 😡
G. B.
Well sited and good price in city center. Staff friendly and welcoming. Room clean and with a good view. Will be coming back.
C. L.
We had a couple of issues to start but they were full sorted. First and importantly the staff were particularly very good and will single out Dan assistant manager and Charlotte. Charlotte front of house last Saturday. The room was actually a bit tired but we had a comfortable stay. The food was really excellent as was the service. So overall we very much enjoyed our stay.
p. c.
We had a pleasant 2 day stay room was good the food in restaurant was good the only complaint I have is with your bar pricing. How can you by a pint of Stella for five pounds ten pence and then charge three fifty for a half. This I find totally unacceptable especially when it doesn't state that price in the bar menu.
D. R.
We enjoyed 2 days at the Clayton hotel in the center of Birmingham. The room was clean with everything needed. We had a good choices for breakfast and dinner. The staff was warm and helpful. A good place to stay at a good price with easy access to everything.
S. B.
Stayed here on NYE with my partner and thoroughly enjoyed the stay. We come to this hotel a couple of times a year as it’s close to the city and the rooms and facilities are clean.
One thing I would say about this hotel is the staff, they are exceptional. Special mention to the lady on NYE in the restaurant who was wearing a red top, I believe she is the manager. She was very friendly and welcoming and attentive throughout the evening. Also thank you for a great welcome on arrival from Rachel at reception. Thank you Clayton Birmingham for a great stay as always.
R. T.
The reception staff were very helpful, when we needed to change our room due to noise coming from other hotel guests, in the room opposite. The restaurant for breakfast was well run. I have knocked a point off the overall score as the chef offered us eggs and we had explained we were vegan, so maybe need some training in this area?
L. G.
Third time here stayed on the 28-29 always great service, rooms and food. For the price and whats included only the Regis can compete. Always get good service from Paulette a friendly waitress and other staff members too. I would certainly come back again there's nothing not to like👍🏽🙏🏽❤
G. P.
Wow wow what a fantastic hotel.the food was amazing been there 3 times each time it gets better.the staff are friendly, the service is first class.
C. W.
Had a great overnight stay at this fab hotel. Lovely clean, comfortable room with generous sized bed. Excellent shower. All spotless.
Nice contemporary decor throughout. Feels very COVID-safe. Excellent breakfast selection. Good tasty food. Friendly staff. I recommend this hotel.
Only drawback is that the hotel does not have a car park. There are nearby NCP car parks but the one I used cost me £30 for an overnight stop. I recommend checking with the hotel which one is best to use before you arrive.
g. k.
Jessica was kind enough to give us an upgrade to a suite (due to a noise problem during a previous visit).
Lovely hotel and great staff. We were concerned, however, about the heating system which appeared to be capped at a max. of 18c which is very low plus the absence of a heated towel rail in the bathroom would give us an area of concern if we were planning a winter trip in the future. The restaurant obviously is pitched towards high end and it is not really acceptable to be offered sauces etc. in little plastic packets that you open with your teeth. Come on guys, change your policy here asap!
Personally as a whiskey drinker I was very disappointed that no 'ordinary' brands were available - only malts which are not to everybody's taste - all evening. Particularly at £7.50 a shot!
Having said all this the hotel is really nice and the staff are first-class.
S. G.
Husbands 60th birthday whilst we stayed at Clayton..we had cake and card in our room on arrival !
Dinner was fantastic...steak cooked to perfection and staff, friendly, polite and attentive.
Another cake after dinner.
Thankyou for making our stay special.
Cant recommend enough....we will be back. Thankyou to all at Clayton
c. h.
Stayed 4 nights, was bery happy with the Hotel. rooms very very nice, good security, good bar, but never tried the food; we ate out everynight! All the staff were very good, but especially the reception staff who were so helpful polite smart and professional; in particular Rachel and Harry who helped us a great deal and are a real credit to the Hotel. thanks for a great visit.
D. K.
Great hotel with friendly staff. Nice rooms with well appointed bathroom. Would like coffee in the room NOT to be Nescafé as Nestlé are not an ethical company. Dinner (tdh) was great but the desserts were rather disappointing. Lovely stay.
B. V.
Lovely hotel ! Spacious rooms , front of house were very welcoming and friendly, good location close to the bull ring and train station. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty.
T. P.
You can never go wrong with welcoming staff, thanks Paulette for such a warm service. It was our first time and the experience came with lingering memories, would definitely stay at yours again.
B. J.
Stay at Clayton Hotel last night with me, my partner and our 5 month old son...and will happily stay here again, was greeted by lovely staff, the room was beautiful couldn’t believe how big the room was, being able to sit back and having a variety of apps to choose from on the tv (e.g. netflix, Amazon prime, YouTube) and the bed was so comfortable and warm. There was a cot provided for us for our son and a laptop safe which came in handy. Thank you Clayton Hotel and Staff for having us we will be back soon!
Z. R.
Excellent hotel, the service was great, we arrived early and they were about to check us in, we booked the shop and dine package which was great as we got a £20 Selfridges voucher. The dinner was 3 courses which was great, tasty food and good service. Breakfast was excellent, it was a buffet style although you tell them what you want. Hotel seems new and everything is well decorated, the room is very modern, the light switches and heating was easy to use. Only problem was the phone screen by the bed was very bright when we were going to bed, so had to find something to cover it. I’d highly recommend when your in Birmingham.
D. B.
Moved from the Jury's inn due to the A/C not working and just a horrible experience. Right from the telephone call to the welcome, to the room, to the breakfast and just everything was absolutely amazing! Beautiful hotel with wonderful staff who smile and were just kind. Extremely helpful and very attentive. The hotel was lovely throughout including the dining area where the breakfast was delicious. All staff were wonderful including a young bar manager and another gentleman who sounded Spanish in the morning, but all the other workers were also wonderful. I cannot thank you enough for making my family and my experience so great. Location is amazing too!
D. L.
Used Clayton Hotel again Saturday 11th December for Xmas market, disappointed in turnout also cold and wet, thanks to the Claytons service and atmosphere we had a great weekend. special offer with 3 course evening meal and glass of prosecco great staff Thanks Charlotte (Restaurant Manager) and Miguel (waiter). Great deal on NCP car park £14.95 instead of £24.95 great location for Bullring shopping area
C. G.
i only stayed for one night but the level of welcoming and assistance offered to me was exceptional.
would like to say thank you to all the staff i came across during my stay and look forward to returning in december.
see you soon😀x
S. S.
Beautiful hotel ! We had a lovely stay , all staff was very helpful and polite 🤗 food was beautiful, would recommend the breakfast buffet 😋 would highly recommend the hotel , we would stay again if in the area 😁
C. B.
We stayed here on a Groupon deal which included one night's stay, three course meal and breakfast.
Located walking distance and very close to New Street and Moor Street train stations, we checked in online and on arrival it was simple process of collecting the room card key.
Hotel created a good first impression with modern clean interior and professional front of house.
Room was comfortable, bed amazing. Large screen lcd TV, power shower, complimentary drinks and snacks all combine to give a nice experience where you feel valued.
We were pleased with the meal that was part of the offer and did nt feel need to pay and upgrade to different menu. Decent wine list. Bar had only one draft beer, all other draft beers and ciders were out of stock. Not sure if that's Brexit? Cocktail offer was good and these were well made.
Great nights sleep followed by great breakfast where there was so much choice. From cereals, cold cuts and cheese, hot cooked and fruit and yoghurt. Bakery section was good too. Quality coffee.
Very professional well run hotel. Clearly has high standards and we will return for another night away soon and stay here
W. M.
The hotel is great. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. The breakfast is amazing. The staff is really nice and helpful.
l. k.
Hotel was nice and clean. Staff were helpful and friendly. Loved the deep bath, shower and large bed in the junior suite :) i would recomend not using the suggested ncp high street car park recomended on the hotels website. The car park printed the ticket wrong, the car park is tight as it is, we tried to leave and the barrier wouldnt accept the ticket. No staff to help on a sunday, held loads of people up and ended up having to pay £25 for a lost ticket! After all that got offered much nicer parking in the selfridges car park :) the hotel is lovely though, ideal location for everything you would want to see and do
M. N.
Great room, king size bed was comfort itself. The hotel is in a great location - three minutes walk from city shopping, restaurants, pubs, Bull Ring market and for sightseeing. Reception staff really helpful when booking in, took the time to provide a map of the city and highlighted sights and places to visit. Had the breakfast and 3 course meal deal for two nights. The food was excellent and beautifully presented and, again, the restaurant and bar staff were very attentive. Great seating around the bar area for a relaxing drink and dining area welcoming. A lovely touch, when booking the stay a month previously it must have been noted by the hotel staff that it was our 25th wedding anniversary and we were presented with a special chocolate dessert with piped anniversary message and complementary Prosecco at dinner. Whole experience was impressive from the beginning to the end of our stay. Will definitely go again.
S. D.
Great rooms and very good security. However breakfast is a stodgy greasy mess from a buffet with eggs and beans that look like they have been there for hours in a congealed and very unappetising mess.
J. T.
Absolutely fab, lovely staff, rooms, restaurant and reception very clean and bright. So convenient for the Bull Ring, Primark and the Christmas Market.
Would definitely stay here again
B. O.
The reason I am leaving a 5 star review, is because of the service received at the hotel, it was exceptional. A special mention to Steven Byrne in reservations for an unbelievable attitude toward customer care.
M. L.
Really impressed with this hotel. The room was spacious, clean & had lots of amenities. The breakfast was amazing!
P. W.
Very good hotel, great service, staff friendly. So handy for shopping center. Will definitely go again
A. F.

Nice location, close to Bullring, train stations, buses.
Very nice staffs, helpful, the room (Deluxe Double) was spacious, clean.
Would love to be back again.

Fanstatic overnight stay. Staff friendly and welcoming, room spotless and the beds are so comfortable I could have slept forever! Will definitely return.

Went for afternoon tea here very pleasant waiter . Ambiance very pleasant cakes and drinks offered very very good
S. M.
Whent for afternoon tea, D, who greeted and seated us is simply an amazing person, hostess, etc will definitely be back,
(I would. Give 10 stars if able)
W. K. Y.
The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance to the train station and to town as well. For a standard double room, the room was spacious for two people and modern. The restaurant had a good selection of continental and hot English breakfast to choose from and the dinner selection was good too. The room could have benefited with a box of facial tissues.
F. D.
Very clean and good value hotel. My boyfriend and I spent one night there and we had a good room.
The only thing is that they did not provide updated info about the road closures in front of the hotel and parking/loading and unloading the car was a bit of a nightmare. But overall the stuff was nice, the room was clean and location wise it was relatively central.
G. B.
Stayed here several times during a shopping trip to Brum.
Staff are excellent food is amazing and rooms are what you expect from a city centre hotel.
P. A.
Excellent stay. Room was lovely and had everything you could want. Breakfast was excellent with an enourmous range of food and drinks. Staff were efficient and so friendly and yet relaxed. Top marks on customer care. We had a deal via a travel company and this meant we enjoyed excellent value for money. Would recommend the hotel to anyone.
A. J.
From the moment we arrived everything was fantastic. Service at check-in was very smooth, staff extremely helpful and friendly. The decortions and furniture were lovely. We got to our room and it was well above our expectations, clean plenty of room, towels, tea and coffee making facilities shower was amazing beds and pillows really comfy. We went out for the evening meal but returned about 9pm and spent the rest of the evening in the bar. The young man that looked after us was so professional (Dan) we were really looked after, and were amazed to see him again at breakfast, he was even outside to wave us off when our mini bus arrived an excellent team worker to be proud off. We will most definitely be there again well done to you all at the Clayton
J. G.
Very good hotel very happy very pleased the service and different recommend go again
J. S.
From check in to check out, our stay was excellent. Staff excellent, room, although a little small was clean. Just a little advice. If you're not going out in the car while you're staying in The Clayton Birmingham, use the Moor Street Carpark as it's only £11 per exit. You can't park outside to unload your luggage due to HS2 construction but there's parking for 20 minutes at the side of the hotel.
S.
Perfect location.
I visited Birmingham for a shopping trip, I wanted to treat my daughter after what’s been a horrible year for everyone!!
Location was a priority, didn’t want to walk to far into town and wanted parking nearby. The NCP car park was opposite the hotel and was only £12 on exit, the Bull ring shopping centre was only a 5 minute plod too.
I contacted the hotel on the arrival morning asking if I could possibly change from a double room to a twin and they were more than happy to do that for us.
On arrival we noticed how clean the hotel was, the receptionist was extremely helpful and polite.
Our room was a lovely size and the beds were extremely comfortable.
Ohh and the shower!!! Perfect, a fixed shower which had an adjustable head - great for everyone and a handheld hose.
We had breakfast in the morning and it was delicious, beautifully cooked.
Will 100% be back, thank you for a wonderful stay.
M. A.
Great hotel in a great location. Would highly recommend if visiting Birmingham.
T. A.
It was our first time staying at the Clayton Hotel. The location was great as a short walk from the Bullring and parking available at a NCP opposite -discounted for hotel residents.
The staff were welcoming and friendly. The evening meal in the restaurant was great and a fantastic breakfast.
I have already booked to visit again with my sisters.
E. G. R.
Went back here for my anniversary as we stopped here after we got engaged so we went back for afternoon tea and it was beautiful!! Staff was brilliant very professional and made our little time there special best afternoon tea I have had would go back anytime, would recommend it to anyone thanks again loved it!
M. W.
Stayed with friends for a 40th birthday. The stay and dine package. We were all in rooms close together, rooms comfortable. Comfy beds and great shower. 3 course dinner was good and breakfast to a very good standard. Staff were welcoming and friendly. Had a voucher for a glass of prosecco and shopping. Great value and we all enjoyed. Will definitely return
J. C.
Could I just say a huge thank you to Catriona and her team for a wonderful stay.
You kindly arranged an extended stay to our room to allow us to get changed after our sons graduation ceremony which we were most grateful for.
The service, food and hospitality throughout was excellent and we look forward to staying again.
Thank you again for going above and beyond to make our stay extra special.
D. O.
Amazing hotel with modern and clean rooms. The bar and reception area are really modern and welcoming! We stayed in a junior suite which was well kitted out.
P. S.
Room classed as deluxe but pretty standard although perfectly fine. 7th floor on side of building very dark so no natural daylight, room didn't feel or smell freshly cleaned but may not have been used much due to restrictions. Impressive lobby and communal areas, nice friendly staff, breakfast food fairly standard and overpriced but as normal for a chain. Doing an OK job all in all, especially liked their tech touches though, great for a business traveller.
J.
Great hotel with new decor and friendly staff. Our room was very spacious. The only issue that we had was having a car in Birmingham City as it adds an extra cost. We had to pay £8 a day as a clean air fee. The hotel doesn't have free parking, but they do validate your parking if you use the NCP car park. It costs £12 a day. The location is very close walking distance to the main city centre. The area around the hotel is being built up.

Me and my wife had amazing day with the afternoon tea. Service was excellent 10/10. I'm sorry I never got the waiters name but he was on point with his Service to us. Made us feel unique. I'm looking at booking a suit for the day very soon. So I have somewhere I trust to get ready for the night out on the town
D. P.
Hotel itself is great. Rooms are fab but parking instructions were not super clear. Followed GPS and took me to the parking that is not the high street one so would be better if you give clearer instructions that need to drive further down road as GPS takes you to the wrong one when there are more than parking in same postal code.
M.
Our second stay at the Clayton Hotel and again did not disappoint at all! Amazing service from Dan and the others at breakfast. Room was just as great. Our go to spot when visiting Birmingham! Will 100% be returning :)
R. G.
Good Hotel over all,but had a chance to speak with the housekeeping staff. I was shocked to hear that blood is sucked out from staff. Poor wages and tons of work to do. Not very good for this good hotel. Reputation, who cares.!
M. W.
This is an amazing hotel. They have us a free upgrade whn they heard that we should have been getting married that day. Melania on reception was amazing but so were all the other staff. Breakfast was awesome. First time we've been here but will definitely be back.

Afternoon tea was amaazing. Honestly the best Afternoon tea I've had. All the sandwiches 🥪 amazing. The bread was soft. White and brown bread. Very flavoursome. Like they'd been made with care and attention to detail. Not just slapped together like previous Afternoon teas I've been to. The cakes, also very nice. A few of the flavours not to my liking but all looked very cute.
The tea was nice and smooth. I drink oat milk and they were more than happy to meet my dietary requirements.
It was fairly quiet when we arrived (2pm) only 2 other tables occupied. Goood. I love minimal people about when enjoying food. Less noise, less bodies lol. When we were leaving it was alot more busy.
Lovely layout. Friendly attentive staff (not all but most of them)
I'm not going to lie only downside was this one annoying fly 🪰 omg soo annoying. A tiny fruit fly I guess due to the fresh flowers as I saw another at the check in desk but a fly nonetheless. Other than that everything else was perfectly fine.
Would highly recommend Afternoon tea at the Clayton hotel. 4 stars for a reason.

Very helpful and friendly staff, lovely & welcoming hotel, room very clean, tidy & spacious (only criticism could have better lighting in room) like the security aspect of having key to get to floors, we felt safe that the hotel was adhering to covid guidelines, dinner and breakfast was lovely. Fantastic value for money and certainly will be staying again (have already booked) also hotel very centrally located for shopping & nightlife.

Clayton Hotel was modern and clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. Ample WiFi connectivity.I stayed on bed and breakfast basis. Breakfast menu had a very wide choice. Scrambled eggs are available as part of the hot breakfast buffet selection. Omelettes, poached eggs and pancakes are available on request. Fruit, yoghurt, herbal teas, coffee, fruit juice, muffin, pastries, etc etc. The Bullring Shopping Center is 5 minutes away from the Clayton. Although the Clayton doesn't have a dedicated car park, the hotel has special concessionary arrangements with the nearby NCP car park

Very comfortable. Friendly, welcoming and attentive staff. Good bar. Comfortable rooms. Extensive breakfast options let down a little by rather ordinary hot(warmish) offering.

Just got back from a one night stay. Everything perfect as usual and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

Second visit for us during Pandemic,
Absolutely amazing place!
Very clean and welcoming.
We were lucky to have a suite this time and highly recommend! That bath is something else 😍
Lovely staff and very professional attitude towards guests.
Breakfast was delicious and generous portions!
Thankyou! ❤

Tea and Nelson Distillery gin distilling. The distilling class was amazing, but the tea was nothing fancy and came VERY late.

Once again a wonderful stay at the Clayton . It’s amazing how the staff remember you with the amount of visitors . All the managers and staff ( reception.bar.dining room are so polite and helpful they go above and beyond to make sure your stay is comfortable clean and welcoming .. we will be returning to you and will recommend your hotel to our friends . Thankyou all and keep well and safe all of you . Xx Ann and Rex Beach xx

The hotel is well located in Birmingham City centre and it is relatively new. However, what really sets the hotel apart is the professionalism and friendliness of its staff. From the check-in on arrival to the bar and restaurant staff, everyone we met was kind and helpful. We really appreciated the advice of Melania at reception about what to do and where to eat, and being able to practice our Spanish in the morning with Ricardo. Thank you for the lovely stay.
L. O. S.
I loved this hotel, I was from London and wanted a hotel right next to the city centre. This was perfect!! I loved how everything was 5 mins away from where we stayed. It is very clean and well equipped. Thanks for such a great stay!! Definitely recommend it if your visiting Birmingham:) also staff are very friendly which always helps.
P. G.
The hotel is in a very good location for the city centre . The rooms are really nicely finished and the whole hotel looks very classy. Unfortunately during are stay there was a function taking place on the second floor with a live band which was very loud are room was just about this on the third floor (room 305) we checked in just after three o'clock after a long drive hoping to relax and enjoy the room before going out for the evening but this wasn't possible with the noise being so loud in the room. I did go down and spoke to a member of staff at six o'clock he told me it was due to stop very soon and for a while it was better before starting up again thankfully it ended around seven o'clock.

Awesome hotel in the middle of Birmingham. We had lovely time and staff was amazing. We would definitely stay here again and would not hesitate to recommend to everyone. PS: price was great too !
P. D.
Beautiful hotel, friendly staff. Clean, comfortable and gas all necessary amenities. Great location. Highly recommend and would absolutely stay again.
R. C.
Had dinner here during our stay we were welcomed and all our needs were met by Discel we were delighted with the service she went the extra mile would definately recommend her and the clayton hotel
A. F.
I write this review whilst I'm still staying at the hotel (Thats how satisfied I am).
From the start the staff at the hotel have been amazing, polite, professional and extremely accommodating to our needs (We have a one year old). Nothing is too much for these guys and everything is done promptly and effectively with a smile on their faces.
Breakfast service is great, so much on offer, rooms are clean and tidy and offer a good range of services that you would usually expect but it feels nice to have access to these even if you may not use them, ie TV, kettle in the room, complimentary water bottles, a safe, iron, ironing board. There isn't anything really missing.
The only slight issue we encountered was parking (opposite the hotel, NCP car park) which means parking and then walking back to the hotel. However the bull ring is only a 3 minute walk away so you don't really need the car as much. The cost for parking is £12 for 24 hours, not bad at £0.50 per hour right?
The beds are extremely comfortable, lighting in the rooms is nice also.
I would definitely come back again to visit and stay at the Clayton.
PS. The night staff on the 9th July were fantastic, we arrived late, exhausted and run down but they made everything smooth for us and ensured we checked in with no hassle!
Room 715 :)
M. T.
Very nice hotel comfortable rooms and very pleasant staff.
C. E.
Brilliant daughter had her wedding party there ,the rooms were spacious and had everything you need definately stay again .
J. I.
Very nice hotel with a good location, 2 minute walk to the car park and the bull ring in eye view. Bar is good and staff friendly.
A. W.
Perfect place to have a lovely break and the bullring right on your door step what more can you ask for
M. B.
Beautiful hotel but couldn't understand why people were allowed in the dining area without masks on.
Y. Y.
A genuinely great hotel with 5* staff. Thank you to Andreea for a magnificent stay and for going the extra mile - apologies we did not see you when we checked out!
Treat yourself to an executive room. It would easily pass as a five star room. Will be staying again when next in Birmingham.
J. S.
Lovely stay for work as always. Special thanks to the receptionist who lent me her phone charger for 4 days when I forgot to pack mine and the lovely young man who served us our breakfast . Efficient and always remembered our drinks order and really friendly.
J. H.
Thank you for our overnight stay. Special thank you to Paulina in the restaurant for her great service. Jon & Carol Hayfield
F.
Very pleased with our hotel room. Great service from staff before we went to stay. We booked a double room but they were able to add a cot and single bed in to a much larger room for us for our children at no extra cost.
Hotel reception looked great, especially the light up tree which my little one was fascinated with. Reminded me a little bit of Alice in Wonderland with the oversized lights etc which I loved.
Room was spacious and a nice size. The size of the window from ceiling to floor was great.
We were put in a accessibility room - the shower was powerful but this meant that the floor was covered in water after even a quick shower...
Soap would have been nice to have had in the bathroom.
More food choice at breakfast would have been nice, though it was a nice enough spread. And we understand that die to covid regulations things are probably not as they usually are.
Parking at the hotel would have been ideal with two kids and luggage, but good to have a concessionary exit only charge car parking space at Selfridges.
Overall a very pleasant and comfortable stay. This was our first time at a Clayton hotel - would stay again in the future.
F. A.
We had a wonderful stay.. great staff great facilities. Very friendly and nothing is too much for them with any queries you may have. Love this place. Veryodern and clean too 👍 thank you to all the staff throughout.
D. O.
Very nice hotel nice staff good vibes had no issues

Amazing afternoon tea menu - absolutely delicious. Very polite and professional staff which made our experience even more enjoyable. A big shout out to Dan Clark-Coates for looking after us and giving us a birthday plate on the house.
K. M.
Absolutely Amazing hotel clean and so welcoming

Jessica deserves promoting !!!
Thankyou Birmingham from Yorkshire.
G. G.
Fab hotel right in the centre of town. Lovely rooms, spotlessly clean with everything you could want.
Breakfast was excellent and staff were so, so nice and friendly.
Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Birmingham.
H. B.
We loved our stay at the Clayton, only feedback I have is that it would be great if the car park details were a little more accurate. We were told to park in the NCP car park on Dale End for an exclusive price for hotel stayers. What we didn’t realize is that there are 2 NCP car parks opposite each other and we parked in the wrong one. Leaving us with a £30 car park fee.
K. W.
Lovely hotel, short walk from high street, close to everything, highly recommend
A. L.
I have stayed at Clayton Birmingham a couple of times now and this stay met the usual high standrads I have come to expect from this hotel.
As always, the reception staff are warm and welcoming when entering the beautiful foyer. Check-in is prompt, polite and easy. I also felt reassured by the clear procedures and santisers in place for protection during this pandemic.
The room was clean and comfortable. The room was smaller this stay compared to my visit before Chirstmas: a chair insted of a chaise, a view of a block of flats instead of the spectacle of the Bullring centre... but perhaps that is due to me selecting/paying for a smaller room this time. However, the room still had a homely, yet stylish feel to it, with a spacious, hot shower and it offered a peaceful night's sleep in a comfortable bed - exactly what I needed.
The staff are professional, friendly and very accomodating. The hotel is perfectly located for both business and pleasure... once we are all allowed to socalise and shop again. I look forward to my next visit to Clayton Hotel and I will pay more attention to my room selection to hopefully enjoy one of your more spacious, glamorous rooms as they are a true delight.
Thank you
J. H.
Great location, excellent breakfast, and very friendly helpful staff
L. C.

J. W.
Fantastic hotel, from booking with Harry who was an absolute pleasure to deal with to the front desk team and restaurant staff. Hotel was super clean and Covid safe. The food was lovely and our suite was fantastic too. We shall definitely return as it was a great base for some fantastic days out, The National Arboretum which I would highly recommend. Thank you Team Clayton you have nailed Customer Service and always with a smile!
S. I.
The service was amazing. Paulette was absolutely friendly and helped out a lot. I would definitely recommend you coming to this hotel and trying out the bar. The staff are really friendly.
H. B.
I have been visiting the Clayton for the last couple of months and I have to say the hotel is lovely - room clean and spacious and the staff are totally amazing, they really care. From managers such as Katrina and Jason who are always interested in your feedback, matched with their friendly personalities makes your stay feel very familiar ( like you are visiting family) . Staff such as Charlotte, Harry and Melania- your stay will be a 5* , these guys are switch on and dedicated to making sure you have best experIence possible, all while being their own fun personalities - keep going A-Team, the Clayton chain are very lucky to have such an amazing, driven team x
C. B.
Hotel room was lovely, loved the shower!!, food was lovely and staff were friendly would go back

Hi all I would recommend staying at the Clayton Birmingham. the hotel was really nice comfy rooms.
Bar was a nice place to be, but didn’t get much time in it because with my son.
Didn’t eat at restaurant, but was no reason for that. It did look lovely though.
Would recommend the breakfast, it was fabulous.
Not heard of the hotel chain before, but hopefully will get the chance to stay again.
All the staff from reception to bar etc etc was a credit to the company.
Thank you
R. T.
From the time that I checked in to the time that I left . This is one of the best hotels that iv stayed in every thing was out standing .the staff was amazing and so friendly and helpful

Very clean and nice hotel. Friendly staff. Afternoon tea was tasteful and made using fresh ingredients.
Unlimited hot drinks with afternoon tea.

I've stayed at this hotel on three occasions. Every single time, it has been an absolute joy. The staff, the rooms, the breakfast have been top notch. I have to give a shout out to the following members of staff, Jess, Artur & Aziz. They've been a delight because not only are they professional, but they know exactly what they they are doing.
We forget sometimes this is essentially a hospitality service they're providing but they have met my expectations admirably. Just a shame I live in London and can't get to see them more often.
I wish them all the best and I hope them the very best for future.
Every time I come, I'll meet them with a smile. It's not every day you meet good human beings.
A honourable mention for the hotel manager Katrina. She is absolutely marvellous. I hope she also goes on like the others to better things. Naturally, everyone tries to love their job but earning a living is hard in the city and before you know it, you're gone.
Hold onto the moments because life will just pass you by before you know it.

Excellent weekend! Great clean hotel with lovely attentive staff. Close to the shopping centres and two main line stations. There is also a car parking facility close by.
c. c.
Lovely clean hotel with a beautiful entrance hall. The key entrance to the room corridor enhanced the feeling of security when in the room. All staff were professional and efficient, this includes the chambermaids. Very good beds with great pillows of different "softness". We had dinner and the service was excellent. The food was delicious and perfectly cooked. The reception staff were well-trained and very pleasant. Nisha in the dining room was amazing. Great place, we will stay again. Thank you.

I had my Pre-wedding ladies afternoon tea there two years ago and returned there with my husband celebrating our 2nd anniversary excellent service , excellent food. Lovely rooms!
K. M.
Gets better every time if that’s possible! Jessica sorted us an amazing deal and Christine can’t do enough for you in the restaurant! Food room and service was exceptional and we can’t wait to return!
O. P.
Really good stay at the hotel. Very clean and modern looking rooms with an amazing bed, Tv and massive shower! 3 course dinner was gorgeous however we got the wrong main served but decided to leave it as it would’ve took too long to make another. All staff at the hotel we’re very welcoming and professional. Thank you!
G. S.
Lovely hotel. Very modern and central to Birmingham.
R. Q.
The staff is excellent and they go out of the way to take care of you! There had been a mistake with my booking but Melania the receptionist sorted it out fully and made sure I was okay and happy the next day. I think good customer service is what sets one place apart from others! The rooms are also gorgeous and the breakfast has plenty of variety and was delicious! Definitely recommend it!
A. A.
Absolutely loved the restaurant. The food was delicious and the service from our waitress Paulette outstanding. I definitely recommend it !
S. C.
Overall I enjoyed my stay at the the hotel. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. An enormous walk in shower made it a pleasure to use. My only criticism would be the bar/restaurant. I wanted a light lunch but the waiters lack of understanding of English ended up with 3 slices of toast instead of bread and butter or a roll. When i queried it all i got was a smile and a shrug.
P. P.
The hotel is at a convenient location with amazing facilities and staff. The breakfast was very good and the rooms are brilliant. I was impressed with the touch screen pad for room main switches. Room was was perfect and stone throw away from the German market and train station.
Have beautiful set up and great bar and restaurant ambience.
Staff is super friendly and helpful.
Special thanks to Melania for such a warm welcome and conversation. I guess we could spend hours talking to her at the reception.
A. P.
We had afternoon tea for 10 people service was excellent and helpful staff
Very enjoyable and Thank you
D. R.
Excellent hotel, good location for central Birmingham, close for shopping and night life
C. V.
Great place. Excellent check-in experience. Friendly staff. Was upgraded upon arrival which is always welcome when travelling a lot in business.
Nice room. Spacious. Panoramic windows, unfortunately facing the very boring building site between the hotel and the large, and very fancy, shopping centre. That is hardly the fault of the hotel, though.
Very close to train station, and everything you might need in Birmingham. Plenty of restaurants nearby, and shopping, if you have the time.
Excellent breakfast. Exceeded my expectations by far.
Overall very pleasant ambiance. Would definitely stay again. And again.
J. L.
Stayed Friday night. Staff really friendly, always had a smile on their face.
Room was lovely and clean.
We had a 3 course meal booked at the hotels grill restaurant and the only thing that really let it down and stops me from giving a full score of 5 is our dinner was booked at 8pm, we had to wait around 40 minutes for our starters to come out, then again a long wait for dinner then same with pudding by the time our pudding came out it was gone past 10pm (too late for me to eat pudding) we had to ask at two different times how long food would be.
Yes it was busy at first so we understand it would take slightly longer but by the time we had our dinner there was hardly many people left eating and we were still kept waiting ages. It was such a shame as everything else was lovely.
Good location to the bullring as we went shopping the next day.
Would stop here again but would probably go out for dinner instead.

My family and I stayed at this wonderful hotel over Christmas period. Well it was Excellent!!!! Staff are so friendly and helpful. The ladies who worked on Christmas Day and Boxing Day on breakfast buffet were amazing outstanding hardworking staff. The food was excellent so tasty. The hotel rooms were fantastic and very clean. The reception staff and the hotel manager where so welcoming . I highly recommend this hotel you will be so pleased .

Great hotel great service would recommend it to people restaurant food fantastic breakfast fantastic too

My husband and I have stayed at the hotel before, and it never disappoints us !
The service and surprise for our wedding anniversary from Paulette who served us this passed Saturday was great. 👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿 To the Clayton.
K. M.
Overall lovely modern clean hotel. Excellent, attentive staff but a constant hum in room 702 on the 7th floor made sleeping very difficult. Set dinner menu was very limited. Tempura vegetables were greasy and pesto did nothing to cut through the grease. Vegetarian roasted artichoke risotto (missing artichoke) had added peas and spring onions and little else to raise it above bland. Roast chicken breast was excellent as were both desserts. The black forest sundae and the apple and blackberry crumble. Breakfast also excellent with all tastes catered for. Restaurant staff excellent.
We will return but choose a room on a lower floor. Thank you for an almost excellent stay.
D. P.
Lovely room, lovely meals and brilliant service from friendly staff here. Really enjoyed our one night stay here.

I was only staying at the Clayton hotel in Birmingham for one night but it was a very positive experience. When I arrived, the reception staff were very efficient and I was soon in my well appointed room - a big king-sized bed and a single bed too which was more than enough for just me. Very high tech room facilities (even if the TV didn't receive hi-def) though I had to phone reception to work out why the lights kept switching off after about a minute. Once I realised I needed to put my room card in a slot by the lighting control it was easy. Next stop was the bar for a quick drink then to the hotel's restaurant for an excellent dinner. I retired to bed for a jolly good night's sleep. The buffet breakfast next morning was wonderful and really set me up for the day ahead. A very full-English breakfast - a very pleasant indulgence once in a while. Checkout was completely uneventful and the receptionist was very helpful and quickly sorted out a taxi for me. Very stylish modern decor throughout the hotel: it really was a pleasure to stay there.
M. M.
Nice hotel. Clean, spacious rooms (I stayed in the deluxe double)and well located next to Moor St station and the Bull Ring. The bar was quiet but restaurant quite busy. Friendly staff and good value for money.
T. P.
Christmas is a very special time and The Clayton Hotel contributed to the specialness on Christmas Night into Boxing Day. All the staff were really welcoming, warm and helpful.
We arrived really late on Christmas night and they treated us as if it was no trouble at all.
And then we opened the door to our room and were taken aback by the space, stylishness and technology of it all. Truly excellent. We felt very chic!
P. S.
Excellent all round service, the staff could not do enough to help. very clean excellent breakfast. Will defiantly stay again. thanks
P. B.
Spent a night staff very friendly and helpful. In the city of Birmingham so easy access to shops. Food good hotel and room clean . Would differently book again
T. C.
Breakfast was amazing service was wonderful the menu for breakfast was limited i was told but you do not lack for options for things to eat. The room was great very well presented the bed was comfortable the room was clean few spots of dust above the bed but for the most part great condition would highly recommend and i will be coming back.
L. F.
The hotel itself is very nice. Nice rooms but badly designed for storage. We had to remove spare pillow and ironing board to make enough room for clothes. Sadly lacking in hangers too. Luckily I took some of my own. The bar, whilst nice, closed at 11.30 which was extremely disappointing as we were there for a celebration and expected to be able to have a few drinks after returning from a night out. Doubt we'll go here again.
P. M.
Nice hotel, friendly and helpful staff. Good was good. Service was excellent.
J. P.
Never fails... Great location. Lovely staff. Fabulous food. Felt very clean and safe. Fabulous dinner bed and breakfast deals. Thank you. Can't wait to stay again.
J. F.
Lovely hotel, nice room, good location and dinner in the restaurant was really tasty
L. B.
Couldn't fault this place at all was impressed with everything clean very welcoming staff so polite nothing was to much trouble was upgraded as it was my birthday food was excellent and afternoon tea was so good loads better than some of the top hotels I've been would recommend this hotel and love to stay here again well done to all
M. G.
I was disappointed. We visited for our wedding anniversary as a bit of a treat. Paid Groupon about £120 for the executive suite with three course meals prosecco and breakfast. BUT we had to pay an extra £10 each for what we wanted to eat from the menu (steak and chips / lamb shank and cheese board) so really it cost £150. The room was not an executive suite.it was a normal standard hotel room and the view was rubbish just facing another high-rise block. The shower was a pain to operate and wasn't very powerful. No hair dryer. Bed was comfy and it was clean. Staff were great. Food in the restaurant was great (apart from my chewy steak 🥩 ) breakfast 5*. But one of the main problems we had was the distance from the recommended car park to the hotel in the pouring rain it's just to far to walk with a case and it was pouring with rain so we got absolutely soaked. There are roadworks which maybe stopped us walking a quicker way. But I just wanted to chill and the easy life so if I'd have known about the walk I would definitely have got a taxi to the hotel and got dropped off without all the hassle of the walk. Basically the experience was all ok but not great. I cant fault the staff or cleanliness though really good. Note to the hotel if you don't want more poor reviews like this stop charging supplements on the menu (I could have gone to weatherspoons for a better steak and chips than that and it would have cost less than a tenner :-/) and don't call regular hotel rooms executive as it increases expectations. I walked into the room expecting it to be better than it was and I just looked at the wife and went hrmm...
C. A.
From entering to leaving the hotel was a great, all the staff very friendly and chatty. The rooms were clean, warm and the bed soooo comfortable. Meal in the evening, 3 Courses for £27 was amazing, all 3 courses were spot on and great service through out the meal. Breakfast was great, good choice, everything nice and hot. Would highly recommend a visit/stay at this hotel if coming to Birmingham, and its within 5 minutes walk from Moor Street train stain. Thanks to all the staff Xx
K. P.
Clean and scenic environment. Enjoyed my time here.
D. R.
Hotel is being remodelled outside so a little bit hectic but not a problem when you get inside. Staff were fantastic, only problem I had was I was given a room that had not been cleaned but I spoke to reception and the girl got me another room straight away and gave me a complimentary drinks voucher. That's the only reason I am giving 4☆ instead of 5.Limited menu options at the moment with covid but all hotels are the same at this present time. Also you can get a deal for parking in the bullring shopping centre carpark which is just across the road from the hotel. Park in there, walk back to the hotel and they have a machine at reception that validates your parking to £11.
P. W.
Nice hotel, great breakfast, lovely decor, shower was a bit under powered, also the air con in the room struggled to chill the room but was extreme July 2021 heat wave
N. P.
Wow, a lovely stylish hotel. Staff were all really friendly and helpful. Paulette from the Grill Restaurant deserves a mention. She was attentive, caring, friendly and really efficient. Food in the restaurant was really good as was breakfast.
The only thing I would mention is there was only 1 bath towel and 1 hand towel in our room. I didn't report at as I am not sure if this was an error or part of an energy saving program, either way it didn't effective our stay at all. If going out at night it is about 28 minutes walk to get to the Canal / Broad Street, so worth getting a taxi- the reception staff were more then happy to call us one when we asked for a number.
We would love to return here again.
L. L.
We arrived at the hotel to be told that I was guest of the day and upgraded to a suite. Fantastic room and service from all the staff. We hadn't booked for dinner but the restaurant manager squeezed us in - much appreciated. Lovely modern and high tech hotel. Thanks to all the staff.
S. N.
We have just returned from a one night stay at the Clayton Hotel on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis, and were so impressed with this hotel.
For the price we paid, we thought it might be too good to be true, but it certainly wasn't.
The hotel is in a great central location, close to many shops, restaurants and bars.
It looks great from the outside, and is even better inside, especially the public areas, reception, bar and restaurant.
The rooms are equally as nice, clean and spacious, with everything you could need, along with a few extra modern touches like the light and temperature controls.
Check-in and check-out were both seamless, with the reception staff being extremely friendly, professional and helpful.
Dinner was really nice, and our waitress Robyn went above and beyond to provide us with a first class service.
Breakfast was also lovely, and so much more organised than many top chain hotels that we have visited in the past.
Overall, we were so pleased that we chose to stay at the Clayton, and will definitely return there on our next visit to Birmingham. We will also recommend the hotel highly to friends and family.
M.
Beautiful hotel in Birmingham city centre, with very helpful staff and good facilities. Using conference facilities, we were well looked after. Strange set up with tea and coffee far far away from meeting room, but it gave us chance to have a little exercise when getting it. Cafeteria well equipped and amazing hot cookies served in the morning. Very enjoyable.
M. M.
We stayed for one night after a cancer congress.
Our room and bed were very comfortable.
The hotel is wonderful. The staff are extremely helpful.
Our meal for the evening was lovely and our breakfast was one of the best we have had.
I would definitely stay here again. Congratulations to you all!!!!
P. L.
The hotel was great. Clean rooms and good service.
We were provided with a cot for the baby, however, the mattress was very hard (it was just a piece of padded plastic) and our daughter only was able to sleep in her own pram rather than the bed.
Other than that all good.
P. R.
From the point I walked in I felt like a valued customer. Only stayed one night or I'm sure they would have corrected my only complaint (that they did take note of on departure). Would have been five stars except for the shower head needed cleaning to help it to operate properly. The secondary shower wand was working and so I was not left without a shower. No other complaints just delight with the restaurant menu and a find breakfast.
M. n.
Honestly, this has been the best hotel I have been to in a while. The reception staff were incredibly polite and helpful, the rooms were immaculate and the morning breakfast was delicious. I cant fault a single thing.
S. C.
Overall the hotel is very good - modern, clean and spacious. We got a free upgrade to an Exec room; very nice with a huge bed. Good location just a couple of minutes from the Bull Ring but much of what is around the hotel is under development so not much of a view.
The one gripe I would highlight is the fact that the bar shuts at 2330 even for residents. Beyond this you have to get the night porter to serve you a drink. We were travelling in a group with a young child so spent quite a bit if time in the bar. Bar staff seemed quite keen to close up and get away in general.
F. G.
I was really disappointed by the manager of this hotel as they were not child friendly last year and told us they had no rooms available when there were multiple online.
Having spoken with the manager and the CEO directly I was still left extremely disappointed.
However, we stayed for two nights over Christmas and the staff were wonderful as always. My two well behaved children were treated with smiles and a wonderful service which restored my faith in the hotel.
We have stayed here many times and only ever had the one problem, but the fact that it could not be resolved was ridiculous, however the in staff themselves make it wonderful
G. M.
Just been on our first weekend away since February. We had booked into the Clayton Hotel in Birmingham for Friday and Saturday night. Obviously we were a little bit apprehensive, but I must say how well we were looked after at the hotel. From check in, right through to check out, the staff could not have done done any more to make us feel safe. The meals were excellent, and the room was cleaned, disinfected and sealed prior to our arrival. Hand sanitizer was available in all public areas, and also in the lifts. Well done to you all, and we shall be paying another visit very soon.

The hotel was clean, modern and spacious. The staff were very helpful and the rooms were well planned and comfortable. The parking was a little distant but good value. The area is undergoing extensive re-building and will be lovely once the construction work is complete. I would have no issue about staying at this hotel in the future.

We drove ourselves to the hotel, which we found with no problems. The hotel looks amazing both inside and out. Reception staff were welcoming and efficient. I was not asked for a bank card, which caused a minor irritation later in the restaraunt. Lovely clean and modern room which was very comfortable and quiet. The breakfast was varied and substantial and the evening meal beautifully served.

Stayed a couple of nights was a very pleasant one. The hotel is very conveniently situated near the railway stations and can be easily walked to in 5/15 minutes depending on your luggage situation. The staff were helpful and friendly, and rooms were clean, spacious and had everything required. A very comfortable stay and the relaxing areas downstairs were full of great designs and furniture.

A lovely overnight stay whilst we visited the Christmas Market with friends. Reception staff superb, very cheerful and informative. Room lovely but lacked little extras such as body lotion, shower cap. Hairdryer chassis was warped and melted and can't have been checked for a while. Bar staff very good, though one guy was new and hadn't been instructed how to present a pink gin. I had to pour in the strawberries from my previous glass into the garnishless new one. Cups, glasses etc., not cleared away from outside tables all day! Our breakfast cups were still sat on the table along with other people's dirty cups/glasses at the end of the day. This happened both days! These are just small gripes of what was a lovely stay and wouldn't put us off booking again, but a shame it meant I couldn't give a score of 5/5. Perfect location for the Bull Ring and a nice clientele.
G.
From start to end, our trip was fab. Service, evening meal was amazing, room and even the cocktail was all fab! Breakfast was perfect. Hotel is literally a 5 min walk to the Bullring. So perfect spot to get around the city. Most definitely would recommend Clayton Hotel.

Lovely hotel, very comfy beds but pillows very hard, they should keep softer pillows in the room. The food was excellent the staff very friendly. The only thing that lets this great hotel down was the parking, we should have been advised beforehand of the car park that you have discount with. I parked in the NCP that cost us £25.00 ( not good ).
A. F.
Arrived and the hotel and met the reception staff who were very friendly and helpful. The room was nicely decorated, warm and fresh. I stay for three nights and every night I slept well with no issues. The restaurant was similar with welcoming and friendly staff. The food I had was very good. Breakfast was busy. Very Happy to recommend this hotel. Thanks
A. L.
My family and I stayed at The Clayton for the weekend. The hotel was spotless, the staff are very friendly, the food was excellent too. The room was just the right size. Will definitely recommend to friends and return again. One member of staff that stood out was Ruth in the restaurant. She was so friendly, helpful and such a pleasant young lady... well.done Ruth.
D. W.
The hotel was nicely decorated and I was greeted warmly at reception. The food could definitely be improved, the bar was not cleared of glasses on the tables all the time I was there (3 hours) and the tables were wet. The young man serving at the bar was terrible, I had to wait 5 minutes to order my drink whilst he chatted to a couple and was on his phone.
My room was adequate but the carpet was dirty and not hoovered. There was a sweet wrapper and lollipop stick under the desk from the previous guests.
A hairdryer would be beneficial.

This is a great hotel for those who are looking for a Romantic stay, shopping and business trips as is in the middle of Birmingham city. Walking distance of both railway stations in Birmingham (Moor street and New street).
The King size bed was perfect! So comfortable , we had a great nice sleep. The bathroom has a walking shower which is very spacious,it also had a sound system on it . Overall our room had all the essentials (tea and coffee tray), iron and a safe .
The customer service was 5* , loved the breakfast ! we will definitely come back soon.

We stayed at your hotel for a wedding for two nights Friday 06/09 and Sat 07/09. We found the room was good the hotel was very clean as was our room the service from the staff was very good in the restaurant good menu for evening meal also good breakfast and a nice atmosphere .
I would like to give one of your staff a special mention that person was MELANIA on reception she was very helpful in sorting out things for us such as car parking and prices plus much more.
When she was on the desk or saw my wife and me always a smile and how are you doing very pleasant and welcoming smile and because of this we have recommended you hotel to lots of people and we will be staying with you again, Many thank Ron Robinson.

Great conference space - love the refreshment set up. Amazing selection of hot and cold drinks and love the sweet treats which seem to be continually topped up. Conference rooms are bright and spacious with a good AV set-up. Had a buffet lunch in the main restaurant which was extremely good.

My wife and I stayed for the one night as part of a deal that included dinner bed and breakfast and a glass of prosseco each. From the moment we arrived we were impressed with the service we received from the receptionists and waitresses and bar staff to housekeeping who promptly came when we had a minor issue with the wc. The rooms were really modern and the meals we had were excellent. We wouldn't hesitate in recommending this hotel, it was the first time we had stayed at a Clayton hotel but it won't be the last.
J. P.
Great hotel, the staff were all very friendly and the rooms were very high quality for the price we paid. There was plenty of breakfast choices and all was well cooked and well presented. The overall decoration and layout of the hotel and bedroom were, we felt excellent. Everything was very high tech and once we figured out how to turn the lights off we had a good, comfortable nights sleep. Check in and out was seamless.
The only downside, there isn't any parking on-site but that said its very near to Moor Street station which is a bonus.
Also the drinks in the bar were on the expensive side but you expect that at any hotel.
I'd definitely stay there again.
A. A. A.
The hotel is so clean, comfortable and so quiet. You can control the light and the air conditioner using touch panel which is very modern and nice. The staff, moreover, is so friendly and helpful. What makes it special, is that it is located in the city centre close for everything.
B. P.
Fantastic in most areas, a short walk from the station and Bullring shopping.
Decor was extremely pleasant with great facilities, unfortunately the temperature control did not reflect the actual temperature of the room and the mattress was knobbly and needs turning regularly, my nights sleep was seriously interrupted.
The staff were polite and extremely helpful.
The food at dinner was well portioned, I felt spoilt and breakfast was a buffet style of continental and full English with quantities of your choosing.
I would definitely stay again and have already recommended it to friends.
A. O.
Excellent hotel good food accomodation very good clean and very lovely staff great location for city centre
K. K.
Good location, perfect rooms and good food. The only downside is no onsite parking and nearby parking cost bit of money but I guess that's the common issue with all hotels in the city center
K. S.
What an amazing hotel, the only paet that is a slight let down is the view but in all honesty this doesn't take anything away from the hotel. There are currently building works going on in the yard next door but no work was being undertaken during my stay.
The food was amazing, i had the calamari to start, pork belly main and baked lemon cheesecake to finish.. food was exceptional.
We also had breakfast included in our package, the breakfast was brilliant. Loads of variety and something to suit every taste, cereal, pastries or a full english.
S. J.
We received a very polite welcome, advice re parking, answers to all our questions about the local area, what to do/where to go etc Great service throughout our stay, comfy room - all the staff were polite and helpful - we felt very comfortable. We came for a specific event (Max & Harvey at the O2 Academy - my 11 year old daughter's Christmas present) but will definitely return to Birmingham, and will definitely stay at the Clayton Hotel. It's central, within a short walk of everything we wanted to do.

Four year ago - we had our wedding reception at what was La Tour. Because of Covid - we had to remain in Birmingham to celebrate this event. The staff was so flexible and went out their way to make our two night stay was excellent. Thank you!
r. c.
Lovely hotel staff very friendly and pleasant could not fault would definitely stop again.
P. B.
Stayed 2 nights, room & bathroom very clean , bed very comfortable. Lacked hanging & storage space and safe at floor level so unable to get down to be able to use it, why not have it at eye level ?
Reception very polite & helpful however, we decided to have the breakfast that was on offer and paid on booking. The receptionist never gave us the vouchers and on arrival at breakfast we were met by the male manager? on duty who was quite abrupt and expected me to go and sort it out with reception. I informed him that it was the Hotels problem and he needed to sort it out. Although early on the Saturday morning the breakfast and very few guests there it was quite chaotic!
C. M.
The rooms were high quality, modern and look recently refurbished. Its not five star but well furnished business style hotel. Good security for lift access, corridors etc. Wine selection in bar was not to my taste, found it all to be like Ribena poured neat into a glass. My conclusion was that people in Birmingham either have an incredibly sweet tooth or the hotel could up its game with a better wine selection. Staff were pleasant. Service is not high end but adequate, although on a good note, my request for scissors was promptly met. Its pricey at £189 a room but if you are there on business acceptable. Did seem to have a fair amount of wedding groups in lobby arriving. Am from out of town so I don't know how the Clayton is perceived locally but I assume well because people had bought dress up clothes and it seemed to be a treat to be at the hotel. The dining area looks a bit bleak/big and not busy, although I didn't eat there so cannot comment on the food. .
A. L.
The welcome the food okay so the car park maybe a bit of a walk from the hotel but really 11 for parking for a full day excellent value and you can go shopping. The welcome is very nice and the rooms of good size. It's not too noisy which for a city center hotel is quite good. The food is really nice. If you are stopping there have at least one meal. The Wi-Fi as well as places to just relax are good and the views from the windows across the city center nice. Since the name change the hotel does appear to be slightly brighter. Easy walking distance from the train station.
N.
Stayed over night here on Sunday 16th Feb with my husband. We had a lovely stay. All the staff were brilliant, but Charlotte was amazing, couldn't do enough for us, or anyone else. Shes a super star. Thank you so much xx
K. B.
Great place. Central to shopping area and transport. The staff were helpful and friendly in all areas of the hotel. We had a package that included bed breakfast and dinner. The dinner was set but offered a good choice or a set amount could be used against the grill menu. The room were clean and bed comfortable. Breakfast was great plentiful and hot. There are gym facilities but didn't use them
S. N.
The service was amazing. Angelika was very attentive but at the same time would leave you to your devices. We appreciate the care she gave, ensuring that we were happy with our food and drinks.
We had a lovely afternoon and we will be returning again soon.
A. M.
Fantastic first stay on a wowcher deal but noticed hotel offering deals direct via their own website. Staff are friendly, approachable and polite and always with a smile. Rooms spacious, modern and clean. Food is excellent and beautifully presented. We will definitely be back, and often.
L. H.
Very smart hotel. Good staff. Tidy room, we had an executive double, came with a queen size bed. Walk in shower big enough for 2.
Breakfast was ok. No granola or mushrooms even though they were listed on menu.
Nice bar area for the evening but not cheap, £7.40 for a G&T
S. M.
Absolutely fantastic hotel...
From walking in to leaving, this sumptuous hotel does what its says on the tin!!.
The staff are all extremely well mannered and perfectly trained on customer service. My mother was ill upon arrival and Amy who checked us in was so polite and considerate, she booked both breakfast and lunch so we didnt have to worry about doing later. Everytime I came down some one asked if my Mum was ok, which was lovely.
Catriona, the hotel manager was up with larks helping to serve breakfast to the guests personally. Now I've stayed at a lot of 4/5 star hotels and some management wouldnt dream of doing it. Which again I thought was great, her team is clearly well lead. Other staff could be seen doing their jobs, having a chuckle with one another about one thing or the other which was nice to see, as they clearly enjoy their jobs.
Final note, social distancing was on point hand sanitizer everywhere. Rooms immaculate and tastefully decorated, beds a dream no noise, felt very safe and in good hands. Will definitely be returning.
Thanks Catriona and all the staff
J. B.
Third time visit for me - first time for hubby - if he could he would give you 10 stars !!
Staff are always going above and beyond to assist - happy, chatty and helpful. We had a lovely room on the 7th floor which was clean and fresh and perfect for us. Breakfast was absolutely lovely - fresh and delicious.

I am not one to really write reviews, but this hotel done the ting! (done the ting basically means 'represented them self extremely well' for those who do not understand haha)
I booked this hotel through wowcher as a suprise for my girlfriend. I could never afford something like this right now of retail haha. When I booked, they were very helpful, very clear and I did not feel that even though I am booking through another website, they do not want to help me as much. Complete opposite.
I had asked them to arrange the room with some baloons and petals on the bed with some chocolates if possible. This was last minute the NIGHT BEFORE and they were very understanding and made it clear they can try their best providing a provide the funds. I provided them and paid them a little extra, nothing extortionate (£30 they charged) which they then sent one of the room cleaners who got their own red petals, brought some happy anniversary balloons and brought some lindt chocolate then aranged it on the bed in a heart shape and then made a medium sized dessert plate with 'I LOVE YOU' written on it and a small choc dessert next to it, the room also had small balloons on the floor too. It was very sweet and my girlfriend loved it.
The whole hotel is spectacular. Very clean, the staff are very professional and kind. Always ready to help. If the staff are busy, they always acknowledge you and, with a smile, ask that you wait patiently and they will be with you soon.
I am not a well off person at all, and I noticed there were different types of people at the hotel. Not once was I made to feel any less equal than anyone else. I have been to very high standard hotels before due to the work I do, and I have sometimes been made to feel lesser than others just by what I may look like on the outside or wear. This was not the case with this hotel.
The food was really lovely also. Breakfast was lovely. Food was fresh, waiters were so professional and polite. I am trying to find faults but I struggle. We did not get to have our dinner the night before so the hotel allowed us to have lunch the next day instead. I guess the only thing was there was a nice juice that we liked at breakfast that we also wanted to have for lunch, but the hotel only provided it for breakfast which was a shame.....but thats me nickpicking lol.
I took my girlfriend to this hotel as a thank you and also nice treat after she had a strongwoman competition in Birmingham. She had never had something like this before, and clayton hotel made it very special. We cannot thank them enough. I would recommend them 110%

Visited the hotel as part of a business trip. The room we had booked out for the day was clean and comfortable with good projectors for our presentation. The only area I would fault is we had multiple issues with the microphones cutting out or loosing power repeatedly during presentations which understandably annoyed or distressed our presenters. The food and drink supplied was of a high quality and the staff were friendly and helpful

I arrived early for a meeting but the staff were very pleasant and accomandating

I loved your hotel but the only things I found were that the room temperature did not reflect the setting. It was set to 16c and yet I was sweating at night. Also the hummus which I got to service had no taste of our flavor. The rest of the food was quite delicious.

Stayed for one night while shopping in Birmingham. Great clean hotel, very nice room spacious room. Very welcoming reception when walk in.
Restaurant was good, food tasted great and a nice breakfast.
Would recommend and stay again as great location to the bullring shopping mall
S. H.
The hotel is ideally located for visitors to the Aston University Conferences and shopping at the Bull Ring. Modern and chic. If you can get over Marco Pierre White's obsession with himself, the decor is just the right mix of opulence and art. The rooms are well laid out. Impeccably decorated and clean. I love the fact that real tea mugs and silverware is set out next to the kettle. The walk in shower, with a rain fall shower head is simply divine. I brought my own toiletries but The White Company toiletries are provided. Breakfast was a buffet with options for a full English or Continental breakfast. Very good. Overall, I think this hotel is amazing. I'd definitely visit again.
D. P.
Had afternoon with my wife. Had amazing experience. The food was delicious and the server was very helpful and polite. 10/10 for service.

Great overnight stay. Good central position. Lovely room, spotless! Comfortable bed and very comfy pillows. We used the Selfridges Car Park - £11 - worked well. Would recommend The Clayton Hotel.

we had a great time. Hotel is lovely. Very close to bull ring so in walking distance. Rooms very clean and perfect size. Staff really friendly and I will definitely visit again. I would highly recommend it.

This hotel is chic and romantic. The rooms and public areas are very clean and modern. The rooms are spacious. The hotel food is pretty tasty and the cocktails are lovely. The bar has live music which, with the mood lighting provide a really relaxed atmosphere. The breakfast is varied and well stocked. The staff are very friendly and the service is super. There is a gym and conference centres for business. About 5/7 min walk from the bullring and 10 mins from Birmingham New street station. Very good price for location, facilities and and overall experience.
K. W.
Overall good, just should be more options for tv channel or screen mirroring.
S. F.
The entrance to the hotel is great (once you're inside!!) and the room couldn't have been more comfortable. I loved the console with all the light settings on it, and was especially impressed that a couple of the plug sockets included USB charging sockets. The restaurant food was delicious and well presented, all staff couldn't have been any more friendly and accommodating. Only breakfast felt slightly disappointing. A couple of the cloches had run out, there were no scrambled eggs, the hash browns felt a little tired and the tomatoes weren't cooked enough IMO. It wasn't horrible, just not up to the standard of everything else.
D. A.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Hotel is in immaculate condition. I got upgraded to an Exec room - the room was perfect! And clean! The only negative aspect was that there didn't appear to be any Wifi present or available as part of the room price.
Overall, after this experience, I'd gladly pay the going rate for the exec room on my next stay.

Me and my husband had an overnight stay 19/20th August. Reception staff friendly, all areas of hotel were spotlessly clean. Hotel is excellently positioned for the Bullring. A big shout out though goes to Ruth, the lovely lady who served our table during our evening meal in the restaurant. Very attentive, engaged in chat with us and her smile....it lit up the room. She was pure joy to be around. So thankyou Ruth for making our stay memorable.
Very impressed with the Clayton Hotel and its staff and will recommend to family and friends and if we decide to stay in Birmingham again we will happily return to the Clayton.

Lovely hotel with very help staff and great food.

Excellent hotel very neat tidy couldn't find a fault. staff absolutely lovely. only minor gripe was the bar prices but these are getting adjusted so no great issue. |I have stopped in many hotels on business some the same if not more expensive than this one and not one has been to this high standard especially with regards to maintenance. the breakfast is excellent way more choice and variety than any where I have stayed before.
the evening meals are reasonable priced for a hotel of this category and beautifully cooked. can I find a fault unusually for me I am struggling
C. H.
The hotel is a short walk from New St station and is handily placed for sightseeing. My room was very comfortable and there was a a very good breakfast. What was great was the service after my trip. I left my charger in my room and they posted it on to me.
S. O.
Beautiful clean room, great value for money rate. Staff were actually amazing. Special mention to restaurant team and the super smiley, very energetic and helpful young man at breakfast “well done “.
Only thing bad in my stay stay, happened at the reception, we just asked for an information and the receptionist kamila shout to me and she was so rude she definitely don’t know how to speak with a guest. I understand she was busy, was a long queue there, but she need change the way how to approach the people.

Hi
I have stayed two nights at Clayton during Easter holiday. The hotel’s location is very convenient and the rooms are clean. However, when you need something you can not reach the reception since they are nit picking up the phone and/or call back. Also I have ordered sleepers (2,5 Euro per ) for the second night and they never send them to my room, while checking out they refund but the problem is they did not serve. The breakfast was avg and if you need anything there were no one around in the restaurant.
B. H.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. The hotel is VERY close to New Street station. The staff were friendly and genuinely interested in how our stay was. If i had one tiny issue it was that the in-shower speaker system (to play your music from your phone in the main room) didn't work. Staff had a resolution though, with a mobile bluetooth speaker instead! Can't fault my stay at all, especially not for the price!
T. B.
Check in was excellent and staff very helpful -were able to check in early which was appreciated.
Didn't like the techy light switch arrangements in room (was woken by hubby trying to find bathroom switch but managed to turn on every light in room!)
Shower was extremely low pressure and worst of all was when I turned the shower on I was exposed to a jet of ice cold water from the handheld shower facing right at my naked midrift - aahhh!
Breakfast and service was excellent but coffee weak as water. Waitress kindly offered to make us a fresh brew each which was lovely thank you.
Little bit out of the way location wise.
D.
Very comfortable bed, blackout curtains, spacious shower which had a cool feature of sound going in with a volume control, central location. The only minor thing for me to have a little moan at is the lack of TV channels. DVD/USB feature would have been useful considering lack of channels. TV itself was nice though and doesn't deter me from staying again. Which I will definitely do. Great stay
D. K. A.
Easy access, nice environment and neat rooms
J. B.
Excellent level of service and cleanliness, very impressed with all aspects of my experience!
Helpful but not pushy staff, quiet rooms, lovely bed, great breakfast, good curtains and linens and a fresh 'new' feel to the room...
(I don't normally leave reviews but this stay definitely merits one :-) )
P. B.
I chose the Clayton hotel for a University 'housemate' reunion, as it was centrally placed, close to public transport and looked a nice hotel. We took up the 'High Society' deal, which gave us afternoon tea and one nights accommodation, we added breakfast on, but it was still an amazing deal; almost too good to be true. We were all welcomed warmly, left our bags as too early for check in, and hit the Christmas market!!!
Afternoon tea was lovely, but the service was very slow and took 30 mins before we got our order taken, so that was disappointing, made up for by scrumptious sandwiches and mouth watering scones and cakes.
The room was clean and very comfortable, we had interconnecting rooms, which was great, made us feel as if in one big room!
Breakfast is highly recommended, fresh and tasty, lots of choice and the service was excellent, the afternoon tea staff could learn a few things from the breakfast team!
Overall, we had a great stay and would go back for the same deal again...but book afternoon tea half an hour before we fancy eating or drinking!!!!
B. H.
I would like to thank Catriona especially for guiding my colleague Phil to meet me for breakfast. She was extraordinarily attentive and helpful. I would also like to mention Sherwin, nothing was too much trouble and everything was done with a smile, this was greatly appreciated in these difficult times. It was a pleasure.
C. S.
Lovely inside, bar areas smart, staff very friendly.
room was nice but it was a disabled room and i couldnt fit in the shower unless i sat on the flip down seat!
I didnt bother to change, i managed, and the rest of the room was perfect.
Would stay again but id rather not have a disabled room if someone else needs it!
A. S.
Lovely hotel. Well appointed room with a huuuuge comfy bed and a single one too. Looks like they are doing a refurb so plastic covers over the carpet in the corridor. It did not spoil our stay and with it being over the weekend but I imagine there'd be workmen around during the week. Just a couple of negatives. My daughter wasn't impressed with the opaque glass in bathroom door and I must admit it was quite see through especially as there was a long mirror was positioned right opposite that reflected the bathroom goings on!! Also the carpet in the bedroom was a bit grubby looking and the large walk in shower wasn't sparkling clean (there was a pink soap scum residue around the lower tiles which was a bit off putting). The breakfast was lovely and well thought out. Daughter is vegetarian and we find that with a buffet style breakfast, people cross contaminate the serving spoons for the veggie items on their plates that are loaded with bacon and sausage however here, the vegetarian items were first in the order of serving thereby preventing that from happening. Whether that was intentional I don't know, but she was happy it was like that! Also had afternoon tea which was lovely. I'd most definitely stay in this hotel again. Staff were very friendly and efficient and as we arrived early, it was no problem to leave our bags whilstwe wwent into the city. This hotel is very handy for the shops, Moor Street and New Street Stations, the Bullring shopping centre and city centre shops and of course the new, enormous Primark.
D.
Beautifully aesthetic hotel, all staff members were polite and welcoming 😊 stayed for 2 nights from 9-8-19
Room was lovely and the facilities were execellent. We especially liked the in-room sound system so you could listen to the radio whilst showering 👍🏻
The cleanliness and maintenance of the room and hotel gernerally made it feel new and well looked after. After going out in Birmingham City, the overnight security made the hotel feel even safer with the doorman checking room keys etc.
Our highlight of our stay was being served by Ruth in the Restaurant. She was bubbly and patient with us as we couldn't decide what to eat through the amazing selection in the menu. Ruth's wonderful personality really made us feel at home in Birmingham City and I'm sure we'll be back soon.
Also the food was delicious, I chose the sauteed mushroom on bread starter, and the flavours were phenomenal.
My sister forgot her toothbrush and the reception was well stocked with travel toothbrushes and toothpaste
The room photos online looked impressive, and we were really chuffed to hear we'd been given a complimentary upgrade to one of the executive rooms
The reception staff were incredibly welcoming from the moment of check-in. Lovely team across the hotel including the restaurant staff too. It was great to be able to keep the luggage in the hold room even after check-out too.
Amazing, thankyou Clayton's Team Birmingham 😊
R. T.
Stayed in a family room. So nice to have a proper 2nd bed in the room. Very comfortable room, great bathroom and amenities. Kids loved it. Fantastic value for money, booked inclusive of breakfast which had plenty of choice and was good quality. Ate evening meal in The Grill restaurant which was also tasty. Friendly staff throughout. Would def book again if returning to Birmingham

Afternoon tea in January.
Food was exceptional and staff were very attentive and friendly. Hotel is clean with modern furnishings. Look forward to returning. Thank you to the staff who made us feel very welcome.
G. J.
Our first time at this hotel and thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Everything was spotlessly clean and all members of staff very kind and courteous, would not hesitate
to stay here again. The only downside was only 3 hangars for clothes in closet.
R. A.
Great 1 nights stay! Wish we stayed longer!
We booked well in advance and got a great price, the room was very modern, clean and comfortable, staff really friendly, and amazing self service breakfast in the morning sorted out a sore head!
Will be back!
A. C.
Had a lovely time with my girlfriends for my friends birthday present. Such a comfortable bed. Lovely staff and great food. Would love to come again but can't find the offer for the date I need before an exam in January.
A. Z.
Stayed 4 nights for business. Nice staff, nice rooms, good breakfast.
Parking is in a public parking about 300 meters from the hotel.
Guests need to walk to and from the hotel every day twice (morning, evening) with business luggage.
As rain is quite common in the UK people get soaked.
Parking costs 11 Pounds / night.
For the future they should look for a better solution.
On a next trip to Birmingham I will also check other hotels in the area that offer parking at the hotel.
J. M.
Brand newish hotel. Very comfortable. Good bar area. Excellent value with a groupon deal. One of the best quality hotel breakfasts I've had. Would stay again. Only drawback was all the building work still going on in the area.
P. P.
Me and my husband loves travelling for leisure and special occassions. Going to different places is our best quality time and finding the right accomodation is always our #1 priority. Location, price, amenities, package inclusion, cleanliness, and customer service are the things I'm always looking for when choosing for a hotel and CLAYTON HOTEL BIRMINGHAM is the first hotel where we stayed that exceeded our expectations. From the moment we entered the building until our check out time, we can't complain with anything. We spent 2 nights in the hotel for our 4th year wedding anniversary and we got the best deal ever. Breakfast is amazing and the 3 course dinner is excellent. All included with our package for very affordable price. The best thing is their customer service. They always accomodate for whatever request you have especially with the food. We want to thank the staff in the restaurant esp. "Charlotte" who always assisted us every dinner during our stay and even done an extra mile to make our anniversary more special by surprising us additional dessert with "Happy Anniversary" greeting on it. It's a perfect hotel to stay where you don't even wanna go back home anymore. Absolutely recommending to family and friends.

A beautiful and modern hotel. The decor was impressive and the rooms very comfortable. The staff were all very helpful and really nice. We had a set menu for our evening meal which we really enjoyed and as we had a wowcher deal, we were very impressed indeed with how much we had paid. We came to Birmingham to see a show, and the reception arrange a taxi for us that arrived within minutes and it only cost a few pounds get us to the theatre. I loved this hotel and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again - with or without the 'wowcher'!!

Stopped here on Friday 16th August.
Service was great & room was clean. The air conditioning didn't work however (the panel on the wall)... Didn't have a good night's sleep. Had to call up reception at 3am to fix remotely. It worked for an hour then turned off again.
Good service but terrible night's sleep!

When we arrived we were welcomed and given us all the information we needed about the hotel.
We went to our room and unpacked, then we went down to the bar to organise some food and a drink.
The lady on the bar was very helpful, she bought our drinks over and said when our food was ready she would find us a place in the restaurant as it was rather busy. There was a little mishap with our order for the food but she came to apologize and said it wouldn't be long, it was bought out by waitress and the chef who apologized to us in person which was very good of him. We did enjoy our lunch though in a lovely atmosphere. Bar service in the evening was a little slow. We did really enjoy our stay and would certainly come back. It was my third visit, but this time I bought a friend of mine who had never been and she really enjoyed it.

Pleasant welcome and efficient check-in mid-afternoon. Settled in our spacious room, had a quick drink and then to the bar for our prosecco followed by an early dinner. Walked up to Symphony Hall for the evening's entertainment.
An undisturbed sound night's sleep overnight then an excellent breakfast and faultless check-out. What more could one want.?
We warmly recommend the Clayton.

We had Afternoon Tea here (3 adults and 1 child). This place is so beautiful and so nice. Staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. They had super good recommendations. The food is extraordinarily delicious and the tea had the perfect temperature and taste. If you want to try out a real British Afternoon Tea, you will be extremely pleased at this place!

Such a beautiful and classy hotel. From the moment you walk through the revolving doors to the time you're guided to your table for breakfast, the hotel just oozes class. The rooms are lovely and very well decorated. Not overly huge, but definitely fit for purpose. Had a lovely view over Birmingham at night, altho not that great on a Sunday morning 😉😊.

What an amazing place, checked out this morning and the lady on the desk and manager were fabulous. Give them a rise!! I had a complaint through no fault of the hotel just some guests, and they dealt with it brilliantly. Also the guy that was on about 5am this morning was fantastic, making me curry, seeing to the rowdy customers, letting people in the building, also time to mop the floors and lift and still being super polite to everyone, what a legend!! Give him a rise aswell x all in all, great hotel, will be returning, thankyou x

I have stayed at this hotel many times and have always been very impressed, friendly staff, great food and comfortable rooms. The crowning glory is the fact it is only a few minutes walk from the train station. Looking forward to my next visit already!

Had afternoon tea and it was lovely. Lots to eat and we could have had more sandwiches and pots of tea. The staff were very attentive and friendly. The waitress must have heard us say we were celebrating my birthday and the management sent us complimentary glasses of prosecco and a plate with happy birthday written in chocolate with little cakes and raspberries on. A lovely thing to do. Thank you everyone at The Clayton.

Great hotel very friendly staff
M. P.
Great hotel with great amenities. Clean spacious with a welcoming ambiance. Was let down by poor air-condition system which i was obviously told is regulated by the room temperature. I was roasting :)
Other than that, I recommend this hotel because of its modern facilities

Great place to stay Stafford lovely the meals were

Stopped at the hotel in the last few days. First time
in a Clayton Hotel and couldn’t fault the stay. The food in the restaurant was lovely, freshly made and tasted delicious. Service was good and the staff did ensure our food was okay. Great location and I would definelty stop here again. Only downside the usb socket was broken apart from that no other issues.
S. O.
Staff were very friendly and went out of their way to make the stay enjoyable, but this did not make up for the rigid 3 PM check in policy. I was travelling from overseas and was told I would have to pay £20 to access my room any earlier, which I refused. Come 3 PM there were queues almost out the door of people wanting to check in and not enough staff to manage this. I have never encountered such a rigid counterproductive policy. Surely if the rooms are ready, why not check people in? Unless it is all about getting extra £20 fees? This is a “welcome” to the hotel that all the positives that followed were hard to overcome
M. B.
Stayed here for a Christmas party. Hotel looks wonderful. Very modern and clean feeling. Staff excellent.
The rooms are very spacious, comfortable and quiet. With a great bathroom.
Breakfast was typical buffet style but a great selection and tasty. Would stay again.
L. S.
Everything was great about this hotel. Very friendly staff. Rooms spacious and spotlessly clean. Good breakfast. Location less than 10 minutes from New street station and the Bullring shopping centre.

Fantastic going again next week xx
Took my mom to the Clayton last week as a treat for her birthday, we had a fabulous time, the staff there are fantastic nothing is too much trouble. At dinner we were looked after by Paulette, she was really helpful and very attentive. We really had a lovely stay and we will be back to try your Afternoon tea. Thanks for making her feel special xx

If you need balloons or decor for the venue please contact Ever so special. We deliver regular here

Decent location not too far from the main shopping area and the train stations. Modern decor and friendly staff. Room was clean and spacious. It was fairly quiet so I didn't require my earplugs, for any fussy sleepers out there. Parking options are limited but they do provide a good discount on the nearby Selfriges car park (£7.00). Would stay there again.
P. A.
My girlfriend and I stayed for one night as a change of scene and a chance to have a wander around Birmingham. Blown away by how nice everything looks inside and the friendly/professional staff. The executive room we'd booked was clean, quiet, comfortable and well presented, so no complaints there either! The only reasons for 4 stars instead of 5 was the underwhelming breakfast (surprising given how fancy the restaurant was) and the awkward/poorly marked parking. I'd stay there again and would recommend it to people.
A. N. R. P.
Good place looked after us recommended
D. L.
Hotel was nice, clean, vibrant and welcoming with friendly staff. Had preordered prosecco for the room but it wasn’t there upon arrival. Room service is a rip off, the ‘midnight menu’ only has 5 items, we got the Mac n cheese each. It was £12 each + £5 tray service for what essentially was a bowl of cheesy pasta that was surely microwaved. This was disappointing given the apparent stature of the hotel.
K. E.
Lovely decor , goodnight sleep and bedroom speakers. Definitely worth the spend
G. M. G.
Nice place ideal location very close to Moor St Station.
A. N.
Amazing Hotel, food was great! Other than our order was wrong for the starter and there was a delay in the restaurant which we was already told about! But honestly awesome hotel would defo recommend!
A. U.
No parking on site. You have to park in the centre carpark that closes around 9, so after 9 you can not get your car out to drive anywhere! You also have to carry your luggage up a hill to the hotel. Hotel itself is lovely. Staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and good sizes. Let down by lack of parking
L. S.
Stayed for my husbands 40th birthday Friday 8th June .. I popped into the hotel on the morning with a balloon and birthday banner for the room which the staff kindly sorted for me not a bother and when we checked in later that day, they also had wrote him a little birthday card which was a nice touch.
We had a great meal in the restaurant. The staff on were lovely, professional and friendly. My husband got some chocolate covered strawberries with happy birthday written on the plate after our meal which was so kind.
Room was clean, airy and modern, had a very big shower and we had a great sleep the room was quiet, no noise disturbance from the traffic or any other other guests. 7th floor views were good.
Breakfast had a large choice, good quality and again all the staff were friendly, it was the same lady on from the evening before that seated us she was asking if we enjoyed my husbands celebrations which was nice she remembered, she was a friendly face to greet us in the morning for breakfast!
Only slight downfall the parking is very expensive compared to other hotels we have stayed in.. £15 is very steep for one nights stay on a bit of land that has a gravel /stoney car park that is hard to walk on in heels!
R. H.
Went for afternoon tea as a surprise for my mum. Invited my aunties and cousin. Was absolutely amazing. The service was next level, she kept asking if we needed anything and made sure we were ok. We must have been there for about 4 hours, the last 2 hours we were chatting since we finished eating etc. Not once did they ask if we were finished or rushed us to leave. Was amazing. The atmosphere was so great, nice sofa, comfy seating and live chilling music. Best afternoon tea ever. The food selection provided was amazing, with variety of teas too. Would definitely go again.
T. M.
The entire hotel has a cosy yet spacious feel about it being decorated in soothing mellow colours and lighting having comfortable furniture and appealing furnishings and accessories. Service of the staff was excellent. Will return time and time again if stopping in Birmingham and would love to try the new restaurant.
S. A.
I absolutely loved this hotel. The facilities were fantastic and the staff were incredibly helpful. The only thing that let my room down was the absence of a fridge in my room. I had sandwiches with me as I am attending a conference today. I otherwise cannot fault them.
M. L.
Hotel was smart, well decorated, comfortable, food was good and service was fine apart from a 25 minute wait for a coffee/tea from the bar. Found silent movies in lifts irritating.
Main issue is with parking. Due to traffic took 10 minutes to get to Selfridges car park. Also not a pleasant walk back with suitcases. Was also not told at reception that the £7/day rate was dependant upon parking ticket being verified at hotel so had to sort this out when I went to pick my car up.
G. W.
My visit involved use of the hotels conference facilities. The facilities themselves were good, up to date and functioned well. The conference room and terrace were great for our needs and the tea, coffee and snack facilities were quite good and well stocked. The included buffet lunch was okay as were the staff.

Just returned from a 1 night stay here on a dinner bed and breakfast package.
Hotel is lovely, comfy bed great food and friendly service throughout!
Special mention to the lady that checked us in and out of our room Jessica she was very friendly and welcoming and went above and beyond to make sure our birthday stay was memorable. We cannot wait to return,Thank you all at Clayton
A. C.
Very smart, modern hotel. Stayed at the 7th floor room had great views of the city. The bathroom was spacious with a walk in shower and the bed was big and one of the most comfortable I have slept. Great bar with live music on the 1st floor.
T. M.
We found this hotel to be in a fantastic location and very clean. Room was clean and in good order. The lady on reception was extremely helpful and we were quickly on our way to our room once we parked the car in their overnight parking …
L. C.
Highly recommend this hotel! I’ve been there with my work team, we usually doing meetings there and trust me people you have everything you need in there! Friendly staff and very helpful. Food? OMG very tasty!! I’ll see you again soon!
K. D.
Very clean staff were amazing and very helpful thank you for making my stay a happy and comfortable stay
D. E.
Loved it there... The room is very spacious and very clean and tidy, the bathroom is lovely very modern with large shower no bath. . Would definitely recommend this hotel as it's located near the centre with the Bullring a few minutes walk away from the hotel with plenty of parking. .. breakfast is an option £14-50 pp... Hotel security parking £15 for day plus overnight parking. ..

Beautiful modern hotel with great service.
We had one of the suite,s which was fantastic.
Both the bed and seating areas were roomy and had their own tv,s.
Small bottle of wine, soft drinks, water & chocolates were complimentary ! - nice touch.
Decor very modern with clean lines.
Bathroom a good size, a tv in the wall for chilling in the bath / watching tv - great !!
Programme selection limited but its not really what your there for !!
Price was very good and breakfast was included too, well worth looking at if your thinking about it.
Good central location and only 5 mins walk to the Bullring.
Slight niggles - Non smoking rooms but we could detect a stale smoke smell, which indicated it had been smoked in - more vigilance please Clayton !!
Loose electrical sockets either side of the bed could have been dangerous. Reported this and i believe Maintenance were on the case asap.
Robes & slippers were missing !! - Come on housekeeping !!
Overall still a wonderful stay and we would return, we still recommend this hotel highly.

BEING BASED FOR A MONTH IN BIRMINGHAM I NEED A COMFORTABLE AND FRIENDLY PLACE TO REST AND WORK. THE CLAYTON AND ITS STAFF ENSURED I ACHEIVED THIS. SUPERB CUSTOMER CARE WHERE NOTHING WAS TOO MUCH TROUBLE. VERY CARING AND ATTENTIVE STAFF. CLEAN AND SAFE. THE FOOD WAS EXCELLENT VALUE FOR MONEY.
I LOOK FORWARD TO RETURNING.

This was our third stay at the Clayton. It still delivers a luxurious and relaxing stay in the heart of Birmingham, perfect location, close to the Bullring, so you can shop till you drop and then indulge in the many coffee shops and eating places. You really are spoilt for choice. After a days shopping it is a real treat to return back into the arms of the Clayton and immerse yourself in everything that it has to offer. The interior design is stunning and the attention to detail exceptional. Whether you are travelling for business or pleasure, you really are made to feel special by the friendly and accommodating staff through to your immediate surroundings. A real jewel in the crown. In my opinion, the best hotel in Birmingham - it really delivers. I can't wait for our next visit and thoroughly recommend this hotel. Fantastic breakfasts and restaurant too!
Q. B.
Nice centrally located hotel in Birmingham. Smart and clean but a little odd in its corporate decor. A mix of colours and styles that don’t fit perfectly together. However breakfast good in the normal corporate hotel way and rooms nicely sized.
s. s.
What I liked the most about this hotel was the distance between hotel and shopping center.
It is a nice hotel, the staff is friendly, the restaurant has good food.
Rooms are clean, the bathroom is modern and clean.
The room has USB port, which is great if you want to charge your phone.
Breakfast is English breakfast, as Dutch citizen I personally don’t like it.
All by all it is a nice hotel, I will diffenatlly stay there again.
C. W.
Lovely hotel, lovely rooms. Several of us stayed over for 2 nights for a wedding and really enjoyed our stay, food in the restaurant is fantastic and the bar is open until late. There is a small gym, no swimming pool. Staff very friendly but sometimes staff knowledge is a bit haphazard and there are a few small errors with our bookings.
A. B.
Fantastic hotel. Lovely spacious room, lovely landscaped view outside room and lights controlled by touchscreen panel near bed. Another bonus was a plug right by the bed for charging your phone. Very pleasant bar/restaurant area and generally very elegant design throughout.
S. B.
Ok if u are on a budget and want to stay central. Rooms are a tiny bit tired n grubby. Breakfast was excellent. At check in we were offered a platter of delicious cupcakes and fizz whilst we waited....a nice touch which was surely appreciated.
P. D.
I've got mixed feelings about this hotel. I stayed in a standard room for two nights. The bedroom felt very cramped, largely because they squeezed a king and a single bed in. There was very little cupboard space for one person, let alone three. The bed felt short, as about 10 cm was under the headboard. The bathroom was great, with a great shower (no bath). The breakfast was good, but Premier Inn do a better breakfast! My biggest gripe was inmy room I couldn't really get the temperature low enough, the staff helped a bit, but I think there was a fault in my room.
R. R.
I recently stayed at Clayton Hotel for a night, upon arrival I was greeted politely and informed of all the information I needed to know. I found my room easily and liked that in order to access a hallway you have to be a guest on that floor, the rooms are quite high tech but unfortunately my door wouldn't lock (one reason I'm not a fan of key cards, I prefer an old fashioned key) I called down to reception and someone came up to see me, they then moved me to a new room which was working correctly. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the food and service are great. The only thing I would say, is if a door slams above you, the adjoining door in your room rattles.
P. H.
We stayed at your hotel on my birthday. We usually use Crown Plaza, but wanted a change. We always use booking.com and did so this time. I had a message saying my credit card, with £700 credit on it had been declined. So i tried with another card with £500 credit, also declined, so i phoned the hotel to ask what to do and was told to pay when we got there. I had a message off booking.com telling me to pay by paypal which i did. I told the man on reception but he still had card to pre authorise it. I later found when i got home that i had been charged full rate again. I phoned booking.com and they phoned the hotel who said it was a mistake and would refund it. There is something wrong with your system if its declining cards that have six times the cost of the room available on it. Phone not working in room, had ham sandwiches for room service and later on we asked for room service again and only ham sandwiches or curry available after 9.30pm. Went to the bar to see what snacks were available to find 1 bag of salt and vinegar and 5 bags of ham and mustard available, nothing else. So had 2 bags of crisps. We mistakenly used Albert St car park and was stung for £25 instead of using Moor Street which was £11 concessionary. I think it should be made more prominent which car park has the concessionary charge. The breakfast was fantastic, hot and tasty, and far superior to the Crown Plaza. A lovely hotel, just reservation payment problems and poor selection of food after 9.30pm.

For business trips, or weekend trips away it's ideal. Considering it is a Clayton hotel it hasn't changed at all from hotel la tour (previous hotel name) with stickers covering the old logos and so on. Isn't great for families with limited cupboard/draw space and no mini fridge. Was given great customer service from the check-in desk and rooms serviced well.
R. W.
The Hotel la tour is a modern and stylish hotel. The rooms are average sized but well decorated and maintained. The reception staff were extremely friendly and helpful as were the rest of the staff in general.
Access to the hotel on foot is very easy and the location is close to the main shopping centre. Access by car is a bit trickier thanks in no small part to Birmingham's one way systems. The address advertised by the hotel is Albert street but the main access is via Park street. Once we'd discovered this it made finding the car parks and drop off points a whole lot easier!!
As soon as you approach and enter the hotel you are left in no doubt that the restaurant is associated with Marco Pierre White... his image is all over the place as he looks down in various rebellious poses. I expected good things. The restaurant staff were excellent and attentive and there was an air of elegance to the surroundings. Sadly the food didn't live up to the hype. It wasn't bad food, but my friends and I were left distinctly underwhelmed. I've eaten in far less prestigious places where the quality and flavour of food was much better at a fraction of the cost. Perhaps my expectations were a bit higher than they should've been, but given that the association with Marco Pierre White is so prominently advertised as to being a selling point, I couldn't help but feel a little disappointed. The breakfast however was as good as you'd expect from any decent hotel.
Despite the underwhelming culinary experience, my stay was enjoyable and its close proximity to the major shopping centre is probably the real main attraction.
D. L.
Excellent hotel. A comfortable and well appointed room. Room layouts are well thought out and technology seamlessly integrated.
Reception staff were helpful in providing me with a spare phone charger when i had forgotten mine. Breakfast was also excellent.
All-in-all i would rate this hotel as a cut above otheda in this price range in birmingham city centre.
A. R.
Great location, modern sleek design, comfy beds and bathroom excellent, suite was very tired with some damaged fittings and furniture, one of the two tv's didnt work aswell as the heating control didnt seem to work. I wouldnt recommend the suite for the extra money and probably worth asking for a room on a high level as alot of construction happening nearby spoiling any view from a lower floor. Great parking at 7£ just a 5 minute walk from the hotel.didnt have breakfast but did use the bar in the evening which was reasonable price (drinks) and nice atmosphere.
J. S.
We were visiting Birmingham for a one night short break and our experience at the Clayton was great. We had a smooth check-in, discounted parking just down the road was convenient and easy to find, and our room was clean and spacious. The location of the hotel is ideal for the Bullring, and the canal district is only a twenty minute walk away.We would definitely stay at the Clayton again if we returned to Birmingham for another break.
J. T.
Was so impressed with the Clayton Hotel, our room (a triple) was lovely, and available when we checked in early. Beds were lush, and the food at both breakfast and dinner was so nice. Staff all friendly ou problem was one lift broke which meant long waits to use the other one but can't be helped. Thanks for a lovely stay.
B. S.
One of the most impressive hotels I have ever been too, the Hi tech features in the room were an amazing added touch. The only thing I would have liked was breakfast included but as far as the hotel goes I don't think I have been anywhere as impressive before, one piece of advice would be to double check your door when leaving as it can be awkward to lock so just check. The staff were amazing and helpful from the moment we arrived until we left. Perfect location to go shopping or just visit Birmingham. Fully recommend.
m. h.
Professional and informative check in. Clean, stylish, well equipped room and bathroom. Evening meal hot and tasty, breakfast - good choice of hot and cold items - but would appreciate wholemeal bread, only white on offer. Staff cleared tables quickly and responded to requests pleasantly and efficiently.
Enjoyed our stay and would use hotel again when in Birmingham.
J. w.
Was very nice the service was amazing and the food was delicious
G. N.
Great hotel. Stayed Few times rooms are brilliant. Breakfast nice too. Right next to bull ring so close to shops and easy to get a taxi to broad Street or mailbox. Staff very friendly and helpful.Ideal location in central Birmingham, short walk to new street station and the bullring opposite that. Service was as you could expect and very good. Rooms looked great but on the small side. I would stay there again.
M. S.
Good service and quality all round, I couldn't fault it.
A. D.
The Clayton is a lovely hotel, OK location could be better as could parking. The hotel itself though is well designed with impressive levels of comfort and a touch of luxury. Having been guests both under it's former ownership as the Hotel LaTour and the present Clayton Group, the overall levels of service and standards have definitely diminished. No complimentary bottled water in standard rooms, this is just petty. The bar which on past visits has been well stocked, on the most recent visit was lacking. The staff at breakfast seem now to be thin on the ground and the quality of the breakfast offering is not as good ( it was excellent as the LaTour). Just small changes but after this visit, we don't think we will be going again which is a shame because this was our go to hotel if we stayed the in the city centre.
S. S.
To list all the good points of this hotel would read like a novel so to keep it simple if you're looking for a great hotel in city centre with good service and food second to non this is the one you're looking for. Great if traveling by bus or train only downside is no parking which I put down to being in the centre of,you can get over having to park over the road at John Lewis then I can't recommend enough .also do a great breakfast had many buffet breakfast but this hotel wins hands down, also rate the ham terien
P. P.
Lovely afternoon tea and Cocktails

Stayed with 2 friends in a triple room, king size and single bed. We all commented in the morning how comfortable the beds were! Hot shower, big towels. Room thermostat easily controlled. Quiet at night. Thanks

Nice Staff and rooms are very clean.
Covid free hotel!

We only stayed one night but we felt very rested. The staff were very welcoming, helpful and couldn't do enough for us. We would love to return or stay at another hotel from the Clayton group.
M. B.
We very much enjoyed our stay at the Clayton in Birmingham. The hotel is lovely and the bedrooms are very comfortable and well designed. The staff were all incredibly helpful. We'd definitely return.
g. n.
We booked two rooms last weekend, the reception staff were very pleasant and efficient, booked in with the minimum of fuss. Parking was explained and a short walk from the hotel. Price for parking was very cheap for our 2 day stay.
The location of the hotel was perfect for what we wanted, and close to the Bull Ring.
Our rooms were very clean, modern and had everything you needed for a stay. Went to the resaurant in the evening and we hadnt booked but they accommadated 7 of us with no fuss at all. Food was superb.
Full English / continental breakfast in the morning, with as much as you wanted.
Checking out was easy too, fully recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a quality stay in Birmingham.
L.
Nice hotel but wouldn't pay full price to stay.
The rooms were nice but not spectacular. The best part of my stay was the breakfast which was delicious. Lots of fresh produce and a wide ranging buffet.
k.
We stayed only for 3 nights but it was really good! The staff was really nice and tried to help with everything if we had any questions. The hotel was really central so it was good to bring all the shopping to the hotel and go out again!
K. P.
Great hotel. Perfect location to train station and shops. Did a deal which included 3 course meal and as it was my mums birthday they even brought a sparkler out to celebrate. Couldn't fault the service and lovely rooms. Really clean and Xmas decs were gorgeous
A. S.
We took up one of this hotels special offers of an overnight stay with evening meal and breakfast included. Sited immediately next to New street station and the Bullring. It was a very good experience we will add Clayton to our short list of good hotel chains.
E. K.
We have looked for a hotel near the centre of the city and this was it. I first had booked another hotel but i preferred this because of the fact that it is new , looked good and mentioned the possibility of parking my car nearby. The hotel fullfilled ouw demands perfectly. Pleasant rooms, good sanitair and wifi and a veryr good Breakfast.
The only remark i can make is the fact that the parkingfacilities are about 600m. away which was a little bit of disapointment to carry all our Luggage that far.
D. P.
2nd time we have stayed here and we recieved amazing service from reception upon check-in.
Breakfast is lovely, service from the waiters/waitresses again can not fault one bit. Perfect service and will definitely be returning.

Really enjoyed the stay. The hotel room was exceptional, not like any I've stayed in before. It was very clean both in the room and general areas. Staff were very friendly and professional.
L. C. B.
The hotel is located very near the Bullring and Moor Street station. It was very handy for us as it was near all the attractions. We had a city room with an extra pull out bed and the room was spacious. The breakfast is lovely with a good selection. I certainly recommend this hotel.
T. S.
Nice, well designed, modern, quiet, clean, good food, reasonably equipped gym, good location, good sized rooms... Do I need to go on?
It can be pricey if you book late and breakfast can be had for less in the area. I must say it was well done and choice is good, although pancakes or blinis should never be cooked beforehand and served cold.
Do I have a gripe? The area is undergoing redevelopment and it does get a bit noisy at times. Restaurant is on the expensive side of Birmingham and there are a ton of alternatives within 10 mins walking distance.
D. C.
Top notch staff. Lovely clean room, a little smaller than expected yet still comfortable. Excellent ensuite shower with radio speakers. Bar area pleasant to relax in. Great access to the city centre and I'll be happy to return when next in Birmingham.
K. M.
Staff we're really helpful and polite. Breakfast was delicious and rooms lovely and clean, even when we ran out of tea bags and milk housekeeping we're more than happy to help. Also helps that it's not 10 mins away from the shopping centre
Z. B.
Good clean hotel. Attended a conference. Liked the facilities. The free coffee and the peace despite being in the very centre of town. The food was good and tasty. There is a bar and a cafe. Entrance not from where you expect. Should have had two entrances
M. R.
The Hotel La Tour is a very modern, attractive building that you can easily spot from a good distance away. I was staying in an Executive Room, which was very luxurious and well equipped. The bathroom was very spacious and there was good pressure from the shower head. The room WiFi was good but not spectacularly quick.
R. E.
I stayed in the suite and I have to honestly say this was the best stay I have ever had ! Everything was perfect the room was incredible with an amazing view ! We arrived and the staff were so helpful and really took the time with us. Jessica on reception was brilliant we wanted more sugars it was sorted within seconds , we needed the telly Ariel sorting and it was done again within seconds. ive never had holiday blues from a one night stay but I'm dying to go back already absolutely amazing stay ! It was like a dream the room was just perfect the bed is huge the sound system is unreal and the telly in the bath was just icing on the cake ! So grateful for this stay and everyone that was involved with the booking. So big thankyou to all the team special mention to Kamila for sorting this. I work in hospitality myself and would love to work for a hotel that runs the way the Clayton does. If you are wondering whether to stay here or not the answer is YES ! You will not be disappointed!
L. H.
Stayed for one night. Spacious room with decent facilities. Had a meal in the restaurant - good quality food. Breakfast was fine too. Friendly staff.
L. L.
Our rooms ( we had two ) were clean, comfortable and cosy. I deducted two stars for the following reasons:
- we returned to the hotel around 1am. First we spend around 10min outside waiting to be let inside the hotel. Main door was already closed and there was no one at the reception.
- once inside our room we got hungry and decided to call the room service. Using external telephone system we rang 841 according to the instructions and waited for someone to answer the phone....so we have waited for approx 30-40min. No answer. Eventually using my mobile I called the hotel telephone number and finally someone picked up the phone.
- room service menu....complete disaster. On the first glance the menu appeared decent with a lot to choose from however there was not even a single item of the room service menu that was available. We ended up getting some sandwiches which were not even on the menu. We are talking here basic stuff...ham and mustard and cheese and pickle.
- the following morning We went downstairs to have a breakfast which we had paid for when checking in however on the guests list it appeared that we hadn't paid for the breakfast. This was however resolve quite promptly but the bitter aftertaste remained.
Overall I do expect more from a 4 star hotel.
A. C.
The hotel is one of the cleanest I've ever stayed in, the rooms are nice and not cramped, and I love the AV system with its connectivity options. It was so easy to plug my laptop in so that I could watch Netflix. Full air-conditioning is great, and able to control all of the lights from the huge touch screen by the bed.

AMAZING, went for afternoon tea. Was a real treat.
Staff are super friendly, and helpful. Discribe everything and listen to your choices and any changes you want or need.
Food is top quality, fresh and really tasty.
Great wine, fresh hot tea and coffee.
Lovely atmosphere and dinning room
Thank you for a great afternoon.

Myself and my 2 daughters visited Birmingham for some shopping at the bullring and a visit to the Birmingham hippodrome, we have visited Birmingham on a number of occasions but this hotel was by far the best we have stayed in! The hotel is within a 10 minute walk to the bullring and a five minute taxi ride to the hippodrome. Our room was immaculate, we arrived earlier than the check in time but a room was available for us to check in early, we checked in then parked the car up which was so helpful. We had cocktails in the gorgeous bar, all staff were so helpful. The breakfast was out of this world! There was everything from continental, fruit, yoghurt, full English, porridge various juices and pastries too, this really did set us up for the day! We will definitely be staying here again.

We stated at the Clayton Birmingham on 22nd Dec to celebrate our wedding anniversary. This was our first time at the Clayton and I can honestly say that we had possibly the best experience of any hotel stay in the UK. The staff were extremely helpful and welcoming and the car park was conveniently located close by. We had booked a superior room which was large, high tech and very luxurious. The dinner and breakfast package was great value and we had a wonderful dinner with wine included and the best buffet breakfast I gave ever had with plenty of options on offer and all of the food deliciously cooked. A faultless stay and we have already rebooked for my wife's birthday in February. This hotel is a credit to the city of Birmingham. I cannot recommend it enough.

Absolutely perfect. I love the sealed doors after cleaning so you can be assured noone has been in the room since it was cleaned 👍 staff were all friendly no complaints.

You know you are in for a treat as soon as you walk through the door. Friendly welcoming staff at check in and during breakfast service. Ideal location for the Bullring and Grand Central. We ate the Chop House which was well worth the …

It's located a little outside the busy part of the centre, but within spitting distance of Moor St Station. There are plenty of cheap car parks nearby.
The bar is brilliant, even though the staff seem a little slow, they know their stuff.
Drinks are a little on the expensive side, but when you're in here you can't help but feel you're in a swanky 5 star bar in Central London.
They have a small but comfy outdoor area where you can take drinks and smoke to your hearts content.
The restaurant is a Marco Pierre White affair so it should be good. Didn't have any food on this occasion, but have eaten here before and it's been good quality.
Will definitely go again, especially when they have live music in the lounge.
Very relaxed atmosphere, thankfully no rabble about.

Stayed at the hotel for a overnight stay with a special offer which gave me food / drink credit, room and breakfast.
The rooms are amazing, modern and clean. Although a city centre location, very quiet which is nice.
The food is amazing... Marco Pierre White Chophouse which I can't fault. The breakfast in the morning was hot, tasty and plentyful.
Definitely recommend

I've been to this hotel on a couple of occasions before and I knew that it was a great place. We had an executive room which was really comfortable and quiet. Marvellous Bathroom and great sound system. I paid for an upgrade the last time I stayed and the room was worth the extra money.

Clean, crisp and comfortable. Decor is very new and plush. (Love the Hi tech lighting adjustment and door entry). Staff were professional and helpful. The free WiFi actually worked too - can you believe it!
I didn't try the food, but enjoyed a nice pint of Guiness. Restaurant looked bustling and lively. Overall, ideal for a business stay over, and perfect for a Birmingham City Break.

We had afternoon tea for my mums 60th birthday. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and there's a good selection on the menu. Only minor niggles were that it was a bit cold and when we asked for extra sandwiches (unlimited with the afternoon tea) they took a while to arrive.

Lovely venue attended for a brief while whilst attending a job club. Staff appeared very engaged and willing to show the way. Lovely decor and nice ambiance about the place. I'm sure it would be an amazing place to stay.

Decent rooms. Very high tech. Shower not to my taste (one of those drench ones) and the pillows were not great. Free WiFi handy as EE had no signal at all on 5th floor. Breakfast was decent enough.
All in all I'll not be back but that's only because of the location. If it was in the western side of the city centre I would return

v nice quality hotel - fair value for 4 star of this quality- rooms modern and well equipped good showers - Staff OK - bit mixed in terms of helpfulness and correct info depending who you got at reception. Breakfast alright- 2nd stay and both times cooked felt like sat around for ages and bit screwed up and ingredients a bit cheap bearing in mind the rest of the hotel quality - would i stay again- yep as room quality is good and location central and price fair compared to local peers

Beautiful hotel in the center of Birmingham. Nice room with TV infront of bed and tub. Good food and breakfast next to a long bar. Humble and nice staff. Clean and quit room. Great touch-card-lock. Very close to Bullring.

Visited with friends for Afternoon Tea.
Lovely decor. Warm, friendly staff at reception. Bernado and another lady (we do not know her name) were excellent, catered for our quite demanding party , lol! with a smile. Nothing was too much trouble.
Thank you

The hotel was stunning, food was great and staff were very helpful. The executive room we were in was massive with a huge bed n TV. Even the bathroom was stunning. Will definately be paying a visit again sometime :-)
Thanks
